ohhoehoe! Dark!priest!Ari goes really well with innocent/naive!reader. Just imagine that his hands//
ALL OF THAT YOU TYPED OMG WE NEED A FIC WITH EXACTLY THAT PLOT (if you're willing) Dark!priest!Ari or Andy or Steve or Lloyd or whichever Chris' character you see more fitting 🥵🥵🥵🔥
oohhhhhh okiee so this is *temporarily* what I have in mind in headcanon (for now) but feel free to chip in
- Not specified which church so you can blend your imagination there -
(honestly I have next to little memory of this reblog lmao)
Favorite
Summary: You confess to Ari about some sinful thoughts you have in the Church.
Warning: Dark!Ari Levinson, Priest!Ari Levinson, innocent!reader, I'M PORTRAYING ARI as a predator priest don't read if YOU ARE HIGHLY RELIGIOUS. (and also the facts about church and priests could be a bit mixed up)
Tumblr media
Kids at the church joked that he might be Jesus, for the beard and the long hair looked similar to the ancient painting hanging on the wall.
Indeed, Ari Levinson is kindness and sympathy in a human form, saying that he started truly believing and having faith after a terrible incident that nearly took his life. He isn't from this neighborhood, but that doesn't stop him from being a part of it.
Barbeques at Winston's backyard, the annual fair in Rhinestone Park, the New Year's celebration of the local schools ... you name it, he's in. Whether to chip in from his own thin wallet or to help out pushing and moving things around.
He's a true saint. Everyone says so.
You confessed to him, after a regular Sunday morning, when the sun was blazing outside and this little church he stayed in remained a bit chilly as ever. You told him about the crush you have on one of the handsome boys in the sports team, and you fidget nervously because your parents told you it would be unholy if you had these thoughts of boys at such a young age before actually marrying someone.
He listened through your stupid little confession without any annoyance you'd seen on Father Richmond's (the older priest who actually runs the place) face, telling you in a soft silky voice that everyone sins, and they shall ask for forgiveness.
But, he winked, and whispered to you a little secret: since you are his favorite, he could pray to God later that night, and personally ask for forgiveness.
He led you to the altar and knelt with you, murmuring a string of prayers that you could only shut your eyes tightly and listen to.
You fear that God would be mad and abandon you and your family as a result - which you had told Ari prior, in detail.
"God spoke to me. He asked me to pass forward a blessing." He helped you up from the ground. The sunlight fell onto his velvety robes, creating a warm glow around him, making him look like a true saint, some might even say a miracle.
"Really?" You gasped in excitement. No one, and you mean no one has performed such wonder before, claiming that they could directly talk to God.
"Would I lie to you, darling?" He caressed your jaw fondly, his calloused thumb ran over the patch of delicate skin below your earlobe and you squirmed under his heated gaze.
"No." You whimpered, "What was the blessing, Father Levinson?"
He cradled your head and took your lips into a deep, soul-striking kiss.
"God told me he's fond of you. He has sent me to pass his future blessings on." Ari responded, softly smiling as your doe-y eyes widened in utter shock.
So shocked, in fact, that you forgot about your parents' words. They had told you before that kissing was also on the list of No-No.
"Me...?"
"Yes, darling, you." He mused, dipping his hand into the shallow bronze plate that carried holy water, drawing a mark with the dampened fingers on your forehead, "Now you should be rid of those sinister thoughts. If you have any more trouble, my office is always open for you, darling."
"Thank you, Father Levinson," You squealed, so happy to finally erase the heavy feelings off your mind.
"Anytime, darling." He clamped his hands together, kindly smiling at your happiness, "But keep this between us, will you?" He gestured to the confession and the altar, "It would be quite the fuss if the town knows about the all-loving Lord has a favorite."

National Theatre at Home set to stream Olivier award winning CONSTELLATIONS with multiple casts from 12 April
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The National Theatre announces that the Donmar Warehouse revival of the Royal Court Theatre Production, CONSTELLATIONS, directed by former artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse Michael Longhurst (Amadeus) will be available to stream on National Theatre at Home, the theatre streaming platform where global audiences can enjoy the best of British theatre.
Nick Payne‘s beautiful and heart-breaking romance was revived at the Vaudeville Theatre on London’s West End with a twist: four different casts took turns to journey through the multiverse and the infinite possibilities of a relationship; each refracting the play afresh. Starring Peter Capaldi and Zoë Wanamaker, Omari Douglas and Russell Tovey, Anna Maxwell Martin and Chris O’Dowd, and Sheila Atim and Ivanno Jeremiah, audiences can enjoy all four versions of the production from 12 April 2024 on National Theatre at Home.
A quantum physicist and a beekeeper meet at a barbeque. They hit it off, or perhaps they don’t. They go home together, or maybe they go their separate ways. In the multiverse, with every possible future ahead of them, a love of honey could make all the difference. CONSTELLATIONS was filmed from its West End revival, co-presented by Donmar Warehouse, Wessex Grove and Eleanor Lloyd Productions, Eilene Davidson, Gavin Kalin Productions, Grand Cru Consulting Ltd, Rupert Gavin/Mallory Factor, in association with Nica Burns for Nimax.
Captions and audio description will be available on the platform.

Tumblr media
Tw. Reader is insecure about her body
⋆⑅˚₊Beach Episode ✧˖°.
It was horribly hot outside, the humidity was deadly, and the ground felt like lava rocks, Ninjago City was known for its hot summers. So, it’s no surprise to find it’s citizens of the city try to keep cool.
Fans on full blast outside shops and ice cream parlors packed with customers desperate for something to beat the heat.
“Ugh, it’s so hot!” Kai groans as he sucks on his popsicle hanging upside down on the couch in front of the large white fan.
“Ugh, move your legs Kai...” Jay moans as he was using his one of Nya’s headband to push back his curly brown hair from his melting forehead.
“Both of you hush your hot breaths are making it worse” Nya snaps frantically fanning herself with her tank top.
Cole was sprawled on the couch with his drink hat that was now room temperature, “ugh, it’s too hot to even play video games.” Cole tosses the controller on to the table leaning his head back.
