desc; hi guys!!!! this is self indulgent because it was my birthday at the end of last month so i deserve to write about my favourite icy blue man!! js a sweet preschool teacher reader, who adores children and teaches english, science, and art. kaeya, just dropping klee off.. in turn, wants to put kids in reader!.. i mean, reader did say he liked the idea of having kids. (⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧ too bad y'all gotta wait!! *winky wink*

These past few weeks, you've been tasked with caring for the "terrorist of Mondstadt" by Acting Grandmaster Jean herself — Klee. As bad as people exaggerated her to be, you knew Klee absolutely loves you, even tolerating the fact you disallow her to bomb random things. You don't know why she loves you so much, but you're obviously not complaining at all, hah..

In the daycare you manage, you tuck Klee in for nap time, and ruffle her fluffy blonde hair gently. You let out a sigh of relief, because finally getting Klee to actually sleep was one hell of a task. Your fingers slide behind your waist, wrapping around the apron knot you tied. You grabbed two loose fabrics sticking out, and pulled on it hard. Once you tightened your apron, it was now time to prepare the snacks for the children once they woke up.. and then the activities, as well as outdoor free play. You've sure got a lot on your plate, but you're the true miracle of this daycare.. you're the only one who can herd every kid under control within minutes.

You sped up, walking past small mattresses with sleepy children, to a few large boxes at the back of the room, grabbing the one on top. Spinning on your heel, you struggled slightly to maintain both balance and speed as you rushed out the nap room. Closing the door with your foot, you then speed-walked to the many colourful tables and chairs with scribbles here and there. Opening the box, you start distributing all the snacks, and you can hear a few of your colleagues behind you scurrying over, attempting to aid you.

Everything took a while to prepare, but within nap time, you thankfully had at least 15 minutes left to relax. Usually it'd be 5 minutes or less, but you've got more hands today due to the new interns. Of course, you sat down in a short chair as you reached for your already half empty water bottle.

Though there were a few hiccups throughout the rest of the afternoon till the evening, you made it through the day with happy children and happy parents as always! You personally escorted Klee to the unlocked childproof gate, told her to grab her bag and stuff from her allocated tray. While you waited for her to pack some things, you glanced over at the parents in curiosity. Besides the loud giggling and chattering currently filling the room, you find a strangely familiar figure standing not so far from you. Blue hair, eye patch, tanned skin.. Right! That's Kaeya, the Calvary Captain. He had quite the reputation, both good and bad.. though, you've worked with him during your previous job, and you briefly know what type of person he is. Your thoughts are interrupted by Klee's tackle against your legs, and you nearly fall over, if not for the counter you held onto beside. You simply place your free hand on Klee's head, laughing as you try to find balance.

"Klee, is that your uncle Kaeya?" You speak endearingly, as you look up from her and up to that blue-haired man. Kaeya seemed to make eye contact with you, and you look away for the sake of your dignity. Sure, he was handsome, but you don't think he's into guys.. He's pretty popular among the ladies, too.

Klee ran over to Kaeya, babbling about her day while you follow behind slowly. Kaeya seemed almost surprised, but he had a smile on his face as he knelt down to listen to Klee with full attention on her. His gaze shifted to you every so often, you could tell, but you quietly walked away and hid yourself behind the counter. He watches you momentarily, before Klee starts dragging him away. Kaeya finally takes his eyes off you, and his mind swirls with you while he attempts to keep his mind on bringing Kee home.

What a strange man, what a charming man. Blue hair, an eye patch, and pretty eyes. You swore you saw a vision too.

I promised a post about Mika and how Hoyoverse fucked him up forever ago but I was trying to finish like fifty other wips. I'm nearly done with one at the time of writing this so here's the Mika post absolutely no one asked for.

Let me start off by saying I think this little munchkin is adorable. He definitely has the same kind of things going for him as every other playable character up until this point. A lot of random accessories like tassels, belts etc. And the symbols on his clothes feel very Mondstadt. I enjoy characters the most when they have very aesthetically pleasing outfits. (Venti and Aether are the best examples of this for me). So Mika's outfit was automatically very eye catching for me.

