They drink wine from bowls and anoint themselves with the best oils; yet they are not made ill by the collapse of Joseph! Therefore, now they shall be the first to go into exile, and their wanton revelry shall be done away with.

The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

"Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table'? Would he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished'?

Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded? So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.'"

**Meditation:

How strong is your faith in God and how can you grow in it? Faith is not something vague, uncertain, undefineable, or something which requires a leap of the imagination or worse, some kind of blind allegiance. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Faith is a response of trust and belief in what is reliable, truthful, certain, and real. To have faith is to believe and trust in someone or something. We believe in the power of electricity even though we can't visibly see it with the naked eye. We know we can tap into that power and use it to do things we could not do by our own human power. Faith in God works in a similar way. 

When God reveals himself to us he gives us the "assurance" and "conviction" that his power and presence and glory is just as real, and even more real, than our experience of the natural physical world around us (Letter to the Hebrews 11:1-3). Things around us change, but God never changes. He is constant, ever true to his word, and always faithful to his promises (Psalm 145:13, Hebrews 10:23). That is why we can have the greatest assurance of his unconditional love for us and why we can hope with utter conviction that he will give us everything he has promised. Jesus is God's visible proof that his word is reliable and true - his love is unfailing and unconditional - and his power is immeasurably great and unlimited.

The Holy Spirit helps us to grow in expectant faith What did Jesus mean when he said to his disciples that our faith can move trees and mountains as well (see Matthew17:20; Mark 11:23)? The term "mountain remover" was used for someone who could solve great problems and difficulties. Don't we often encounter challenges and difficulties which seem beyond our power to handle? What appears impossible to human power is possible to those who believe in God's power. Faith is a gift freely given by God to help us know God personally, to understand his truth, and to live in the power of his love. God expects more from us than we can simply do by ourselves. That is why Jesus gives us the gift and power of the Holy Spirit who helps us to grow strong in faith, persevere in hope, and endure in love.

Faith in God is the key for removing obstacles and difficulties which keep us from doing his will. We belong to God and our lives are no longer our own. Our joy and privilege is to follow the Lord Jesus and to serve in the power of his love and goodness. The Lord Jesus is ever ready to work in and through us by his Spirit for his glory. For our faith to be effective it must be linked with trust and with obedience - an active submission to God and a willingness to do whatever he commands. Do you trust in the grace and strength which God freely gives to help us resist temptation and to overcome obstacles in doing his will?

Parable of the faithful servant who is indebted to God Are you ready to give the Lord your best, regardless of what it might cost you? Perhaps we are like the laborer in Jesus' parable who expected special favor and reward for going the extra mile (Luke 17:5-10)? How unfair for the master to compel his servant to give more than what was expected! Don't we love to assert our rights: "I will give only what is required and no more!" But who can satisfy the claims of love and loyalty? Our lives are not our own - they belong to God who has ransomed us from slavery to sin with the precious blood of his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:18).

Jesus used this parable of the dutiful servant to explain that we can never put God in our debt or make the claim that God owes us something. We must regard ourselves as God's servants, just as Jesus came "not to be served, but to serve" (Matthew 20:28). Service of God and of our neighbor is both a voluntary or free act and a sacred duty. One can volunteer for service or be compelled to do service for one's country or for one's family when the call and need arises. Likewise, God expects us to serve him willingly and give him the worship, praise, and honor which is his due. And he gladly accepts the free-will offering of our lives to him as our Lord and Master. What makes our offering pleasing to God is the love we express in the act of self-giving. True love is always sacrificial, generous, and selfless - it is wholly directed to the one we love and serve. 

The love of God compels us to give our best How can we love God and others selflessly and unconditionally? Scripture tells us that God himself is love (1 John 4:16) - he is the author of life and the source of all true relationships of love and friendship. He created us in love for love, and he fills our hearts with the boundless love that gives all that is good for the sake of the beloved (Romans 5:5). If we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us (1 John 4:12).

God honors the faithful servant who loves and serves with a generous heart. He is ever ready to work in and through each one of us by his Spirit for his glory. We must remember, however, that God can never be indebted to us. We have no claim on him. His love compels us to give him our best! And when we have done our best, we have simply done our duty. We can never outmatch God in his immeasurable merciful love, his extravagant kindness and goodness, and his ever constant and unceasing care for us. The Scriptures remind us over and over again that God's love is steadfast, loyal, and lasts forever - it will never cease (Psalm 89, Psalm 100, Psalm 118, Psalm 136). Saint Augustine of Hippo writes, "God loves each one of us as if there were only one of us to love." Does the love of God compel you to give your best to him with generous love and gratitude for all that he has done for you?

