WHEN I MISS YOU… THINKING ABOUT YOU… DREAMING OF YOU…
CREATING MOMENTS WITH YOU… WONDERFUL MOMENTS.
MOMENTS THAT DON'T NEED WORDS… I JUST NEED YOUR IMAGE ENGRAVED IN MY MIND TO FEEL HAPPY… THAT'S HOW STRANGE AND IMMENSE IS MY LOVE FOR YOU.
IN MY MIND I HEAR YOUR SWEET MELODY…
I FEEL THAT YOU'RE BY MY SIDE…
CREATING MEMORIES OF LOVE… MAGICAL MOMENTS… DREAMS OF LOVE.
AT ALL TIMES… THINKING OF YOU… YOU MAKE ME FEEL MORE ALIVE THAN EVER.
MY LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER SINCE YOU WALKED INTO IT.
MY HEART LEAPS WITH JOY AND HAPPINESS…
I HOLD YOU, WITHOUT WANTING TO LET YOU GO.
I WANT TO SPEND MY LIFE WITH YOU… THIS IS MY DREAM…
MY REALITY… ALL I KNOW IS THAT… YOU'RE MY LIFE… I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL ❤
LONELY NIGHTS… ILLUMINATED BY YOUR BRIGHT LIGHT… I'M LIVING BETWEEN TWO WORLDS… MY REALITY AND MY DREAMS AND FANTASIES… MY DAYS AND MY NIGHTS…
IN MY DAYS THINKING OF YOU… IN MY NIGHTS DREAMING OF YOU… LOOKING AT THE STARS THAT ILLUMINATE MY SKY, THAT SAME SKY YOU SEE…
AT ALL TIMES WITH YOU, IN MY MIND AND IN MY HEART FOREVER… THIS IS MY WORLD, THIS IS MY LIFE… IN MY WAY, A TIME FOR US.

PADDINGTON IN PERU brings Paddington's story to Peru as he returns to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.
Joslin saw the vet because she is an old lady with an old lady body, and she's been reluctant to preen herself properly. She is 10 years 5 months old, and that is ancient, but other than some tendon calcification in a couple places, she's doing great. She spent the entire visit standing on the table here and Alarm Calling to let me know there were People Outside.
I feel like the whole office came through to see her and give her some pats. Apparently turkeys generally try to Commit Murder when they're brought in, and they are also hugely obese- like, Joslin weighs a nice 9lbs, but the vet said she is currently seeing a tom that weighs 55lbs. Not a broad-breasted tom, either. I cannot imagine letting a bird get like that. It merited a "This is what turkeys are SUPPOSED to look like" to the techs as she felt Joslin up.
Joslin was very polite to everyone, thankfully. She even puffed up and strutted to one of the techs who bravely stayed put while asking me "is she going to attack me, normally they attack me when they do this." I got explain to him no, I'm sorry, she just thinks you're a sexy lady and she's, like, always horny. I don't know if that's worse, but it's less physically damaging at least.
My daughter has a pet turkey named Joslin. She hatched her at my house before she bought and moved to her own home. She hatched in 2012. She has always been one of my favorites at the farm. Maybe because she began her life at my home.
Every time I go to the farm and call for her
“Jossssssilynnnnn”
She calls back and comes to me. She loves dandelions. I always tried to have some for her. Or blackberries. Or some treat.
She is getting older now. She would likely have a difficult time surviving another Michigan winter. My daughter is waiting until I get home so I can see her one more time. Give her treats one more time. Then she will cross the rainbow bridge.
I will miss her greeting me when I visit the farm but know she will be in a better place. Rest easy sweet Joslin 🩷
April 29th is World Wish Day! Originally established by the Make-A-Wish foundation in 2010, the day has since become a day to enfold wish making and granting into our daily lives. On this day, we're sharing Pinkety, Pinkety A Practical Guide to Wishing for inspiration and instruction on how to make the most of wishes.
Pinkety, Pinkety A Practical Guide to Wishing was written by children’s literature author Sesyle Joslin (b. 1929), illustrated by Luciana Roselli, and published by Harcourt, Brace & World in 1966. Joslin wrote many books throughout the late 50s and 60s, including a Caldecott Honor publication What do You Say, Dear? Illustrated by Maurice Sendak (1928-2012) and published in 1959.
While Joslin worked with several different illustrators over the years, all of her books visually share a deep sense of whimsical imagination. Roselli’s intricate line drawings within Pinkety, Pinkety A Practical Guide to Wishing bring the story to life in fantastical scenes that follow a young girl on her wish making adventures.