“You think we can use Zane as a freezer?” Kai suggests his voice chopping through the fan, suckling on his popsicle. “Maybe if we ask nicely, he can freeze us…” Cole mumbles out.
“Nya, I want water” Jay whines as Nya huffs, “I’m all dried out, I don’t have the energy” Nya sighs dramatically.
The team lays defeated as they squabble with one another.
You soon walk in smiling with a cooler against your hip.
“Oh wow, you guys look like you’re melting~” coming into the living room with a cooler filled with ice and drinks,
Jay looks up “what’s that? looks cold!” Jay looked desperate wanting whatever was in the cooler, he resembled someone addicted looking for anything to help his craving.
“It’s for later, Zane and I are going to the beach” you walk over to the door and place the cooler down, the others lift their heads, “the beach?!”
“Holy heck yea, let’s go!” Kai finding the energy he pops up and twists himself to look at you his popsicle forgotten as it falls from his mouth.
You giggle, “then c’mon, Zane is getting lunch ready to take, we’re gonna have a barbeque later so he’s getting that ready too.”
“What are we waiting for boys? Let’s get our gear on!” Cole takes his hat off and races the others up the stairs to get their swim wear on. Shaking your head you continue with your task,
“Did you tell the others?” Zane pops in holding a basket guessing it was the lunch and a bag of meat and veggies for the barbeque. “yea, they looked like little kids~” you chuckle as Zane places the stuff on top of the cooler.
Zane smiles, “I am glad, I was hoping for something fun to help us all escape the heat.” You nod looking to the clock, “we should get ready, I can’t wait to get there!” you skip up to your room with Zane close behind to get ready as well in his own room.
Zane had suggested the idea of a beach day to you when you had woken up that morning, he said his falcon found a spot on the beach for you all to have where no one knew about. A secluded spot for you guys was perfect!
You were eager to go with Zane thinking that he wanted to go with you, like alone.
However Zane had the thought of bringing everyone, you weren’t upset about it, more the merrier.
But you couldn’t lie, being alone with Zane on the beach together did sound romantic. You had hoped that your boyfriend was suggesting a date.
Zane was a bit slow when it came to romantic things in a relationship, you having to initiate almost all your guy’s intimate moments, but you knew what you were getting into when you declared your feelings for the nindroid months ago.
You don’t ever feel sour about it either you liked showing Zane different ways of being affectionate and how to show love in different ways and what some feelings meant. You just can’t help but think about cute scenarios of you two together and Zane leading you in those moments, he’s so gentle, yet precise with everything he does. So, the wonder of how he would act in leading felt like a fairytale.
But here you are in your room staring down at the swimsuit you picked out the week before summer started.
Wanting a beach day even before Zane suggested, you thought that maybe you could push the lead that you wanted out of Zane with a cute swimsuit. But now,
You were having second thoughts.
Staring at the vertical striped pastel pink frilly suit, you blush, it wasn’t crazy revealing, but it showed more skin than you would normally show.
Especially to Zane,
You had hoped in the moment to stun him with your looks to get a reaction. Seeing him blush with love in his icy blue eyes was your goal.
You hum reluctant as you try and convince yourself that this plan was still clever.
Maybe it won’t be so bad if I put it on.
Oh no, is that my cleavage!?
I think I’m eating a little too much…
eek! This is barely covering my butt!!
You turn in all sorts of directions as you stare at yourself in the mirror finding different flaws left and right. Grabbing your belly and pinching your thighs,
Did this make me look childish? Are my thighs too big? Oh no, oh geez…
The frills turn with every movement you made as you look in your dresser for anything else,
‘knock’ ‘knock’
You jump hearing the door,
“(y/n), are you ready?” it was Zane!!!
“uh-uhm yea, almost…” your voice squeaks as you desperately try and find a different swimsuit.
Hearing the door open your squeak, rushing to the door to close it as you saw it crack open. Startling the nindroid in the process he tilts his head on the other side of the door. “(y/n), are you sure you’re, okay?” You hold the door close, “ye-yes?” you stutter out. Zane was silent on the other side, seeming to try and calculate what was up with you without pushing any buttons that would make you uncomfortable.
“Would you like me to retrieve Nya?” Zane tries to help making you smile on the other end. “mm, n-no it’s oki, I’m fine Zane. I’ll be down inna minute oki?” Zane hums standing close to the door reluctant to leave.
“Alright (y/n), I will be downstairs, if you need any assistance, just call.” Your smile only grows as you nod knowing he couldn’t see you spoke again,
“I will Zane.”
Zane stands for a moment before walking away hearing footsteps you exhale the deep breath you were holding in.
Walking up to your dresser you curse, your one piece had a hole in it, it was old which was another reason why you went to buy a new swimsuit.
Looking to your closet you find a jacket, it was close to ninety-five degrees outside, but you needed a cover up.
You grab your jacket slipping it on closing it around your frame, seeing as it drops to your mid-thigh you felt much better when you looked in the mirror.
But then why were you frowning?
This won’t have Zane swooning over you, but what you were wearing before would probably make it worst.
Right? you nervously fiddle with your jackets string feeling tears prick your eyes, your bottom lip quivers out as you bite you sleeve trying to ease any sadness that was washing over you.
“c’mon, (y/n) the beach isn’t gonna wait forever!” Kai shouts from the living room impatiently.
Shaking your head, you wipe your tears and open the door grabbing your beach bag,
“s-sorry, I was just using the bathroom” you skip down the stairs seeing everyone waiting for you. Zane looks to you and tilts his head, “are you alri-“
“don’t worry about it (y/n), now let’s goo!” Jay shouts as he dismisses your face and the rest follow him out the door to the jeep.
You smile to Zane, “c’mon, they might leave us if we keep them waiting~” you joke trying not to let Zane see your insecurities.
Zane looked upset as he was trying to figure out what was wrong, wanting to help you.
“mm, alright, we should head out then” he didn’t smile as he walks out,
The nervousness in your tummy returns as you follow him.
When you all got to the beach the team wasted no time getting into the water, leaving you and Zane to set up everything. You chuckle watching your friends play in the water and chasing each other.
