I think we need to talk more about Princess Brietta from Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus because not only is she one of the most gorgeous Barbie movie characters to ever exist, her backstory is so fucked up. Imagine celebrating your birthday and minding your own pretty business and then some creep with a scepter who is probably more than twice your age demands you to be his wife and then turns you into a pegasus because your father defended you on your behalf…I wanna kill Wenlock!

Why is there no shortage of complete assholes in this fandom that think just because Roiland's case was dismissed, the accuser should be charged? They not only insist this is how the legal system either should or already does work, but they attack everyone trying to explain that and that it wasn't even the reason he lost his job, that he was a terrible person all around and this was just the last straw- and they still insist he should get his job back, regardless. Why are these assholes almost exclusively on Facebook and Twitter? Even Reddit has been surprisingly civil about it. Is this just my experience?
Most importantly: Why TF won't they leave this show TF alone if they hate it so goddamn much?! I swear it's like Roiland is paying them. I only ever enjoy interacting with other fans on this platform anymore.

can people going after ashley call out garrus for his comment about quarians in the elevator with tali or will we just hyperfocus on the one comment ashley makes about aliens on the citadel

the fascinating thing about the maze runner books vs the movies is that they're both tragedies, but just...different kinds. in the books no matter what wicked did, they never got close to a cure. it was all for nothing: all the torture, all the death, all the money and effort spent trying to cure something that was just unstoppable. the world burned while a few hundred immunes survived, and there was no other way the story could have gone.
but in the movies they were so close. thomas was the cure. they had it in their hands and could have saved everyone, but they were just too late. wicked was destroyed, the last city fell, and with it the world's last hope for a cure. they almost got the cure in time. they almost made it in time to save newt. they almost won.

Oh so when Nico di Angelo gets a crush on the male protagonist after knowing him for only a short time but falls in love with him despite them being seperated for a whole year and shows up at his bedroom to talk to him because they're friends who're supposed to save the world together and does questionable things but without ill-intentions due to his abusive dad and gets character development from them and the fandom makes nonstop jokes for years about the protag being upset and jealous over him not liking him anymore and now has switched to saying Nico has a thing for blondes because of the show adaption,he's a childhood icon and super relatable and 'gender' and the best gay guy rep ever but when Gwen Stacy does literally the same thing and has a single ooc moment of jealousy and posessiveness over another female character who she hasn't actually treated badly herself and has yet to have a defining relathionship with her in canon since there's still a third movie for us to see it,she's one of the worst written characters ever and anti-feminist and 'racist' and dosen't count as trans girl rep🤨?

tell me why on the sole film podcast i listen to three grown ass men in their 30s and 40s, one of whom is a literal producer and writer for game of thrones, one a former critic for entertainment weekly, and the other an indie actor and filmmaker, had the audacity to tell me that they either 1. didn’t start watching agnes varda films until this podcast brought her up (her episode was a year ago), 2. have never even heard of her most famous film, an iconic inclusion of the french new wave genre, or 3. just straight up don’t like her

At some point I wonder if Black people get tired of consistently having egg on their face. Y’all love to defend other groups, but they rarely ever do the same for us as Black people.
Black people like to defend Latinos and they get a bunch of lightskinned and mixed Latinos saying the Ni**er to their faces because of their general ignorance of race vs ethnicity.
Black people like to defend indigenous people and they those same indigenous peoples(this really only applies to the ones in the south like the Cherokee, Seminole, Creek, and Chickasaw, and Choctaw) rarely ever acknowledge the fact they were oppressors to Black people. Or when’s someone brings it up, it’s “but they were kinder than the white people!” Like please-
Black people defend Asians, especially South East Asians, and we get them calling us slurs in their own language, extreme colorism, extreme texturism, and generational prejudice and biases about black people.
Black people defend biracials and their “blackness” and instead we get them replacing and erasing us in our own shows, other media, and praising the white features that they inherited from their white parent. Meanwhile, darkskinned women from Africa are called Eurocentric because they’re beautiful and have different features(despite black people saying we come in all shades and colors and features. Black people don’t like it when those different features aren’t on a mixed or biracial girl)
Black people defend the lgbt community and we get their community members saying we as black women aren’t women because of white supremacy.
Like are we not tired! Are you not tired of constantly being laughed at and being made the joke of the world?! Are you not tired your people are considered the front line warriors who will defend everyone if they don’t deserve it?! Would it kill the black community, especially the black girls and women, to focus on ourselves and our image that’s slowly disappearing. When will we learn to say it’s not our fight.

Hoghhh after a long month of defending the following characters from an entire discord server, I'm running back to here to say:
-I love Mark
-I also love Ashley
-I ADORE Emily
-I think Alex is okay
-I like Salim a lot
-I love Rachel
-I love Taylor
I am far less likely to get attacked here than there <3

Chrysta. Because god forbid a woman character makes a mistake, AND LEARNS FROM IT. But when its a male character??? “hes just a silly little cinnamon roll and a cutie tumblr sexy man 🥺🥺😜😜😝😝🥹🥹” NO. IM SICK OF IT. Chrysta is genuinely an amazing character, she can learn from her mistakes VERY EASILY. While yes, some of her actions are not justified, they can be explainable. There are MULTIPLE episodes that explains her personality and reasoning for her behaviour VERY WELL, but people are just too blind and ignorant to open their damn eyes. I know damn well if Chrysta was a guy yall wouldnt bat an eye. 💀💀

society if i could go one day without a sw*ftie literally threatening me when i rightfully acknowledge and call her out on her problematic behaviors. like your faves can and will be problematic, babes, and that is *fine*, you can still like them!!! you just also have an obligation to be aware of this and call them out, like, why is this such an abstract concept to them, what fucking hold does this woman have on them.....
