Who sleeps in the middle? 

Sirius. He needs his own space since being in a triad with someone other than James can be overwhelming for him who is used to only having James that close. He disappears from time to time, sometimes a day, sometimes for weeks. James keeps worrying, scared to death that Sirius maybe is fed up with their three-way relationship and had left them for good. Lily sometimes worries as well in secret but she doesn't want to fuel James' frustration and fear more by voicing it. The moment Sirius gets back? He is stuck in the middle of the bed with the most aggressive cuddlers in the world. It's their routine until the next cycle of disappearance and desperation. 

Who is the best cuddler?

James. Sharing a bed with him has two modes. Either cuddling or sex.

Who gets hurt the most?

 Physically? James. He is reckless and lacks the grace that the Black DNA has blessed Sirius with. Lily doesn't do anything rash so by default she is more immune. Emotionally?  Again James. He is confident and arrogant by nature but he is terrified of losing either Sirius or Lily one day, or losing them to each other with no place for him in the middle. He is terrified of being forgotten and not having their love one day and it hurts him so bad, the thought of being left alone. Lily and Sirius know it as well and make sure about his emotional stability in their relationship.

Who acts like the baby?

It's not even a question. 😂 of course it's spoiled baby Jamie boy. He keeps throwing a mini tantrum until Sirius pulls his leash and shuts him up, sometimes with a heated  kiss and sometimes with a cold glare.

Who teases the others the most?

Their teasing type is different. Sirius has a cruel sense of sarcasm and a brutal honesty which always makes James pout but Lily quite enjoys it and responds with her own brand of dry humour. That is one of the first things Lily and Sirius bonded upon. James' way of teasing is way more physical. Be it by tickling the other two to death or fun and games in the bedroom.

Who proposes? 

James of course. The man is a hopeless romantic, although Sirius preferred an open relationship despite James' begging insistence for marriage. That is why James is terrified of losing Sirius in a married life with Lily, despite being in an established triad. Sirius is a hurricane of feelings, over-sensitive and easy to trigger and James knows that he is walking on a knife's edge by trying to satisfy him and Lily (who are opposites in many ways) both. 

Who is the most protective?

Lily. She will set you on fire if you mess with her lovers. Call it a woman's intuition or a motherly instinct but Lily Potter is not pleasant when it comes to dealing with her family's safety.

Who is the closest to the child? (Whether it be a fur baby, scale baby, or human child.)

Sirius. Lily and James can't help but to be a bit jealous because baby Harry always wants to sit on paddy's lap, wants to be spoon fed by him, wants to play with padfoot, etc. James whines playfully about it and Lily can't help but to be amused. 

Their cat? She is basically Sirius' tail, accompanying him everywhere like a duckling. She sulks in the yard when Sirius is not home. She hates James and just tolerates Lily.

Who gives the best advice?

Neither. Sirius' tongue cuts deep with his brutal honesty, James can be too emotional and Lily too logical. They need to either solve the problem with the three of them involved or ask for someone else's advice.

Who is like a therapist?

James. He is kind and forgiving and had learned how to give love to others from early childhood. He can easily deal with messed up emotional stuff. He had dealt with Sirius' breakdown in the fifth year and Lily's hard hormonal pregnancy after all.

Who sings B and C to sleep? 

Neither. Unless you count Sirius' distracted awkward humming while he brushes his teeth a lullaby.

Is the relationship healthy?

When Lily is involved, absolutely yes. James and Sirius are too overdosed on each other though with no shame.

Do A and B have a stronger bond with each other? Or do C and B or C and A have a stronger bond? Or are A, B, and C close together [equally]?

James and Sirius' bond is absolutely stronger, no doubt. But that doesn't mean Lily is unloved. It is just different. She is loved in a softer way, not like the dangerous clash and burn of the Sirius and the Sun.

Who can be trusted to be left home alone?

Sirius. Lily's potion making experiments can blow even the Diagon alley up if left unsupervised and James has a tendency to show off the cooking skills he doesn't have.