However I do believe he does not look like he belongs in this game. I've noticed other people saying it too but for me personally he just feels so oddly disconnected from the other PC's (I'm just gonna write PC's for playable character instead of spelling the whole thing out over and over and over again.)

Like every PC is automatically noticeable and obvious if you stand them in a group of NPC's but for Mika he's got this brighter color scheme that clashes with character's like Jean and Kaeya who when he stands next to them have darker colors on their outfits. So he stands out more than they do. Maybe if he stood next to like Venti it'd be less noticeable. His hair also is so so bright and most Mondstadters have darker hair or natural looking hair colors except for Sucrose, Klee and Diona (even perhaps Bennett and Razor.)

Like seriously look at him in comparison to everyone else in this shot. He's almost more of an eye sore than Traveler. I'd actually argue that he is more of an eye sore than Traveler. But to be fair Traveler's outfit has gotten two years of time to get used to in comparison. But you know what enough about that let's discuss why Hoyo fucking hates him.

Not only did they give Mika the Scaramouche treatment. Which btw is far far worse for Mika seeing as he is the second to last introduced Mondstadter. He was also dropped right in the middle of: Cyno's first banner (a character people have been excited for for two years). The second part of the Sumeru archon quest, Scaramouche's reintroduction and backstory drop and in an event that already had so many beloved characters that we are already extremely accustomed to/love!

This event will also be gone in a couple more weeks (at the time of writing this.) So people who start playing after 3.1 aren't even going to completely understand how egregiously Hoyo fucked this poor baby up. He's had no mentions literally anywhere before this and was thrust upon us with no warning in the worst way possible. Funny that a post I made like a month or two ago is relevant again. The part where I said Hoyo screws their four stars with shitty writing tactics.

He's supposedly a character that was on Eula's exploration team and they made him feel like he was just created a couple weeks before the update dropped. Why has Eula never mentioned him before???? In fact no character has mentioned him before now. They threw in some random voicelines for him from a couple of the knights and called it a day.

Idk maybe this wasn't their fault and they were forced to include him for some behind the scenes reason but this is the worst character introduction they've had so far.

The worst part for me is that he has nothing to even stand out now that he does exist. He's a cryo polearm apparently so he's gonna automatically be outshined by Rosaria game play wise. Not to mention we one hundred percent didn't need another polearm user.

They gave him far too little screen time to really judge his personality which means we've gotta wait till he shows up again and lord knows when we're gonna get another Mondstadt event. Because I highly doubt they're going to drop him into any story quests any time soon. And who knows if/when he's getting a hangout because the Sumeru four stars are definitely getting their's first. This is definitely the most frustrated I've been at a character introduction in this game.

Also I had no idea where to put this. But his weird little ponytail thing annoys me a little. It reminds me of when I was in high-school and a girl would offer to put a boy's hair in a pony tail. But his hair would always be too short so she'd tug the tiny near nonexistent strands into a hair tie and it'd end up looking similarly to that.

Like it's so stupid just cut that part off or let those hairs roam free it's so weird looking 😬 anyway. I'm done ranting if you read this far I'm kind of shocked actually but regardless thank you. This is such a random post but I needed everyone to know how frustrating Mika is to me.

I still want him though. I just wish Hoyo didn't fuck him up like this.

When you were faced with a panting, exhausted knight telling you that the Cavalry Captain needed your urgent assistance, you really weren’t expecting what you had stumbled upon in the Favonious Headquarters.

Well, Kaeya definitely needed urgent assistance, that was for sure. But not for the reason you’d expect. And thankfully so, if you were being honest with yourself.

