Finally the package from @knitpool arrived.

I brought a doll through their account on Etsy

It took a while to get the box transported 6530 km. But worth the wait.

Very nicely packed. It's a good feeling to open something that looks well made.

And there he is.

Looks very good and seems that he didn't mind the long trip too much. He's a little scrunched up and grumpy, but I think a cold beer and a rest, will help it.

Constantine is ready to go on new adventures.

I'm very happy with how he turned out. It is clearly Constantine and he's well made.

Worth the price. Definitely worth the wait.

It's already happening There's a post with a fair amount of notes about someone submitting a sweater with a meme into their county fair and my local fair has a photography category for pets and the only reason the Agent Carter doll I made (using @knitpool's nanohulk pattern) wasn't blown out of the water by some Star Wars amigurumi was because we were competing in different age groups

If there's a small, likely inconsequential change I want to see in America, it's that I want to see more shitpost submissions to county fairs. Submit crackfic as poetry! Give them a photo of your cat for the photography category! Knit an unreasonable sweater for home crafts! Make that special way you make boxed mac and cheese for the food category! Sew an anime cosplay!

I don't really understand the "ugly christmas sweater" thing but as best as I can tell in order to qualify a sweater usually has 1. extensive colorwork (which is baffling given I now know firsthand how much skill that takes, but whatever), 2. bright and/or contrasting colors (usually red/green/white but others can also occur), and 3. sometimes but not always "christmas" subject matter in the design (obvious things like trees, Santas, reindeer, etc. but can be other things as well)?

To be clear I have no real interest in learning the details of this game and have been sick of christmas shit since late November, but it's inescapable to the point of people running around calling completely normal knitwear ugly christmas sweaters. Like a purposely tacky tinsel-ridden santa or full-coverage red and green trees/stars/whatever is one thing, but on what planet is a small, simple blue and white diamond pattern around the shoulders of a sweater "ugly" or "christmas"???

I wonder if it's possible to deliberately miss the point hard enough that it's obvious you're not trying to play this game.
