Verse of the Day 12-3-22
Verse of the Day 12-3-22
Jesus: The Light of the World Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12 In this verse Jesus declares himself to be “the light of the world.” This is the second of Jesus’ seven “I am” statements1. While the expression appears simple and straightforward on the outside, the…

“12 Promises of God to Lean On” By Instaencouragements.com:
“Leaning on the promises of God means relying on the assurances that He has given us through His Word, the Bible.
God's promises are trustworthy and provide comfort, guidance, and hope to believers.
When we lean on these promises and trust in God's faithfulness, we find peace. Peace that passes all human understanding. Peace that sustains us in the midst of difficult circumstances. Peace that assures us that God is in control.
It's important that we read and meditate on God's Word regularly. When we do, we will be reminded of His promises and to deepen our trust in Him.
Today, let's look at 12 of His promises and meditate on the Scripture where they are found.
12 promises of God we can confidently lean on today:
1. God will fight for you: “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” —Exodus 14:14
2. God will go before you: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” —Deuteronomy 31:8
3. God will be with you: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” —Joshua 1:9
4. God will renew you: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” —Isaiah 40:31
5. God will strengthen you: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10
6. God will be your Shepherd: “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” —Psalm 23:1
7. God will deliver you: “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” —Psalm 34:17
8. God will counsel you: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” —Psalm 32:8
9. God loves you: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” —John 3:16
10. God will make all things work for your good: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” —Romans 8:28
11. God will never leave you: “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.” —Hebrews 13:5
12. God will guard you: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:7

hiiiii happy dadfucker friday <3 do you think sam was ever jealous of the extra attention dean got, or do you think he was scared of it? <3
and a happy dadfucker friday to you too ♡
this is a good question! i kind of strayed away from ur ask w this answer lol, but if we r talking abt deans "extra attention" being dean/john and adjacent stuff then i think sams opinion would be pretty much the same as what i wrote below, but more disgusted with himself about his own jealousy. hed definitely wonder more about what that says about himself and his upbringing.
sam has been watching john and dean whispering to each other in the front seat of the car his entire life, always on the outside looking in. not privy to their conversations. "the adults are talking"
for as long as he can remember, sam has seen dean and john as (almost) equals (sams parents) where sam was permanently the child. (though maybe as he grows older he starts to view dean as johns second in command, before viewing him as a dog following around its master)
and i think sam wants that too. he wants to be 10 again and to see his father in starry eyes, be held by him and feel nothing but completely safe. he wants to have someone to be mindlessly devoted to like dean is to john. he wants john to treat him as an equal like he does with dean, in what he now as an adult knows that no father should be treating his son like that. he thinks its fucked up and he resents his father for treating dean the way he does, but being a dog curling up in your masters lap at the end of the day while he scratches your ear and tells you you did good doesnt sound that bad at all.

"I am the light of the world." - John 8:12
What a wonderful consciousness was this for one that saw his life gliding rapidly away in an obscure corner of the world, among a despised class of persons, and knew that a cross was prepared for him at the capital. Knowing that the light of life is to go forth from him, from him alone, to all nations, peoples, and languages, how admirable is the quiet, unhasting humility that enables him to sit down among the poorest and meanest of earth, occupy himself with all their cares and solicitudes, heal their diseases, correct their errors, embrace their infant children, partake of their humble meals, and listen in their synagogues! He knew that he was to be the sun of all the world, bathe the continents in light, and create new heavens and new earth for the more effectual manifestation of his unimagined glory. Yet he could converse in a strain of perfect tranquility with the Samaritan woman at the well, and could go about Jerusalem looking for the poor man whom the -Pharisees had put out of the synagogue.
This is something that should never be forgotten when we read the Gospel; and the wonder is that it does not more attract the attention of men. The evidence of Christ’s humility and contentedness of spirit, rests upon the surest foundation; all his actions and his mode of life declare that he was at home among the poor and needy of earth, and sought not great things for himself; but there drop from his lips at times, expressions that indicate the perfect and abiding consciousness that he is to sit down upon the throne of this world, and fill it with the effulgence beaming from his countenance. Before the high priest and Pilate he was as a lamb led to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb so he opened not his mouth; and it was only with the greatest difficulty that they could force him once to speak and to disclose the sublime consciousness that was in him, by a reference to his future coming in the clouds of heaven and in the glory of God, to take complete possession of the world.

