So, I'm new to this and love it already. I have a random thought: What if, in a space-time distortion, Laventon and Markoth run into a Nosk? And that Nosk does a quick view of memories(somehow), and turns into one of the kids? I love this AU and my mind asked this question and will not leave me alone!

Was this just an excuse to doodle a comic and brainrot over AMIH again? Yes. Yes it was.

First a Garpede now a Nosk? The rare space-time distortions that pop in Hallownest sure know what creatures to choose to put our poor professor in danger. Saved by Markoth 'only rational person in this entire place' Mothman

Was Akari not a centaur before, or is she simply slowly evolving? I'm sure Stantler already had some psychic abilities before, but yeah, suddenly being able to read minds would be shocking.XD

normal people are'nt really a thing so Akaris always been a stantler even before falling, but now thats she's in hisui and has leant psyshield bash she's slowly started to evolve into a wyrdeer witch is wild for her because when shes from thats not a thing. so she has a bit of a freak out at first.

also Laventon fits so well as a dubwool, hes still a professor but with everyone being half pokemon he doubles as a doctor now

Akari is illiterate, so whenever she fills in her dex, she just tells Rei or Ingo what to write for her, or verbally gives her report to laventon so her can update her dex and thats why nothing is actually put in until we talk to laventon.

Fun new PLA submas idea!

Its a small concept but basically we've all been thinking about Ingo going to the future and reuniting with Emmet, or Emmet going back in time to reunite with Ingo

BUT

I present you with another idea!

Rather than one of the bros going to the past or future; its one of their pokemon.

Like, imagine Emmet's Eelektross ending up back in time and stuck in Hisui. As a non-native pokemon that that looks, lets face it, kinda terrifying I can see him making waves as he tries to survive and find his trainer. It would especially be frustrating because Eelektross is likely very used to PEOPLE and so ends up approaching humans A LOT.

Humans that have never seen a pokemon like him and who are a little scared of pokemon and end up running away. Plus Eelektross himself isn't really a pokemon that can express himself easily (kinda like Ingo) so its not even like he has many ways to express that he ISNT some kind of dark creature from the deep.

Worse yet when Akari/Lucas or whoever inevitably show up to investigate the problem, they can't even CATCH him because he's already got a trainer (Emmet). However he ends up following Akari around a lot because shes the first explicit pokemon trainer hes comes across. So hes hoping by following her he can inevitably find someone who will be able to understand he has a trainer and get him back to Emmet.

Then, somehow, he reunites with Ingo.

Thats the base idea tho there's a bunch of other stuff that could be fun to explore. Like how Laventon might immediately be able to identify it since he had an Oshawott and probably had been to Unova. Problem is, even Eelektross's modern pokedex entry makes it sound terrifying. So Laventon might only know of its more dangerous reputation. Which could cause problems for poor Eelektross.

It could lead to a lot of fun. Especially since Eelektross know Ingo and may end up kickstarting some of his memories returning.

pokemon legends arceus au where rei (ill be using rei just cause thats who i played as but it works with akari too) was transported back to hisui Much Younger and, seeing as how he gets along so easily with pokemon right from the start, is seen as an ominous omen for jubilife village (let alone the whole falling from the sky bit dont ask me how baby rei got outta that unscathed)

cyllene and laventon end up watching over him but theyre both super busy with their own work that he ends up getting ostracized from the village. at some point baby rei is left unsupervised and wanders away and ends up getting lost and ends up befriending a hisuian zorua

h!zorua is super confused by this child who has no issue with it and hisuian zoroark comes up for its kid and sees the strange human child with it

h!zoroark is obvs wary at first but h!zorua is pretty attached so him plus he doesnt have the same fear / malice / etc that most humans have towards not only its kind but also pokemon in general so it lets the two play

when no one comes to find rei then h!zoroark gets suspicious and lets them play, disguises themselves as a human and goes into the village, finds out that rei’s really treated like shit by all the superstitious people! it makes the decision right then and there that rei is now its kit and adopts him

yes this is all for feral rei, once hes about 15 he wears the baneful fox mask whenever hes out on his own and at one point runs into akari which is where the plot of the game would start about

all of his pokemon arent in pokeballs, theyre just ones hes befriended and earned the trust of with the exception of the starter youre given but even then he barely keeps that in its ball either

cynthia is cogita's grandkid! her parents weren't present so cogita raised her until, of course, she got disowned for the whole trying to destroy the world thing. cogita sadly passed away before they could truly reconcile.

