తాత్పర్యము : మరల మానవజన్మను పొందుటకు ముందు, ఈ నరకయాతనలను అన్నింటిని అనుభవించి, పిదప కుక్కగా, నక్కగా నీచ యోనులలో పుట్టి క్రమముగా పెక్కు కష్టములను అనుభవించును. ఆ విధముగా అతని పాపములు అన్నియును ప్రక్షాళనము కాగా, మరల అతడు మనుష్యుడుగా జన్మించును.

MEANING : Having gone through all the miserable, hellish conditions and having passed in a regular order through the lowest forms of animal life prior to human birth, and having thus been purged of his sins, one is reborn again as a human being on this earth.

PURPORT : Just as a prisoner, who has undergone troublesome prison life, is set free again, the person who has always engaged in impious and mischievous activities is put into hellish conditions, and when he has undergone different hellish lives, namely those of lower animals like cats, dogs and hogs, by the gradual process of evolution he again comes back as a human being. In Bhagavad-gītā it is stated that even though a person engaged in the practice of the yoga system may not finish perfectly and may fall down for some reason or other, his next life as a human being is guaranteed. It is stated that such a person, who has fallen from the path of yoga practice, is given a chance in his next life to take birth in a very rich family or in a very pious family.

Thus end the Bhaktivedanta purports of the Third Canto, Thirtieth Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled "Description by Lord Kapila of Adverse Fruitive Activities."

Of the singers of the gods [Gandharvas] I am Citraratha, and among perfected beings I am the sage Kapila. The fig tree (aśvattha) is one of the most beautiful and highest trees, and people in India often worship it as one of their daily morning rituals. Amongst the demigods they also worship Nārada, who is considered the greatest devotee in the universe. Thus he is the representation of Kṛṣṇa as a devotee. The Gandharva planet is filled with entities who sing beautifully, and among them the best singer is Citraratha. Amongst the perpetually living entities, Kapila is considered an incarnation of Kṛṣṇa, and His philosophy is mentioned in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Later on another Kapila became famous, but his philosophy was atheistic. తాత్పర్యము : స్వవర్ణాశ్రమోచిత కర్మలు, యజ్ఞయాగాది క్రతువులు, ప్రతిఫలాపేక్ష లేని దానములు, వివిధములగు తపస్సులు మొదలగు సాధనముల ద్వారా భగవంతుని పొందవచ్చును.

🌴 8. Entanglement in Fruitive Activities - 34 🌴

34. kriyayā kratubhir dānais tapaḥ-svādhyāya-marśanaiḥ ātmendriya-jayenāpi sannyāsena ca karmaṇām

MEANING : By performing fruitive activities and sacrifices, by distributing charity, by performing austerities, by studying various literatures, by conducting philosophical research one can realize the Godhead.

PURPORT : As it is stated in the previous verse, one has to follow the principles of the scriptures. There are different prescribed duties for persons in the different social and spiritual orders. Here it is stated that performance of fruitive activities and sacrifices and distribution of charity are activities meant for persons who are in the householder order of society. There are four orders of the social system: brahmacarya, gṛhastha, vānaprastha and sannyāsa. For the gṛhasthas, or householders, performance of sacrifices, distribution of charity, and action according to prescribed duties are especially recommended.

Similarly, austerity, study of Vedic literature, and philosophical research are meant for the vānaprasthas, or retired persons. Study of the Vedic literature from the bona fide spiritual master is meant for the brahmacārī, or student. Ātmendriya-jaya, control of the mind and taming of the senses, is meant for persons in the renounced order of life. All these different activities are prescribed for different persons so that they may be elevated to the platform of self-realization and from there to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, devotional service.

🏵 స్వామి విశుద్ధానంద - 2 🏵

విశుద్ధానంద: ఈ నాడు ప్రపంచాన్ని ముంచి వేస్తున్న పాశ్చాత్య నాగరికతా మహాప్రవాహంలో అందరూ కొట్టుకు పోతున్నారు. మన సంస్కృతి చులకనై పోయింది. దీనిని ఆపగల శక్తి మనకుందా? పరమాత్మ: నిజమే. కాని చీకటిని తిడుతూ అకర్మణ్యంగా కూచోటము కంటే చిరుదీపం వెలిగించవచ్చు. పరమ గురువుల కృప ఉంటే ఏదైనా సాధించవచ్చు. విశుద్ధానంద: మీరు చెప్పిన దానితో నేను ఏకీభవిస్తున్నాను. అయితే మహాప్రభంజనంలో అల్లల్లాడే చెట్ల ఆకులవంటి వాళ్ళమేమో! అని ఆత్మ విశ్వాసం సన్నగిల్లుతున్నది.

