Next gen AU character roster!! This is mostly just an attempt to practice formatting posts and figure out how to use this app um ANYWAY

(heads up, this won’t be extremely in depth about lore or backstories, just simple introductions!)

This is the main roster in a row next to each other, along with their ages. Some of the art here is older than others… I’ll explain them in some more detail.

This here is Amber Gleam and her sister, Comet Trail! Long story short, Amber’s ‘real’ name is Cicada, and she is actually an adopted changeling, raised by Princess Twilight and later on her stepdad, Sunburst. Comet is her younger sister. Comet is competing with their cousin, Flurry Heart for royal guard status. I’ll talk more about Flurry later. Amber has been raised in the shadows for most of her life to hide her identity, which has led to issues socializing as well as a harsh reputation among the public as opposed to her sister.

Racing Heart isn’t actually the offspring of any canon characters, but she is an old OC that I love too much to remove, so she’s a part of my AU because she can. She’s a hopeless romantic lesbian who constantly crushes on all kinds of characters, but her eye is primarily set on Cotton Bow, who I’ll talk about next. I accidentally made her with lesbian colors back in 5th grade… I didn’t even know the word lesbian… wow…

Cotton Bow is the daughter of Mayor Diamond Tiara and Pipsqueak. She is best friends with Amber and they both bond over the issues that come from being the daughters of well known political figures and just wanting to be average, normal ponies. Although, Cotton doesn’t know about Cicada’s secret. Cotton’s special talent is knitting/crocheting (to her parents’ dismay) and she’s an introvert who doesn’t want to follow her family’s legacy.

Koi Concord is the son of Discord and Fluttershy. He has some powers from his father but they mainly remain limited to nature. He obtained his mother’s ability to speak to animals, but his favorites are sea creatures. He spends majority of his time swimming in rivers and creeks with little fishy friends, and keeps to himself for the most part. (Amber doesn’t like him very much as she deems his introversion as a waste of his ability to coexist with ponies as a mix breed/foreign species unbothered, unlike her who has to stay a secret)

Marigold Peaberry! The daughter of Rarity and Joe, she actually was really difficult to make a solid design for because I made her before picking her parents and then I had to redesign her to make her look related… it was a whole mess. She still doesn’t really have any personality or official role in the story.

Now we’re getting into old art territory… Startrix have 2 kids! Epitome Dusk and her brother Jinx Nightfall. Jinx is magically disabled and cannot use his horn without causing any accidents.This made his family incredibly heartbroken, but they all love him nonetheless. I imagine that these two hang out with Concord the most, since he’s the youngest of my next gen main characters.

Now time for Flurry! In my next gen AU, they are actually nonbinary and are dating Luster Dawn! I had a little bit of a poll/vote among my friends over if Luster should have been with Flutty or Comet and Flurry won! They don’t have a large role.

You might be wondering why that purple one at the end of the roster hasn’t appeared, and that’s because they aren’t canon. at least, I haven’t decided if they should be or not. Sunrise is a next gen for pinkiedash, but they’re merely a design concept for now. I’ll probably answer any questions people have about these guys if i have any answers. i doubt i’ll be getting any for a WHILE.

Sony has shut down Firewalk Studio, the developer of Concord, and Neon Koi

Concord está permanentemente encerrado

A Sony acabou de anunciar que estará fechando as portas de dois de seus estúdios. A Neon Koi, especialista no setor mobile, e a Firewalk Studios, responsável por Concord. Quem tinha esperanças do título retornar em um futuro próximo, pode desistir de vez. Afinal de contas, o próprio Hermen Hulst anunciou seu encerramento.

O chefe da PlayStation Studios esclareceu que a Firewalk não atingiu os objetivos esperados com o jogo, encerrado dias após o seu lançamento. Segundo ele, “certos aspectos foram excepcionais, mas outros não atraíram jogadores suficientes”. Com isso, optou-se pelo encerramento do projeto.

Em certa parte do comunicado divulgado no site oficial da Sony Interactive Entertainment, o executivo pontuou o seguinte:

O gênero de tiro em primeira pessoa PvP é um espaço competitivo em constante evolução e, infelizmente, não atingimos nossos objetivos com este título. Aproveitaremos as lições aprendidas com a Concord e continuaremos a aprimorar nossas capacidades de serviço ao vivo para proporcionar crescimento futuro nesta área.