Within the chambers of The Spark Knight’s self confinement room sat a navy haired princess, adorned in the finest of silks, waiting for her one true love to come and set her free. Or well, that’s how you supposed Klee saw the situation. Kaeya sat on top of a rather high cabinet with a tiara on his head, the fluff of his cape wrapped around his neck to create a lovely boa, his body draped in a table cloth. His head perked up from his palm when he heard the door squeak open, his bored frown perking up into a small smirk.

“Hello, darling.”

You sent a confused, little wave to him before diverting your attention to the giggling blonde tugging at your shirt. She was wearing a matching set of black horns, a handmade dragon tail and tiny red claw gloves that fit snugly around her small hands.

“Y/N, Y/N!!” She chanted as she shoved a cardboard sword in your hand, bouncing up and down excitedly. “You gotta save your princess!! Dragon Klee is keeping her captive!” The pieces of the puzzle were starting to match up. Kaeya sent a wink in your direction, his way of saying ‘play along’.

“The princess is in danger? Guarded by a ferocious dragon?” You started, before raising your sword. “This is no match for my mighty sword! I, single-handedly, will slay the dragon and have your hand in marriage, my love!”

Kaeya was slightly taken aback when you jumped right into character, raising an eyebrow at your theatrics before chuckling behind his hand. Before he could respond, the youngster jumped into action, hopping on a cardboard box. “Grr! Klee is a dragon, and this is Klee’s princess!” She raised her hands to form claws, her mouth twisted into a large cheshire grin. You gasped dramatically before putting your hands up to your face.

“Oh, no!! A dragon!” You squealed before turning tail and running when Klee leapt off her pedestal. And so the chase commenced. The princess watched in amusement, listening to the both of you laughing and squealing in delight. He was thankful you had come so quickly, Klee was definitely more entertained being chased than protecting him. When the young girl caught up to you, she grabbed your fake sword and plunged it under her arm. This shocked you, but you tried to remain in character. You just hoped she didn’t actually hurt herself when she did that. She fell to the floor with a groan, tongue rolling out of her mouth as she closed her eyes and gripped her chest where her heart was.

“Klee…?” You asked quietly, hovering over her. She peaked one eye open, scowling adorable at you.

“Get the princess!” She whispered loudly before closing her eyes and sticking her tongue out again. After a small sigh of relief, your gaze moved up to the cross legged beauty in front of you. You offered your hand towards him, and he gladly took it, stepping down from his tower gracefully.

“Now kiss!” You hear another hushed whisper, the blonde now sitting up and watching eagerly. The two of you shared a small laugh before looking back at each other. And then, you leaned in, true love’s kiss forming as the both of you locked lips. You only pulled away when you heard a loud cheer coming from The Spark Knight and the frantic clapping of her small hands.

“What a performance… Where did you learn that?” Kaeya chuckled, slipping his tiara off and placing it gently onto your own head.

“Babysitting and looking after my younger siblings. You tend to pick this stuff up.”

Once again, he chuckled. “I’ve never seen anyone look so cute and ridiculous at the same time.”

“Likewise.” You chimed back before pressing another gentle peck to his lips.

As much as Albedo wants to remember your birthday, he just forgets because of many things running through his mind. Especially when it comes to new discovery. He’ll be so sorry when he remembered that your birthday was today-

At first, Albedo had a hard time looking for you. He asked everyone- yes even Diluc, Kaeya, Jean, Klee, everyone- but no one has seen you. Which made him worried since no one has seen you the entire day—

He would literally tear down Mondstadt trying to find you until he remembered that he hasn’t check your house yet. When he finds that you’ve been locked up in your room the entire day, it literally broke his heart- ;w;

He would feel like it’s his fault that you don’t feel special, like bro- he would have a sad puppy face on. He will put his hands on either side of your face and make you face him-

“You are special. You are like the sun. You are like a (God/Goddess). Even if you don’t feel special yourself, you’re special to me. And since you’re my beloved, my (prince/princess), you deserve all the happiness and love in the world. You deserve to feel special on your special day. So smile, I don’t want to see any tears.”