పరమాత్మ: లేదు. లేదు. గురుకృప ఉన్న వాళ్ళం మనం. అధైర్య పడరాదు. దానికి మీ జీవితమే ఒక ఉదాహరణ. మీరిద్దరు మిత్రులు వైరాగ్యం కలిగి సన్యాసం తీసుకొన్నారు. సిద్ధ గురువుల సేవచేసి కొన్ని శక్తులు లభించిన తర్వాత మీ గురువుగారు సన్యాసం విసర్జించి సంసారం స��వీకరించి లోకంలోకి వెళ్ళి ధర్మ ప్రచారం, ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రబోధం చేయమని ఆదేశించారు. గురువుగారి ఆజ్ఞను తలదాల్చి సంప్రదాయ విరుద్ధమైనా మీరు ప్రపంచంలోకి వచ్చారు. మీకు మరిన్ని సిద్ధ శక్తులు ప్రాప్తించినవి. గురు వాక్యం కంటే ఆచార వ్యవస్థకు ఎక్కువ ప్రాధాన్యం ఇచ్చిన మీ మిత్రుడు గురుశాపంవల్ల ఉన్న శక్తులు పోగొట్టుకొని అధోగతిపాలైనాడు. కనుక మహాగురువులను నమ్ముకొని ముందుకు వెళుదాము.

విశుద్ధానంద: స్వామీ! దివ్యచక్షువు వికసించిన మహనీయులు మీరు. నా భవిష్యత్తును గూర్చి చెప్పవలసినదిగా అభ్యర్థిస్తున్నాను. నాకు కర్తవ్య ప్రబోధం చేయండి! పరమాత్మ: ఈ ప్రపంచంలో ఏది సాధించాలన్నా తపస్సు ప్రధానం. యద్దుష్కరం యద్దురాపం యద్దుర్గం యచ్చదుస్తరం తత్సర్వం తపసాప్రాప్యం తపోహి దురతిక్రమం మానవ ప్రయత్నం వలన దేనిని పొందలేమో దానిని తపస్సు వల్ల సాధించవచ్చు. అయితే తపస్సు చేయటం చాలా కష్టం. కానీ ఆ మార్గంలో పురోగమిస్తున్నవారు మీరు. తీవ్రంగా తపస్సు చేయండి. దానివల్ల పుట్టే అగ్నిని మీరు తట్టుకోలేని స్థితి వస్తుంది. శరీరం మంటలు పుడుతుంది. దానిని నివారించుకొని ముందుకు వెళ్ళే ప్రక్రియ చెపుతాను. నేను అనాదిగా నాగజాతి వాడిని. ఆ నాగ విద్యలు నాకు ప్రతిజన్మలోను సంక్రమిస్తుంటవి. ఒక విద్య మీకు తెలియజేస్తున్నాను. దానివల్ల సర్పములు మీకు వశమవుతవి. ఉత్తమ జాతి సర్పములను మీ దగ్గర ఉంచుకోండి. అవి మీ శరీరానికి చుట్టుకొని మీకు చల్ల దనాన్ని ఇస్తుంటవి. వాటి భయం వల్ల మీ అనుమతి లేకుండా మీ గదిలోకెవరూ రారు. మీ మహిమలను చూచి, విని ఆకర్షించబడి ఇప్పుడు దేశాన్ని పరిపాలిస్తున్న ఆంగ్లేయ జాతీయులు మీ దగ్గరకు వస్తారు. వారిలో కొందరివల్ల మీకు కీర్తి పెరుగుతుంది. కొన్నాళ్ళకు కాలవశాన ఈ శరీరం పతనమవుతుంది. అయినా మీరు తపస్సు చేసిన నవముండీ ఆసనం ప్రఖ్యాతమవుతుంది.

విశుద్ధా: స్వామీ! ఆ తరువాత? పరమాత్మ: త్వరలోనే మరొక జన్మవస్తుంది. నీయందు అభిమానం కల మిత్రుడు స్వామి నిఖిలేశ్వరానంద నిన్ను గుర్తించి కొన్ని దివ్యశక్తుల ననుగ్రహిస్తాడు. వాటివల్ల పేరుప్రతిష్ఠలు లభిస్తవి. ఇవన్నీ వచ్చే శతాబ్దం చివర. విశుద్ధానంద: స్వామీ ! మళ్ళీ మనం కలుస్తామా? పరమాత్మస్వామి : నీకు నిఖిలేశ్వరానందతో, శివచిదానందతో ఉన్నంత అనుబంధం నాతో లేదు. నాకు శివచిదానందకు ప్రగాఢమైన ఆత్మీయత. ఆయనకోసం నేను దక్షిణ దేశంలోని కుర్తాళ పీఠానికి వెళ్ళవలసి వస్తుంది. ఆ మజిలీలో మనం మళ్ళీ తప్పక కలుస్తాము. దైవ నిర్దేశం ప్రకారము వాటి సంకల్ప వికల్పాలుండ గలవు. ఇప్పటికిది. విశుద్ధానంద: ఇటీవలి కాలంలో నాకు అత్యంత సంతృప్తికరమైన కలయికయిది. సెలవు. పరమాత్మ స్వామి: శుభమస్తు! 🌴. కోరికల కారణంగా, అజ్ఞానం మరియు భ్రమలో ఉన్న జీవి (సంవాహ్య) బయటికి వెళ్లి ప్రపంచంలోని ఇంద్రియ వస్తువుల మధ్య తిరుగుతుంది. 🌴