Como o próprio Hulst deixou claro, o caso Concord está encerrado. Por outro lado, os próximos jogos como serviço com o selo da Sony devem passar por um processo mais delicado e minucioso antes de chegarem ao mercado.

Foi o “melhor caminho” para a PlayStation. Assim que Hermen Hulst anunciou o fechamento da Firewalk Studios, estúdio por trás de Concord.

What grows in your garden?

Aries Second House/Mars in the Second House

An array of sands and pebbles cushioning the most colourful cacti and succulents. Easter and Moon cacti, string of pearls, aloe vera, zebra, hens-and-chicks, and stonecrop. A special spot for the Martian’s coffee plant, primrose, and peppers.

Taurus Second House/Venus in the Second House

A fragrant garden that wants to be touched and tasted. Concord grape vines and climbing roses dancing everywhere. Wildflowers and daisies at your feet, lavender, honeysuckle, and hibiscus– all thrive while fuzzy bees make honey from them.

Gemini Second House/Mercury in the Second House

The Mercurial garden is meadow-like and playful. Clovers, forget-me-nots, and lilacs. Dandelions carried away in the garden’s winds. Young peppery parsley and savoury dill. Bamboo surrounds like a giant fairy circle.

Cancer Second House/Moon in the Second House

The damp lunar soil is home to the greenest mosses and ferns. Watercress, papyrus, hepatica, and milkweed. In the garden’s pond sits waterlilies and duckweed; kissed by vibrant koi, accompanied by little frogs.

Leo Second House/Sun in the Second House

Basking in these Sun’s rays are marigold, sunflowers, saffron, curry trees, and chamomile. Fruitful trees, lemon, oranges, and avocados. The mightiest cinnamon tree with bark ready to be harvested for chai masala. 

Virgo Second House/Vesta in the Second House

A box garden with just about every herb you can think of; basil, fenugreek, rosemary, fennel, thyme, oregano. All surrounded by delicate cornflowers, wheatgrass, iris, and hyacinths. A single carefully attended to orchid planter.

Libra Second House/Juno in the Second House

Wisteria and vines hang above a statue filled garden. Hydrangeas embedded their roots. Every statue planter presents the finest flowers, the reddest roses, and fullest peonies. A pomegranate tree sits at the centre of the garden.

Scorpio Second House/Pluto in the Second House

The hypnotising and venomous garden of Pluto is home to bloodroot, patchouli, holly, angel trumpet, hemlock, and various nightshades. The darkest oak trees stand tall with mushrooms at their feet. Venus fly traps sit where the sun peeks through

Sagittarius Second House/Jupiter in the Second House

Ancient nut trees whose offspring is continuously spread by birds and squirrels grow in the Jupiterian garden. Fragrant white sage and mysterious herbs, plants, and roots such as jasmine, unicorn root, eucalyptus, and vanilla.

Capricorn Second House/Saturn in the Second House

The hardy garden of Saturn is home to hemp, pussywillows, slippery elm, and baby’s breath. Willow trees can be heard dancing in the wind. Pungent herbs like clove, star anise, mint, garlic, and marjoram. 

Aquarius Second House/Uranus in the Second House

The unconventional planters made from recycled materials, metals, and glass hold valerian, air plants, carnivorous plants, kiwis, and pineapples. A low maintenance rock garden is the centrepiece of the Aquarian garden.

Pisces Second House/Neptune in the Second House

The salty ocean garden of Neptune is home to lively corals and sponges, vibrant seaweeds and kelp, and phytoplankton. The natural currents bring in visitors like crabs, jellyfish, stingrays, and starfish who admire in awe the blue garden.

Appearance: Ratio has a bit of a permanent scruff on his face as he forgets to shave sometimes. He’s also got permanent bags under his eyes. He’s got black hair a little longer than regulation length and brown eyes. No noticeable scars on his face or body. Resting Bitch Face. He has a belly button piercing and a hoop at the top of his ear. No tattoos (yet).

