Something incredible happened: I fell in love with a Korean drama.

So I was idly browsing through tv shows and movies catalogs and came across a Korean series called "Undercover". Aside from the striking poster, I easily recognized the male lead - an actor named Ji Jin-hee. I know him from the first Korean tv show I remember watching from my childhood called Jewel in the Palace. He was Kapitan Jung-ho and I remember him for being so sweet and handsome in that show that I still haven't forgotten the actor's name.

So I checked Undercover out and saw that he has starred with the same actress, Kim Hyun-joo, three times. I thought this was fascinating, so I checked out their other shows.

This is how I came across the best Korean tv series I have ever watched.

I Have a Lover.

I know, right?! Me? Korean show? Stop! But this series is outstanding. The actors, while really talented and affecting, stood out because of the great chemistry between them. The drama is a rollercoaster ride of emotions - everyone will take turns being despicable, pitiful, adorable, and terribly irresistible. I can't stress this enough.

I Have a Lover is the best Korean drama ever. I fell in love with Kim Hyun-joo and even more with Ji Jin-hee who has aged like wine. Hope they reunite for a fourth outing.

Mini-review:

Yeon Sang Ho is a hit-or-miss director for me and, unfortunately, Jung_E is more miss than hit. The actions scenes are solid and the movie does have some interesting ideas about AIs and consumerism, but it never really has time to explore them properly. The CGI isn't horrible, but it's not like it's spectacular either, and the acting is honestly very uneven. To sum up, this movie is rather underwhelming, but it's not very long and it might be useful if you're bored and have nothing else to watch.