Kai and Jay in swimming trunks, Cole in tight swim shorts that went down to his lower thigh.
Nya had on a tight fitted wet suit that was black and blue, you couldn’t help but admire her form, she was muscular and skinny. She had curves in the right places, her swimwear was nothing like yours, watching as Jay gawks over her you feel a bit jealous. Pouting you sit curling up with you jacket still over you.
“You will heat up under there, are you not going to join them?” Zane stands over you with a light blue polo shirt and khaki shorts.
“I’m fine, I think I’ll just build sandcastles.” You spoke not too excited at your own choice of activity.
Zane hums and sits next to you criss cross as he scoops sand into his hand, “then I shall build with you.” Zane smiles down at you, looking up with your hood over your head you smile.
After a couple of moments, you both built a perfectly good sandcastle, you start digging out a molt for water around the castle.
“I’m sorry for dragging you with me, I know you're probably wanting to have fun with your friends.” You couldn’t bring yourself to look at Zane as he was on his knees forming a roof,
“I am happy whenever I am with you. I have no desire to spend my time any other way that is not with you.” Zane looks to you and leans down to lower your hood, seeing your face was sweaty he smiles down at you.
“Oh, my dove, you do not have to apologize for spending time with me. I will always want to be near you.” Your face was warm and not because of the heat, you were blushing at his nickname and his words. His perfect handsome face and kind eyes, the way his thumb glides from side to side on your chin, so close to your bottom lip.
You hum as you lean into his cold hand, grabbing his wrist so that you could feel more of him.
“I’m really hot..” you mutter out, tired from hiding as you come clean about your feelings.
“I am aware” Zane chuckles as you grab at your zipper hesitating to pull it down,
“I bought a new swimsuit.” You were slow at your reveal, feeling embarrassed to share your feelings to your boyfriend.
But Zane sits patiently, “May I see?” Zane grabs your hand that was on your zipper not making any movements, but he holds your hand as if supporting you.
“I don’t look like Nya though.” You whine feeling your tears again, Zane pats your head affectionately, “of course you don’t, you look like you.” He runs his hands through your hair.
“But I look…bad” you squeak trying to swallow down the lump in your throat, Zane smiles and lowers himself so that you can see him.
“I do not date you because of your looks, I date you because of your kind heart and your acceptance of me. There are many reasons as to why I love you, (y/n), I love you, for you.” Zane finishes as he feels you let go, your zipper falling as both your hands move together to reveal your body. You blush looking away, seeing Zane stare down at your body.
He slips your jacket off to see more of you, your cute belly, and chubby thighs. The frilly light pink swimsuit hugs your body showing your attributes that Zane normally doesn’t see.
Your pretty collarbone leading down to your cleavage, the tiny skirt on the side of your swim bottoms lifts for Zane to see your curves.
You finally look at him his hands felt warm almost concerningly warm.
“Zane?” you call for him seeing that he had spaced out; you then yelp as sparks fly from Zane’s head. “Ahh! Z-Zane what happened?!” you move to your knees and cup his face. You start to shake him to wake him up from his assuming overwhelmed system. Soon Zane comes to his senses and shakes his head,
“I apologize. You just look so stunning.” Zane lets out breathlessly as he leans over you to capture your body into his holding you close, his hands on your bare back as he hugs you.
“You’re so beautiful, such a pretty girl” his hands slide up and down your back, causing you to squeak your face turning red as a shiver runs down your back where Zane’s cold fingers grazed so gently. This was more of a reaction; this was so much more than what you expected.
“Z-Zane?” you look over to him his face felt hot, as his cold hands continues to roam your body. An audible gasp leaves you lips as Zane continues; you soon hum finding relaxation as you close your eyes feeling his hands cool down your body from your warm jacket.
You grab onto Zane’s polo pushing your face deeper into the side of his neck, you felt as though you were on cloud nine, you never wanted to come down.
And neither did Zane as he showed no sign of letting you go.
After a few moments Zane finally felt calm again, he lifts and let’s go, forcing you to wake up again. You look up to Zane and smile, moving your hands to cup his face,
“Zane, I love you.” Your heart skips as Zane places his much bigger hand over one of yours and closes his eyes, “I love you too, (y/n).”
You smile as you huff and start to stand, now forcing Zane to snap out from his daydreaming. “c’mon Zane let’s go for a walk together!” you hold his hand as he comes up, grabbing a bucket you both walk away from the others to be by yourselves for a little longer.
You scan the ground under you, your eyes go wide as you race over to find a chipped sand dollar. “Look Zane!” you hold it up for Zane as he peers down at it smiling, he holds out the bucket for you to place the shell in.
You both continue down watching as boulders get bigger, you both walk further away from the others. Zane stops and finds a shell too, placing it in the bucket after showing you the colors,
“aaahhh, I love the beach!” you happily start running feeling a burst of energy you start kicking the waves that washed up onto the shore.
Zane watches you happily run as he places the bucket down to join you, looking back you see him grab your hand as you both run away from the waves and return just to run back when the waves came again.
You lower your hand down into the water then brought it back up to flick water at Zane playfully. He chuckles then picks you up by your waist hearing your screams and laughter made Zane laugh as well. As when Zane got to deeper waters, he drops you into it, the water rises just below his shorts. When you come back up you pounce on Zane laughing as he laughs along with you.
He picks you up bridal style and spins you as he makes his way back to the shore with you in his arms still laughing.
He sits you down and sits next to you, watching the waves once again, “are you hungry?” Zane looks down at you nodding as you place your head on his shoulder. “I made sandwiches, I’m sure the others are eating now. Would you like to go back?” Zane stands and offers you a hand, placing your hand in his he helps you up and you both make you way back bucket in hand.
When you both made it back the other was already eating correctly guessed by Zane,
“Oh hey, there you guys are” Kai chews on his sandwich his normally spiked hair was down most likely from the water.
Jay had a tan already as Nya was putting sunblock on him a sandwich in her mouth as she rubbed the cream into Jay’s arm.