Lord Jesus, fill me with your consuming love and set my heart free to love generously and to serve selflessly. Fill me with gratitude for all you have done for me, and increase my faith and loyalty to you who are My All, My Strength, and My Life

Russian President Vladimir Putin has long regretted the collapse of the Soviet Union. Unsurprisingly, that nostalgia for a lost empire isn't shared by those in Ukraine he's now trying to conquer. 

In a long, rambling broadcast as the invasion was beginning last week, Putin spoke of the shared history of Russia and Ukraine and what he called the tragedy of Ukrainian independence. "From the very first steps, they began to build their statehood on the denial of everything that unites us. They tried to distort the consciousness, the historical memory of millions of people, entire generations living in Ukraine," Putin said, according to the Reuters translation.

Yet calling on those shared memories seems a strange choice, as that history includes one of the greatest crimes against humanity of the 20th century: the Holodomor. 

The Holodomor (the Ukrainian term for death by hunger) was a famine that killed nearly 4 million people between 1932-33. It was artificially engineered by Joseph Stalin as an attempt to bring the rebellious Soviet republic to heel, and is widely acknowledged today as a genocide against the people of Ukraine.

The great starvation took place in Ukraine's farmland, sometimes called the Black Earth due to the color of its soil. It is among the most fertile land in the world and Ukraine itself was known as the breadbasket of the Soviet Union; even today, the nation has been a source of much of the World Food Programme's aid to other countries. But at the end of the 1920s, with hunger spreading in Russia largely because of Communist policies, Stalin demanded farms and livestock be taken from their owners and collectivized, which he believed would be more modern and efficient. Many Ukrainian farmers refused to join collectives and were killed for their defiance, with thousands of others exiled to the desolation of Siberia.

The famine grew worse throughout the Soviet Union and reached its peak in 1932. In their zeal for wringing grain from Ukrainian farms, the Communists took not just every last morsel from many farmers, but even the seeds needed for the next year's planting. "The brigades took all the wheat, barley — everything — so we had nothing left," Holodomor survivor Nina Karpenko told the BBC in 2013. "Even beans that people had set aside just in case."

Finally, with nothing left to eat, people turned on each other, at times eating the corpses of their neighbors, even members of their families. Still other people resorted to murder. There are reports of mothers killing their weakest and youngest children to feed the others.

The tragedy is unimaginable. The scars on the survivors are permanent and passed down through generations of remembered trauma. But if Ukrainians have not forgotten the events of 1932-33, neither has Russia.

The Holodomor remains a politicized topic in Russia today, with the recent screening of a film in Moscow about the mass starvation broken up by masked men. Putin's government has since taken legal action against Memorial, the human rights group that was showing it, threatening to dissolve the organization. Clearly, even after 90 years, the deliberate starvation of Ukraine is not so far in the past.

Ok I have to Ask if you were tasked to Make a Far Cry Crossover story with the idea of traveling all over the World *including old locations from past games* who would be the Protagonist and the Antagonist? *as for any returning characters, we’ll that’s up to you*

I don’t know what I would do, honestly, because there are so many possibilities!

[Spoilers below for Far Cry games from 3 to 6 and their DLCs]

If you want to stick to canon, it depends which canon, because the world was destroyed at the end of Far Cry 5 (the Resist ending has always been the true ending) but the Collapse didn’t happen in Far Cry 6. To justify this, the devs said each Far Cry game had “its own stories and world” and that they were only loosely connected so, basically, they all take place in different universes, now. It didn’t stop them from bringing back or mentioning characters from previous games (Boomer, Hurk, Willis, Longinus), including dead ones (Vaas, the Seed family), which makes everything even more confusing and even less coherent.

I don’t know who the protagonist could be. Jason is either dead or alive and traumatized, Ajay possibly is the new leader of Kyrat so he’s busy, the Deputy is in a bunker with Joseph (or… somewhere, if you’re in the Far Cry 6 universe), and Dani is alive and well in Yara, I suppose. They could theoretically all meet in the USA (if Ajay goes back “home” and Dani goes to Miami, for example) but it’s a huge country and the chances of them stumbling upon each other are very slim unless one of them wants to find the others.

