I also Read 2 books.

In the Garden of Spite- Historical Fiction about Indiana Murderess Belle Gunness who lived in LaPorte at the turn of the 1900's. (LaPorte is 59 miles from Chicago FYI and I have SEEN the property where this shit happened. It is creepy AF.) I DO Recommend that one. It's a mix of fact and fiction but compulsively readable. TW for SA, Gore, Murder, Sex... like it is deeply fucked up and deeply fascinating. Proceed with caution. If you want the FACTS about Belle (as far as we know them) Harold Shecter (sp?) Did a true crime book about her called Hell's Princess and it's fab.

More people should know about Belle. The story is fucking wild.

I also read Angelika Frankenstein Makes her Match... I have considerably less warm feelings about this one. Like. I never read the Hating Game (this was also written by this Author and it's apparently good) And the writing wasn't BAD. But like... It just felt... off. Like an attempt to write a Feminist historical Romance that just fell flat. And there were a lot of Genre specific trops that were exhausting. And Angelika Frankenstein and her brother weren't particularly likeable but. At least it didn't make me want to put my head through the dry wall. And I could forgive the liberties taken with what I'm assuming were supposed to be Regency Era niceties. AND descriptions of dress. VICTORIAN AND REGENCY ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU/Gray News) - - Police in Indiana are investigating a scheme where multiple restaurant employees allegedly used stolen money to bail out inmates from jail.

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office said employees from a Hardee’s restaurant used stolen money from customers to bail out the inmates.

According to the sheriff’s office, jail staff noticed last month that suspiciously large amounts of funds were being placed into the accounts of inmates at the county jail from a source outside the jail.

The same inmates were reportedly bonding out of the jail almost immediately and leaving with the remaining balance on a jail-issued debit card.

This led to an investigation, where officials discovered a fraud scheme involving multiple employees from a Hardee’s restaurant in Michigan City, as well as several other people.

Police did not provide the address of the restaurant, but the WNDU reported the only Hardee’s restaurant located in Michigan City is at 5223 Franklin Street.

Officials say the Hardee’s employees involved took photos of customers’ debit and credit cards that paid in the drive-thru and were fraudulently using those cards to place money into inmate’s accounts that had low bails set.

The inmates would then bond out of jail, take the jail-issued debit card with the extra money left on it, and withdraw the remaining money from an ATM.

Deputies said a total of $14,700 was charged fraudulently, and the victims are working with their financial institutions to get their money back.

Authorities said ten suspects are facing several felony charges, including fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, and criminal organization activity as a result of the investigation:

Madison Zuk – Conspiracy to Commit Fraud (Level 5 Felony) and Criminal Organizational Activity (Level 6 Felony)

Anisa Higginbotham - Conspiracy to Commit Fraud (Level 5 Felony) and Criminal Organizational Activity (Level 6 Felony)

Hollie LaChapelle - Conspiracy to Commit Fraud (Level 5 Felony) and Criminal Organizational Activity (Level 6 Felony)

Carissa Bealor - Conspiracy to Commit Fraud (Level 5 Felony) and Criminal Organizational Activity (Level 6 Felony)

I sincerely understand your concern cause I’ve also haven’t been posting a lot since I was busy with graduating high school and moving from Georgia to my hometown in Indiana. I am currently having some quality vacation time with my dad at a Georgia hotel and we’re planning to go visit South Carolina and Tennessee before going back to his place in Laporte Indiana. I’ve also been ordering some 12 Oz Mouse plushies on Etsy.com and they are so valuable that they’ve cost me a fortune. Plus they’re JoeCop plushies from Ukraine so that’s why it’s so special to me. I’ve also been to a new restaurant called My Parent’s Basement which is a mix between an outdoor restaurant, a bar, a comic bookstore, and a small arcade. The day before that I got to see the Immersive Disney Experience where I’ve made a prototype Daisy Duck and My Mom made a bad drawing of Pluto. I hope you’ve been having a good pride month as I was and stay tuned for more updates from this tumblr account.

Visit to Hook Pottery Paper and Turkeyfoot Farm

On October 13, our department visited Hook Pottery Paper and Turkeyfoot Farm in Laporte, Indiana. The paper and pottery and studios are run by Andrea Peterson and her husband Jon Hook, and their son Ry Hook oversees Turkeyfoot Farm. Andrea Peterson is a renown papermaker who specializes in producing handmade papers from locally sourced fibers and dyes. Recently, Andrea published In the Field, which is a handbook for harvesting, processing, and making papers from natural fibers, such as daylily, hay, wheatstraw, and denim from local farmers. In addition to these papers, Andrea makes a highly textured style of binder’s board reminiscent of lumpy, irregular pasteboards commonly used by binders prior to the 19th century. Likewise, Andrea has a line of durable (and colorful) heavier weight papers that we are interested in for limp paper-case bindings. It was fascinating to see how Andrea’s innovative use of natural fibers is contributing to the field of papermaking (pun intended).  

In addition to touring Andrea’s papermaking studio, her son Ry Hook showed us around Turkeyfoot Farm, where he cultivates a variety of greens, livestock, and eggs for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and local restaurants. Ry discussed how he has been able to use regenerative farming techniques to improve the productivity of the farm while keeping its footprint small, both physically and environmentally. 