“I thought you guys left” Jay spoke with his mouth full, Cole laying on the towel his hands behind his back with Kai’s glasses on.
“We did sorta, we just wanted to see around the beach” you bend down to open the basket pulling out a sandwich.
You take a bite and hum, “thank you” you lay your head on Zane’s shoulder Zane smiles enjoying the fact that you liked the sandwich he made.
“Hey, (y/n) cute swimsuit” Nya smiles as she finishes her sandwich, your mouth was full looking to Nya blushing, “tahank yhou” you spoke wanting to show your appreciation to Nya’s compliment.
She chuckles and grabs a ball from the beach bag that Zane brought, “wanna play volleyball?” Nya stands looking to you, swallowing you nodded,
“Heck yea, I’m down!” you raise your fists in excitement standing up to create a line with Nya for your game.
"Alright, here it comes!~"
Nya serves the ball to you, and you pass it back, the boys start to cheer for you guys as it starts getting a bit heated. With Nya diving down to hit the ball, and you jumping back to make sure the ball didn’t land outside your area.
“Go Nya!” Kai and Jay shout,
Zane smiles cheering as well, “You got this (y/n)!” hearing Coles voice it seemed he decided to wake up and be on your side.
You huff as you dove to push the ball up to Nya, she was quick to serve it back hitting it with full force. It was too fast as it drops to your side bouncing out of bounds, the guy’s cheer for Nya and you saying good game as Kai goes to retrieve the ball for the boys to have their volleyball game.
Nya comes to offer you a hand, “oh my gosh, that was so cool (y/n)!” Nya gushes as she hugs you, “you were really good too Nya!” you hug back impressed with her skill just as much as she was with yours.
You walk over to Zane as Nya goes over to Jay and Kai, “you did great, there were moments where I was sure you would have won.” You chuckle, “Nya is really good, she’s incredible!” you look to her laughing as she was scolding Kai for picking a fight with Jay for something you weren’t sure of.
“You are amazing as well (y/n), do not forget that your talents deserve praise too.” Zane places a hand on your shoulder. You smile to him nodding, “I won’t, especially if you’re there to remind me~” you raise on your toes to wrap your arms around Zane, kissing his nose with yours.
“Hey, love birds, you gonna join us” Kai chuckles calling you guys, you both look to Kai and smile, “let’s go beat his butt, Zane!” you grin playfully determined to win this time, Zane smiles as he lets you lead him to your side.
He watches you play, hitting the ball when it came to him, he mostly just wanted to watch you, seeing your body twist and turn made his gears work even harder to calm his blushing face.
“Ahaha, we won!!” You run to Zane as Cole pats his back, chuckling at your guy’s victory. Kai groans as Jay and Nya congratulates you guys.
The sun was starting to come down as Zane stands by the grill with meat and vegetables skewered over a flame. You helped by making a place for everyone to eat, setting up plates and placing watermelon down, the rest were getting some more time in the water before having dinner and going home.
Zane looks over to you and nods signaling that the food was ready,
“Hey! Dinners ready!!” you call as your friends race over for dinner. You all sit together in a circle eating and talking finishing quickly as you all were hungry, reaching into your bag you pull out sparklers.
“Hey, you guys wanna light these?” you shake the box teasing your friends as they happily went up to you for a few sparklers.
Kai using his flames lights everyone’s sparklers, watching Jay run with his and Nya making large shapes. Cole had a bunch in his hands while Kai lazily twirls his around his fingers,
You lazily make shapes watching as the sparkler makes its way down the stick soon dispersing.
Zane was packing everything back up as you walk over to him wrapping your arms around his waist, Zane turns his head smiling at you. “Are you ready to leave, pretty girl” your tummy flutters as butterflies fly around giddily at Zane’s new nickname for you.
You nod not trusting your voice now as you let go to call for the others, hearing groans and huffs made you laugh feeling as though you were caroling your kids.
On the drive back you rode in front with Zane, you fiddled with your jacket string as you stared out the window seeing stars. Your other hand was being held by Zane’s as his other rested on the steering wheel.
“Zane” you spoke so quietly hearing your friends’ snores, but Zane heard you, even over the soft music playing. “Yes, (y/n)” his voice like silk as he called back to you, your heart felt so full to hear Zane say your name as you smile your cheeks glowing pink.
“I love you.” Your voice still quiet as you glide your thumb over Zane’s hand, Zane smiles as his eyes stayed focus on the road. But his heart and mind raced with you and only you,
“I love you too, (y/n).” His own hand moves to firmly grasp your hand moving his thumb to touch every space of your hand. Wishing to feel more of your body next to his, maybe you two can cuddle together in his bed when you both get home. Zane side glances you for a second seeing you were nodding off, his constant glide of his thumb seemed to be lulling you to sleep. Yes, that sounded like a good idea, cuddling with his girlfriend, when you all get home,
Zane wakes the others leaving you last as he carries you inside in a bridal style. His friends volunteer themselves to bringing the things inside and cleaning up much to Zane’s appreciation.
He carries you up to his room, laying you down on his bed he lays behind you pulling your body close to his as he spoons you.
Just like how you would with him when you first showed him to cuddle, He smiles fondly at the memory as he feels your chest rise slowly under his arm. Closing his eyes Zane falls asleep along with you. Your slow breathing providing as a natural melatonin.
“I love you, (y/n)” Zane mutters out before going into a sleep mode.

Tumblr media
“Hey sweetheart, do me a favor and grab some more buns!” your dad called from his spot at the grill.  You rolled your eyes as he waved his spatula in the air, trying even harder to garner your attention.  With a sigh, you waved, signaling to him from across the yard that you understood his request and that you were on it.
You made your way through the throng of people, excusing yourself amongst the number of  neighbors from streets away, all of whom had gathered in your little cul-de-sac for the memorial day barbeque.
And while you’d had every intention of pushing forward into the house and grabbing the buns, only to return outside, you found yourself giggling, being led into the house; while a pair of hands guided you by your hips.
“Lloyd!”
You felt his lips attack your neck; curving into a smile as his own laughter reverberated against your neck.