while there is no canon ancestor to iris, i think its fun to say that cynthia met iris' ancestor and they had kids and 200 years or something later, iris exists and cynthia gets to meet her great great great great grandchild or something. we'll come back to iris in a minute :)

i also think that lusamine also decended from cynthia, which means gladion and lillie also are related to cynthia! not that its important but you know. giant family.

i do ship cynthia and diantha. i think diantha is one of the few who know that cynthia is immortal but was most definitely the most recent to find out. iris is not aware of this. but these three are found family anyway <3

speaking of found family, prof. carolina and cynthia's younger sister are purely adoptive of sorts. but they're still found family. love them. wow cynthia 2 found families thats crazy.

cyrus (cyllene) family tree

yes this looks odd without context but we do have context so it doesnt matter. cyllene x laventon is canon and you can pry it from my cold dead hands. too bad cyllene got widowed and then found out they were immortal AND trans after laventon died.

anyway, cy and lav were married and akari + rei were their adoptive kids. ingo was akari and rei's adoptive uncle too but that isnt relavent to the family tree. also laventon is a distant relative to leon and hop :) maybe he had siblings or cousins who are great (x?) grandparents to them. who knows.

anyway damn cyrus why do you got 2 found families. but yeah team galactic is naturally cyrus' found family of course. he is his commanders exhausted adoptive father since all of their families suck lmao

i think mars and cynthia have the biggest family trees. anyway mars' was the first one that i did incase that wasn't obvious lmfao, but anyway, lets get into it!!!

arezu is ariana's great (x?) grandmother. ariana had a spouse that she had mars (maria at the time) with, but then she left them once she was like 'oh shoot im having silver!!!', so mars is vaguely aware that silver exists somewhere out there but she has no clue who he is otherwise. and then ariana and giovanni are married and had silver, who has no idea who mars is (he'd probably go through a crisis if he looked at sinnoh news, so lets keep it that way). silv and mars have a 9 year age gap btw just throwing that out there

silver found a new dad (lance) and some really weird teenagers about his age who he got stuck with. he's dating one of them. you have to guess. (i already know which one but im leaving it up to the mind bc silver isnt the focus in this au so imagine whatever you want).

mars and her silly little astronaut friends are her found family! i think arezu would flip her shit if she found out her great (x?) granddaughter was adoptive siblings with that one criminal lady (coin). but hey its fine!!! mars has her weird spaceman father and her weird astronaut siblings and life is good (mostly)

i grouped these two together since they've got the smallest family trees.

saturn is (obviously) a decendant of coin, but he has no contact with his family and hasn't spoken to them in years by the time pokemon platinum takes place.

jupiter and fantina are siblings (fantina is older by a few solid years) but they really don't like eachother. they have little contact with eachother and dont exactly speak often. but they do wish eachother happy birthday sometimes so thats a plusside i guess.

and of course saturn and jupiter both have found family with team galactic. awww how sweet :)

🛒 - What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I love dialogue that gets bitten off, and looks or small actions (a clenched fist, a mouth pressed into a thin line, etc) exchanged with no actual context given. YOU gotta figure out what it means, and it often means so many different things at once that everyone could say something different and it'll still be right. I love doing that. I also really, REALLY love chase scenes, though I haven't really written many in years (bc i Only wrote those as a kid sadjnbhasdkn I was a huge fan of like. secret identity unmasking chase scenes lmfao) In PLA specifically i LOVE dangling in the slight unsettling-ness that is Akari and Ingo being so Used to pokemon. It is absolutely hysterical to me. They are basically cryptids.

🤩 - who is your favorite character to write?

HONESTLY? Not Ingo, or Akari. I love writing LAVENTON. Man's such an excitable doofus, mixing Researcher with Dad with Foreigner. He stands out from a lot of the Galaxy team bc he's just so much more ready to be hands on-- not fearless, not the way akari is, but so much more Malleable when it comes to interacting with pokemon. it makes writing him so, so interesting to gamble. also, gonna write kamado soon, and I expect I'll really enjoy writing him too. I love characters in power with paranoia and trauma. I love writing paranoia, especially.

