The imagine shown to summarize the chapter terrified me ngl
On the other hand, the cover of my babies is so cute 🥺 yes I adore these two four. I hope they will come back later to do something more
The chapter was intense, I spent my time screaming at Finny to not go towards the light pls 😭 we already lost Snake, I don't need another loss this soon.
Also snake please, since you couldn't survive, I'm begging you to stay dead. Please. For me 💜
I was so happy when Finnian broke the bars for idk what reason. Maybe it's because we are seeing a different expression on him? He is determined to protect the ones he cares about (yes I believe he likes the children) and especially so soon after losing snake I like him going "not in my watch" and destroy everything.
I need to talk about this page now. Like:
It's so pretty? And with 3 single pannels I went from full despair to the happiest girl alive. Plus I like it mirrors when Ciel took his hand in the past 🥺 i wonder if Yana dropped some random hints with the hands (I'm getting paranoid because of this Manga)
But I'm a little petty we didn't get his past fully explained. I hope it means we will get the "Germany is making big bad weapons" back later? Maybe with the comeback of Sieglinde? (I just miss my girl right now)
I admit I wasn't that fond of Archie but it's all in the past, he is my baby and I love him now (Theo is still first tho)
Please Yana let me hug him. He needs a hug. We should all hug him. This page broke my heart once again.
The original tiny child is backkk 💜💜💜
Ok but, this reaction, what do they mean? They can offer something else to Nina that is not money, but what? Is Sebastian politely telling Ciel to fuck off and let her dress him up? WHAT IS THE MEANING?
But I'm confused, I thought everyone had to go undercover? Is he going undercover as R!Ciel? It would be easy if only he didn't have a full demonic contract in his eye? Is Sebastian going to change Ciel's aspect?
Oh wait, maybe Sebastian was hinting to let Nina dress Ciel AS A GIRL? Maybe that's why Ciel is going (o_o) ? Idk
Also I want to shoot the dude who went "well they either come back or drown, any is fine" FUCK YOU. YES YOU ARE A VILLAIN BUT IDC.
When I thought this chapter couldn’t get any worse and boy, was I wrong.
It’s so fucked up.
I don’t want any of these four oldest kids to die in the next chapter. Heck, I don’t want any more of them kids in the orphanage to die in the next chapter.
Damn bitch I just realized watching the new episode… regardless of whether or not Undertaker is related to Ciel by blood, the whole Undertaker makin zombies that attack OCiel is extremely fucked from a weird emotional perspective I hadn’t considered before.
Imagine ur creepy uncle SUDDENLY STARTS RESURRECTING THE FUCKIN DEAD AS KILLER ZOMBIES?? CUZ HES TECHNICALLY A DEAD GUY TOO?! Like idk how close the twins got to him growing up but he was around. Maybe it’s more like “dad’s creepy friend” than “my creepy uncle” but still. That’s weird as all fuck.
If that happened to me that my weird uncle by association was a death god who made zombies I’d be shook as fuck too, no wonder Ciel looks absolutely terrified in this episode lol
Like it’s worse than just “some random loco is making zombies” or “the crackhead who gives me intel is making zombies” it’s “THE GUY WHO USED TO COME OVER MY HOUSE WHEN I WAS LITTLE IS MAKING ZOMBIES”
I only have the cover so far, but let's take a look at the panels.
To make the whole thing logical and orderly I will start with the lower one.
Finnian
It shows Finnian, who holds the Fenian cycle book in his hands. About the meaning of the book we already know the following.
The twins were read it as children by Vincent.
Finnian was named Fenian by Ciel.
It appears in the F.O.L. orphanage.
Ciel is applied by the viewer and is opposite Finnian. Sebastian is behind Finnian and watches what happens. Finnian sees these two as his saviors, the once that made him into who he is now.
Finnian is generally very loyal to Ciel and protective.
Snake
Snake we see emaciated, dirty with long fingernails, covered only with a blanket and surrounded by his snakes. They all look up at Doll, who reaches out her hand to Snake. Like Ciel, she is turned away from the viewer.
Through these parallels, Doll is given the same meaning for Snake as Ciel has for Finnian, and also his snakes.
So what if...
...this is a clue. We already know how loyal Finnian is to Ciel, so is this an indication that Finnian has a similar relationship to Doll and will therefore turn against our Ciel to be on Doll's side?
Another similarity between the characters is the connection with book names. Finnian's name is based on Fenian cycle, and Snakes are named after famous authors in the Victorian era.
Are the two two sides of the same coin? So similar, friends, and yet will perhaps find themselves on different sides in the end, as enemies?
The more I look at it the worst it becomes (in a good way)
Everyone is always like "Ciel grew up so much" and yes I absolutely agree BUT CAN WE PLEASE APPRECIATE FINNY'S GROWTH TOO?
Just to refresh everyone's memory: when Sebastian "died" in Book of murder, at the moment where the servants went looking for the missing key, after he got a moment to "cool off" from the adrenaline and let Sebastian's death sink in he started to cry. As he should, especially because he is a child, he should be allowed to do so. And it's Bard that helps him (and Meyrin) to collect themselves because Ciel needed them, and it was important that they kept on doing what was necessary for him. Tanaka also enforces it. The older men explain it to them and they all can somehow start functioning again, relying on each other for support.
Now back to the new chapter. He just had to leave his colleague and friend to die, with the very high possibility he will never be able to even go back and retrieve the body. He helps the children leaving and almost die doing so, but they end up being relatively save now, and they have to go back to Ciel to report everything. He sees the windmill and remembers the past. His eyes water and then he does what he has to do: he keeps moving to meet with Ciel (while bringing the kids).
There is no Bard helping him. There is no one helping him with his emotions. He has to deal with them alone. He alone has to find the strengh to do every step toward Ciel. And he makes them. Without making a sound, wiping out the tears.
He probably wants to break down and cry but thanks to the past experiences, he knows he can't let himself to do it. He understands how much the situation is complex and how important this mission was. He knows he has to go back to Ciel, even more so since Snake died and the children would not be able to find him alone (and even if they did, there could be other troubles). He is the only one that can do it and so he keeps on moving. Despite everything, he keeps on moving.