Albedo would do anything you want, probably to make up his forgetfulness- :p if you want cuddles, then cuddles you’ll get. If you want a cake or something, he’ll try to bake something, no promises though. (Its the thought that counts, right? 👀).

Albedo would use his ability of drawing and bringing them to life. He would draw all sorts of things, bunnies, squirrels, flowers, and others. He knew that you love watching him draw and bringing them to life. It honestly warms his heart knowing you love what he’s passionate about.

If you want, Albedo could talk to you about all the things he found out recently. All of the research and things he discovered. If you ever question some things regarding about what he discovered, he would happily try to explain it. (It’s honestly adorable seeing him explaining the things he discovered in his research- 🤧)

At the end of the day (around 11-), he would cuddle with you while laying beside you. Every so often, he would press a kiss on your head.

“Happy Birthday, my love. May many more to come... the next time your birthday come, I promise we’ll celebrate it together properly.”

If you think that Scaramouche doesn’t care about your birthday, then you’re right-! 😃 I’m joking- (unless-). He honestly wants to spend your birthday together with you, but his duty as a Harbinger comes first.

Believe me when I say he feels guilty. Leaving you alone on your special day is honestly low, even for him. He would definitely try to finish all of his missions immediately to get back to you. He would do whatever means necessary to finish them all immediately (he might or might not have sacrificed some people in the process- 👀).

You can imagine his confusion when he couldn’t find you anywhere. He already has something set up for you, all he needs is the birthday person themselves. But he couldn’t you anywhere.

Someone better tell him to check your room or else he would literally tear down the Fatui headquarters just to look for you-! He seriously need to manage his anger- 😓

Scaramouche would find it weird to he finds out that you’ve been in your room for the entire day. At first, he didn’t understand why you’re doing this. But soon, he’ll understand. Afterall, he might’ve done that before..

This guy has no manner whatsoever as he just entered your room like he owns the place- one look at you and the next thing you know is that he’s pampering you- like he’ll be preparing a bath for you and choosing an outfit for you (he’s a fashionista, change my mind 😃). Like bro, who are you and what happened to Scaramouche?

“Tsk. You’re quite a handful, you do know that, correct? Making me go through all this effort to comfort you. Now tell me, who put that idea on your head? Was it your family? Was it someone else? I honestly want to murder whoever put that idea in your pathetic head. ‘Not special to celebrate your birthday’? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. Everyone deserves to feel special, even if its for one day. Scaramouche would pamper you so much, like his personality did a 180- he would be pressing kisses all over your body and praising you like theres no tomorrow. He would help you dry yourself and put on the outfit he chose for you. If your hair is long, he would help styling it.

Celebrating birthday? What’s that? Xiao honestly didn’t think much of it since centuries pass by with his day of birth passing each time, he never really thought much of it. Never bothered celebrating it.

But when he found out (from Verr or Rex Lapis/Zhongli) that the mortals celebrate their birthdays, he honestly doesn’t have a clue on how to celebrate it. So he might seek the help of Verr or the Traveller.

He does his best. Please give him credit for trying- ;;w;; He’ll try his best to make something for you. It won’t be anything grand. A simple picnic near Wangshu Inn with some Almond Tofu and other food-

So when the day of your birthday came, Xiao is nervous. He doesn’t know if you’ll like the surprise or not. But when he started to look for you, he was confused when he couldn’t find you before growing worried.

Unlike the other bois, he would immediately check your room before tearing the place down- when he finds you there, he’s honestly confused again- (poor bby, always getting confused- ;;w;;). When you explain to him that you just don’t feel special during your birthday, Xiao would get worried and upset-

The first thing he does is hug you. Like this is the only thing he knows about comforting someone- its not like he encountered humans that needs comforting- ;w;

“I.. don’t really know what it feels like to not feel special on your day of birth but.. you’re special to me. Isn’t that enough?”

Like broooo, he looks like a sad puppy- he’s honestly lost on what to do. You might as well need to comfort him too 😅. He would try to shower you with affections before dragging you to the picnic he set up.

