Rotsidan, Sweden (No. 3)
Rotsidan is a 4 km long area along the High Coast. The area is characterized by far reaching stones / cliffs along the coast line. These stones have been polished by the sea for several thousand years. The area can be enjoyed during a warm summer day as well as during a stormy fall evening. Summer time, several people goes to Rotsidan to take a bath and enjoy the sun. Together with the Slåttdal crevice and Skule mountain, Rotsidan is easily on our top-three spots of the High Coast region.
You can access the nature reserve of Rotsidan by leaving the main road E4 towards Nordingrå. Follow the brown signs to Barsta, and then Rotsidan. In this area you can also find the old fishing camp of Bönhamn.

@statenskonstrad Passage by Katarina Löfström is a land art project in Bönhamn, at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Höga Kusten, where the postglacial land elevation is 8mm every year. The artist describes her thoughts as follows: “I would like to carve a stone staircase at the water's edge towards the sea somewhere in the world heritage site. The top step would lie right in the waterline and represent the present, the time when the artwork was created. Each step down into the water would symbolize a future generation. The stairs would thus slowly rise from the sea, as new generations came. Eventually it would stand completely on dry land and remind people of times that have been.” Passage was commissioned in 2011 by Public Art Agency Sweden. Since 1937, the Agency has produced about 2000 permanent works of art in public spaces. Foto: Maria Schibbye, Hans-Olof Utsi. Curator: Jörgen Nilsson. Swedish defender Christian Kpobi inaugurates "Soccer Connect"
Christian Kpobi, a Swedish defender of Ghanaian origin, has launched a youth development football programme in Accra dubbed "Soccer Connect".
The project is designed to formalise juvenile soccer and integrate association football into Ghanaian basic school systems and thereby widen the opportunities for schoolchildren to participate in the soccer industry in Ghana and beyond.
Kpobi, who previously played in South Africa, Thailand, and other clubs in Sweden, including Kramfors Alliansin, emphasised that the main aim of his project is to rebrand colts football through the schools and also offer quality young talents the opportunity to play overseas.
"The purpose of this project is to help reintroduce the popular league system called colts soccer through the basics schools in Ghana.
“This, we believe, will create a new generation of soccer players who are educated and developed through a structured system of football. To achieve this purpose we have to understand the role of football as a tool for participation and social inclusion," Kpobi told Graphic Sports.
"We will go to almost all the basic schools in every district or municipality in Ghana for the exercise and it will be played like a zonal league after which we will choose a dream team from every zone.
“They will come to Accra for the final exercise after which we will choose the best ones and send them to Sweden and other places. Some will be on Academic Scholarship as they combine education with football," he explained further.
Kpobi said the first phase of the competition would begin in the Volta Region when the Coronavirus pandemic is over.
"We will start the exercise in the North Dayi District when the Coronavirus pandemic is over. Plans are well advanced for it to start and everything is in order," he added.
The Ghanaian-born Swedish defender is currently working on his FIFA Player Intermediary licence.

Rotsidan, Sweden (No. 5)
In the nature reserve there exist a large amount of stone rubble. These stones have been worn against each other by the sea, and slowly been raised together with the land (the land in the high coast is raised about 85 cm per 100 years). The stones are flushed out from the moraine left behind from the ice age. The stones are gathered in larger pits in the ground, and finer materials has been left further out. The largest stone rubbels in the area are Brännvinsmalen, Rödmalen and Vitstensmalen.  The stones in these fields often have traces of green lichen on them.

Höga Kusten Bridge, Sweden (No. 3)
The bridge was built to make the road shorter, as the older section via Sandöbron is 8 km longer. In addition, it does not have the highest load capacity for heavy vehicles (BK1), which is why vehicles over 52 tonnes were previously referred to the road via Bollstabruk which is another 38 km longer. The bridge is part of a new stretch of road along the E4 from just north of Härnösand in the south to Gallsätter in the north. The route was built as a wide country road without level crossings where connection takes place only at traffic points. In the early 2000s, the route was converted into a meeting-free 2+1 road. Over the bridge, however, the road is built as a four-lane road with two fields in each direction where the outer lanes in each direction are narrower than normal. The entire newly built route including the High Coast Bridge is signposted at 110 km/h. Near the northern bridge mount there is a rest area with a hotel and restaurant from which the entire bridge can be seen. From this place also the High Coast Trail, which stretches 128 kilometres between this place and Örnsköldsvik,begins/ends.
The shorter name Vedabron comes from the village of Veda, which is located one kilometre west of the bridge's southern stronghold.