Who cries the most?

James. He is very open in showing his emotions.

Who is the softest?

Lily. She doesn't know it but she is softer than a marshmallow, both heart and body. 

Who is the shortest?

Lily. She is easily picked up by Sirius or James for a kiss or a bridal style walk. 

Who is the tallest?

Sirius. Case closed.

Who likes cuddles the most?

James. He feels loved and comfortable by cuddling.

Last of all, who sings terribly in the shower?

James sings in the shower and Lily sings along from outside as well just to mess with Sirius. Sirius is SO done with them.

Jilypad week 2023

Day 1 :

When and Why did you begin to Ship Jilypad?  What makes you Ship it?  Basically, just gush on this ship.

So Jily has been my OTP since forever, and when I got back to fandom, I started out with them, obviously. Enemies(-ish) to lovers, cute little shit who sees the error of his ways and manages to become a hero and capture the girl he's always been in love with in the process, what's not to love, really?

Then I started thinking about Sirius/Lily. Also two people who canonically love each other very much and have a lot of things in common. Sirius is just similar enough to James to be equally interesting to play with but different enough to bring different dynamics in a relationship with Lily. Plus, my guy has had historically bad luck with everything in his life (shitty family? wrongly imprisoned?? died young?!) so frankly, falling for his best friend's love interest/wife is right on par with him.

As for prongsfoot? I've always said that, however you want to look at it, the love of Sirius's life was James. And while I prefer it in a friendly/platonic context - there's something so deeply gratifying about a HUGE, DIE FOR YOU kind of love that isn't romantic - a romantic/sexual relationship is just too easy to picture there between all the emotional bonding and closeness and comfort between those two.

So any way you want to look at it, there's love and trust all around, there are interesting dynamics and triangles to explore, and Jilypad is a very reasonable way for things to evolve. (Besides - who wouldn't want Sirius in their bed if given the opportunity? Duh.)

JILYPAD WEEK 2023 - Day 3 -  Favorite Canon/Potentially Canon moment 

Ooooh, so many choices... for a favorite Canon or Potentially Canon moment.

I think I have to go with Lily's Letter to Sirius. For Reference:

Dear Padfoot,

Thank you, thank you, for Harry's birthday present! It was his favourite by far. One year old and already zooming along on a toy broomstick, he looked so pleased with himself, I'm enclosing a picture so you can see. You know it only rises about two feet off the ground, but he nearly killed the cat and he smashed a horrible vase Petunia sent me for Christmas (no complaints there). Of course, James thought it was funny, says he's going to be a great Quidditch player, but we've had to pack away all the ornaments and make sure we don't take our eyes off him when he gets going.

We had a very quiet birthday tea, just us and old Bathilda, who has always been sweet to us, and who dotes on Harry. We were so sorry you couldn't come, but the Order's got to come first, and Harry's not old enough to know it's his birthday anyway! James is getting a bit frustrated shut up here, he tries not to show it but I can tell -- also, Dumbledore's still got his Invisibility Cloak, so no chance of little excursions. If you could visit, it would cheer him up so much. Wormy was here last weekend, I thought he seemed down, but that was probably the news about the McKinnons; I cried all evening when I heard.

Bathilda drops in most days, she's a fascinating old thing with the most amazing stories about Dumbledore, I'm not sure he'd be pleased if he knew! I don't know how much to believe, actually, because it seems incredible that Dumbledore could ever have been friends with Gellert Grindelwald. I think her mind's going, personally!

I love this moment because it tells us SO much about Sirius & Lily's relationship. Since we have canon proof of how much Jily and Prongsfoot love each other via moments like the wedding photos and SWM where James is literally showing off for and would only listen to Sirius and Sirius only ever talks about James in the books, Sirius/Lily - Sily, Lilypad - is the one where things can swing either way.