“Hey there, pumpkin…”
Your giggles got louder and soon enough the door clicked behind you.  You heard the second soft click of the lock and you turned, “Lloyd…what are you-“
But you were cut off when his lips met yours.  Instinctually, your arms went around his neck and you felt yourself pulling him closer until your bodies touched.  His hands went around your waist, needily holding onto; his fingertips stretching just enough to dig into  your hips.
“I want to be with you princess.”
“You are with me, Lloyd,” you reminded him gently between kisses.  You leaned into his arms a little bit more and his grin widened.  His hands slid back to around your ass and he gripped the fleshy globes, “Lloyd…we’re surrounded by our neighbors.  We can’t.”
“Can’t…or won’t,” he teased, “our neighbors wouldn’t care, sweetheart.  You’re my girl.  I’d think that they just want us to be happy….wouldn’t you?  You’re a sweet young thing…and I’m your well-hung boyfriend.”
“Lloyd!”
“Come on,” he teased, gently pushing you down the hall and to the kitchen, “we have to get some more stuff for your father to keep grilling.”
With each word he said, he pressed a series of kisses down your jaw and along the column of your throat.  You felt the arousal pooling between your legs, dampening your panties.  His hands slid away from your ass, one making its way back up to your waist, while the other slid between your bodies.  His hand cupped your mound and you gasped, backing away ever so slightly.
“Come on pumpkin, don’t be like that.”
“Lloyd…but what if-“
“No one is going to walk in on us, baby.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I locked the door baby.”
“Lloyd.”
“Just trust me, kitten,” he smiled, continuing to push you down the hall until you reached the kitchen, “let me make you feel good and then we’ll go back outside princess…we’ll enjoy the party, and-“
“Can we…”
He smiled, and our words faltered.  He took a few more steps back to you until you were in his arms, backed up against the corner, “you can say it baby…tell daddy what you want.”
“I want you, daddy.”
“Does daddy’s pretty little wife wanna feel him?” he taunted, bucking his hips gently against you. You moaned, your eyes rolling slightly in the back of your head, “do youwanna feel daddy fill you all the way up?”
“Lloyd…please.”
“Tell daddy….tell daddy what you want!  Come on princess.”
“Tell me what you like…”
“I-I don’t know…”
“You know baby…”
“I-I don’t, Lloyd.”
His hands gripped your thighs even tighter and he nipped at your inner thighs, “tell me, baby…tell me what you want.”
“I want to feel wanted!” you admitted.  Lloyd looked up at you from his spot between your thighs.  His steely eyes bore through you.  His hands worked at deftly peeling your innermost lips while he kissed his way back to your core.  Your hands reached down and tugged on his short, cropped hair, “Lloyd, please.”
“Tell me what you want.”
“I want you, daddy,” you purred, arching your back and pushing your core closer to his mouth.  Lloyd smirked, kissing your core, “I wanna feel every inch of you…”
“Thought you wanted to wait,” he teased, pulling away from your core.  You whimpered as he slid up your body.  You moaned when you felt him pressing his erection against you, slipping along your wet folds, “thought you wanted us to take our time.”
“Don’t wanna wait,” you whimpered in response, attempting to arch yourself against him.  His chuckles sent shivers down your spine, “Lloyd…”
“I want to make you my little wife,” he admitted slowly, pressing a line of kisses along your chest.  His hand fell to your abdomen, gently rubbing your stomach, “want to see you being my sweet little wife…pregnant with our child…I want you, princess.”
“I want that!” you said dreamily, eyes rolling into your skull as he pressed himself inside of you, stretching your core around his thick length.  Your hands reached for his, “oh god, Lloyd.  I want that fantasy.”
“Whatever you want, pumpkin…I’ll give it to you!” he growled.
“That’s why you’re so helpful to daddy,” he teased.  The cool marble countertop dug into your skin and you moaned, feeling his cock hitting every spot inside of you.  His hands slipped from your waist, reaching up to link up with your own hands.  His breath was hot on your neck as he pounded away.  A shiver ran down your spine as his mustache began to tickle your neck.  Your nipples pebbled and he pushed your top half against the counter, “oh god, baby…you feel so good taking me, princess.  Gonna make you a sweet little mommy…you’re gonna be my little wife…the mother of my children…I love you, baby.  FUCK.  I love you…”
“Pretty little wife,” you moaned softly, gripping his hands in your own, “all yours.  Only yours.”
“I love you, princess.”
“Fuck, I love you daddy!” you moaned, your walls clenching around his cock.  You gasped as he bucked his hips hard.  A warmth rushed through your body and your eyes rolled back into your head, “LLOYD!”
Your pussy pulsated around his throbbing member.  His thick, creamy seed spilled out around you.  You could feel the wet, sticky substance dripping between your thighs, sliding back down along his shaft and onto his heavy sack.
But you didn’t care about any of that.
You were high on the moment.  High on how your boyfriend had just made love to you in the kitchen and the two of you remained connected, happy on the orgasms the two of you shared.  You barely felt him lift your hand and slide something onto your finger.
“Be mine sweetheart.”
“All yours,” you purred, your head rolled to the side as you began to come down from your high.  Your cheeks feeling like they were burning on the cool countertop, “only yours.”
“I love you baby…”
“Love you daddy…”
“WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!”
You froze.
Your head snapped up and you saw the angry eyes of your father staring back at you.  Lloyd didn’t move, his cock still pressed deep inside of you.  You went to shift and he held you in your spot, “it’s okay baby.”
“What the hell are you doing to my little girl, Hansen?’

"Lloyd, let it be known that the next time you feel the urge to barbeque meat using a hairdryer, wait until I am present to attempt the experiment."

" Wh- it was a dare okay! And I was using a heat gun! How did you even find out about that!? "
Lloyd squawked at the very clear affront to his intelligence. As if he would use a simple hairdryer to cook a cheap steak.