Hi ive been playing pla all day and i gotta say i have a problem with how its handling characters… half of them are ancestors of existing characters that look and feel so similar to their counterparts that its hard to see them as fully new characters, and the other half ARE new characters but most of them (so far) are only relevant during the small part of main quest theyre in. And so theres no one left for me to feel invested in. And yeah i guess thats usually how pokémon works with gym leaders and stuff and maybe theyll come back into the story later but like. Im insane i play pokémon for the characters and ive got no rivals or companions or even friends really its so damn lonely lol </3

Eyyy it’s the boy!

Rei gets a whole-ass B plot and side quests in the Legendary Boon AU that take up a solid part of the second act, with all of these boons ending up being verrrrrry helpful in the narrative at certain points!

details below the cut for brevity

One of Laventon’s main points of research besides his more direct Pokemon research is on Boons and which Pokemon can grant them. Rei is the one in charge of that field work - both searching and recording - while Akari is focused on the PokeDex. Rei is very proud of this work!

Laventon tasks him with researching the three lakes and their respective pokemon after hearing Adaman and Irida talk about them. Rei takes it very seriously

The first boon he receives is Azelf’s. The “willpower” Pokemon gives a burst of “confidence” to its blessed - a blessing that Rei takes full advantage of during the Red Sky affair, and a few other situations. (This one can get used to comedic effect and... ngl its pretty funny)

Mesprit was next, and this boon is the easiest to abuse and use incorrectly... He did however get to use it to help Akari to help others understand the depth of her emotions. This also comes in handy in helping the Professor, but thats a biiit of a spoiler :)

Uxie’s is the most plot-relevant of the boons, with Rei’s use of this power being the direct cause of Ingo’s memory recovery. Ingo is actually right there with Rei, as Volo informed Ingo of the legendary’s supposed blessing and pointed him in Rei’s direction. This is the beginning of when shit seriously hits the fan for this AU, and it wouldn’t happen without Rei

Now... Rei *does* get one more boon.... but.. that’s a surprise :)c

I guess it comes very useful for Nib to have someone who understands it in this new strange place but also to avoid being spotted by wild pokemon and Alfas, but how does it communicate with Irida and the others? Do they know or learn from Nib/Ingo?

Does Lady Sneasler and the sneasels grow fond of it, maybe learn to bond with Nib immitating it's signs?

LONG POST! sorry to everyone who sees this in Tags, i tag it things for organization purposes

(NOTE: ALL SIGN LANGUAGE DEPICTED IS IN ASL because idk JSL At All and thats what i assume hisuian sign language would be)

volo actually helps nib out before anyone else! laventon, akari, and rei are all unfamiliar with the local sign language, but volo is a bit of a linguaphile. he's not Fluent in (the most common) hisuian sign language (HSL) but he knows enough to get by. in an effort to endear himself more towards nib, he takes some time after their first battle to teach nib a few really useful signs in HSL (and this continues as their relationship develops).

irida knows some sign, so nib gets to use it and learn more in the process! not every warden is familiar with it and a looottt of people in jubilife don't know it, unfortunately, so nib is sort of left struggling for a good minute there. volo does also lend it a small notebook so that it can write things out when it really needs to communicate with someone, but for the most part people have learned to use yes/no questions when addressing nib if they aren't familiar with sign language.

ingo and nib are very, very excited to realize someone else knows the sign language they're both familiar with! ingo plopped down in hisui knowing very little japanese (assuming that's hisui's spoken language), and literally no one ever used HSL around him outside of a few rare instances, so he didn't actually realize he knew unovan sign language (USL) until he and nib met that morning and nib unthinkingly signed, "good morning!" in USL.

(aside 1: despite having known one another before being dropped into the past, neither ingo nor nib recognize one another. this is somewhat thanks to arceus meddling intentionally to prevent such a thing from happening.)

