World Breastfeeding Week, is an annual global event that takes place from August 1st to August 7th.

It aims to promote and support breastfeeding as the best way to provide nourishment and nurture to infants and young children.

The main objectives of Breastfeeding Week include:

Informing: Raising awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of infants and mothers.

Encouraging: Encouraging mothers to initiate breastfeeding within the first hour of a baby's life and to exclusively breastfeed for the first six months.

Supporting: Providing information and support to families, healthcare professionals, and communities to enable successful breastfeeding.

Engaging: Engaging with policymakers to advocate for policies that support breastfeeding and create breastfeeding-friendly environments.

Each year, World Breastfeeding Week has a specific theme that guides its activities and messages

genuinely infuriating that any acknowledgement of the way that bad faith trolls and out of touch corporations will latchon to progressive and humanist talking points and ideals as a means of shaming anyone that criticized them is STILL met with the exact same kind of shaming from people that are supposed to be critically minded.

it's not fucking bigotry to recognize that actual hateful people have and will continue to manipulate conversations and language about representation in order to try and paint progressive ideology as hypocritical or to simply cover their asses to continue the same awful behavior that they were criticized for before.
