OK, so he's not exactly elaborating on its rise, but he's definitely implying that hard rock music had already become bloated, pompous, and stagnant by the mid 1970s, and needed a good kick in the pants in order to revive it again. Zep's still kool, though, at least in my book they are. Not all of it, but a lot of it.

Watching this in honor of it being the 54th anniversary of this concert. Was going to watch "It Might Get Loud" because some guy was born today, but couldn't find the DVD. He's in this too though. The guy with the birthday. That guy.