number 1. zayne, lloyd, and garmedon definitely the lineup of favorite characters.
number 2. i hate. i hate misako. i hate her. i really hope she either a) gets some massive character development or b) never shows up in a relevant capacity again
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ some snippets of my anger
number 3. lloyd deserves a break. please. please give him a break for five minutes let him win sometimes im not asking for much. pretty much all he did this season was lose.
number 4. much to my unsurprise i think i am a little bit deranged abt lloyd & garmadon. maybe later ill be able to string a coherent thought together but like man garmadon loved his son so much he literally overrode his more or less preprogrammed nature . head in hands . like the whole thing they had going on this season where they just . Really Do Not Want To Fight bc they love each other so much even though theyre destined to or whatever. like YES YES YESSSS i LOVE stories where the characters fight so bitterly against the fate the author has chosen for them.
number 5.
Tumblr media
obsessed with this zayne outfit he looks like a middle aged barbeque dad
number 6. very glad to see dareth again after so many years. hes iconic hes a legend he is the moment
number 7. mentally i am not prepared for the cole/naya/jay love triangle that i distantly recall being a thing that i believe is coming up sometime in the possibly near future but at least itll never be weirder than whatever the heck was going on this season between misako and wu. i had completely forgotten that subplot was a thing and was taken so offguard when it came up
so yeah overall im having a very fun time and i am terribly excited to continue. for next season, i sincerely hope misako either gets her act together or stops being relevant, i want to see more stupid team bonding shenanigans, i desperately want some more of garmedon & lloyd, and also i would really like to see some more relationship development between various pairs of the crew. also also prayer circle that zayne does some more stuff this season 🙏 also also also. more alternate outfits please and thank you
1. your taste is impeccable 🤝
2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
little miss child abandonment why are you here. literally every plotline about you would be improved if lloyd had the complicated feelings he rightfully should
3. HE DOES HE DOES where’s that tweet from the show runner saying he was made for suffering. this kid deserves the world and a push pop and all he gets is a tetris game of trauma
4. would be THRILLED to hear your thoughts about them bc i too am incredibly deranged about them and you always have The takes of all time. what a fuckin stunning dynamic for a show that’s such a delightful mess
5. zane rights to be Just Some Guy. i Need to draw this now i can’t get that description out of my head agdhfjfj
6. dareth. king of bit characters. the only ninja i respect. he only gets better and i’m thrilled that i can say that genuinely
7. AGSHDJ YEAH. the love triangle is so awkward i will remember it all my days. misako and wu? so bad i forgot it ever happened bc it annoyed me that much.

JUNETEENTH
The Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order issued September 22, 1862 wherein President Abraham Lincoln freed enslaved Americans in the states of rebellion. It was not until December 1865, however, when the 13th Amendment was ratified, that slavery in the United States became illegal. The reason we celebrate on June 19 is because not all enslaved people in the states of secession were free until Union troops regained control of Texas in June 1865, and on June 19 the last slaves in Galveston, Texas were emancipated. Juneteenth first became a day of celebration in Galveston, where the final Proclamation announcement was made, and was originally called Jubilee Day. It became nationally recognized in 1996 as “Juneteenth Independence Day,” and just this week, on June 17, 2021, Juneteenth became the eleventh American federal holiday. The day is celebrated with learning about African-American heritage, reading of works by noted African-American writers, singing traditional songs, making and eating soul food and barbeque, and taking part in recitations of the Emancipation Proclamation. Go here for a transcript.
Our recognition of the holiday begins with sharing the children’s book Forever Free: The Story of the Emancipation Proclamation by Dorothy Sterling, illustrated by Ernest Crichlow, and published in Garden City, N.Y., by Doubleday & Co. in 1963. The book is a middle-grade collection of educational stories about the history of American slavery and the path to freedom. The author thanks the University of Chicago Press and Benjamin A. Botkin for permission to reprint excerpts from slave stories, originally published in Botkin’s American folklore book Lay My Burden Down: A Folk History of Slavery, originally produced for the Federal Writer’s Project in 1945.
Dorothy Sterling (1913-2008), a Jewish-American author, was a prolific author for both children and adults. She started out in the Federal Writers’ Project with lifestyle photo essays but quickly moved to black history.
“I was excited, but also bewildered and angry,” she wrote. “Why had I never heard of Harriet Tubman or Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass or William Lloyd Garrison? Here was a wealth of information, dozens of inspiring stories to tell to young readers.”
Ernest Crichlow (1914-2005) was a black American social realist artist in the Works Project Administration, notable for paintings, murals, illustrations, and prints, including the 1939 lithograph Lovers. He worked in fine arts and illustration with a goal to show the "indomitable inner strength, intrinsic beauty, dignity and essential humanity that exists in the African American community." CHALLENGE: The Tower of Salvation has appeared in The Echo. At its peak is a machine that will destroy everyone in the branch if not turned off. Every level of the tower has a hazard and you must overcome to get to the top in five hours. On each level is an echoed copy of an ally that will help you... but only one person can make it through the exit door of that floor before it closes for good (if they're on the ML, they won't remember participating.) The style is DRABBLE or THREAD. Good luck!
Everything was starting to feel right again.
Summer was upon the island; the warm light of the sun beating upon Lloyd’s back wherever he went, darkening the colour of his cheeks as he admired it under the foliage of trees surrounding the forge. So much had happened as of late-- but really, it felt like so much was happening all the time, making him feel overwhelmed some nights despite his best efforts to let it all go. Though there wasn’t anything wrong with allowing himself those quiet moments to mull over his experiences, and he knew that; feeling the pain, the worry, the fear that pulled at his heartstrings.. those weren’t things Lloyd could just simply forget, no matter how much something deep inside tried to tell him to push it all away. His memories, his experiences-- no matter how painful they were, they were his. He would carry them as the days passed by, though would not allow them to cease the happiness that filtered through him most days.
There was a time to mourn, to allow the weight of it all to hit him-- and there was a time to move on, to continue to live, as Lloyd so often did.
He was busy at work that day in particular, though there were no weapons being forged by his hands-- instead, Lloyd was setting up the outside of the building for some sort of party, something he’d been wanting to do since Kratos was saved from the human ranch. He hadn’t forgotten what everyone had done for his father during that time, and was finally seeing through the idea that had struck him once the dust had settled. There were tables set up, balloons that Luz had picked up for him, and a barbeque pulled out onto the grass; ready to be used for a feast fit for kings. As the brunette looked upon his work thus far, he couldn’t help the excited smile that quickly took over his features; fishing his phone out of his pocket to contact everyone who was invited.

