One issue I have with Generative programs, is that no one question the results.
Calculators can be wrong, if they are cheaply programmed. (For instance some might give you -a x -a = -2a, which is wrong because math conventions says it's 2a.)
Books can be badly written and have wrong data.
And we know that. We teach people to criticise the results and content.
But it seems like many people trust these generative programs without any question. No looking if the calculations might be wrong, no criticism of the results.
Tools only help, if we train our brain to use them right. I mean I can think of a few actually positive things for generative programs. Majorly corporate bullshit documents that no one like to write and no one is going to read. (But of course getting rid of the bullshit paperwork would be better.) And translation tools are pattern recognition programs that generate an outline, which you of course have to look through and edit. But you need to know how to critisise and edit it.
A screwdriver is a tool that is very usable, but not if you use it to screw over everything.
generative AI literally makes me feel like a boomer. people start talking about how it can be good to help you brainstorm ideas and i鈥檓 like oh you鈥檙e letting a computer do the hard work and thinking for you???

Non-USAmericans, does your country have an easily attainable form of ID that any adult citizen can get (other than a passport) that doesn't require being able to drive?

'god i wish i had smart in stem autism instead of blorbo autism' is such weak mentality because if you have stem autism your special interests wouldn't be something like curing cancer or fusion reaction but about lambda calculus and katydid morphology

what ppl defending kids on ipads don鈥檛 seem to understand is that there are other ways to keep kids occupied. my mom had a whole bag full of little toys and games for me to play with while waiting in lines at disney world. once your kid is like 7 or 8 they can read a book. they can color. or they can literally just sit there and imagine things. i did that a lot as a kid.

Maybe look for other warnings.
I've noticed that more than half the time my ears start drumming. And just a few months ago I realised that my legs starts feeling cold and stiff, and a bit more pain than average, almost a whole day before it starts.
people whose migraines are preceded by auras are so fucking lucky i wish i could have some kind of warning before I'm basically incapacitated by brain hurt

I swear to fucking god. I would claw out OneDrive from my computer if I could. I would burn down their servers if I could. I would run down their stocks to the ground if I could. I hope every single one of their workers gets a better offer from a competitor in the next 24 hours. I hope every single one of their light bulbs explodes at the same time. I hope every single carton of milk in their fridge will always be expired.
Stop backing up my fucking files.
Stop asking me to back up my fucking files.
Stop taking my fucking files off my fucking computer.
I don't want a fucking reminder in three fucking days. Let me fucking say no.
Fuckers.

I like when people like a character so way too much that it transcends even self shipping or kinning and becomes more of a patron saint that you pray to type of deal

Listen pal, if you drink too much you will sound stupid, go home if you get too drunk
If you want to keep friendships you need to take time to visit your friends
More than 800 year old rune text from Iceland, called The High One's Speech.
Rule of thumb: The things that feel "ancient" or "exotic" are probably very new, and the things that feel the most mundane are probably extremely old.
(Clearly exceptions apply, but you get my point.)