So, when we got to DH and had a letter like this - it conveyed so much love and understanding of one another that it made it easy to start shipping Jilypad. Before, everyone talked about how Sirius would be that annoying friend that Lily would probably be upset is always tagging around, but here we see it's not like that.

Lily reaches out to him to thank him for understanding her son with his gift, she tells him how it made her laugh, she confesses that she's been done, that she and James miss him. This isn't a simple "thank the godfather for being a good godfather" - this is a true friendship with lots of love that really showed us that they've bonded, too, and it makes it so easy to make this romantic.

Anyway, this is the canon moment I love.

The potentially canon moment would probably be asking Sirius to be the godfather because again, Lily loves and trusts Sirius and it just... displays so much.

Jilypad Week Day 6: Questions for the Ship (link)

Who sleeps in the middle? When they first get together James and Lily insist Sirius take the middle spot. But I think James is the real cuddler of the relationship so usually sleeps in the middle so he have an arm around each of them.

Who is the best cuddler? James again. He learnt from the best (yk Fleamont and Euphemia). But the first time Lily hugs Sirius she’s surprised because he hugs just like James does.

Who gets hurt the most? Probably Sirius… maybe a tie between Sirius and James. But all three have the reckless Gryffindor streak.

Who acts like the baby? Hmmm none…

Who teases the others the most? Lily. Sirius and James are really quite surprised (and delighted) by how wicked her sense of humour is.

Who proposes? James, without a doubt, the hopeless romantic <3

Who is the most protective? Sirius. He’d cut off his own wand hand if it kept them safe.

Who is the closest to the child? Mmm this is a hard one. It’s a cop out but I’m going to say they all have their own special (but different) connection with Harry… but then Lily has that indescribable motherly bond with him, so…

Who gives the best advice? Lily. No nonsense and kind of brutal, but its good advice.

Who is like a therapist? Surprisingly Sirius. Idk, just the way Sirius is able to listen to Harry in canon and validate his feelings and so quick gains Harry’s trust… it all makes me think Sirius would be very good at this, at least if he cared about you (not saying he’d be a good therapist to anyone he didn’t have a deep personal connection to though haha).

Who sings B and C to sleep? Lily, singing Harry lullabies also lulls Sirius and James to sleep.

Is the relationship healthy? Hm define healthy haha… I definitely think they’d be the textbook definition of co-dependent. But if they are all happy with that, does it matter?

Do A and B have a stronger bond with each other? Or do C and B or C and A have a stronger bond? Or are A, B, and C close together [equally]? Look I’m a sucker for equality and I think the relationships of L/J, S/J & S/L all have something special to offer. (But also its Sirius and James, because I am bias as hell).

Who can be trusted to be left home alone? Lily. But mainly because James and Sirius don’t let themselves be alone in the house, and if they are, its never for long because they just pull out their mirrors and start chatting to each other.

Who cries the most? Oooh, I don’t know. I don’t think any of them are criers per say… but maybe James. I see him as being the most in touch with his feelings because again, Effie and Fleamont are his parents.

Who is the softest? They’ve all got sharp edges. But I think maybe Lily; she is described so often as being kind.

Who is the shortest? Lily. She loves the feeling of Sirius and James towering over her when they kiss standing up.

Who is the tallest? Sirius, he has like an inch on James and is always happy to tease him about it.

Who likes cuddles the most? James. But secretly Sirius. Lily loves a good cuddle session, but also enjoys her own space.

Last of all, who sings terribly in the shower? James :P Lily and Sirius pretend to complain, but they secretly love it.