Personality: Ratio, like Kye, looks grumpy most of the time. However, Ratio has one of the most wicked senses of humor out of the whole Batch and will prank everyone. Especially Kye. Ratio loves to research obscure topics. He likes to say that his favorite thing in the whole galaxy is a fully charged datapad, a hot cup of caf, and a vod’ika (usually Ama) snuggled into his side. Nothing could be better than that in his opinion. Ratio can and will infodump to anyone that sits still long enough to listen. He’s really good at organizing shift schedules so that everyone has time to sleep and won’t get overworked. It gets more difficult as the war progresses, but he’s determined. Ratio really wants a tattoo, but can’t decide what design he wants to get and wants to wait until he has the perfect one. He loves playing with Corin’s hair.

Background/Story: While on Kamino, Ratio tested high in Logistics and was immediately slated for Guard training along with the rest of Blue Squad. Ratio was just glad that his closest vode were going to be on Coruscant with him, especially Ama. They’ve been best friends since they were decanted. Ratio was especially devastated when Ama and Kye needed to be transferred to the Marines to save their lives, and he wanted to do the same thing that Mal did. But Ratio was not built for the Marines, and he knew that he would be able to do more good on Coruscant than he would with Nova. He could help make sure that Winder got the correct supplies so they could take Nova food and bacta periodically. Ratio really really struggles with the comm blackout caused by the Blockade and has tried to figure out why Ama could only rarely send him messages. When the blackout is discovered, Ratio tries to figure out a way to boost his signal to send messages to Ama, but was caught by one of the Commanders and told to discontinue his efforts. They couldn’t let the Senators know about Ama and Kye’s continued survival, and they couldn’t risk the Separatists finding Nova by tracing his signal. Ratio does not like it, but he understands and he clings tighter to Corin as a result, desperately hoarding every scrap of information that makes it past the Blockade. When the war is over, Ratio is just relieved to be with his vode again and spends as much time with Ama as he can.Together, they end up causing an enormous prank war that eventually requires Cody to step in and put a stop to it since Ghost got involved through Wooley and Cyan. Ratio likes going on research expeditions around Concord Dawn to discover what surprises their new planet has in store for them.

Other: Ratio eventually gets a tattoo in Corrie Red of a bird taking flight on his back, representing a species of bird he discovered on Concord Dawn that could set fire to entire forests if startled. Ratio is extremely proud of his tattoo and likes to show it off whenever he can.

AUs

Mer AU: Ratio is a salt-water koi about 7 feet long. He’s the outlier of his vode in that he has mostly dark/black scales with a few red highlights and gleams gold in the sunlight. When the war hits, he helps Commander Fox evacuate civilians away from the fighting.

Mando AU: A member of Crimson Clan and not much of a fighter. He gives a lot of his beskar armor to Wooley and Mal as they need the most protection for their jobs. He wears the vambraces and maybe the greaves with the boots, but he prefers working in an office or running the library. He especially loves Jaster’s collection and eagerly nerds out over the variety of subjects Jaster has books on.

House with Outbuildings and Pond on 9 acres in Little Genesee NY. The single wide mobile home has 980 sq. ft., 3 bedrooms, 1 full bath, and a large living room-kitchen area. Naeun Jung (Seohyun) nasceu em Seoul, Coréia do Sul, no dia 26 de agosto de 1998. Antes da grande catástrofe, ela costumava ser garota de programa. Ouvimos dizer que ela é amante de ballet e ainda pratica, que legal! E ficamos sabendo ela compõe algumas músicas, mas isso é inteiramente segredo, hein. Ela é muito parecida com Jeon Soyeon do (G)-Idle ou será que estamos cegos? Personalidade:

De olhos baixos, sorrisos cínicos e palavras cortantes, Naeun não permite que muitos se aproximem de seu verdadeiro eu. Quem a observava ao longe, verá uma mulher de arrogância e grosseria indescritível, com respostas na ponta da língua e pronta para entrar em discussões, conquanto esse é apenas sua camada de proteção, evitando decepcionar-se ainda mais com a humanidade do que ela já se decepcionara. Assim como podem enxergar o lado ácido que parece envenenar seu interior constantemente, também podem ser alvos de brincadeiras e piadas, deboches e sátiras, Naeun está sempre pronta para entrar em alguma brincadeira, para dar risadas, ainda que raramente as comece propositadamente.