ఒక యోగి ఆధ్యాత్మిక శక్తిని నేను, నన్ను మరియు నావి పెంచుకోవడం కోసం నిర్దేశిస్తే, అతని పతనం మరింత తీవ్రంగా ఉంటుంది. ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఆధ్యాత్మిక పతనం ఆరోహణ కంటే తీవ్రంగా ఉంటుంది. తన స్పృహతో సంబంధం లేకుండా భగవంతునితో ఎల్లవేళలా అనుసంధానమై ఉండాలని ఈ సూత్రం స్పష్టంగా చెబుతోంది. అనుకోకుండా, అతను కోరికల నుండి ఉద్భవించే కోరికలను అభివృద్ధి చేయడం ప్రారంభిస్తే, అది యోగి యొక్క పతనాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది. అప్పుడు అతను అజ్ఞానం, భ్రాంతి మొదలైన వాటన్నింటినీ ఒక్కసారిగా తనలోకి తెచ్చుకోవడం ద్వారా మరొకసారి అనుభావిక వ్యక్తిగా మారి మరింత మార్పులకు సిధ్దం అవుతాడు.

If a Yogi directs this energy to glorify I, me and mine, his fall will be more drastic. Always spiritual fall is more drastic than ascension. This aphorism clearly says that one has to always remain connected to the Lord, irrespective of his state of consciousness. If by chance, he begins to develop desires arising out of wants, it signals the downfall of the yogi. He then comes under the grip of ignorance, illusion, etc all at the same time, thereby making him yet another empirical individual ready for further transmigrations..

Learn Sankhya Philosophy with the Sanskrit Text Sankhya Karika - Part I - HUA

This course is the first of a two-part series on Sankhya Darshana (Philosophy), based on the Sanskrit book 'Sankhya Karika' by Ishvara Krishna. It is a short book with just 72 Karikas, which are short verses that explain Rishi Kapila's Sankhya Darshana. It is very important to understand the basic ideas of Sankhya philosophy if you want to understand other Sanskrit works like the Bhagavad Gita and other Vedic philosophical systems like Yoga and Vedanta.  

Sankhya Darshana through the Sankhya Karika – Part I Contents of the course:  

It is said, "na hi Sankhya samam gyanam, na hi yoga samam balam" i.e., There is no knowledge like Sankhya, and there is no power like Yoga. Sankhya Darshana was one of the first ways of thinking that tried to find a permanent answer to problems like birth and death, getting old, getting sick, and being sad. In his search for a permanent answer, Sankhya came up with a deep way of thinking about the universe and where humans fit into it. Sankhya thought that a good understanding of the twenty-five Tattvas, which are the basic building blocks of the universe, would lead to a complete and permanent end to human suffering.  

In this two-course set, the Sankhya Karika of Ishvara Krishna will be used to teach the basic ideas of Sankhya philosophy. In the first course, we will look closely at Karikas 1–30.  

A karika is a name used in the field. It generally has two lines, like the shlokas in the Bhagavad Gita. So, in the first quarter, we will cover about half of the Sankhya Karika. The last 42 Karikas will be taught in the second course in the series. Students will learn new things about Sankhya philosophy, which many scholars mistakenly call a dualistic, atheistic theory.  

You don't need to know anything about Sanskrit or Sankhya philosophy to take this course. The students will get a PDF file with each karika written in both Devanagari and Roman writing, along with the word meanings and short explanations. PDF files will also be made available for extra reading materials.  

The goals of this course are for students to be able to:  

a) Understand the basics of Sankhya Philosophy.  

b) Learn all the technical Sanskrit words you need to know.  

c) Learn the basics so that you can also understand works like the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita.  

d) Learn to appreciate other philosophical schools and be motivated to learn more about Vedic systems like Vedanta, Mimamsa, Yoga, Nyaya, and Vaisheshika.  

e) Get a deep understanding of the ideas of "mind," "atma," "ego," and "intellect," as well as how the world came to be.  

Structure of the class:  

Each week, there will be at least one 90-minute contact hour with one or more teachers. The class is set up so that each week's self-study and reflection can lead to talk and debate. Even though each class will only talk about the same topic for 60 minutes, the conversation time will be open-ended and can go on for up to 30 more minutes. Students will have to take notes on the Karikas that were talked about. They don't have to be as good as papers written for school, but they should be based on what the student has learned and understood so far.

