Ashok Saraf: A Look at the Unforgettable Journey

Hey Tumblr fam! Today, let's chat about a stalwart in the world of Indian cinema - the one and only Ashok Saraf, lovingly known as 'Mama' to his fans. This affable actor’s career spans more than 5 decades, a true testament to his talent and endearing charm.

Beginning his journey in the Indian film industry in the 1970s, Saraf quickly became a favorite amongst viewers. He teamed up with talented contemporaries like Laxmikant Berde, Sachin Pilgaonkar, and Mahesh Kothare, and quite literally brought a laughter revolution in the Marathi film industry. Salman Khan, who had also worked with Laxmikant Berde in Saajan (1991), got emotional after watching a performance of his song Tumse Milne Ki Tamanna Hai, in a dance show.

Superstar Salman Khan has worked with Laxmikant Berde a number of times. He says the late actor was one of the biggest reasons for the success of their 1989 film Maine Pyar Kiya.

Salman recently shot for a dance show, where he opened up about his former co-star, read a statement. A contestant performed to the song 'Tumse Milne Ki Tamanna Hai' from Salman's film Saajan, which left the actor emotional.

Salman shared, "This song has a lot of beautiful memories attached to it. This song is from our movie Saajan, which was a big hit. This was my introduction song in the movie along with my very close friend Laxmikant Berde."

"I have done a lot of movies with him and I think he was one of the biggest reasons behind the success of Maine Pyar Kiya," he added.

"This song always reminds me of him. Unfortunately, he is not with us anymore."