He would be so relieved if you like or love the picnic he set up. As much as its embarrassing for him, he would allow you to feed him and, if you let him, feed you in return. He will continue to press some kisses on your face, head and hands. Because, like, u really deserve it- 🥺🥺

He would bring you to the highest mountain just near Wangshu Inn and enjoy the view, and possibly go stargazing with you. I can see him knowing how to make a flower crown for some reason :pp so he’ll make a flower crown out of Qingxin flowers and place it on your head-

Kaeya and Venti HCs: Mistletoe [Christmas Celebration 🎉]

Kaeya

When Christmas rolls around in Mondstadt, similar to the Ludi Harpastum, everyone pitches in to decorate the walls of The City of Freedom. Even as everyone rushes around trying to get last minute gifts and preparations done, the Knights still have a responsibility to fulfill so that the citizen can have a peaceful and happy Christmas. Kaeya, being the Calvary Captain despite not having a cavalry to captain, on the surface appears to be a bit of a slacker. Somehow always disappearing when a hoard of slimes appear by the gate and never really partakes in the festivities. The most holiday fun he seems to participate are tavern discounts.

Truth be told, Kaeya doesn’t really celebrate Christmas. Not anymore at least. But should Klee or any of the children in Mondstadt ask for help he’ll participate in whatever antics they decide to throw. Despite it being Christmas, a knight’s work doesn’t stop but surprisingly, Kaeya decides to give the knights some time off to to relax and spend time with family. Everyone is a little bit suspicious about this but the prospect of being able to relax during the holiday’s doesn’t lead many to question what antics Kaeya wants to throw.

Due to his “work”, he’s always aware of where the mistletoes are being placed. Should they be placed above the stairs to a tavern or snuck in-between alley’s he always knows. It’s always fun seeing or even directing two people there to see them get flustered, even if you hit him on his shoulder and say he is the last person that should be playing match maker. He’ll just tease you back and say that he somehow managed to get you to fall for him so maybe his charm isn’t all that fake.

When he see’s you try and push him towards a doorway he’s fully aware has a mistletoe hanging above, he find it amusing. Cute even. You know that he knows, so it becomes a bit of a game to the both of you who walks in first. That is, until Diluc just push’s you both in because it’s cold outside and he does not need to see you two flirt in front of his bar. Not when it’s so close to Christmas.

When you’ve finally given up and walk up to him and raise your hand above the two of you, mistletoe in hand, and look at him expectantly he can’t help but laugh. It makes you flush red and the contrast of your red cheeks to the snowflakes falling down fills a warm space in his heart.

It’s a nice and slow kiss, as soon as it’s over he’s pulling you into another one before you can even catch your breath. Christmas is always hectic with possibilities of the Abyss Order or the Fatui deciding that they want to ruin the holiday’s but for now he can take a small break and enjoy the holidays.

Venti

Venti, despite his appreciation to the festivities and his frequent time being spent at lively places, did not know exactly what a mistletoe was and what it represented. To be fair, the information he was getting was from drunks and he had been asleep for a long time. Despite being the anemo archon and having his very own statue oversee the City of Freedom, Venti didn’t look into traditions if he couldn’t wax ballads with them. Lisa had almost electrocuted him to death when he walked in with you and thought it would be funny to scare you with a bit of anemo and ended up throw the entire library into chaos. He can still feel the static in his hair.

So when he drags you under a mistletoe and says that whoever drags the other under the mistletoe has to buy the other drinks you stare blankly at him. Is this what those drunks were telling him to try an abuse the already broke bard out of more mora? Better yet, why was he doing this to you? You carefully explain, trying to push down the growing pink that spreading through your cheeks, what a mistletoe actually means and that you’re suppose to kiss the person instead of buying them alcohol.

He nods along and even though his ticket to free drinks is lost it doesn’t seem to dampen his mood. In fact, he shines brighter than the Christmas lights over head. He playfully laughs and wraps his arms around you, smushing your cheeks together, and giving you playful kisses. If he can’t get drunk off alcohol then he’ll get drunk of kisses instead. His twin braids glow a bright cyan as the wind picks up, making him your own Christmas light.

