Imagine the past soulmates of the Bad Boys seeing how much their partner has changed this season.

Scar couldn’t care less.

Or atleast that’s what he tries to tell himself. Grian never even loved him in Double Life so why should Scar care how he’s doing? BigB should probably be more confused then him even if Scar knows this entire persona is very out of character for Grian. The alliance probably won’t even last, knowing him he’ll probably betray his allies.

But no matter how much he tries to tell himself that he doesn’t care, he can’t get rid of the feeling that this is the only time Grian has changed his skin in the entire series.

The two full seasons Scar had been with Grian, the latter never switched out of his red sweater but now that Jimmy and Joel have rolled around suddenly he’s in a leather jacket with sunglasses? Occasionally even a suit? He can only feel a little hurt because at the end of the day Grian probably doesn’t care about him anymore…it’s not like hes made an effort to talk.

Tango doesn’t know how to feel.

This wasn’t his rancher, this wasn’t the ball of sunshine that he knew last season. This guy was…confident? He was bolder and Tango didn’t know if he liked that or not. His Jimmy, his rancher, was sweet and caring, even if he was airheaded at times it was all with their best interest in mind.

Maybe it was just his exterior now but it looked far less friendly than the one Tango knew, jean jacket now replaced with leather and sunglasses permanently covering his shining blue eyes. The oceans eyes that put out Tangos flames of rage in the lowest point of their lives when Scar had burnt down their ranch.

This Jimmy also only seemed to take risks and not care about his own safety, dying twice to pure stupidity and recklessness. It would hurt Tango, like a phantom pain, every time he had to see a death message from “SolidarityGaming” in chat. Especially if it was easily preventable. Especially if it wouldn’t had happened had Tango been with him instead.

Etho didn’t see a change.

Joel had always been more reckless than the average player. He would mlg off cliffs for crying out loud! His hostile personality also stayed the same although it did come out more being able to fully embrace it with this facade and all. While that personality may have been directed at him (or his cows) sometimes it was nothing Etho couldn’t handle.

Especially with that shoulder cut leather jacket, studs lining the edges of the sleeves and sunglasses that make it look as though he were staring you down whenever you talk to him.

There was a strange feeling in him though, when he heard that he wanted to built on the sea with Jimmy. That feeling only grew when he’d overhear the trio laughing about whatever jokes they’d decide to make.

Joel was also smiling. It’s not like he hadn’t with Etho but the smile Etho knew seemed to hide the truth of “please don’t leave me, I can do these things for you” “I’m worthy of your affection” whereas this one was of pure enjoyment with his team. He just wished he treated Joel better so that instead of only having memories from one season, he would be the one making Joel laugh and smile in this one.

haven’t written anything in a while (i’m currently struggling against the kind of writers block that just prevents you having ideas smh) so here’s an old team ranchers oneshot I never actually posted lmao

jimmy has been asleep for about an hour when he’s woken abruptly by something very cold entering the bed. from the accompanying grumbling noises, he assumes it’s tango.

“hello?” jimmy cracks his eyes open. 

tango looks frozen, shivering as he shuffles into bed.

“hey. sor-sorry for waking you.” he says through chattering teeth.

“what happened to you?” jimmy sits up and regrets it immediately, dizzy. he opens his arms and tango falls into them. he’s colder than ice.

“getting sp-spruce.” tango says, pressing as close to jimmy as he can. jimmy wraps blankets and his wings around him, in hopes to warm him up. “not-not used to the cold.”

“tango, it’s the middle of the night.” jimmy rubs his hand up and down tango’s back. “you were supposed to come sleep when you’d fed the animals. oh god, you’re frozen, did you sit in powdered snow for an hour?!”

“i’m okay.” tango assures him. “it’s like.. you know when you take- take a strider out of lava? it’s all bl-blue and shivery but it doesn’t die? that’s me.”

“do I need to get you some lava?” jimmy asks. “we could find you some. would fire work?”

“I don’t ne-need lava, i’m fine.” tango says. to be fair, he is warming up, just very slowly. still. 

jimmy must look as unconvinced as he feels because tango kisses him and snuggles deeper into the blankets. “im not dying, i’m just cold.”

“well then, we ought to warm you up.” jimmy flops down sideways, bringing tango with him, and pulls the duvet over both of them. 

tango laughs as jimmy starts peppering his face with kisses, face flushing. “jim, you- jimmy!”

“mhm?” jimmy pulls back for a second, grinning. “what’s up?”

tango looks at him for a moment before burying his face in the blankets.

jimmy laughs. “oh, no! tango, i’m sorry!”

“yeah, you’re-you’re not though.” tango says, muffled.

“i’m not.” jimmy says. “I wanna see your face again.”

“nope, i’m comfy.” tango mumbles. “and cold.”

jimmy grumbles jokily and pulls tango closer, wishing he could warm him up faster. he grabs more blankets from above their bed and yanks them down onto tango.

“are you just burying me?” tango’s voice is so muffled, jimmy can hardly hear it.

“in warmth and affection!” jimmy says brightly.

“that’s a yes.” tango decides.

jimmy is about to say something when he feels tango’s tail wrap gently around his waist.

“tango, you are adorable.” jimmy tells him.

“you can’t even see me.” tango says.

“you’re giving me a hug with your tail.”

there’s a moment of silence, before,

“no i’m not.” tango sounds very flustered.

“you are, and it’s so sweet.” jimmy teases. “my tango, who’s so cute, and so kind and so- mph!”

tango has climbed out of the pile of blankets to kiss jimmy. his lips, thankfully, are warm.

“if you make me blush any more, i’ll set the bed on fire.” tango says. his face is bright red. “that’s not a threat, that’s just a fact.”

“I think I can handle that.” jimmy smiles. “you’re just too pretty.” he cups tango’s face, reassured to find it as warm as his lips.

“jimmy.” tango’s hair starts to steam. 

“oh, come here.” jimmy pulls him close and kisses him again. “my tango.” he says.

“yours, huh?” tango looks shy. “I could deal with that.”

“well, good.” jimmy says. “‘cause you’re stuck with me no matter what.”

I was so heartbroken when they died I needed to get it out of my system-

Broke: Tango is reincarnated into Empires SMP as a rancher or a spaceman or something and him and Jimmy fall in love again

Woke: Tango, Jimmy, and everyone else return to their respective servers after DL with no memory of their time there, except Tango slowly starts to remember the dumb canary boy with a heart of gold and a temper to match his own, so he leaves Hermitcraft in search for him and then ends up at Empires SMP where he stumbled upon Tumble Town except Jimmy has no idea of who he is and just thinks he’s a confused wanderer who ended up by his empire so he invites him to stay and Tango slowly falls in love with Jimmy again and Jimmy catches feelings a tiny bit himself and then they’re in the deep dark and Jimmy is being attacked by The Warden but Tango jumps in to the rescue and risks his own life to save Jimmy and that’s when Jimmy remembers all the events of DL and when they both are in a secure place because they made it out alive Jimmy scoops him up and swings him around in joy and they kiss and yes I’ve thought about this way too much