श्रीमद्‌ भगवद्‌गीता यथारूप 4.16 किं कर्म किमकर्मेति कवयोऽप्यत्र मोहिताः । तत्ते कर्म प्रवक्ष्यामि यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् ॥ ४.१६ ॥ TRANSLATION कर्म क्या है और अकर्म क्या है, इसे निश्चित करने में बुद्धिमान् व्यक्ति भी मोहग्रस्त हो जाते हैं । अतएव मैं तुमको बताऊँगा कि कर्म क्या है, जिसे जानकर तुम सारे अशुभ से मुक्त हो सकोगे । PURPORT कृष्णभावनामृत में जो कर्म किया जाय वह पूर्ववर्ती प्रामाणिक भक्तों के आदर्श के अनुसार करना चाहिए । इसका निर्देश १५वें श्लोक में किया गया है । ऐसा कर्म स्वतन्त्र क्यों नहीं होना चाहिए, इसकी व्याख्या अगले श्लोक में की गई है । कृष्णभावनामृत में कर्म करने के लिए मनुष्य को उन प्रामाणिक पुरुषों के नेतृत्व का अनुगमन करना होता है, जो गुरु-परम्परा में हों, जैसा कि इस अध्याय के प्रारम्भ में कहा जा चुका है । कृष्णभावनामृत पद्धति का उपदेश सर्वप्रथम सूर्यदेव को दिया गया, जिन्होनें इसे अपने पुत्र मनु से कहा, मनु ने इसे अपने पुत्र इक्ष्वाकु से कहा और यह पद्धति तबसे इस पृथ्वी पर चली आ रही है । अतः परम्परा के पूर्ववर्ती अधिकारियों के पदचिन्हों का अनुसरण करना आवश्यक है । अन्यथा बुद्धिमान् से बुद्धिमान् मनुष्य भी कृष्णभावनामृत के आदर्श कर्म के विषय में मोहग्रस्त हो जाते हैं । इसीलिए भगवान् ने स्वयं ही अर्जुन को कृष्णभावनामृत का उपदेश देने का निश्चय किया । अर्जुन को साक्षात् भगवान् ने शिक्षा दी, अतः जो भी अर्जुन के पदचिन्हों पर चलेगा वह कभी मोहग्रस्त नहीं होगा । कहा जाता है ;की अपूर्ण प्रायोगिक ज्ञान के द्वारा धर्म-पथ का निर्णय नहीं किया जा सकता । वस्तुतः धर्म को केवल भगवान् ही निश्चित कर सकते हैं । धर्मं तु साक्षात्भ ग वत्प्र णी तम् (भागवात् ६.३.१९) । अपूर्ण चिन्तन द्वारा कोई किसी धार्मिक सिद्धान्त का निर्माण नहीं कर सकता । मनुष्य को चाहिए कि ब्रह्मा, शिव, नारद, मनु, चारों कुमार, कपिल, प्रह्लाद, भीष्म, शुकदेव, यमराज , जनक तथा बलि महाराज जैस��� महान अधिकारियों के पदचिन्हों का अनुसरण करे । केवल मानसिक चिन्तन द्वारा यह निर्धारित करना कठिन है कि धर्म या आत्म-साक्षात्कार क्या है । अतः भगवान् अपने भक्तों पर अहैतुकी कृपावश स्वयं ही अर्जुन को बता रहे हैं कि कर्म क्या है और अकर्म क्या है । केवल कृष्ण भावना मृत में किया गया कर्म ही मनुष्य को भवबन्धन से उबार सकता है । ----- Srimad Bhagavad Gita As It Is 4.16 kiṁ karma kim akarmeti kavayo ’py atra mohitāḥ tat te karma pravakṣyāmi yaj jñātvā mokṣyase ’śubhāt TRANSLATION Even the intelligent are bewildered in determining what is action and what is inaction. Now I shall explain to you what action is, knowing which you shall be liberated from all misfortune. PURPORT Action in Kṛṣṇa consciousness has to be executed in accord with the examples of previous bona fide devotees. This is recommended in the fifteenth verse. Why such action should not be independent will be explained in the text to follow. To act in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, one has to follow the leadership of authorized persons who are in a line of disciplic succession as explained in the beginning of this chapter. The system of Kṛṣṇa consciousness was first narrated to the sun-god, the sun-god explained it to his son Manu, Manu explained it to his son Ikṣvāku, and the system is current on this earth from that very remote time. Therefore, one has to follow in the footsteps of previous authorities in the line of disciplic succession. Otherwise even the most intelligent men will be bewildered regarding the standard actions of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. For this reason, the Lord decided to instruct Arjuna in Kṛṣṇa consciousness directly. Because of the direct instruction of the Lord to Arjuna, anyone who follows in the footsteps of Arjuna is certainly not bewildered. It is said that one cannot ascertain the ways of religion simply by imperfect experimental knowledge. Actually, the principles of religion can only be laid down by the Lord Himself. Dharmaṁ tu sākṣād bhagavat-praṇītam (Bhāg. 6.3.19). No one can manufacture a religious principle by imperfect speculation. One must follow in the footsteps of great authorities like Brahmā, Śiva, Nārada, Manu, the Kumāras, Kapila, Prahlāda, Bhīṣma, Śukadeva Gosvāmī, Yamarāja, Janaka and Bali Mahārāja. By mental speculation one cannot ascertain what is religion or self-realization. Therefore, out of causeless mercy to His devotees, the Lord explains directly to Arjuna what action is and what inaction is. Only action performed in Kṛṣṇa consciousness can deliver a person from the entanglement of material existence. -----

21. Of the Adityas, I am Vishnu; of luminaries, the radiant Sun; of the winds, I am Marichi; of the asterisms, the Moon.

22. I am the Sâma-Veda of the Vedas, and Vâsava (Indra) of the gods; of the senses I am Manas, and intelligence in living beings am I.