As much as you love Venti, it’s a bit embarrassing doing this outside where others can see you so you quickly rush to cover his mouth when he dives for another. When you make up a poor excuse that mistletoe’s are a one use item, he’ll nod along but that smug smile doesn’t disappear. With a quick pluck of his lyre, his anemo powers flow through Mondstadt sending snowflakes flying to the delight of children, and collects every mistletoe the wind can find before depositing them all in front of you.

As bad as it is that Venti technically committed theft, you can’t help but feel flustered but laugh along at his childish methods. Venti is surprisingly more bold and sneaky than people give him credit for and if he has to use his archon powers to sneak a few more kisses in, he’ll do it.

If all else fails, he will Wind's Grand Ode you so you’re dragged under the mistletoe with him. He does not play around so if you ever see feather’s or a harp float by you, your best option is to hang out with a cat. Although you’ll have pouty and sneezing Archon yelling at you. Pick your poison.

You have a meeting with your friends to discuss what to give Albedo for his birthday, Although..

 

“You guys seriously haven’t kissed yet? It’s been nearly a year”

things seemed going in the completely wrong direction “Shhh quiet please, Captain Kaeya. It’s not a big deal, I understand he wanted to take things slow” Still, there are times where you yearn for more than hugs and pecks on your face.

Chitchat along the way, fingers intertwined with his “Not sleepy yet aren’t you?” you bent down and look at him in the eyes “Not at all, I’m rather excited about what you prepared for me” giggled to his answer “Good, 'cause the night is still young!” you have reached your destination, Large fabric covering the grassy ground, a basket filled with snacks lies atop, along with a flower vase to decorate the scenery. Log of wood has bags and books resting against it. The wind bringing the scent of white flowers and the tune of the harp. Moon and star shining bright, needlessly of other light sources.

“We got your favorite,” one of your dishes has turned to Albedo’s favorite “These are canapés, I chose bread base, topped with different types of savory” bite-sized dishes, you know he prefers smaller portions

Pointing to each topping one by one, explaining what each one is made of. In his eyes, you’re like a professional chef

“Bedo, check this one out” you pulled out Fisherman’s toast with clover ketchup, onions, cheese, and heart-shaped parleys “..Fish-Flavored Toast, Klee’s specialty. You’re so thoughtful, I have to thank her later” he pecked your cheek, definitely in love

“And we got desserts- after savory alright Bedo?” His hand was already reaching for the dish, you have to stop his fast hand Brownies, Berry Mille-Feuille, and a jar of chocolate chip cookies are all making him drool “Shall we dig in?” He suggested, perhaps the desserts engaging him.

Your hypothesis was turned down after seeing him having a high appetite for savory, you figured he actually wanted to savor your cooking

 

Hours passed and you both are finally full, cuddling against the wooden log, enjoying the melody floating in the air. His platinum hair reflects the elegant moonlight, half-lidded eyes resting against your neck, handheld on yours. You looked up in the sky- its almost time

“Albedo?” He replied with a sweet hum, glancing up at you “Do you know what day is tomorrow?” “..my birthday. but I still don’t understand why you chose to celebrate it tonight” “Wouldn’t be nicer to receive a gift directly after the clock strikes midnight?” Lifted his chin to face you, he’s so close to you, closer than usual

Both yours and his cheek painted rosy, he cupped your face and look deeply into your eyes. “was all this not my birthday gifts?” “nope.. would you like to find out what it is?”

 

Moon motions overhead, the clock strikes midnight, soft breeze touched exposed skin, the sound of the harp soaring in the sky. stars as the witness, Cecilia as the oath, feelings as vow sealed between the two bodies.

Hand slide by the side of his neck, placing on the backside and pulled him closer, half-lidded eyes slowly closed, chest-pounding hard, tilted your head to the side a little-