Em seu interior, no entanto, Naeun carrega a verdade de uma menina que virou mulher cedo demais. Após todos os ocorridos em sua vida, Naeun acabou temendo quaisquer aproximações, não entregando confiança para quase ninguém. Possui um belo sorriso, do qual faz uso somente quando se deixa vulnerável, assim como seu lado carinhoso e amistoso demora a aparecer, porém uma vez que o faz toma conta de todo seu ser. Biografia:

Se acostumou com os flashes quando era criança demais, com gritarias quando era criança demais, com os irmãos mais velhos – dois rapazes – tentando protege-la dos tabloides quando era criança demais. Seohyun deveria estar pronta para enfrentar o lado dificultoso da vida de uma pobre garota rica, filha de de CEOs de uma empresa renomada na Coréia, seus pais não tentavam protege-la de coisa alguma, a não ser que algum repórter estivesse por perto. Soohyun e Minhee Jung pareciam o exemplo perfeito de casal perfeito, por fora dos grandes portões que abrigava a mansão em que eles viviam em Gangnam, em Seul.

No entanto, era dentro das paredes gélidas da casa que as coisas viravam de ponta cabeça. As inúmeras amantes de seu pai, a impaciência de sua mãe e o modo como os irmãos agiam como se fossem robôs, prontos para obedecer e aceitar quaisquer condições que seu pai impusesse para conseguirem dinheiro. Seohyun não somente era a única mulher, mas também a mais nova e estava sempre à mercê das atitudes grosseiras de seus familiares, sobretudo o progenitor irritadiço que, com mais constância do que ele admitiria, se embebedava.

Dinheiro e poder trazia a sensação de invencibilidade, ela pensava. E muitos outros de seus pensamentos envolviam o desejo de sair daquela casa, de quebrar os padrões impostos por seus familiares, de romper laços e não olhar para trás. Seohyun aprendeu que seus pensamentos deveriam ser apenas seus, que ela não deveria compartilhar muito de seu eu com ninguém, porém conforme o tempo passava ela ficava mais bonita e constantemente ouvia comentários no mínimo desagradáveis dos irmãos, dos amigos dos irmãos... e do pai. Sentia-se obrigada a se esconder, usando sempre de roupas longas e mantendo a cabeça baixa. Infelizmente, nenhuma de suas atitudes a protegeram ou prepararam para o viesse a seguir. Depois de uma nova discussão sobre mais uma amante, Soohyun embriagou-se e ao invadir o quarto de Seohyun, com força bruta e violência, a obrigou a realizar atos sexuais de todos os tipos; tudo aquilo era uma vingança contra sua mãe, o pai dizia, colocando a culpa na outra mulher por tudo que fizera com ela.

Ela nunca mais foi a mesma. E ela tinha apenas quatorze anos. O tempo passava e seu pai nunca mais encostou em si, porém também nunca mais olhou para ela. Nenhum dos dois falaram mais sobre isso e Seohyun guardou aquele segredo consigo por anos.

Com dezenoves anos, ela ingressou na universidade para cursar moda, uma das coisas que mais gostava no mundo e durante alguns meses, recebeu cheques de seu pai para pagar a faculdade e o apartamento onde morava – um grande e bonito loft em Koi, porém isso não duraria.

im not fucking around anymore Day 2

Started the day by oversleeping. I figured since I showered last night I wouldn't have to get up quite as early in the morning. I underestimated how tired I was.

Lets make this one about routines, cycles, and how they help you manage your time and energy.

Lets say you're me two years ago. You lay in bed like four hours after you wake up. Which ends up being like three PM. By then you feel like its too late in the day to take a shower. You feel sorta fucked up about starting your day more than halfway through it, so you just kinda ride it out, not sure what to start, until you realize you forgot your meds because you never got out of bed that morning. The pressure of keeping up with relatively few normal human things makes you feel hopeless. What you might need to do is build a routine.

See, I have ideal morning and night routines now.

Morning: Make bed. Take Meds. Tally the day off the calendar. Exercise. Shower. Wim Hof breathing. Put away/Do dishes. Get all this done in under an hour after my alarm goes off.