The warmth of summer was gone within an instant, replaced with a cold so harsh that immediately snapped down Lloyd’s spine.
The green of the trees around him, the comforting sight of the forge he’d built with Zelos-- everything had disappeared, leaving Lloyd disoriented as he stumbled backwards briefly, his head spinning. What.. happened? He could have sworn he just had his phone in his hands, that his day had been so normal-- and now, he was..
Where.. was he? Why did everything suddenly feel so.. wrong?
It took him a moment to collect himself, raising a gloved hand to hold onto his head as he tried to pry his eyes open. It was dark, as if he had just been trapped inside some sort of storm; feeling the wind push at his face, rattling the swords strapped to his waist. But when Lloyd was finally able, he found himself in a place he never expected to see again-- his heart all but stopping inside his chest.
Before him, soaring high into the sky, far beyond the black clouds that were engulfing the area..
Tumblr media
.. no. There was no way it could be here. There was no way, and yet.. after what Kratos had gone through..
Lloyd knew that what he was seeing before him was real, that he wasn’t dreaming. It really was..

Some Los Angeles Tips
People are always asking me what they should do when they visit LA. I am by no means the greatest LA expert on earth, but I’ve lived here more than a decade now, and I have some ideas for you. Note that I live in the far Northeast corner of LA, and really rarely travel to the western half of town. So if you are looking for advice on Beverly Hills stuff or Malibu stuff or whatever, I am not that helpful. Also this is very subjective and really non-comprehensive in general. Just some stuff I like!
In General
Rent a car if you drive, but don't be afraid to take the bus or subway. There are some very long distances to traverse, and not everything is convenient to transit, but the transit is reasonably comfortable and efficient for a lot of purposes (going downtown, for example), particularly when combined with some judicious ride-sharing. There's plenty of parking everywhere, despite what Angelenos would have you think. Don't try to do too many things in one day, or cross town on the 10, 101 or 405 at anything even resembling rush hour (ie between like seven and ten thirty or three and seven on weekdays). Stick to one area for the day, maybe two.
The Museum of Jurassic Technology This is the best thing in Los Angeles and one of the best things in the world. It is part museum, part art project. To explain it much further might ruin the experience of visiting it, but please take my word that it is one of the most amazing places in the world.
The Watts Towers As the name suggests, they're in Watts, a bit out of the way for some trips, but absolutely without a doubt worth the travel. They're an incredible artwork/building built in a backyard out of rebar, concrete, glass and tile by an illiterate Italian immigrant in the mid-20th century. Worth signing up for a tour, they are cheap (it's a city park) and not all that long. There's also a little gallery on the site. One of the great works of American outsider art and a deeply beloved city treasure.
Other, More Regular Museums LACMA is a world-class art museum. The collection is a bit scattered (and as of this writing a wing is closed for renovation and replacement), but it's really good. It's in Mid-City on the Miracle Mile, and surrounded by other museums. The Petersen Automotive Museum is pretty cool if you're into cars. La Brea Tar Pits are more park than museum, but the museum is fun in a kitschy way, if you're into prehistoric creatures. It's also a nice place to eat lunch. In Exposition Park are a few major museums - the Natural History Museum is pretty good, though not better than others in other major cities (the Field Museum or whatever). The science museum is OK but significantly outclassed by the competition (it's no Exploratorium), though it does have a real space shuttle, which is pretty sweet. The Annenberg Space for Photography does what it says on the label. A good mid-size museum of photographs, check what show is up. The Broad is a nice contemporary art museum in a beautiful building that's right near Walt Disney Concert Hall, also an incredible building. They have a second campus in Little Tokyo that's very nice but smaller.
Architectural Stuff The LA Conservancy runs affordable walking tours that take you into some of the most fascinating built environments in LA. The subject matter ranges from Art Deco in downtown to the modern skyscrapers of the 50s through 90s. They're mostly Saturdays, but a few also run on weekdays. Can't recommend them enough if you're up for a couple hours of walking. You can go inside the Bradbury Building and up into the upper floors! It's cool. (The Conservancy also runs screenings in the big movie palaces downtown, which are mostly otherwise closed to the public. Definitely recommend those.) A couple of other architectural highlights: the Hollyhock House is in Barnsdall Park in Los Feliz. It's a restored Frank Lloyd Wright estate willed to the city many years ago that as of relatively recently runs regular tours. Also in the park is the city art museum of LA, which sometimes has some cool shows. Cal Poly Pomona students run tours on Saturdays of the Neutra VDL studio and residences in Silver Lake, which can be combined with a nice walk around the lake and some middle-aged-hipster watching. The Gamble House in Pasadena is an absolutely breathtaking craftsman mansion with a lot of
Griffith Park Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. It has all kinds of stuff within it - the LA Zoo, the Griffith Observatory, some great hiking. It's a great place to spend some time. If you have little kids, they will love Travel Town, a train graveyard/museum that's inside the park (and free!). The zoo is good if you like zoos, though not incredibly great or anything. The Autry Museum of the American West is worth a visit if you're into that kind of thing.
The Grove I know that we talk about The Grove a lot on Jordan, Jesse, Go. Please do not waste your vacation time at the Grove. It's a mall. It's fine. This also applies to the Americana at Brand, which we sometimes talk about because we have talked about the Grove too much. Also a mall. A little nicer than some? I went there when I needed a new power cable for my Surface.
Dodger Stadium Look, I am a Giants fan and hate the Dodgers, but if you are a baseball fan, Dodger Stadium is a great place to watch a baseball game. Even I can admit that. Angel Stadium is about as generic as it gets, but if you go on a weekday you can take a train from Union Station in LA.
The Getty Center The Getty Center is a beautiful building on a breathtaking piece of real estate. It's pretty cool to visit, but be aware that most of the art is pretty early, so if you don't like busts or paintings of feasts and stuff from the bible, then it might not be your jam art-wise. And getting up there is a whole thing. That said: it really is a beautiful building and an incredible view, so you probably won't feel like it's a waste. And if you like busts, then get your ass over there.
