I love your art. sorry if you've been asked this before but do you have any advice for someone who's just getting into art. I know there isn't some magic ritual to draw good but some advice on where to start would be appreciated
Here is my personal advice as someone who has done furry commission work for about 4 years. I consider the following to be highly essential information that I think about to this day: 1: Don't forget to have fun and be yourself! 2: Keep your room clean and try to sleep well. It goes a long way! 3: Get a password manager. You're gonna need it for all the accounts you will be making. Bitwarden and KeepassXC are good. 4: Backup all your stuff on either an external hard drive, cloud, usb storage, etc. Backup your password manager info too. 5: Name your files thoughtfully and keep everything sorted. 6: Try to draw every day. A 5 second doodle counts! 7: Do not compare your skill level, popularity, and age with other artists. All that does is inflict damage to yourself. 8: Don't worry about originality or "cringe." None of that matters. Don't be ashamed of your fetish, either. 9: Engaging with drama, callout culture, and policing people is bad for you. It doesn't really do much besides make enemies. 10: Put your art on different websites! You never know when a platform decides to fall apart. 11: Don't draw for clout. Draw what you want. You'll be way happier in the long run. 12: Sometimes you'll get a weird dm or a rude comment. Such is life. I highly recommend finding a healthy way to handle it. 13: RESEARCH!!!!!!! Look for references! Study anatomy, color, composition, plants, animals, poses, anything. If you see anything and think "woah that looks cool!" STUDY IT!!!! Knowledge will always help you!!! 14: Don't think too much about your art style. It develops eventually and even then it's something that constantly changes.

Descubra o Tails: o sistema operacional que esquece tudo
Tumblr media
O projeto TOR financia parte do desenvolvimento com a Mozilla, a Foundation for Freedom of the Press e o projeto Debian. Read the full article

This option exports all the information stored in the database, including attributes, annotations, notes, etc.Īnother new feature in this KeePassXC release is the addition of a database statistics panel that shows information like the number of entries, unique passwords, non-unique passwords, number of short and weak passwords, average password length, and more, as well as the full path to the database and the last time it was saved. This way you can safely store your credentials away from your computer. KeePassXC 2.5.0 comes with a new "Export to HTML file" option (available in the Database -> Export menu), also called Paper Backup, because this allows you to easily print your credentials in clear text on paper. It's also worth noting that KeePassXC has not had an external security audit due to the "considerable price" this would involve. There's no cloud synchronization built into KeePassXC, but this can easily be done through third-party cloud provides like Dropbox, Google Drive, Nextcloud, and so on.Īs for web browser integration, KeePassXC supports this with the help of an extension available for Firefox or Chrome-based (Google Chrome, Chromium, Vivaldi, etc.) web browsers.Ĭompared to KeePassX, KeePassXC includes numerous extra features, including auto-type on Linux, Windows and macOS, Twofish encryption, YubiKey challenge-response support, TOTP generation, CSV import, the already mentioned browser integration (with the use of a browser extension), and even a command line interface, among others. For its database, KeePassXC uses the KeePass 2.x (.kdbx) password database format as its native file format in versions 3.1 and 4, using AES encryption with a 256 bit key. The application is built using Qt and runs on Linux, Windows and macOS. KeePassXC is a free and open-source password manager started as a community fork of KeePassX (which itself is a fork of KeePass), which is not actively maintained. KeePassXC 2.5.0 was released recently with important improvements, like an option to export a database to an HTML file (for paper backup), database statistics, re-enabled Wayland support, and more.

They can be life savers when you loose access to your phone or authentication program.KeePassXC cannot open database on GDrive Backup folder. If you go for it, don't forget to safely store the backup codes that some services provide. Choose for yourself if this brings additional benefits, depending on your threat modeling. All in all, we would advise two-factor authentication. We're not going to describe the benefits of multi-factor authentication. It is also less convenient to the average user. While two-factor authentication is generally considered to increase security, it offers additional surface for cyber-attacks such as Phishing, identity theft (SIM swap attack) or SMS hijacking (SS7 attacks).