Night Routine: Yoga, take meds, put away/do dishes, get tomorrow's clothes ready, brush teeth, meditate. This time i just followed it up by showering before the sleep part.

Note, Ideal. I have been trying to get this sequence right for months. I tend to exercise after i shower, which means i don't do it as hard as I want to because i'm afraid of sweating too much right after showering. I have yet to do wim-hof breathing consistently, too.

I physically rehearse these routines a few times when i feel like i want to align to them better. You know, short of actually showering and taking meds. I want to get the programming in my head to lead my half-awake body to get everything i need done without having a concious thought.

Routines are very important to me. I consider them a building block for lifestyles. Most of what the rest of what i'll talk about revolves around the process of building new habits, and turning actions into routines.

Routines: The Meta

Here's the thing about human experience. You're a bunch of patterns. Your mind is a bunch of subconcious subroutines that fire off with given context. Just like any skill, actions get re-inforced on repitition.

If you perform an action, it's like a conducted symphony of biochemical action that takes place, kicked off by an external stimulus, or by an abstract thought. If you perform an action similarly each time, it will start to become muscle memory. If you perform an action at a regular interval, it will stert to become habitual memory. It will start to become programming. But also, it will become a rhythm. It will become an oscilation in your life.

Days are the easiest rhythm to pick up on. Having a consistent daily routine draws a solid tone throughout your life experience as long as you keep it up. It gives you root notes to ground to. Morning and night routines are easy songs to rehearse, and you always know when their cues are.

The goal of recovery, from my perspective, is not to try to fix all of your shortcomings. It is simply to adjust your patterns, to tune your waves of activity, to create a more harmonious and concordant lifestyle. To tune and refine the parts of life that are in your range, instead of worrying about the limits of your range.

This is an important mindset to me. All of your actions are a resonance in the grand scheme of things. And just like everything else, your resonance has overtones. The universe loves to fill overtones with tones*. I'll be using harmony a lot as a metaphor. Just remember this as a reference point to it. 

Routines: Training your meat machine

If you don't have the raw willpower to commit to something right away until it becomes a habit, here's some tips to sort of slip it into your subconcious.

Figure out your necessities. What tasks do you need to do every day, for your health? Hygiene, medication, eating and hydrating, for examples. Remember that you should focus on using energy when you have it on making things easier for you when you have less. This should be a focus of regular routines.

Figure out the best order to do these things in. Plan it to keep yourself moving. Write these steps down. Write them all naratively, present tense. "I Am making my bed, I am getting a glass with water to take my meds." etc.

Read these things out loud. Visualize doing these things. Maybe physically rehearse stuff to start to make a bed for the programming to stick.

Actually do it. Feel the satisfaction of getting half the things that used to bother you out of the way in like less than an hour, and realize how much time you have free.

Estimate how much time each one takes. You can shoot for goals in how efficient you want to be. This helps motivate you to break away from staying in bed or sitting there on your phone between steps. Or sitting outside your shower breathing the steam in like I do.  Run a stopwatch after you get up and lap it every step of your routine.

It's all up from here. Work down the time things take and fit in more self improvement stuff. Meditate. Exercise. Journal. Pray.

I try to have morning and night routines that i start by the sound of an alarm. My night routine is built up of things that make my morning routine go smoothly. It's good practice for another mindset, committing to actions that make it easier for your future self. Passing the baton across the barrier of sleep.

Other important aspects to this are circadian rhythm, eating rhythm, and prayer & ritual. I'll be talking more about these soon too.

FDA Press Release: FDA warns 15 companies for illegally selling various products containing cannabidiol as agency details safety concerns

Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued warning letters to 15 companies for illegally selling products containing cannabidiol (CBD) in ways that violate the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act). The FDA also published a revised Consumer Update detailing safety concerns about CBD products more broadly. Based on the lack of scientific information supporting the safety of CBD in food, the FDA is also indicating today that it cannot conclude that CBD is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) among qualified experts for its use in human or animal food.

Today’s actions come as the FDA continues to explore potential pathways for various types of CBD products to be lawfully marketed. This includes ongoing work to obtain and evaluate information to address outstanding questions related to the safety of CBD products, while maintaining the agency’s rigorous public health standards. The FDA plans to provide an update on its progress regarding the agency’s approach to these products in the coming weeks.

