We did a tour of the USS Iowa and then drove around to check out some parks on our last day in Long Beach and found this beautiful Korean Friendship Bell with a fantastic view.

Jungkook x Black OC Headcannons

Pairing: Jungkook x Jennette

Jungkook/Jennette: Jungkook was oblivious to the hints Jennette gave him. With his semi-famous status, he didn't want to make any assumptions that could cost him a dear friend. Jennette would be a talking stage with Jungkook for over a year.

Jungkook/Jennette: Jungkook flew Jennette out to Seoul to celebrate getting her Master's degree. He was so proud of her and wanted to treat her to the beautiful sights of his home country. Jungkook couldn't deny how good Jennette looked. The blinders of friendship were removed, and he saw Jennette in a new light. He was taking her to a bell tower that was a prized possession of South Korea. It was famous for its K-drama scene. The ringing of the bell signified the two love interests finding their soulmate. Jungkook loved that drama.

With Jennette staying in Korea for the next week, he contemplated re-watching the series with her. The pair looked up at the golden bell, shoulder to shoulder, when it let out a loud ring. Besides the potential hearing damage they may have gotten, Jungkook looked down at Jennette, smiling at her.

Jungkook/Jennette: Jennette was the first to introduce pet names to their relationship. She wasn't a fan of 'bae' or 'baby' she wanted something more unique. So she would try out different pet names on Jungkook til she found one that stuck.

"Hi stinka butt."

"Are you saying I stink?"

"Noo silly. It's a pet name." Jennette explained.

"I don't like that one."

"What about pookie?"

"Meh."

Jennette tapped her chin. "I got it! How about love bug." She squeezed on Jungkook's bicep, looking at him with a twinkle in her eye.

"That could work, it's cute."

Jungkook/Jennette: Jungkook prefers a private relationship to I public one. He has one singular post of him, and Jennette pinned on his Instagram, but that is it. He doesn't respond to questions about his relationship, nor does he frequently post her. But he makes it known that he is happily taken.

Jungkook/Jennette: Jennette is always asking Jungkook to teach her Korean. They have been together for a while, and hopes she could have a conversation with his parents one day. Jungkook does his best to teach her simple phrases.

"Repeat after me, annyeonhaseyo."

"I know how to say 'hello'. Teach me something else."

"Try 'naneun dangsin-uy adeulgwa salange ppajyeossseubnida. Naneun gyeolko geuleul tteonaji anh-eul geos-ida." Jungkook rattled off.

translation: i'm in love with your son. I'll never leave him.

Jennette nearly repeated the two sentences perfectly. Even coping Jungkook's busan accent. It took Jungkook by surprise as he smiled.

"Good job Jeanie!"

Jungkook/Jennette: The two are overly competitive. They will turn anything into a competition. They will see who can do the dishes faster. Or who can make the bed up the fastest. Sometimes they will literally go to a park just to race each other.

"Ready."

"Set." Jungkook bent down in a track star pose, eyes honed in on the trashcan on the other side of the park. He waited for Jennette to give the count. Three seconds pass and the next thing he sees is Jennette with a two feet advantage.

"GO!"

Jungkook put the burners on and ran his heart out to the trashcan.

Jungkook/Jennette: Jennette definitely sends Jungkook's trending TikTok dances for him to practice and learn with her. Although she never posts them, she keeps them on her camera roll and looks at them for good laughs.

Jungkook/Jennette: Whenever they do have an argument, they do have to separate for a little bit. Jennette often goes and takes a really long shower. The steam relaxes her and clears her head, so that she can come back and articulate her feelings and not be lost in weighted emotions. Jungkook is similar. He has a punching bag that he will physically release his frustration on. Neither of them want to let the tension linger around them, so they try to resolve their issues promptly.

Jungkook/Jennette: These two are foodies on another level. Their friends are always asking them for recommendations for food spots to try when they visit Atlanta. They are always expanding their palates. You don't even want to know how much money they spend on eating out. Tuesday night they are eating gyros, and on Sunday they could be eating chicken and waffles at a brunch spot. They love food! And if they aren't eating out then they are combining popular soul food dishes with Korean foods.

“Can you teach me something in Korean?” You asked Vernon, who was so diligently filling out a worksheet with the Korean characters beside you. It was only the two of you in the classroom as it usually was once the last school bell rung, taking the opportunity to do homework in this setting with the chalkboards and school supplies. For you, it was so much better to be completing your work at school, so that when you got home, you’d be able to relax. For Vernon, he had to get everything done after the end of the school day because at 5:30, he needs to speed out the door to get to dance practice. Either way, staying after was a win-win situation.

“I mean sure, what do you want to learn?” He looks up briefly at your face before continuing to write on the paper. “Don’t you have your own work to do?” He raises an eyebrow to himself while he mutters the question.