Make sure to separate the words by a space.Ĭourtesy of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The combination of these words is your secure password. Eight words should be completely secure through 2050. According to Diceware's FAQ, this is unbreakable with any known technology, but may be within the range of large organizations by around 2030. Actually, 7 words are recommended – depending on the password entropy calculator, this achieves an entropy of approximately 90 bits. How long should a password be? Repeat the previous steps until you have at least 6 words. Look up the corresponding word in the Diceware list, and write it down. Roll a dice 5 times and write down the numbers. There are many others to choose from, in several languages. For example the original list, or the list provided by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The diagram below demonstrates the process above. In this example, the secret key is BAIM32FJEP2E2DZH. Right-click on any entry > TOTP > Set up TOTP. A QR code appears > Click the link "Can't scan QR code"? (3) You will get a menu Authentication app > Start > Enter password. (2) From the left menu > More > Settings and privacy > Security and account access > Security > Two-factor authentication > Two-factor authentication > Check authentication app. I generated those somewhere else and then edited the screenshots below. Just so you know, the secret key, QR code, and backup codes below are not taken directly from a real Twitter account. Other online accounts like Facebook or Youtube account are similar to this example. If the GIF image is not clear, click on it to enlarge.Ĭlick to expand. In this tutorial, I use Twitter as an example. Watch the animated GIFs below for demonstrations. If the password shows excellent on the KeepassXC strength meter, it will pass other password strength testing sites. The KeepassXC password generator/strength meter is the best so far when compared to other password strength meters I've found on search engines.
#Authy desktop generator#
Use the KeepassXC password generator to generate and measure the strength of your password. A strong password must contain at least 20 characters with random characters. Use strong, randomly generated passwords for your online accounts. If backups are not enabled, you will lose your 2FA tokens. Notice: This process takes 24 hours it cannot be rushed due to security protocols. Start the Account Recovery Process by going to our Account Recovery page.
#Authy desktop how to#
Watch this tutorial on Password Bits on how to get started with Bitwarden. If you reinstall Authy, but don't have access to another Authy app installation, you will need to recover your account. If you don't have the time to backup your passwords, you can use an online password manager like Bitwarden or Lastpass. The database is stored locally on your PC, so you must back it up into a USB drive now and then. If your house gets burned, you will lose your passwords, unless you backup the database somewhere else. It comes with a TOTP function, password generator, password strength meter function, the ability to assign a specific icon for any type of password.Ĭons of using KeepassXC as password manager: Choose your operating system and then click on Download - find out if your computer is using a 32-bit or a 64-bit. Download Authy for your computer: If you are a staff member you can download Authy for your computer directly from. It is safe as long as you keep the KDBX database offline. Download Authy for desktops, laptops and Macs 1. You can set an easy-to-memorize password as your database master password. SMS or push authentication on mobile or desktop because theyre offline or out. Pros of using KeepassXC as password manager: After May 1, 2023, access to Voice and SMS on the Authy API will cease. I think I will see a way to run the software isolated like using Sandboxie, I don't know yet.Read on the official website here for details: Some people concern about security of 2FA software on Desktop, I appreciate reporting me about this, but in my situation I can't rely on Mobile only.
#Authy desktop android#
There are multiple combinations you can use, but I think I will use "Keeweb" on Desktop and Android only for 2FA, as for my password manager, I currently use Bitwarden. KeepassXC on Desktop and with KeepassDX on Android and using Syncthing to sync database between them. You could use Keeweb on Desktop and as a PWA on Android (Just visit the on Mobile and add it to Homescreen, Here is how-to) KeePassDX Android (has compatibility with other Keepass and its forks) Pass - All/most platforms (Command line program, but you can use GUI for it) KeepassXC - All/most platforms (a fork of Keepass)
#Authy desktop install#
Keepass - All/most platforms (you need to install a plugin supports TOTP / HOTP / 2FA) Ok, thank you so much fr your contributions, I will list what have been mentioned here in this comment. Authentication is available through the mobile and desktop apps as well as short message service (SMS), email, and phone calls.

Keepassxc synchronization

KEEPASSXC SYNCHRONIZATION FULL
KEEPASSXC SYNCHRONIZATION PASSWORD
I requested this feature 2.5 years ago but it is still not implemeted. I read quiet often that there was a breach because of a misconfigured cloud service (an employee accidental opened the cloud storage to everyone), and this happened also to the big players in the cloud storage business.Īnd setting up my own instance is no option (I am not good enough for this and have not enough time). Storing passwords on cloud servers is risky.Įven if the file is SHA-256 encrypted, it is hackable (takes some times but it is feasible). There are many missing features and many security concerns on my side: Thank you very very much for your detailed answer, it contains really very good information and arguments!īut I am still not sure if I should dare to switch to Bitwarden. I hope I could give you even another perspective as to why Bitwarden might be a good option for you.
KEEPASSXC SYNCHRONIZATION PASSWORD
To this date I am a tad proud to say that all the people I introduced Bitwarden to, never lost a single password or had their accounts hacked (to my knowledge). This is were Bitwarden was great for because of all the reasons stated above. So I was looking for something I was able to explain relatively easy to other people in order to share the safety of generated passwords. Because if you want to do these things right, you need to know what you are doing or you are bound to end up in a disaster of lost passwords. Now try to explain your Keepass set up with a file sharing service with different clients on each OS, one way and two-way syncs, different Keepass clients, a key file, the importance of backups and a safe master password to someone who is not all that interested in IT topics. The time came where I wanted share all these cool features with my family, because it really hurt my soul seeing them struggling with passwords (where did I hide my sticky note, what service is this password for again and uh I don’t know if I have an account there, ah yes I have because I can’t register with my email so let’s just reset the password) and if you are the IT guy, you probably already know what’s coming next.
KEEPASSXC SYNCHRONIZATION FULL
If it was only about me, I would still be using Keepass and all its alternative applications on each different OS (yes it is intense work to get to trust each different work, but mostly initial work) since they are full of cool features and mostly work seamlessly with each OS. Check out the roadmapīitwarden still lacks many important features like logging into applications. Most importantly, you can self host Bitwarden if you want.Īlso, more and more features are being added to Bitwarden or will be added. The clients are available in more than 40 languages, which I think is awesome. The bitwarden subreddit is also very active. Bitwarden also has a bug bounty program on Hackerone. If you face any issues, we or the team will help you out. The Bitwarden team is friendly and you can get in touch with them very easily. Lot of people contribute to this project in someway. The app is open source(yes, I know keepass is FOSS) and the community is active. With the premium version, TOTP codes can be stored easily. The web vault is also great and I think you will use it more than the desktop app. You can easily share passwords with your family.īitwarden app is really good. With Bitwarden, you really don’t have to worry about these things. Sometimes the database may even get corrupted. Also setting up synchronization for a Keepass database is also complex. All these clients are made by different developers. It kind of sucks, as it requires some amount of research and time. In the case of Keepass, you have to search and find a suitable client for your OS or browser. Bitwarden clients are available on all major operating systems. But here are some reasons.Īll credentials are synced across devices. I really don’t know if I can convince you to switch. Keepass XC and Keepass DX are really good password managers.