Srila Prabhupada met his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura in Vrindavana. No doubt, modern technology, and its applications have made our life comfortable but not peaceful, full of pleasure but devoid of inner happiness. Even a scientist has to discover – the self within to be happy and in peace. What is original has some different substance in it that cannot be compared with what we replicate every day in technology and its applications. An Ancient Greek mathematician, Archimedes ran out of the bathroom, naked crying ‘Eureka’ – I found it. Wikipedia writes – ‘He was asked to determine whether the dishonest goldsmith had substituted some silver, in the crown of a king. Archimedes had to solve the problem without damaging the crown, so he could not melt it down into a regularly shaped body to calculate its density. While taking a bath, he noticed that the level of the water in the tub rose as he got in and realized that this effect could be used to determine the volume of the crown’.

The journey to kundalini does not divide us as seen in modern teachings. It discovers the unity and oneness within.  The division in material and spiritual lives causes ignorance, says, masters. And ignorance causes suffering that includes fears, confusions, wrong notions, and strong likes and dislikes.

One can start the journey by self-assessment as taught by the masters because it makes a transition in life and makes a seeker. A seeker who does initial practices of Viveka (discernment of what I am and what I am not) clears his mind. The second principle  Vairagya (dispassion and not delusion) , awakens to six inner treasures ( while dissolving six enemies of cravings, obsessions, agitation etc. ) of conscious relaxation, refining the sense perception to see what is right and good in life, working on the mind to express calm, discipline and educating the mind etc.

తాత్పర్యము : ఐనప్పటికిని ఇంత వరకును అతనిచే పోషింపబడిన వారే, అతనిపై పెత్తనము చలాయించెదరు. ముసలితనము కారణముగా అతని రూపము మారిపోవును. క్రమముగా శరీరము వ్యాధిగ్రస్తమగును. వృద్ధాప్య ప్రభావంతో వికలాంగుడైన అతను అంతిమ మరణాన్ని ఎదుర్కోవడానికి తనను తాను సిద్ధం చేసుకుంటాడు.

MEANING : The foolish family man does not become averse to family life although he is maintained by those whom he once maintained. Deformed by the influence of old age, he prepares himself to meet ultimate death.

PURPORT : Family attraction is so strong that even if one is neglected by family members in his old age, he cannot give up family affection, and he remains at home just like a dog. In the Vedic way of life one has to give up family life when he is strong enough. It is advised that before getting too weak and being baffled in material activities, and before becoming diseased, one should give up family life and engage oneself completely in the service of the Lord for the remaining days of his life. It is enjoined, therefore, in the Vedic scriptures, that as soon as one passes fifty years of age, he must give up family life and live alone in the forest. After preparing himself fully, he should become a sannyāsī to distribute the knowledge of spiritual life to each and every home.

తాత్పర్యము : శబ్ద, స్పర్శ, రూప, రస, గంధాది గుణములకు ఆశ్రయమైన ఒకే పదార్థము వేర్వేఱు ఇంద్రియముల ద్వారా వేర్వేరు రూపములలో గోచరించునట్లు, శాస్త్రముల యొక్క వేర్వేరు మార్గముల ద్వారా ఒకే భగవంతుడు అనేక విధములుగా గోచరించును.

వ్యాఖ్య : వివిధ గ్రంథాల మార్గాలను అనుసరించడం ద్వారా, భగవంతుని యొక్క అవ్యక్త ప్రకాశానికి ఒకరు రావచ్చు. అవ్యక్తమైన బ్రహ్మంతో కలిసిపోవడం లేదా అర్థం చేసుకోవడం వల్ల కలిగే అతీంద్రియ ఆనందం చాలా విస్తృతమైనది ఎందుకంటే బ్రహ్మం అనంతం. తద్ బ్రహ్మ నిష్కలం అనంతం: బ్రహ్మానందం అపరిమితమైనది. కానీ ఆ అపరిమిత ఆనందాన్ని కూడా అధిగమించవచ్చు. అది పరమాత్మ యొక్క స్వభావం. అపరిమితమైన వాటిని కూడా అధిగమించవచ్చు మరియు ఆ ఉన్నతమైన వేదిక కృష్ణుడు. కృష్ణునితో ప్రత్యక్షంగా వ్యవహరించేటప్పుడు, అతీంద్రియమైన బ్రహ్మం నుండి పొందిన ఆనందంతో కూడా, భక్తి సేవ యొక్క ప్రత్యుత్పత్తి ద్వారా ఆనందించే మధురమైన మరియు హాస్యం సాటిలేనిది.

