MOTHER: 2009 film from Parasite director Bong Joon-Ho. An incredible tour de force by lead actress Kim Hye-ja whom plays the titular "mother" of the film. I think she was 66 at the time of filming and carries this film throughout. She's mesmerizing. She won just about every Korean "Best Actress" award for this and even one from the LA Film Critics Association. Great performances all around & Bong's direction is on point, as always. He really knows how to create atmosphere & mood w/ any surrounding. Just awesome. It won a ton of awards as well including several U.S. ones but wasn't even nominated for an Oscar. ‘Madeo’ (Mother) 2009, Directed by Bong Joon Ho Mother would do anything and everything to protect son. Her mentally ill son was accused of killing a young woman. She has to prove her son innocence, with no hope in the police investigation, she takes matters in her own hand. The cinematography, costume design, music, acting, color tones, set design and every single thing about this film is perfect. Yes, it's directed. Yes, it's directed by Bong Joon Ho. kim hye-ja plays the role of a mother in this film. Man, her acting is some next level thing. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone. Betapa kehilangan dapat mengubah ritme hidup seseorang secara keseluruhan

Don’t judge a drama by the synopsis.

Gue rasa kalimat ini tepat menggambarkan drama dengan plot twist paling tak terduga dalam perjalanan gue menjadi penikmat drama. Gimana enggak, diawal cerita, pun, disinopsis penonton digiring untuk ‘percaya’ bahwa tema drama ini adalah penjelajah waktu dengan media arloji. Seenggaknya itulah yang gue dan penonton lain pahami sampai tiba diepisode 10. Episode yang menggugurkan semua harapan dan teori tentang kelanjutan, kapankah si tokoh utama perempuan kembali menjadi muda? Namun rupanya itu semua hanya ‘imajinasi’ dan ‘kenangan’ belaka.

Maksudnya?

Tontonlah lalu engkau akan mengerti, yah meskipun beberapa beberan dapat ditemukan dengan sangat mudah jika engkau berusaha.

Light In Your Eyes atau Dazzling berkisah tentang perempuan berusia 25 tahun, Kim Hye Ja, yang bercita-cita menjadi penyiar. Dia jujur, baik dan ceria, tetapi karena ingin menyelamatkan nyawa ayahnya, dia ‘memanipulasi waktu’ dengan menggunakan jam tangan ajaib yang dia temukan di tepi pantai. Hingga akhirnya dia berubah menjadi perempuan berusia 70 tahun. Lain halnya dengan Lee Joon Ha, pemuda yang tak lagi memiliki tenaga untuk mengejar mimpinya menjadi seorang reporter. Ini disebabkan karena kelam dan kerasnya hidup yang dia jalani bersama neneknya. Mereka bertemu dan saling suka.

Meski alurnya rada lambat dan agak membosankan karena lebih banyak mengambil scene Kim Hye Ja yang berusia 70 tahun, tapi drama 12 episode ini sarat makna kehidupan yang bikin gue ‘diem’.

Soal keluarga lebih tepatnya.

Pandangan dari para orangtua tentang anak-anak mereka.

Fenomena klub lansia yang merangkap sebuah usaha dagang alkes dan obat-obatan.

Sikap anak terhadap orangtuanya, yang berpikir bahwa orangtuanya tidak menyayanginya.

Ada juga tentang friendship goal puluhan tahun yang tak jua lengkang oleh waktu.

Hubungan Adik – Kakak (kocak) yang sering berantem tapi sungguhnya saling menyayangi.

Romansa antar dua tokoh utamanya yang manis namun juga suram.

Serta bagaimana kita memaknai waktu dengan bijak.

Drama ini lengkap.

Siapin tisu jika berniat menonton.

Ketika interaksi ibu dan anak perempuannya, saat Kim Hye Ja melihat kenyataan bahwa sebenarnya kaki ayahnya tidak pincang atau ketika engkau telah tiba pada scene menyapu salju. 

Heartwarming sekaligus bikin mata basah.

Dan Nam Joo Hyuk menjiwai banget akting desperatenya.

Keren. Makin cakep pulak.

Sementara, Son Ho Jun berhasil menghempaskan image coolnya sebagai chef dan barista di coffee friends dengan berperan sebagai kakak yang super duper ngeselin dan lucu.