You tug at the collar of the dress shirt you wear for your uniform and unbutton the top button. “Yeah, but I need a break. And you look like you could use one too.”

Vernon scoffs as he pulls on the knot of his tie to undo it. He leaves the accessory hanging around his neck so casually. “Alright, fine.” The folds in between his eyebrows while he scrunches his face make you laugh and you’re so tempted to take your fingers to smooth out his skin. You don’t, though.

“So what do you want to teach me?”

He fishes into his bag for his spare notebook, the one you know he fills with the randomest things. One time, you asked him to look through it and he shrugged and handed it over. There were pages full of written song lyrics, both in English and Korean, as well as to-do lists of the homework assignments he needed to finish. Vernon flips to an empty page and marks it with calculated strokes. It comes out to look like this: 나는 너를 좋아해.

He says the words, but even when he tries to make you repeat it, it’s really difficult, so he breaks it down for you. “Okay, repeat after me. Naneun.”

“Naneun.”

“Neoreul.”

“Neoreul.”

“Joahae.”

“Joahae.”

“Okay, all together. Naneun neoreul joahae.”

“Naneun neoreul joahae.” You can tell you pronounced it correctly because there’s an immediate grin on his face as you finish the sentence. He raises his hand and you slap it for a high five. “So what does it mean?”

“What do you mean?”

“Just because I know how to say something doesn’t mean I know what it means.”

Vernon’s face drops, and there’s that scrunch in his eyebrows again. “It, uh, means I like you in Korean.” He leans his cheek on his hand immediately after, shifting away from you.

“Aw, that’s cute.” You smile, but then the gears start turning in your head and your jaw drops. “Wait, what do you mean? Are you being for real or are you just saying it because it’s what you’ve been writing for the—”

“I mean, why else would I teach it to you?” He still won’t meet eyes with you, but you can see the tips of his ears flush with red.

“I don’t know, maybe you want to teach the third graders how to flirt.”

“Well, is it working?” Vernon finally looks you in the eyes. His tongue is peeking out of his mouth, dragging across his lips. With his shallow breaths, he’s trying to convince himself he won’t lose this friendship, even though he could’ve ruined this completely.

You feign thinking, looking up, then left and right. Vernon leans in slightly and he’s surprised you can’t hear his heart beating out of his chest. “Yeah, I would say it worked.” The breath he’s held in finally releases as he closes his eyes in relief. “I’ve liked you for a while though, Vernon.”

His eyes shoot open. “Huh?” The corner of his lips quirk up in the most confused smile, an expression you've seen too many times to count and one that you've always smiled at.

"Yeah," you say in a knowing tone. "Remember when we were the only ones at the lunch table, like, a few months ago?"

"Yeah, because everyone had stuff to do during that period." He shakes his head like it's obvious, and you shake your head in return.

You grimace and proceed with your sentence. "It's because they wanted me to talk to you about my feelings. Clearly I didn't do that because you just found out right now." You bury your face in your hands, feeling warmth flood your cheeks. This is how it plays out, out of all worst possible ways?

You feel yourself being pulled up, one hand being caressed. His thumb and index fingers graze underneath your chin, so delicately.

There's a moment where you're looking into his eyes and he's looking into yours, and you just know.

His lips are slightly chapped on yours, and it really was only a peck at first, but your eyes flutter open. You blink a few times, dazed and a little confused.

You go in for a second.

("So you really like me?" is a question both of you say to one another—multiple times—as you leave the classroom, as if it wasn't obvious to the people around you.)

Partner and I went on an adventure today. We started with a picnic lunch in a park with ducks; we picked up sandwiches from a Japanese bakery and just enjoyed the nice weather.

Getting the see the ducks and turtles again was nice. And I even had a dark eyed junco come visit me.

Next we wandered up the another park and just enjoyed the view.

It's also been a few years since we've visited the Korean friendship bell. This used to be one of our favorite places to go. The views are great, the structure around the bell is beautiful, and it's fun to walk around and explore the old military outpost it's built on.

RANT FOR THE UPCOMING TOG CHAPTERS

!!! Huge spoilers under the read more so beware !!!

