The hatred for Shannon Keisha and the moms are just projection and misogynior nothing more

Hate for Shannon is projection from insecure woman mad she had the confidence to go after what she wanted and they don’t or a girl like her stole their man and now they hate on every girl that reminds them of her! Bc I know yall aren’t the same people who made sure my fault London (is it okay as long it’s a yt woman doing it?) was getting trilogy and yall aren’t the star black woman who was giggling and kicking your feet at that sibling ship yes I said it siblings but coming for Shannon and using them being cousins as decide to have on her plz be fr yall aren’t the same people who love GoT and HOD and literally ship kids with their uncles and brothers so it’s not even about that!

can’t even say much on Shelly bc her hatred is giving forced bc she’s a single mom and yall have this mindset about them already so you just projecting on her! She was giving her everything for Keisha everytime like sorry she wasn’t there for Keisha about the video she didn’t even know bc she’s was making sure her daughter had every opportunity and everything she needed working 3 fcvking jobs to pay for it! none of the characters in the show is someone who deserves hate and if it was it’ll be Christian and that was pre him apologizing but still none of them! it’s clear yall aren’t used to seeing flaws black characters bc the way yall act like they commit atrocities crimes when yall be stanning like defending the most vile non black characters is so funny to me!

For those of you who don't know, I am completely obsessed with actress Lovie Simone, and the trailer of her new show has been released.

Forever is a tv adaptation of a Judy Blume book of the same name about two high schoolers losing their virginity. This adaptation is an epic love story of two Black teens exploring romance and their identities through the awkward journey of being each other’s firsts, set in Los Angeles, 2018.

While I'm excited about this show, I would like to address a decline of black girl representation in the YA category. #Wherearetheblackgirls has started because we noticed that young black actresses are barely getting cast in YA media. Our fight for our representation will continue, and part of this is supporting black YA projects when they're released. I'm asking if we can support the cause by supporting this show.

Five day until we meet Jeisha (Justin x Keisha)

a lot of the people calling keisha toxic i feel, didn’t watch the show through the lense of a 17 year old girl. yes keisha hurt justin but her actions were not malicious. she did not actively set out to hurt him. in her mind she was doing what was expected of her. her mother did not provide a safe space for her to come forward with the christian situation. shelly even admits it. everyone around her was pushing christian on her despite keisha’s visible discomfort whenever he was around or brought up.

keisha simply was navigating how most teenagers do. she felt she had to protect her mother, not the other way around. so she grinned and bared all of the bs. her biggest fear was hurting her mother. you guys forget justin’s, parents although dawn was firm, were a safe space for him. they allowed him to express himself emotionally. eric was consistently reminding justin to feel his emotions and to not run away from them. keisha didn’t receive that, im not saying shelly was a bad mother but she was emotionally absent. those of you saying you would’ve told your mother, you may have had a more emotionally safe relationship with her.

keisha is just a young teenage girl, feeling like she has to grow up quickly. with a father that comes and goes, an emotionally absent mother. she truly was sorta raising herself. she watched shelly internalize her emotions and figured that that’s what she’s supposed to do.

you guys throw around the word toxic to freely. it’s frustrating. keisha is complex and flawed but she’s not toxic. do i agree with how she handled things? no. but i understand because if i was her i would’ve rationalized and felt like those were the right things to do as well. most teenagers would. the whole she could’ve handled it better is easier said than done when you’re watching with adult eyes and a mature mindset.

loving Forever on Netflix so far, so much thought went into the characters and their lives and stories are sooo important and relatable. Justin being neurodivergent, Keisha feeling so much pressure at home with her mom because she’s no longer a scholarship student. the moments where we see Justin struggle with school, or see how different Keisha’s upbringing and lifestyle is vs the people she’s usually around. and Michael Cooper jr is sooooo fine like I #needthat. I love it and it’s making me wish I had a HS romance story