Day 4 - Favorite type of story that you like to Read and/or Write for this ship?

oooh okay so, my top tier tropes for any ship really are 1. outsider POV and 2. getting together. i love it when character dynamics are explored through an unfamiliar gaze, and u get to see nuances that might otherwise be taken for granted. even from the writing side, when ur writing the ship from outsider pov, you’ve really gotta think about what ur characters are like and how others perceive them and that gives it a certain…depth?

and getting together is always fun! the back and forths, the temporary angst, the shift from friends to something more and in jilypad u get even more drama w the polyamory!! it only gets better!!

for jilypad, specifically, hmmm. one trope i really like is jily james pining over sirius and lily noticing first and helping him get there. sirius being confused as shit.

also! smutty smut. i love all the dynamics. j&s teaming up to make lily lose her mind. s&l going at it like rabbits while j is away, making him burn across their mirrors. j&l slowly sending sirius into their marital bed. gimme all of it *grabby hands*

What Headcanons do you have for this ship?  IE, things like how they got together or what they enjoy doing together.  Anything really.

Mmmmh well can I say sex? 😂 Lot of sex 😂😂😂

Anyway every story has its things. As for "how they got together" I say that Lily see that James and Sirius are in love, even if James or Sirius deny it, and just accept it because "Well I like James too. And Sirius is hot. So win win". I suppose she talks to Sirius first... Sometimens James talks to her first and then she talks to Sirius and then the two of them talk to James.

One phrase I make James say in one of my fic, angst before the happiness: "You were my dream, Lily, but Sirius was real".

That's it. Sirius was real for James; Lily was his dream.

Sirius is his soulmate. And Lily... She is the love of his life.

And Sirius and Lily can love eachother for James and be happy together.

I didn't. It creeped up to me slowly until I had no choice but acknowledge. My OTP is J/S but before I read many J/L fics, finding none of them satisfying because they didn't portray J&S's relationship as instense as I would like. Then I moved to J/S, I began to write for it, but L started to peek in slowly but persistently in my stories. Enjoying J/S's flirtations with each other as much as she enjoys J's with herself. Did that mean L liked S as well? What about S? For me, the foundation of L&S relationship is mutual respect. They were both brilliant in their own field (and let's be honest, Sirius was not strutting around). That respect turns into a strong friendship in canon. So much so that L agrees with S's decisions about her family's safety. Could it turn into romantic love as well? The answer was easily yes. S is hard man not to love, L is the woman J picked. But more importantly J loves them and they love J. If both ways are compatible why not the three-way?

Who sleeps in the middle? Sirius, definitely. He gets all the love from James and Lily.

Who is the best cuddler? James, by far. He loves hugging.

Who gets hurt the most? Sirius, ahh. It hurts me too, but he is made to hurt and he does it beautifully. He's got angst in his veins, he takes things personally easily though he might not show it right away, and it takes time for him to deal with the whole running away from home and being kicked out of the family thing.

Who acts like the baby? Spoiled boy James. 💕 He has always gotten everything he wanted and if it looks like something doesn’t go his way, he will throw a tantrum until Sirius tells him to cut it out. Lily will then punish James in the bedroom.

Who teases the others the most? Lily definitely. She will whisper dirty jokes in public and Sirius enjoys it immensely while James thinks it funny but can’t help blushing every single time.

Who proposes? James. I just can’t see it any other way. He’s the romantic.

Who is the most protective? James. He is protective of everyone. Sirius is protective of James. Lily is pretty chill for the most part.

Who is the closest to the child? (Whether it be a fur baby, scale baby, or human child.) Sirius. He adores baby Harry so much, and Harry loves his Uncle Padfoot.

Who gives the best advice? Lily on anything to do with the muggle world or potions and charms. Sometimes she also has to explain things from a woman's perspective to them. Sirius on politics and anything magical, he knows so much about everything. (Yet he doesn’t always follow his own advice.) James on magical things and how to be courageous and have infinite self-confidence. He's also an expert on anything to do with a pissed off Sirius. He's the Sirius whisperer. Likewise Sirius knows how to calm James down with shower sex.

Who is like a therapist? Lily, I don’t know why, maybe she just has a different perspective on things than James and Sirius who can egg each other on too much and need someone to keep it real.

Who sings B and C to sleep? Sirius. He’s good at everything, why not singing as well? Also I just like the idea.