(aside 2: nib is actually fluent in japanese and had no problem understanding everyone, even if the japanese that the people of hisui speak is "outdated" to nib. it's just that it never really had the opportunity to learn HSL/JSL)

as for the sneaslets....

the more the duo sign to one another in USL, the more the sneaslets pick up on it. ingo is. not entirely pleased by the result.

so i know in the centaur au akari is a stantler, but i had the thought of a hisuian typhlosion centaur akari, and now i have a need to see that in your art style

so with the centaur au ive basically got 2 groups the one where eveyones a "normal" centaur so like sawsback, stantler or something thats got a similar bodytype. then i have the other version where everyone just what ever i think fits like a haxsours or eelektross, also i should figure out a way to differentiate them in tags huh :/

so yeah hisuian typhlosion is a very good pick for her

I’d say most people would be scared/nervous, since that’s the average reaction to Pokémon but even more so to Pokémon they haven’t seen before.

Cyllene would hide it but seeing as she was scared of a bidoof, she would be scared of Akari (and annoyed at Laventon). She gives Laventon ‘the look’ and he quickly assures her that he has this under control and if anything goes wrong, he’ll take responsibility. She only states that he’ll need Kamado’s permission before letting this Pokémon stay.

Kamado was suspicious of Akari, since she fell from the rift. Laventon managed to sway him into letting her stay since she didn’t even attack him when they first met and her relation to the rift could help in their study of it. She was made Laventon’s responsibility though.

Eelektross in Hisui AU idea, I know we are still in the "events prior to Ingo showing up as the plot solution" but the idea of Ingo's and his beloved but Horrible Wet Guard Dog, that is almost overpowered for the setting (modern professional fighting pokemon have access to all the food, training and potions/ healthcare they need and research has figured better training methods like IV and EV, their only weakness is they follow Stardard Battle Rules like No cutting turn order or no mob Vs one guy) Anyways Ingo only somewhat remembers Eelektross (You have to have Ingo remember eelektross's train pun nickname, I recommend Catenary which is the wires that power electric trains/trolleys) So we have this Legendary Monster that terrorized and chased people for Weeks sitting in Ingo lap being scratched behind the ear(?) fins, wiggling in happiness, while Meille in the background is recovering from being electricuted (Ingo Did Not want to be Touched and eelektross Will make sure that is Respected)

Oh Ingo definitely doesn't remember Eelektross. Though, as you said, he finds him to be verrry familiar and is way more understanding of his behavior than others. I think it'd take even Akari and Laventon some time to stop seeing Eelektross as a wildly territorial pokemon. Ingo himself struggles to explain WHY he's able to make this connection beyond just stating that he somehow KNOWS and chalking it up to some kind of intuition. Regardless Eelektross is thrilled to finally find someone he now only knows, but who doesnt treat him either as a beast or some subject of research. So their relationship is relatively good. Whether or not Eelektross tries to help with Ingo's memory loss or is content with just watching over him is still up in the air atm tho he'd definitely grow verrrrry protective of Ingo after everything he's been through.

Eelektross is also definitely OP. Not just due to all the training, but because his species is a complete unknown in Hisui. I mean there aren't that many species in Hisui who can boast having no natural weaknesses in legends arceus especially if one considers Eelektross has a hand on his natural abilities (levitate) in a way that trainers and pokemon in the past dont quite have gives him a unique advantage.

As you say though, this is a double edged sword. Eelektross does NOT do well alone in the wild. Despite being well trained, in prime condition, and very powerful hes been raised taking direction from a trainer and while he does draw on certain memories of strategies Emmet came up with and used in the past, he doesnt have the skill to come up with any strategies of his own. Beyond that he has always been entirely reliant on humans for food, shelter, etc. and so fails in the wild because of that as well.

In fact, its that reliance on humans that more or less causes him to be mistaken as an aggressive creature in the first place.

I don't know about nicknames as I rarely ever give Ingo and Emmets pokemon nicknames (one exception being Ingos Excadrill eventually earning the nicname "Nana" in his absence but thats from a whole other concept) but calling him "Catenary" will certainly make things easier.

if akari went across hisui with chocolate, i feel like gaeric and zizu would like spicy chocolate, cyllene would have an unexpected super sweet tooth, and melli strikes me as the kind of person to like that super high quality kind of chocolate thats not super sweet and has bitter complex flavor to it