🌴 8. Entanglement in Fruitive Activities - 33 🌴

33. yathendriyaiḥ pṛthag-dvārair artho bahu-guṇāśrayaḥ eko nāneyate tadvad bhagavān śāstra-vartmabhiḥ

MEANING : A single object is appreciated differently by different senses due to its having different qualities. Similarly, the Supreme Personality of Godhead is one, but according to different scriptural injunctions He appears to be different.

PURPORT : By following various scriptural paths, one may come to the impersonal effulgence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The transcendental pleasure derived from merging with or understanding the impersonal Brahman is very extensive because Brahman is ananta. Tad brahma niṣkalaṁ anantam: brahmānanda is unlimited. But that unlimited pleasure can also be surpassed. That is the nature of the Transcendence. The unlimited can be surpassed also, and that higher platform is Kṛṣṇa. When one deals directly with Kṛṣṇa, the mellow and the humor relished by reciprocation of devotional service is incomparable, even with the pleasure derived from transcendental Brahman.

Prabodhānanda Sarasvatī therefore says that kaivalya, the Brahman pleasure, is undoubtedly very great and is appreciated by many philosophers, but to a devotee, who has understood how to derive pleasure from exchanging devotional service with the Lord, this unlimited Brahman appears to be hellish. One should try, therefore, to transcend even the Brahman pleasure in order to approach the position of dealing with Kṛṣṇa face to face. As the mind is the center of all the activities of the senses, Kṛṣṇa is called the master of the senses, Hṛṣīkeśa. The process is to fix the mind on Hṛṣīkeśa, or Kṛṣṇa, as Mahārāja Ambarīṣa did (sa vai manaḥ kṛṣṇa-padāravindayoḥ (SB 9.4.18)). Bhakti is the basic principle of all processes. Without bhakti, neither jñāna-yoga nor aṣṭāṅga-yoga can be successful, and unless one approaches Kṛṣṇa, the principles of self-realization have no ultimate destination.

ఈతడు భూమికి ఆశ్రయము మాత్రమే కాదు, భూమికి 'లక్ష్మీ' అనగా శోభ కూడ ఈతడే. లేదా భూః అనగా భూలోకము; భువః అనగా భువర్లోకము లేదా అంతరిక్షలోకము. లక్ష్మీః అనగా ఆత్మవిద్య. Athavā, na kevalamasau bhūḥ bhuvaḥ, lakṣmīḥ śobhā ceti bhuvo lakṣmīḥ, Athavā, bhūḥ bhūlokaḥ; bhuvaḥ bhuvarlokaḥ; lakṣmīḥ ātmavidyā 'Ātmavidyā ca devi tvamˈ' iti śrīstutau. Bhūmyantarikṣayoḥ śobheti vā bhūrbhuvo lakṣmīḥ.

Not only is He splendor of the earth, but also splendor of bhuvar loka. Bhūḥ is bhūloka, bhuvaḥ is bhuvarloka, lakṣmīḥ is ātmavidya vide the śruti 'ātmavidyā ca devi tvam' - 'Devi! You are ātmavidya'

He is śobha or splendor of the earth and the sky; so Bhūrbhuvo Lakṣmīḥ.

స్వామి : కవిగారూ! మీరీరోజు ఉదయం భైరవాలయానికి వెళ్ళి దర్శనం చేసుకొని సెలవు తీసుకొంటూ ఏమి కోరుకున్నారు?

రామకవి : మీతో చెప్పాలంటే భయ సంకోచములు కలుగుతున్నవి. అయినా మీరు దివ్య దృష్టి కలవారు. నేను చెప్పకపోయినా మీకు తెలుస్తుంది.మీ వంటి మహాత్ములు అరుదు. మీరు మా వంశంలో పుడితే అటు ఏడు తరాలు ఇటు ఏడు తరాలు తరిస్తవన్న విశ్వాసంతో ఆశతో ఆ కోరిక కోరి భైరవ స్వామిని ప్రార్ధించాను. విచిత్రంగా నేనిక్కడకు వచ్చిన సమయానికి మీరు భైరవాష్టకం చదువుతున్నారు. నన్ను అనుగ్రహించమని మిమ్ము వేడుకొంటున్నాను.

స్వామి : మీరక్కడ ప్రార్థించినప్పుడే భైరవుని పరివారంలోని శంఖపాలుడనే వీరుడు నాకు తెలియజేసి భైరవస్వామి మీ ప్రార్ధనను అంగీకరించాడని చెప్పినాడు. మీరు కోరినది భైరవేచ్ఛ. హిమాలయ సిద్ధాశ్రమ యోగులు నా జీవిత గమన ప్రణాళికను నిర్ణయిస్తారు. అప్పుడు మీరు కాంక్షించింది జరుగుతుంది. నేనీ శరీరంలో మరికొన్ని దశాబ్దాలుంటాను. తరువాత దక్షిణదేశ సంచారానికి బయలు దేరి యేల్చూరు వచ్చి కొండమీది నరసింహస్వామిని దర్శనం చేసుకొని అక్కడే శరీరాన్ని వదిలి పెడతాను.