“As we work quickly to further clarify our regulatory approach for products containing cannabis and cannabis-derived compounds like CBD, we’ll continue to monitor the marketplace and take action as needed against companies that violate the law in ways that raise a variety of public health concerns. In line with our mission to protect the public, foster innovation, and promote consumer confidence, this overarching approach regarding CBD is the same as the FDA would take for any other substance that we regulate,” said FDA Principal Deputy Commissioner Amy Abernethy, M.D., Ph.D. “We remain concerned that some people wrongly think that the myriad of CBD products on the market, many of which are illegal, have been evaluated by the FDA and determined to be safe, or that trying CBD ‘can’t hurt.’ Aside from one prescription drug approved to treat two pediatric epilepsy disorders, these products have not been approved by the FDA and we want to be clear that a number of questions remain regarding CBD’s safety – including reports of products containing contaminants, such as pesticides and heavy metals – and there are real risks that need to be considered. We recognize the significant public interest in CBD and we must work together with stakeholders and industry to fill in the knowledge gaps about the science, safety and quality of many of these products.”

Many unanswered questions and data gaps about CBD toxicity exist, and some of the available data raise serious concerns about potential harm from CBD. The revised Consumer Update outlines specific safety concerns related to CBD products, including potential liver injury, interactions with other drugs, drowsiness, diarrhea, and changes in mood. In addition, studies in animals have shown that CBD can interfere with the development and function of testes and sperm, decrease testosterone levels and impair sexual behavior in males. Questions also remain about cumulative use of CBD and about CBD’s impacts on vulnerable populations such as children and pregnant or breastfeeding women.

CBD is marketed in a variety of product types, such as oil drops, capsules, syrups, food products such as chocolate bars and teas, and topical lotions and creams. As outlined in the warning letters issued today, these particular companies are using product webpages, online stores and social media to market CBD products in interstate commerce in ways that violate the FD&C Act, including marketing CBD products to treat diseases or for other therapeutic uses for humans and/or animals. Other violations include marketing CBD products as dietary supplements and adding CBD to human and animal foods.

The FDA has previously sent warning letters to other companies illegally selling CBD products in interstate commerce that claimed to prevent, diagnose, mitigate, treat or cure serious diseases, such as cancer, or otherwise violated the FD&C Act. Some of these products were in further violation because CBD was added to food, and some of the products were also marketed as dietary supplements despite products which contain CBD not meeting the definition of a dietary supplement.

Under the FD&C Act, any product intended to treat a disease or otherwise have a therapeutic or medical use, and any product (other than a food) that is intended to affect the structure or function of the body of humans or animals, is a drug. The FDA has not approved any CBD products other than one prescription human drug product to treat rare, severe forms of epilepsy. There is very limited information for other marketed CBD products, which likely differ in composition from the FDA-approved product and have not been evaluated for potential adverse effects on the body.

Unlike drugs approved by the FDA, there has been no FDA evaluation of whether these unapproved products are effective for their intended use, what the proper dosage might be, how they could interact with FDA-approved drugs, or whether they have dangerous side effects or other safety concerns. In addition, the manufacturing process of unapproved CBD drug products has not been subject to FDA review as part of the human or animal drug approval processes. Consumers may also put off getting important medical care, such as proper diagnosis, treatment and supportive care due to unsubstantiated claims associated with CBD products. For that reason, it’s important that consumers talk to a health care professional about the best way to treat diseases or conditions with existing, approved treatment options.

Additionally, some of the products outlined in the warning letters issued today raise other legal and public health concerns:

Some of the products are marketed for infants and children – a vulnerable population that may be at greater risk for adverse reactions due to differences in the ability to absorb, metabolize, distribute or excrete a substance such as CBD.

Some of the products are foods to which CBD has been added. Under the FD&C Act, it is illegal to introduce into interstate commerce any human or animal food to which certain drug ingredients, such as CBD, have been added. In addition, the FDA is not aware of any basis to conclude that CBD is GRAS among qualified experts for its use in human or animal food. There also is no food additive regulation which authorizes the use of CBD as an ingredient in human food or animal food, and the agency is not aware of any other exemption from the food additive definition that would apply to CBD. CBD is therefore an unapproved food additive, and its use in human or animal food violates the FD&C Act for reasons that are independent of its status as a drug ingredient.