I'm going to look through them and see what seems best for my use case, and start switching to it.
#Keepassxc opens very slowly password#
Luckily now there's a whole heap of these services from vendor specific solutions like Firefox Sync (which has questionable security regarding encryption) to general password managers like 1Password, LastPass, Bitwarden and Dashlane. Giving all my passwords to someone else makes me a bit nervous but I have to rely on the commercial reputation they would lose in a breach to give my confidence that my secrets are relatively secure (for my use case). So I'm giving up control of open source to find a managed service to handle this for me. Manually syncing is difficult and error prone, and I have to fall back to typing in passwords from my mobile app which is painfully slow. I was using Syncthing to sync the Keepass database between devices, but it seems like Syncthing is unexpectedly opening Tor connections (without being configured to do so) which makes me really suspicious and makes it a no go to use in work devices. I was using the Kee Firefox Addon to automatically fill passwords, but in a recent version it's stopped supporting KeePass and become it's own management system that I don't trust or want to use.utomatic filling is both convenient, but it's also important for security it prevents you copy pasting into a forged website if you don't carefully check the domain (which can happen with email phishing attacks). However it doesn't have a native way to automatically fill passwords into pages or sync across devices, so I am looking for an alternative. It's open source, been audited to be relatively secure, and everything is stored in a local file which makes it easy to backup and you know who has control.
#Keepassxc opens very slowly pdf#
The reader supports PDF but also EPUB, MOBI, CHM, XPS, DjVU, CBZ, CBR, CB7 and CBT.
#Keepassxc opens very slowly portable#
I've been using KeePass and it's derivatives (such as KeePassDroid and KeePassXC) for years. Here is a quick overview of the core features that Sumatra supports now (based on Sumatra 3.0): Sumatra is available as a portable version that you can run from any location. However for the rest of us a password manager is likely worth the cost since it's so convenient you're likely to actually use it. However it's really hard to remember lots of strong passwords.Ī password manager does exactly that generate and store strong passwords for lots of sites.Ī password manager is also a huge target if you can infiltrate it you can access all their passwords.įor someone who is a very likely target for sophisticated hackers a password manager is a bad idea - it's a liability, and they should take the effort to do something like diceware. Their email and password is revealed in some online breach of a website, and then these credentials can be used on other websites. One of the most frequent ways people get their accounts hacked is by password reuse. A password manager is one of the best ways for the majority of people to keep their logins secure.Īfter using KeePass and its derivatives for years, the Kee Firefox Addon dropped support for Keepass and it's now less convenient to use.Īfter looking at the alternatives I'm going to switch to an online alternative.

The problem with browsing the Internet is that just about every site seems to require a different password. They say that we shouldn’t use the same password for every site, but it’s tempting. Worse, when we forget our password, we request a reminder by email, so if anyone hacks our email account or can gain access to our email client, then it’s very easy for them to see the password or reminder. Result? If you use a similar password across the Internet, many of your accounts suddenly become vulnerable.
One person recently told me that they use a combination of two words, consisting of the website name, their usual password, plus two numbers. This could work, as long as the website name is fairly familiar and your password follows a consistent trend (so you can remember them, easily).
The other alternative is to use a central password manager that enables you to store all your web passwords, then use one key important password to access the entire database. When you surf the Internet and a site requires your user/pass, all you need to do is log in to the central password manager and it should fill the form information automatically.
KeePass is free and one of the best central password managers. As well as storing your regular web passwords, you could use it to store a digital record of your credit card numbers and other information you use across the Internet. With ultra-strong encryption, there’s no way any hacker will be able to hack in and access your KeePass database, either.
KeePassXC is the “Community Fork” of KeePass. You have to ask yourself: do you prefer and trust individuals from the community producing a free password manager for you to store your personal information or do you head towards a commercial password manager such as 1Password or Password Safe? The choice is yours – some people will prefer to trust their community.