1 John Bonus: What is Love? (Part 2 of 3)
Probably the best-known passage on love in the Greek scriptures is found Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth, 1 Corinthians 13. #WhatisLove #Agape #1Corinthians13
Expositors will often speak of heavenly love as agape, and probably the best-known passage on love in the Greek scriptures is found Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth, 1 Corinthians 13. 1 Corinthians 13 In this chapter, Paul describes the nature of agape as patient, kind, humble, cooperative, even-tempered, generous-hearted in a way that conveys trust and loyalty, ever…

"I'm Not Good Enough" is Only One of the Lies
“I’m not good enough” is only one of the lies we tell ourselves. Moreover, this is what I told myself most of my life along with other lies like “You’re not good enough”, “You’ll never amount to anything”, “You’re too fat”, “You’re not pretty enough”, and the like. What Lies Do You Tell Yourself? I guess the point that I’m trying to make is that these are lies. So, why did I continue to believe…

My Legal Battle with my Family and their Co-horts / Co-conspirators (1):
I was released from prison on February 27, 2013.  The same day I started talking to a man on the phone named Creighton Hussey.  For 6 weeks we talked every night on the phone for 2 hours.  He told me everything I wanted to hear.  He feigned interest in the same relationship values I have and to want the same things out of life and a relationship that I want.  He then scheduled a work trip to Atlanta so that he could come and see me.  Things went really well, or so I thought, and as soon as he pulled out of my apartment parking garage to go back to the airport I received a text message from Abb Jones.  Abb is someone I hadn’t heard from in several years.  In fact, the last time I had heard from Abb was in 2006 when he invited me over to his house to swim, he tried to sleep with me and I turned him down.  Abb texted me stating that he had seen a Facebook post I made where Creighton and I had been at Piedmont Park earlier the same day walking John Flynn’s dog, Braxton.
John had left a key for me and asked me if I could walk his dog for him while he was allegedly out of town.  I didn’t think anything of it. (It’s important to note here that when I went to prison in 2008 I hadn’t talked to John Flynn in more than 2 years because he ended his friendship with me because he was dating someone and while a big group of us were at brunch together, to which John had invited me, he accused me of talking to his boyfriend in an improper manner.  Although I did nothing wrong and did not do anything but have a conversation wtih his boyfriend because his boyfriend sat next to me at a table of of about 20 people.  I was just being polite and friendly.  I would never hit on a friend’s boyfriend or anyone else’s boyfriend for that matter.  It’s also important to note here that it was in fact my parents that put John Flynn back in my life.  When I went to prison, John Flynn and my parents somehow began talking and John Flynn even drove all the way to Vancleave, Mississippi to my parents house to “have pecan pie.”  This is a 6 hour drive from Atlanta where John Flynn lived and I wasn’t even told that it was happening until after it had happened.  I will show proof of this as I have a sworn statement from my parents that this did in fact happen.)
So when Abb Jones texted me just as Creighton Hussey drove off from my house in April 2013, Abb asked if Creghton Hussey had been in town to see me.  I texted Abb back that yes Creighton was in town to see me.  Abb then texted me and said that he and Creighton had been talking every night on the phone for 2 hours a night.  I texted Creighton to ask him about it and he told me that he had met Abb on the nude beach in Fort Lauderdale but that they were not talking and that Abb was just mad because Creighton was interested in me and not him.  I trusted Creighton and didn’t think much of it.  This seemed logical especially since I hadn’t talked to Abb since the day I turned him down for sex so I believed Creighton.