As for the antagonist, most of them are dead… unless you’re in the Far Cry 6 universe and they’re fine, I guess (except for Antón who was going to die soon anyway, but this could be “retconned” in the story). Joseph just wants to be left alone with his Family and you would have to visit Hope County to meet him, Vaas isn’t really an “evil genius”, and I suppose Pagan just wants to enjoy his retirement without anyone bothering him so I don’t see any of them be the main antagonist in the story. The Highwaymen were present all over the USA and terrorizing everyone in New Dawn but they only prospered after the Collapse so, if it didn’t happen, do they even exist? If the story takes place in 2022, Mickey and Lou are still children so they can’t be villains. Their father, Vince, could be one but we know very little about him and, again, if there’s no Apocalypse, how can he become a post-Apocalyptic leader?

Sticking to canon is nearly impossible because the official “Far Cry universe” (if it’s even still a thing, now) is already inconsistent and contradictory. If you want to take everything into account, some things won’t make sense…

Of course, we can just throw canon and logic out the window and do whatever we want (Far Cry 6 and its DLCs already kind of did that, anyway). Bring back who you like, create new characters and new connections between them, invent reasons for them to travel to the Rook Islands, Kyrat, Hope County, and Yara. Willis has visited all four places so he can help with that. Hurk is friends with Jason, Ajay, and the Deputy (and even the Captain, in the future) so he can help too. In official DLCs, Ajay magically turned into a Yeti, Nick fought arachnids and an evil A.I. on Mars, Hurk became a robot, and Vaas came back to life after being stabbed so, at this point, there’s nothing stopping you from doing whatever you want in your own alternate universe. I don’t know what I would do if I had to write a crossover story but, if you want to do it, don’t let anything (not even what’s left of “canon”) stop you. Go wild! Go crazy! Live your dream :D

You made martyrs of my family… and I am prepared to do the same to yours.” Joseph Seed’s unnervingly calm voice slipped into Veronica’s dreams, waking her from a fitful sleep with a gasp. She clutched her chest and slowed her breathing to inhibit her pounding heart, barely contained by sweat soaked skin.

Almost exactly a year ago Joseph Seed was arrested, his ‘Collapse’ only a figment of a demented mind.

Ronnie saved the County, saved her friends, and saved herself that day; but thinking back on it she felt an unmistakable frustration. After all the trauma, blood, death, all she got was a new office and a shiny Sheriff’s Accommodation Award to hang on the wall. The deputy went through a drastic change in her months trapped in Hope County- becoming a warped, twisted image of the woman she’d been before. It amused her how before the ‘Reaping’, as the peggies called it, she really thought she had life figured out. ‘I didn’t know a fucking thing…’ She thought bitterly.

❈ FC5 Cult Zine 2021 contribution ❈

I had the pleasure to take part in the 2021 edition of the Far Cry Cult Zine: it’s been a wonderful opportunity to write articles about the Collapse, the Angels and the Bliss and to share  some love for Eden’s Gate  with the community while having a lot of fun joining a unique project. A big warm thank you again to @juniors0possum​ for all the hard work and your patience with me, you’re amazing ♥ And a big thank you too to you all of you for the likes and the reblogs!

❈ The Collapse ❈

 Finally, it’s coming.

An insatiable fire is consuming the world, as the mountains are shaking and the forests are bent under the merciless breath of the Lord. The sky is now an ocean of stormy clouds, and soon there will be nothing left of the old world, this decadent and rotten living hell that none of us will regret.

The Father was right. His Holy Word was nothing but the purest truth and we, the lucky ones who have welcomed his love into our hearts, are the privileged witnesses of this beautiful chaos, this apocalyptic salvation. The damned and the weak, the politicians and the corporations, the big cities and our modern society built on sin, the skeptics who chose to remain blind to the sufferings around them, the ungrateful who demeaned us for all these years, all of them know their last moments, devoured by fear and agony. In a single scream, they celebrate a truth we knew for so long thanks to the Family and oh, God, I must confess, it is so good, I can almost hear them over the sound of the bombs. It is the sweetest music we could have wished for to say farewell to our previous lives, definitively. Our houses are destroyed, the fields are burning just as the lakes are boiling, and soon the ground on which we were born, have lived, loved, laughed but also suffered, cried and lost so much before joining Eden’s Gate and working so hard for our survival will be reduced to a desert of irradiated ashes ; it is what we have been prepared for, what our hearts prayed for during countless days. Sorrow and fear have no place in our souls, not at all: nothing but joy overwhelms us as we are eventually freed from all that kept us far from the happiness we deserve, we the angels, we the chosen. Humanity has been lost for so long, our acclamations salute with relief the righteous wrath of the Divine cleaning the Earth from its corruption. The reckoning is here.