అయితే అప్పటికి మీ వంశంలో రెండు తరాలు గడుస్తవి. మీకు ముని మనుమడుగా పుట్టి కవినై గ్రంథరచన చేస్తాను. సిద్ధాశ్రమ యోగుల కృపవల్ల, భైరవుని అనుగ్రహం వల్ల నాకు పూర్వజన్మ స్మృతి కలుగుతుంది. దేశవిదేశాలు తిరిగి ధర్మప్రచారం చేస్తాను. ప్రస్తుతానికి వచ్చిన కర్తవ్య సూచన యిది. ఒక చిన్న కోరిక. నేను నరసింహస్వామిని దర్శించటానికి వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆ దేవతావల్లభుని స్తుతించటానికి మంచి శ్లోకాలు చెప్పండి. నేను చదివిన భైరవాష్టకం ఏ ఛందస్సులో ఉందో ఆ ఛందస్సులో పలకండి!

రామ కవి ఆశువుగా ఆ ఛందస్సు - సుగంథివృత్తంలో నారసింహాష్టకం శ్లోకాలు సంస్కృతంలో పలికాడు.

స్వామి: కవీశ్వరా! సంస్కృతాంధ్రాలలో సమానమైన అసమానమైన ప్రజ్ఞ మీది. చాలా సంతృప్తి కలిగింది. ఈ శ్లోకాలు చెప్పినట్లే శంకరులవారి కరావలంబ స్తోత్ర ఛందస్సులో కూడా పలకండి! మీరు రమణీయంగా తడుముకోకుండా ఇంత అందంగా శ్లోకాలు చెప్పుతుంటే ఇంకా ఇంకా అడగాలని అనుపిస్తున్నది. రామకవి: నేను ధన్యుణ్ణి. ఇంతకంటే కావ���సింది ఏముంది? అంటూ వసంత తిలక వృత్తాలు పలికాడు.

🌴. Due to desires, the ignorant and deluded being (samvāhya) is outbound and moves among the sense objects of the world. 🌴

This yogi’s consciousness automatically gets disconnected from the Lord and gets focused on the objective world. Spiritual energy is significantly different from other energies that exist in this universe. Spiritual energy continues to gain potency only if it is focused on the Lord. If, on the contrary is focused on the materialistic world, it loses its potency completely.

If his actions are not selfish in nature, his divine energy continues to swell. But, on the other hand if he directs this energy to glorify I, me and mine, his fall will be more drastic. Always spiritual fall is more drastic than ascension.

వ్యాఖ్య : బహిర్ జాత-విరాగాయ అనే పదానికి బాహ్య మరియు అంతర్గత భౌతిక ప్రవృత్తి నుండి నిర్లిప్తతను పెంచుకున్న వ్యక్తి అని అర్థం. అతను కృష్ణ చైతన్యానికి సంబంధం లేని కార్యకలాపాల నుండి విడదీయ బడడమే కాకుండా, అతను భౌతిక జీవన విధానం పట్ల అంతర్గతంగా విముఖంగా ఉండాలి. అలాంటి వ్యక్తి అసూయ పడకుండా ఉండాల�� మరియు మానవులకే కాకుండా ఇతర అన్ని జీవుల యొక్క సంక్షేమం గురించి ఆలోచించాలి. శుకాయే అనే పదానికి బాహ్యంగా మరియు అంతర్గతంగా శుద్ధి చేయబడినవాడు అని అర్థం. వాస్తవానికి బాహ్యంగా మరియు అంతర్గతంగా శుద్ధి కావడానికి, భగవంతుని పవిత్ర నామాన్ని, హరే కృష్ణ లేదా విష్ణువును నిరంతరం జపించాలి.

🌹 Kapila Gita - 359 🌹 🍀 Conversation of Kapila and Devahuti 🍀 📚 Prasad Bharadwaj 🌴 8. Entanglement in Fruitive Activities - 42 🌴 42. bahir-jāta-virāgāya śānta-cittāya dīyatām nirmatsarāya śucaye yasyāhaṁ preyasāṁ priyaḥ

MEANING : This instruction should be imparted by the spiritual master to persons who have taken the Supreme Personality of Godhead to be more dear than anything, who are not envious of anyone, who are perfectly cleansed and who have developed detachment for that which is outside the purview of Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

PURPORT : The word bahir jāta-virāgāya means a person who has developed detachment from external and internal material propensities. Not only is he detached from activities which are not connected to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, but he should be internally averse to the material way of life. Such a person must be nonenvious and should think of the welfare of all living entities, not only of the human beings, but living entities other than human beings. The word śucaye means one who is cleansed both externally and internally. To become actually cleansed externally and internally, one should chant the holy name of the Lord, Hare Kṛṣṇa, or Viṣṇu, constantly.