Is the relationship healthy? Yes. A bit chaotic at times but healthy, because they love each other and communicate with each other. This is thanks to Lily because James and Sirius are not the best communicators on romantic feelings on their own (they will be when they mature some more).

Do A and B have a stronger bond with each other? Or do C and B or C and A have a stronger bond? Or are A, B, and C close together [equally]? I think James and Sirius have a closer bond together, but they both love Lily. She loves them too, James more romantically than Sirius. She loves being friends with Sirius and is very attracted to him in a sexual way, and Sirius feels the same for her, but James is Sirius’s romantic love, sexual interest, soulmate and everything. James feels the same romantically and sexually for Lily and Sirius, but Sirius is still more of his soulmate on a spiritual level.

Who can be trusted to be left home alone? I don’t know, Lily? I feel like James or Sirius would get bored on their own very quickly and start doing experimental magic which might go wrong and cause some destruction.

Who cries the most? James, probably. He cries tears of frustration (Quidditch game gone wrong, not being able to catch a DE in a fight), tears of happiness (when they all get married and when Harry is born) and tears of sadness and grief (when he loses his parents 💔). All those Aries feelings run high and he feels everything 110%.

Who is the softest? Lily or James.

Who is the shortest? Lily.

Who is the tallest? Sirius. He’s at least 185cm or more.

Who likes cuddles the most? Sirius, but he doesn’t want to admit it. He simply turns into Padfoot whenever he needs attention because it’s easier to receive hugs as a dog. But James and Lily will wait until he turns back to human again and will then sandwich him in the middle.

Last of all, who sings terribly in the shower? James. He might not be an amazing singer but he sure is enthusiastic about it. 😀 (Just imagine him doing karaoke lol.)

Jilypad week - Day 2

What Headcanons do you have for this ship?  IE, things like how they got together or what they enjoy doing together.  Anything really.

My list of HCs for Jilypad is sadly not long like my prongsfoot, but still I will be happy to share. ♡ also excuse me if the way I portrayed their love is a bit over-dramatic. I couldn't help myself.

☆Lily fell in love with Sirius first, under the stars as he grinned lazily at her beside his telescope, bored with Astronomy lesson. He was untamed and exotic, sharing knowledge with Potter who was greedily drinking in the information at that moment. Later, she bonded with him over their dry humour and family issues, soon to be friends. (much to James' salt and sulking : It's not fair that she only likes you… ), They shared complicated projects on rare events Sirius was not partnered with James. She fell in love with James as well soon after, in the most ridiculous way possible when she became friends with a random stag in the forbidden forest which turned out to be James Potter in all his arrogant glory. It was so humiliating, the way James grinned like he had won a lottery and how Sirius nearly stopped breathing from laughing so hard. Still, it worked and now James is nothing but affectionate about it.

☆Naturally, the way they love each other is very different

Sirius' love for James is fire, an explosion of feelings, hot and burning like Gryffindor colours. He gives and takes, pushes and pulls, bites and lets himself be bitten against the wall with James  convulsing and feverish in his arms, love marks blooming on his skin, adorning his soul with aching need. His love for James is deep and merciless, over-consuming and whole, a frightening dimension to explore and a poison with no cure. That's why Lily is surprised when she receives Sirius' love as well. With her, he is not the blinding brightest star he is with James. He is a soft ray of light, toning down the brightness in soft hues of dusk, with her on his lap and his lips softly on hers in the fright of burning her. His kisses are like sipping a glass of fine wine and he does it at his own leisure, selfishly leaving her yearning, playing with her heart like a mischievous adventurer. She is a delicate doll in his arms, a petal of a Lily flower which he wants fresh, not pressed between pages of a gloomy old book.