Some of the products are marketed as dietary supplements. However, CBD products cannot be dietary supplements because they do not meet the definition of a dietary supplement under the FD&C Act.

One product outlined in a warning letter to Apex Hemp Oil LLC is intended for food-producing animals. The agency remains concerned about the safety of human food products (e.g. meat, milk, and eggs) from animals that consume CBD, as there is a lack of data establishing safe CBD residue levels.

The FDA has requested responses from the companies within 15 working days stating how the companies will correct the violations. Failure to correct the violations promptly may result in legal action, including product seizure and/or injunction.

The FDA encourages human and animal health care professionals and consumers to report adverse reactions associated with these or similar products to the agency’s MedWatch program.

The FDA, an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, promotes and protects the public health by, among other things, assuring the safety, effectiveness, and security of human and veterinary drugs, vaccines and other biological products for human use, and medical devices. The agency also is responsible for the safety and security of our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, dietary supplements, products that give off electronic radiation, and for regulating tobacco products.

Veterans hospital officials removed over care claims

Manchester, N.H.— Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin has removed two leading officials in New Hampshire’s only specialists hospital, and it has ordered a review of the centre beginning Monday amid allegations of”dangerously insufficient care.”

The Boston Globe noted that 11 physicians and healthcare personnel alleged that the Manchester VA Medical Center was endangering patients. They explained a fly-infested operating room; surgical tools that weren’t always sterilized; and patients whose conditions were ignored or were not treated properly.

The Office of the Special Counsel, a federal whistle-blower agency, found”substantial likelihood” that the allegations were true and ordered an investigation, which began in January. Shulkin also said the VA Office of the Medical Inspector and the VA Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection have been beginning a”top-to-bottom review” of their hospital, beginning Monday.

Adhering to the paper accounts Sunday, Shulkin removed hospital Director Danielle Ocker and also Chief of Staff James Schlosser. A VA spokesman told the paper both would be assigned other responsibilities in the meantime.

“We will stop at nothing short of providing the very best care for our veterans,” said Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, who said he predicted Shulkin about Sunday morning.

Rep. Annie Kuster, a member of the U.S. House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, also a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee — both Democrats — fulfilled with VA doctors This past Year for Their allegations and brought the concerns concerning the VA’s Office of Special Counsel and the Office of the Inspector General for further investigation. Kuster said she was”deeply worried”

“I appreciate the seriousness with which Secretary Shulkin is taking this matter,” Kuster said in a statement.

The Globe reported in an earlier interview,” Ocker and Schlosser acknowledged significant cuts in services, like the removal of cataract surgery, and administrative difficulties, like purchasing a $1 billion nuclear medicine camera although never installing it as it was too large for the examination room. Consequently, the hospital stopped providing atomic stress tests for heart disease hazard and bone scans that can detect tumors this year.

But Ocker and Schlosser said that they had been amazed that many health staff members reported that the issues to federal investigators. They said the hospital was addressing the shortcomings and individual safety has not been compromised.

Much of the Globe’s report centered on accounts from Dr. William”Ed” Kois, head of Manchester VA’s spinal cord clinic, who recently compiled a list of at least 80 patients in the hospital over five years suffering from advanced and potentially unsuccessful nerve compression at the throat, and utilizing canes, wheelchairs and walkers, instead of getting surgery. He said the condition is not difficult to diagnose and cure with surgery until it advances too much.

“It’s like if you saw examples of syphilis — a disorder that has long been curable with penicillin,” Kois said.

New Hampshire is among a few countries with no full-service VA hospital. The Manchester center offers urgent care, primary care, ambulatory surgery, mental health treatment and other providers, but it contracts with Concord Hospital and others for much more elaborate operation and pediatric care. Members of New Hampshire’s congressional delegation have lobbied for its hospital to turn into full-time going back at least a couple of years.

Dave Kenney, chairman of the State Veterans Advisory Committee, which brings together multiple veterans associations to inform New Hampshire’s Legislature about veterans affairs, said he hopes the investigation leads to considerable shift.

“They have to put their money where their mouth is,” he said. “They need to place the resources in to get it done and fix it.”