Rotsidan, Sweden (No. 4)
The stones consists of porous diabase. The water is constantly polishing the area. No vegetation except for some algae exist near the water, but further up you can study the unique “Strandtrav” plant that only exists in this coastal area. The pine forest becomes more dense, the further away from the ocean you get. The forest is relatively untouched, except for a few cutting areas.

Nordingrå, Sweden (No.2)
Kramfors Municipality (Kramfors kommun) is a municipality in Västernorrland County, northern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town Kramfors.
The rural municipality of Gudmundrå was in 1947 made one of the last administrative cities of Sweden and got the name Kramfors from an industrial settlement. In 1952 many of the surrounding entities were grouped into larger municipalities. The nationwide reform in 1971 made Kramfors a unitary municipality, but the amalgamation process was not fulfilled until 1974. The number of original units within the present municipality is eleven, including Bjärtrå.
The municipality features the Sandö Bridge, crossing the Ångerman River. It is a concrete bridge in one span, and with a length of 264 meters it was the longest of that kind from its inauguration 1943 to 1964.
Nearby is a monument to the people killed in the Ådalen shootings, 1931, when the Swedish military shot socialist demonstrators, killing five.
The UNESCO World Heritage Area Höga kusten ("High coast" in English) is located on the east coast of Kramfors municipality.

Höga Kusten Bridge, Sweden (No. 4)
The High Coast Bridge is a powerful construction that towers up when driving on the E4 between Härnösand and Ullånger. The bridge was built in 1993 and was inaugurated on December 1, 1997. The model is San Francisco's famous Golden Gate Bridge. The suspension bridge over ångermanälven is one of Sweden's tallest buildings with a height of 180 meters above the water surface. Brospannet is Sweden's longest, Europe's third longest and the world's eleventh longest. North of the bridge you will find Hotel High Coast.
The High Coast Bridge means that the heavy vehicles that were previously forced to drive a detour of just over four miles over the Sandö bridge can now cross ångermanälven in a faster way. Construction technology is advanced with complicated works both underwater and at high altitude. The developer was The Swedish Road Administration Region Mitt and the bridge has been built by a Nordic consortium consisting of Skanska, Monberg & Thorsen and Alfred Andersen. The entire project cost SEK 2.1 billion.
Facts High Coast Bridge:
Length: 1800m Width: 17.8m Altitude: 180m
Concrete: 40,000 m³ Steel : 14,000 tonnes Steel wire: 8,500 tonnes Earth shaft: 50,000 m³ Rock shaft: 20,000 m³ Sail-free height: 40 m Span between pylons: 1,210 m Surface treatment/painting: 60,000 m²
Read more about the construction of the High Coast Bridge.
If you go on the E4, you will drive over the HögaKusten bridge a couple of miles north of Härnösand or south of Ullånger depending on which direction you come from. We can recommend a stop at Hotell Höga Kusten north of the bridge to have a coffee, enjoy the view or why not sleep a night or two at one of the area's most popular hotels? Don't forget to bring your camera. Regardless of the weather, season and angle, the High Coast Bridge always does well in pictures in all its splendor.

Höga Kusten Bridge, Sweden (No. 1)
The High Coast Bridge (Swedish: Högakustenbron), also known as the Veda Bridge (Swedish: Vedabron), is a suspension bridge crossing the mouth of the river Ångermanälven near Veda, on the border between the municipalities of Härnösand and Kramfors in the province of Ångermanland in northern Sweden. The area is often referred to as High Coast, hence its name. The older bridge across the same river is the Sandö Bridge, in a new extension of the European route E4. It is (as of 2016) the third longest suspension bridge in Scandinavia (after the Great Belt Fixed Link in Denmark and Hardanger Bridge in Norway), the fourth longest in Europe, and the 16th longest of the world.
The total length is 1,867 metres (6,125 ft), the span is 1,210 metres (3,970 ft), and the column pillars are 180 metres (591 ft) tall. The max height for ships is 40 metres (131 ft). The bridge was constructed between 1993 and 1997 and was officially opened on 1 December 1997 by king Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
The shorter name, the Veda Bridge, refers to the village Veda, which lies 1 km west of the south abutment of the bridge.