James' love for Sirius is air, sometimes a fresh breeze and sometimes a horrifying hurricane. It is destructive and passionate, a struggle to survive which James is willing to do every day if it means being in Sirius' orbit. He openly demands rendezvouses in the forest , adventure and eroticism in mind, somewhere private to release the Asmodeus within. It is a terminal disease, one that James keeps bleeding for, unable to stop. With Lily he is the ocean, warm and gentle, embracing her with love. He likes her lustful, to press against the marble of her skin in the tub, kissing her raw until her lips are as red as her hair.  Unlike Sirius, breaking her had never been an issue for him as he thrusts into her in the splash of the lukewarm water and Lily loses herself in James pleasantly, hot and needy. She understands no matter how she longs for Sirius to undo her relentlessly as well, that dark part is exclusively James' who indulges him in sinful pleasures like no other.

Lily's love for James is like summer, like the sunlight shining between the green leaves of the old apricot tree in the backyard of their small cottage. It is homey, a cradle of comfort tangled in afternoon naps. It is passionate and satisfying, filled with domesticity that James' had learned in his childhood and yet, there is one blossom on the tallest branch, one that she could never reach and grab, one that has to fall on it's own for her to hold it between her small hands. Sirius comes and goes on his own accord, seduction on his tongue and temptation in his touch, hushed wicked promises on his lips. He doesn't need her bare, the baritone of his voice shatters her mind easily, unravelling want and love in her, like breathing in the most aromatic sandalwood.

☆ Sirius sleeps in the middle, James and Lily clinging to him from either side like a pair of needy koalas, using him as a human pillow and nuzzling into his hair, because they hate his now and then disappearances. Needless to say, Sirius silently frees himself from their clutches and crawls out of the bed, because as much as he is in love with them, it's hot.

☆James is always scared to lose one of them, chewing on his nails nervously when things overwhelm him after an argument or such. He feels guilty and selfish for wanting them both in his life and sometimes cannot help but to think he is losing them to each other.

☆Sirius and Lily devour any alcoholic beverage as if it's mineral water, James hits the floor with the first glass. They bribed a drunk James into a strip tease once while themselves were absolutely conscious. It ended up with James wrecked in bed. 

☆James' collection of jeans mostly belongs to Sirius and Lily's collection of oversized home T Shirts belong to James.

☆Sirius and Lily share smokes, James hates it.

☆Lily loves to wash her body with James' soap and her hair with Sirius' shampoo. It is both arousing and romantic for her. 

and last but not least...they are very much in love.

AHH First Jilypad week EVER! WOOHOO!

I'm excited.

TO be honest, I can't remember when I started shipping Jilypad. I feel like I shipped Jily because that's how we get Harry and I love Harry. Then, I got into Prongsfoot because they are totally amazing.

But then, I thought, I still want Harry. So, then I started thinking about Jilypad.

And it just *works*.

It's smoothly fit into canon with the way Lily was also close to Sirius - the letter, the Best Man, the Godfather... it's so clear that there was love there and we know from Prongsfoot and Jily that there was love between those pairings so with this information for Sirius/Lily - Sirily? Sily? It just works!

Jilypad just works in canon and Fanon. They all love each other. And it's just so great to imagine them all together. Giving all the love and evening things out together. It's so great.

Anyway, Love the ship and love writing them!

Day 1 - When and Why did you begin to Ship Jilypad?  What makes you Ship it?

uhhh definitely can’t remember when i started shipping them but i think…and this’ll sound stupid lol…that it was because i really wanted more j/s and i wasn’t getting it anywhere else lol at that point, i didn’t quite care for lily bc i was so burnt by all those weird jily portrayals and the deified lily we get in gen fic,,,but once i actually started reading jilypad i realised how fun she could be. we definitely get some of the best characterisation for her on this side, i think, but i also could be hugely biased. she’s just…more fun, ykno? living her best life with two of the hottest guys the world!s seen beside her. also! it’s the only way i can see any form of lily/sirius working out and i think james deserves to have two people fully glomping on him. so. jilypad is what all of them deserve.

(i think…one of the first references to this was one of keira marcos’ fics where s was in a triad w jily but they were dead so it never came up so much—that didn’t stop the sheer heartbreak of sirius carrying on from bleeding into the story tho. it was so,,,,,hnghhhh)