Gathered in a small makeshift bunker, we join our hands and pray together: we thank the Heavens for delivering us, we thank Joseph for having shared his visions with us. Sadly, we don’t know where our Father is, nor if he is even alive. Some say he has faced this evil Deputy one last time, this bloodthirsty demon who destroyed our Gates and nearly condemned us to the same death as the unbelievers, but no means of communication can allow us to contact the others who, with the help of God, have hurriedly found a shelter too when the bombings started. We are on our own, without our dear Heralds by our side and to be honest, I am not even sure if we have enough food and water down here to survive till the world is reborn. We had all the supplies we needed in the Gates, the wait could have been so safe and comfortable, all reunited in the bunkers the Seeds built for us. John, Jacob and Faith should have been with us. Joseph should be acclaimed as the Prophet he is. But hope remains, just as we do, and our faith will not waver. It will be difficult but we will make it: their sacrifice will not be in vain. We will survive, like we always had, even without our Shepherd, even if the Heralds were more than worthy to watch the Prophecy be fulfilled and are deeply missed.

We have been trained for this. We have been cleansed from our sins to be able to build a future for our children. We have walked the Path and been rewarded for this.

In seven years, we will step into the light and get reunited to build a new world. I don’t know if I will make it myself, but at least some of us will and it’s all that matters. My soul will be with them whatever happens ; this thought warms my heart, as a new tremor makes the walls of our small haven quake.

 Together we will march to Eden’s Gate. The Garden will welcome us with open arms. We just have to wait a bit more.

  ❈ The Angels ❈

 Tirelessly, they walk upon this land, ghosts of flesh, white carcasses mumbling snippets of our holy songs.

 They are the pawns of the Henbane River but you can also meet them in the Valley, working at the Green-Busch fertilizer factory or following our patrols along the trails. From the most secluded places where our Project blooms to the compound of our beloved Father, we have learned to live with them by our side, like second shadows hanging around, waiting for a new task to achieve. To be fully honest, even if all God’s creations are beautiful and all the accomplishments of the Project deserve the greatest admiration, I must say that they scare me a bit. Even with their head shaved and their mouth forever hidden by a muzzle, some of them remind me of my former neighbors, eyes turned white by the Bliss and faces tarnished with bruises. And I may be wrong, but… Some of them sound like some of my brothers who went missing after aggravating a Chosen, don’t they? A chill makes me shiver nearly every time I hear their slow footsteps behind me, as they drag themselves barefoot, head haloed of a light green mist.

Make no mistake about them: they are fierce protectors of Eden’s Gate, not the grotesque zombies from the Hollywood horror movies. They work hard in the flower fields in the East, like no other member of the Family for sure. Day and night, never tired, never thirsty, never hungry, never weary, they are eager to help and would do anything they are asked for without any hesitation or discontent. And you should see them fight like madmen against the unbelievers who threaten us, or the wild beasts haunting the woods! Their rage equals the one with which the Lord will clean this world when the Collapse comes. As you watch them screaming with full lungs, running to their target only armed with a knife or a hoe, your heart can only be filled with a powerful awe mixed with a vague and deep terror, believe me. Nothing could stop them, fear itself seems to have abandoned them to their unending slavery. If the Judges created by Jacob are undoubtedly the strongest of the pack and the best version of themselves, revealed by the serum, the Angels are… Different. Their name may let you think they are peaceful and soft creatures, and they do belong to the Garden, equals of the Children of the Father; nevertheless a part of their humanity has been sacrificed so they can be free from sin, and that makes them unpredictable, turning from stillness to savageness in a heartbeat. Thank God they are on our side… Even if at the slightest sign of rebellion, I won’t hesitate to shoot them right in the head, those damn scary bogeymen.

If I had to put it in a nutshell, I’d say they are as eerie as Faith is divine. We are blessed to have our Siren guiding our Angels on the Path, preventing them from turning into monsters, just as the Father protects us from the sinners and from vice. Like a puppeteer, our sister cherishes and leads them onto the righteous path, living reminders that too much Bliss can quickly get to one’s head… All of a sudden, serving the Project as the most humble recruit seems way more enticing, after all. There are worse ways to enter Eden.