Jon Hook’s beautiful pottery is wood-fired using glazes formed from plants on Turkeyfoot Farm, such as thistle. The wood used to fire the pottery kiln comes from fallen trees on the farm and off-cuts from their on-site wood mill. Jon supplements the wood during firing with an ingenious oil-drip system that recycles used fry oil from local restaurants.  Visit the farm yourself next weekend! Hook Pottery Paper and Turkeyfoot Farm are having their annual Fall Open House November 11 - 13, 2022, with demonstrations of papermaking, fiber processing, farm tours, and ash glaze-making. Jon’s pottery, Andrea’s paper, and delectable produce from Ry’s farm will all be for sale in addition to soaps, jams, and art!

2020... HE STARTED WITH FIRST RULE IS

I simply replied that it was not possible. I should have known they believe a word I was trying to say. A lot of words were thrown between the frustration and fears that so far unfornately has come true. Even though I would try to tell them the actual situations and still they would laugh and wouldn't stop. At the same time all of them became a bit of familiarity.

No matter what I told them, or what it's about... They acted detached from it all, like they were in a trance. The subtle approach they took to confront me about smoking... That was a different story. The damage that was done to personal property of mine and Eric's and the girls was really hard to believe. Eric walked through it blind spending most of time at the lake or in the basement, or boarded up in the room. Most of the time it felt like I was alone and that my entire family had been hit by a wave of stupidity. But of course, this is coming from THIER independent daughter that had been away from them for 20 years... Jessica Jones back in the town where she was born in....Need I say more. I hadn't lived there since headstart and a few summers with grandma as Uncle Timmy played baseball. For them, they didn't know what to think... My mom ... Going through that empty nest stage. My dad trying to relax happy as hell he could get his house back. I was left speechless but not in a good way.... Kinda questioning the sanity of the entire city by that point.

With everything going on, along with Katie's 2nd disappearance while she was supposed to be babysitting my kids (my mom was upstairs)(I hope) (at least I didn't pay her before hand) but I was genuinely worried. That's when I started finding things out from Mother's Day 2020 in LaPorte.

People as in people in general in the universe, whoever did hear the events that year...

They forget about the trauma that has been done. Yes, I was hoping for a miracle..Therea been a few new accidents and other incidents that's contributed to it even more. But the underlying possibilities are still present. No I didn't come back to die, but with me comes common sense.

This is my 7-8th chance at life, literally. You never know what can or will happen.

I've been saying something's wrong for awhile... People think you are making it up... But no in the winter it's really bad. This year is a bit different.

With the Hospitals finally seeing that I'm not lying... Lol they really have been great. Hopefully my Medicaid card that I they help me get, because they remembered 2020 and that I had permission no matter what to use the "OZDYCK" name!!! And that me and Thomas was married...

New obstacle: Getting everyone to believe you that it was you they were talking to 4 hours away in Decatur, Illinois not LaPorte, Indiana.

It hasn't been great, really bad at times but it's getting better...

He found me November 19, 2022. We were able to sneak away I guess and spend 29 hours together... Shhh...it's a secret..WHOOPS¡!¡

He's currently mad at me this morning... I switched a good song.. and I can't remember it. I thought he was getting up to come get me...

I have came across a temporary situation to keep me warm for now .. unless I got too loud last night.

∞I have not seen the girls for more than a few hours at a time and that was awhile ago. One of them only a couple hours... The other if we're right and a few days.

THAT IS NOT BY CHOICE

I saw this in a Facebook group recently and of course said I’m going to find more information! This couple - Robert S. Fitzgerald and his wife Clara - set out on September 6, 1910 on a mission to walk from Mansfield to San Francisco. They carried all their necessities in the pictured push cart and the cart could be unfolded to make shelter for sleeping or waiting out bad weather. The purpose of their walk was reportedly “for the fun of it” and something beneficial for Robert’s health. The original post I saw said the last record of the couple was the beginning of October in Richmond, Indiana. I found a mention in the Indianapolis Sun, dated October 12, 1910, that places them 67 miles west of Richmond in Irvington. They were making progress on their journey and then they just disappear.

My theory is this novel local interest piece was actually old news. In May 1910, a couple out of Kansas City, Dwight Wolf and his wife, had walked from Kansas City to New York. Arriving in New York by mid-August, the couple turned around with their dog, horse, and a cart and made the journey back to Kansas City in less than a month. They were “tanned and dusty” but not too tired to announce, “Let’s do it again!” On October 19, 1910, newspapers from Utah to South Carolina to Vancouver reported Dwight and his wife would be taking their dog, horse, and a two-wheeled cart on a 7500 mile walk. The group would first head for Texas and then move east to Jacksonville, Florida where they would spend the winter and then wind up the East coast to the Canadian border before rounding back to Kansas City. We know the Wolfs had some success with their trip because newspaper reports show them arriving in Boston in August 1911.

With two couples going on a walkabout at the same time, who was the press going to put their focus on? The one with a proven record of completing the journey. Sorry, Fitzgeralds. We have no record beyond Irvington, Indiana, of where the Fitzgeralds went. Robert and Clara appear in the 1913 directory for LaPorte, Indiana, 155 miles north of Irvington. Robert is listed as the manager for the advertising department of M Rumley Co. This directory listing suggests their journey didn’t take the couple any further than Indiana, though what took them almost 200 miles north remains a mystery.