The word dīyatām means that knowledge of Kṛṣṇa consciousness should be offered by the spiritual master. The spiritual master must not accept a disciple who is not qualified; he should not be professional and should not accept disciples for monetary gains. The bona fide spiritual master must see the bona fide qualities of a person whom he is going to initiate. An unworthy person should not be initiated. The spiritual master should train his disciple in such a way so that in the future only the Supreme Personality of Godhead will be the dearmost goal of his life. In these two verses the qualities of a devotee are fully explained. One who has actually developed all the qualities listed in these verses is already elevated to the post of a devotee. If one has not developed all these qualities, he still has to fulfill these conditions in order to become a perfect devotee.

వ్యాఖ్య : ప్రారంభంలో, భక్తి సేవ యొక్క అత్యున్నత స్థాయికి ఎవ్వరూ ఎదగలేరు. ఇక్కడ భక్త అంటే భక్తుడిగా మారడానికి సంస్కరణ ప్రక్రియలను అంగీకరించడానికి వెనుకాడని వ్యక్తి అని అర్థం. భగవంతుని భక్తుడిగా మారడానికి, ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువును అంగీకరించాలి మరియు భక్తి సేవలో ఎలా పురోగతి సాధించాలో అతని నుండి విచారించాలి. ఒక భక్తుడికి సేవ చేయడం, ఒక నిర్దిష్ట లెక్కింపు పద్ధతి ప్రకారం పవిత్ర నామాన్ని జపించడం, భగవంతుడిని ఆరాధించడం, సాక్షాత్కరించిన వ్యక్తి నుండి శ్రీమద్-భాగవతం లేదా భగవద్గీతను వినడం మరియు భక్తికి భంగం లేని పవిత్ర స్థలంలో నివసించడం. భక్తి సేవలో పురోగతి సాధించడానికి అరవై నాలుగు భక్తి కార్యక్రమాలలో మొదటిది. ఈ ఐదు ప్రధాన కార్యాలను అంగీకరించిన వ్యక్తిని భక్తుడు అంటారు.

ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుకు అవసరమైన గౌరవం, మర్యాదను అందించడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉండాలి. అతను తన తోటి సాధకుల పట్ల అనవసరంగా అసూయ పడకూడదు. బదులుగా, ఒక తోటి సాధకుడు కృష్ణ చైతన్యంలో మరింత జ్ఞానోదయం పొంది, అభివృద్ధి చెందినట్లయితే, ఒకరు అతన్ని దాదాపు ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుతో సమానంగా అంగీకరించాలి. అలా కృష్ణ చైతన్యంలో పురోగమించడం చూసి ఒకరు సంతోషించాలి. కృష్ణ చైతన్యాన్ని బోధించడంలో భక్తుడు ఎల్లప్పుడూ సాధారణ ప్రజల పట్ల చాలా దయతో ఉండాలి ఎందుకంటే మాయ బారి నుండి బయటపడటానికి అదే ఏకైక పరిష్కారం. ఇది నిజంగా మానవతా పని, ఎందుకంటే ఇది చాలా ఘోరంగా ప్రవర్తించే వ్యక్తులపై దయ చూపే మార్గం. శుశ్రుషాభిరతయ అనే పదం ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుకు సేవ చేయడంలో నిష్టగా నిమగ్నమయ్యే వ్యక్తిని సూచిస్తుంది. ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుకు వ్యక్తిగత సేవ మరియు అన్ని రకాల సుఖాలను అందించాలి. అలా చేసే ఒక భక్తుడు ఈ జ్ఞానాన్ని స్వీకరించడానికి మంచి అభ్యర్థిగా ఉంటాడు.

MEANING : Instruction should be given to the faithful devotee who is respectful to the spiritual master, nonenvious, friendly to all kinds of living entities and eager to render service with faith and sincerity.

PURPORT : In the beginning, no one can be elevated to the highest stage of devotional service. Here bhakta means one who does not hesitate to accept the reformatory processes for becoming a bhakta. In order to become a devotee of the Lord, one has to accept a spiritual master and inquire from him about how to progress in devotional service. To serve a devotee, to chant the holy name according to a certain counting method, to worship the Deity, to hear Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam or Bhagavad-gītā from a realized person and to live in a sacred place where devotional service is not disturbed are the first out of sixty-four devotional activities for making progress in devotional service. One who has accepted these five chief activities is called a devotee.

One must be prepared to offer the necessary respect and honor to the spiritual master. He should not be unnecessarily envious of his Godbrothers. Rather, if a Godbrother is more enlightened and advanced in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, one should accept him as almost equal to the spiritual master, and one should be happy to see such Godbrothers advance in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. A devotee should always be very kind to the general public in instructing Kṛṣṇa consciousness because that is the only solution for getting out of the clutches of māyā. That is really humanitarian work, for it is the way to show mercy to other people who need it very badly. The word śuśrūṣābhiratāya indicates a person who faithfully engages in serving the spiritual master. One should give personal service and all kinds of comforts to the spiritual master. A devotee who does so is also a bona fide candidate for taking this instruction.