  ❈ The Bliss ❈

 There is a place here, in Hope County, that doesn’t appear on any map.

 It is said to be in the Henbane River and if you ask several of the followers of the Project here, each of them will give you a different description of it, but with the same delight on their faces, the same wonder in their voices.

You don’t need any compass or any trail to find it, a simple sip of the glowing water from the river or a puff of the green vapors pouring from the barrels all around the three regions will do. You just have to have faith, in a word.

Once you’ve abandoned yourself wholeheartedly to the gleams dancing before your eyes, you’ll enter a world of wonders like no other. The grass is softer than the softest meadow, the mist all around you is a comfortable blanket embracing the world. Mythical animals thrive here in peace, wandering among the flowers and between the twisted trunks that chart the way to a peaceful tree. Oh, to sit under its leaves and to listen to the soft breeze…

Believe it or not, but a Siren lives here. Her laugh is as sweet as her grace is flawless, as she dances and sings along, a queen gently guiding her guests into her realm. If you’re lucky enough you could even witness a group of worshipers gathered around a Prophet, drinking every word dripping from his lips like honey.

 It can be yours, you know. All of this. Just take her hand; a leap of faith is all that it costs, a one-way ticket to the Garden on earth. The Path is clear at the very moment when you believe.

What do you think happened to the Seed family after the secret ending where deputy refused to arrest Joseph? I'm thinking they either all got the mental help they needed, or they continued the cult in prison and gained an even bigger following.

I'd say that there are two answers: if you consider the canon ending (to choose the secret ending, you have to meet Joseph at his church, and to trigger this event, the regions have to be liberated... and the Heralds to be dead, sadly), or if you think about a fanon ending, in which the whole family survives even if the County is in the hands of the Resistance.

If Joseph is the only Seed remaining, I think he'll gather what remains of the Project with the help of the Deputy's friends, keeping them under the effects of the Bliss. The Collapse is still impending, even if the bombs don't fall at the same moment as in the Resist ending (I'm still convinced that it will happen even if the Deputy abandons their allies): they'll find the biggest bunker possible (or several ones and split the group + leave as many notes as possible to ask the Project survivors they would have not found in time to look for a shelter and to wait for their reunion 7 years later) and hide down there, following Joseph's Prophecy. The Resistants are first held captive, as there is no more Bliss to keep them compliant, and the members of the Project make sure they don't try to kill Joseph or to get out ; the bombings are quite a shock for them, and I think it'd be super interesting to see who, among them, will follow the same path as the Dep/Judge and who will stay in denial, refusing to believe the Collapse happened or that it's due to God's will/that Joseph was right.

If the whole family is alive when the Dep gives up on their mission, I picture the Heralds spying on them from afar while they talk in front on the church, as Joseph's island has become their last remaining territory and where they run away when they lost their regions (Joseph wants to have a final one-to-one encounter with them ; not the safest idea but Jacob is ready to use his rifle the second he thinks Dep is going too far). When Dep leaves, it's quite the same scenario, except that it's easier for them to gather members of the Project as the Heralds has brought some with them when they fled from their lost regions. They do all they can to get ready for the Collapse, and wait all together for the Garden.

A few days ago, this blog has hit the 100 follower milestone, and I wanted to share this moment with you: thank you, thank you so SO much. This blog has no other purpose than saving FC5 stuff I like, I still can’t believe you are so many here (another proof that FC5 is a wonderful thing in so many ways ♥) . Unfortunately, I think it will be a long time before I can get to seriously work on my personal OCs, but I really wanted to celebrate this humble step, so after a verrry long time, I’m back at it for a small giveaway! Few details about the prize:

I feel more comfortable with writting for the Seed family, but we can absolutely discuss in pm your request to determine how I can write something you’ll enjoy reading. I haven’t played FC New Dawn so FC5 requests are preferred (but thanks to a certain amount of spoilers, I can for instance write something for ND Joseph ; again, we can discuss that at the end of the giveaway),

As a request, you can send me a quote, a prompt, a sentence, a song, even a gif or a screenshot, anything that you could enjoy seeing turned into a small fic!

Can be a NSFW request, or a request implying gore/violence. I’ve not written a lot of smut, and it was an eternity ago, but I’m fine with this. Obsviously, no problematic subjects such as rape, incest, etc.