Ok so I sort of caught up to the story on an illegal website that posts every new chapter translated from the korean webtoon page that are also behind cashwalls and before anyone chides me for it, I am not at the financial stability nor am I really thrilled with season 3 (which I’m not gonna touch on in this post bc that would be it’s can of worms) for me to pay for them. I skimmed most of it through but the major thing that stunned me was that Traumerei proposed or forced Bam into a battle in which everyone fights for Bam’s hand in marriage so in exchange the Lo Po Bia family head can remove Bam from FUG and become his successor.  Wow. Bam is ofc barely phased by it bc why would he ig. The biggest outrage came from that Jahad Princess in the same chapter, the blond, blue-eyed one that roped Endorsi into a bet in season 1 (I think), who threw a fit and attacked Bam as she heard she had to fight for his hand and potentially marry him. Oh and if you would worry about Endorsi and how she’ll react to this, don’t worry, last chapter, she got the news. Wasn’t thrilled with this concept either. So before anyone gets their hopes up with “Oh man Khun surely wouldn’t let this happen, afterall he has done drastic stuff for Bam in other chapters when he was forced in very humiliating and difficult situations.” Hahahahah. No. No he is not. Rachel showed up and apparently hired some guy (unspecified what’s going on really, it is teased as a mystery) and traded him Khun (somehow) by trapping him or whatever and we don’t know what will happen to blue boy but this guy keeps calling Khun “cute” and a “blue kitty”, so my alarm bells are going off.  So in a sense SIU panicked and just made Khun fuck off from the scene so he can’t even know about any of this and is probably pushed in another life-threataning deal with Rachel bc we didn’t have enough of those already. Now my biggest beef with this story development is simply the idea of multiple people fighting Bam’s hand (probably all of them will be women bc you know, god forbid same gender attraction can exist in this universe). It feels like forced “love” subplot, since these women we previously knew have to face off in catfights just to save their dignity but also to gain a higher position, both things that irritate me. And Bam? Fuck Bam and him having any developed relationships with any of supposed “love interest”, here, let it be a forced get-together with these other characters. Like no shame in liking Endorsi, she is a delight as a character, but she and Bam barely have anything of substance between them. They barely grazed that friendship line. Endorsi has been gone for ages now and just returned for this news to drop into her lap and even when she was with Bam and co, they barely talked or interacted with one another. The most significant thing she did on an emotional level, that I can remember, was her revealing her traumatic past to a handful of peoiple. Wow how romantic. Is this how SIU develops a main character love subplot? Or any at this point? Bc I find it just so stupid. I’m sure ToG Reddit users will drool over this idea but it ain’t me.

Today’s Agenda: Lakwatsa with family!

📍Korean Bell of Friendship.

📍lunch at San Pedro Fish Market. Opkors seafood tayo. Hahaha. Fresh oysters tapos Shrimp and fish platter. Saraaap nung oysters. Pramis!

📍White Point Beach. Naglakad lakad sa beach, para marelax at makapag muni muni naman sa buhay. So ayun mahangin. Mejo mainit pero oks naman. Natahimik ang buhay ng ilang saglit. Haha!

Tapos ayun pupunta sana ng Griffith Park kaso puno yung parking lot eh ang layo naman ng lakarin tapos ang init pa. Nagkayayaan na lang mag milk tea. So nag end up pumunta kami sa fave spot ko…

Current tattoos

This was my 1st. I got it when I was 18. I've always loved Beauty and the Beast, and spent my entire life being compared to Belle (apparently liking books and being a brunette is all it takes).

This was #2. It came 2 months after the 1st. It says burdens are for shoulders strong enough to bear them. At the time I was fighting a long, hard depression and I read this in a book. It resonates even more with me now that I've dealt with having my body quite literally fail me.

Of course I got it my shoulder.

#3 came a whopping 8 years later (after 8 years of me saying I needed more tattoos). It spawned from a Facebook thing of getting a matching tattoo with your 3rd @ or something. It was my best friend and we decided to get monopoly houses because our friendship started over a mutual love of the game.

#4 was done in January. It's a witches hand. I came across the artist on tiktok and followed her on Instagram. She posted this to her flashes and I went I WANT IT.

At this point, I've given up this idea that tattoos have to be meaningful. Why shouldnt I decorate my body with meaningless things if I find them pretty and they make me happy?

#5 is the butterfly, done last Wednesday. Again, I came across the artist on Instagram (he was a funny French man with a twisty mustache), went this is prettyyyyyy 😍😍😍 and decided to waste $400 on it.

Futur tattoos

#6 is this little fox. He's booked for early July. I've always loved foxes (you know how you hyper fixate on an animal as a kid? Mine was foxes) so when another artist I follow on Instagram posted him, I decided I needed him.

This lantern is one my boyfriend took a picture of while we were in Ecuador back in 2019. I absolutely love it and know I want it as a tattoo. I just don't know if I want a more fine line/minimal version of it or to go full on glowing/witchy with it.

I want to get small flowers (I love florals) on a vine under my breasts. I know which artist (this one) and have a decent idea of what I want it to look like. I just have to actually get to contacting him (and maybe saving money cause I expect it to be a bit more expensive).

I almost got this done my a Korean artist that was guesting in Montreal back in April but she wanted fucking $200 an hour. Shame cause she has really beautiful work.