Downtown Stuff I will again recommend the LA Conservancy's walking tours to get a flavor of downtown LA, which is very walkable and full of incredible stuff. The main library is a beautiful edifice, the history of which is detailed in Susan Orlean's The Library Book. Worth wandering around in. Grand Central Market is a great place to get a bite, though pretty bougie at this point. Right next to Grand Central Market is Angel's Flight, a block-long funicular that is a lot of fun and costs next to nothing. Besides this, there are still functional specialized commercial districts in downtown LA. The flower district is particularly fun - the big flower market opens early for wholesale sales but is open to the public and there are tons of stores selling silk and artificial flowers which are very fun to wander through. There are also areas with stores specializing in selling imported toys, store fixtures (a favorite of mine), jewelry and fabric. Most of the fabric is kinda garbage honestly but there is a good tailor supply store called B. Black and Sons and a great hat making store (worth visiting even if you don't make hats) called California Millinery Supply. FIDM also has a thrift store with cheap fabric leftover from LA-based factories.
Movies The Arclight is a fancy movie chain, and the Hollywood location (near Amoeba Records) is also the home of the Cinerama Dome, which is pretty fun. The Vista is a great single-screen theater on the east side. There are some great rep houses on the west side - check your local listings.
Comedy Stuff The UCB has a few great shows every night at both locations. It's hard to go wrong, though you should be aware you will be seeing things that are a little rougher than whatever makes it to your town as a road show. The signature improv show is Asssscat, which is absolutely as good as it gets. Dynasty Typewriter (right by our office) has a lot of great shows these days. A great standup show is Hot Tub at the Virgil. The big comedy clubs have pretty comedy-club-y comedy in them, not necessarily what I'd recommend, though you will certainly see a lot of relatively big names doing sets. The Improv Lab sometimes has MaxFun-adjacent headliners who've put together their own lineups, as does Flappers in Burbank. Largo has bigger-name shows of this variety as well, and if you go see a show there headlined by a Sarah Silverman or Patton Oswalt, the lineup will likely be packed with their pals, even if they aren't advertised.
Some Places To Eat This is NOT a comprehensive list. First: Jonathan Gold died a few years ago, but he is still the king of LA food. Anything he recommended in the Weekly or Times is still the gold standard (no pun intended). He was also a wonderful writer and a champion of foodways that are unfamiliar to many in LA, much less outside LA. If you are a food nerd, KCRW's Good Food is a superb local food show (and podcast) produced by Nick Liao, who used to work at MaxFun.
Philipe's The French Dip A restaurant that's been around for literally a century, with sawdust on the floor, big jars of pickled eggs, ladies in hairnets and really tasty French Dips. They have competing claims to having invented them but the other competitor turned into one of those goofy sleeve-garter-barman subway tile exposed lightbulb places about ten years ago. Philipe's is totally for real and great.
Pie N Burger This is just a burger place in Pasadena that sells classic SoCal-style burgers and is really great. Cash only, though.
Langer's The only one of the Jewish delis in LA that's really worth a special trip. The #19 (pastrami, cole slaw and swiss on rye) is truly one of the world's greatest foods. Pastrami here is better than anywhere else I've ever eaten, including those famous delis in New York.
Park's BBQ
One of many great Korean BBQ restaurants in LA, but the only one recommended to me personally by Jonathan Gold. (I also like Soot Bull Jeep, which barbeques over charcoal and will leave you smelling like smoke, and Hae Jang Chong for all-you-can-eat.) (There are LOTS of different kinds of Korean food, but I am not an expert on the soups and blood sausages and bibimbaps and etc., but if you're adventurous, you could eat a different Korean food at a different spot every month in LA and make out well.)
Guelagetza Oaxacan food is one of the best kinds of food in the world, and Guelagetza is an LA institution that serves good-quality Oaxacan food. Moles, tlayudas, queso fundido. If you've never eaten any of this stuff, a couple of chicken moles are a great place to start (as is Guelagetza).
Dim Sum You can drive all the way to the San Gabriel Valley and eat at one of the many wonderful dim sum places there. That's where the best stuff is. If it's not worth a special trip to you, I like a place called Lunasia in Pasadena, and they also serve dim sum for dinner. Not a HUGE menu but good food.
Mozza This pizzeria, now a sort of group of restaurants, is an unimpeachably excellent Fancy Meal in LA. So (per my producer Kevin) are the other restaurants run by the same chef, Nancy Silverton.
The Dal Rae This is an old-timey fancy restaurant in Pico Rivera, a semi-industrial part of LA. It's just a great place to wear a suit to and eat Clams Casino. Famous for their table-made Caesar salad (legit great) and pepper steak (too peppery for me). Generally the food is excellent in a 1955 sort of way.
Bludsoe's Best Texas-style barbeque I've had outside of Texas. Used to be a window down by the airport, now a fancier place on La Brea, but I'm told the food is just as good at the fancy place.
Pupusas I love to eat pupusas. Maybe my favorite food. I really like to eat pupusas at Los Molcajetes on Hoover in Westlake (near Koreatown). Note they are weirdly big here (a regional variation of some kind) and they only take cash. (Note also this is one of 10,000 restaurants in LA named Los Molcajetes.)  I also sometimes eat at a nice sit-down Salvadoran place called Las Cazuelas on Figueroa in Highland Park.
In N Out In N Out is good! It will not change your life! But it is very tasty, especially for a $4 food! Some people complain about the fries, which are fresh-cut and fried only once and thus are less crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside than some others! I think they are fine! Try In N Out, why not! But maybe don't make a whole special trip to do so!
Tacos and Other SoCal Mexican Food Stuff Everyone has their own favorite taco places, and none of my favorites are so special they should be destinations. They are mostly my favorites because they are close to my home and work. But I can tell you that I like to get sit-down Mexican-American food at La Abeja on Figueroa in LA, where I eat a lot of carne adovada and enchiladas and sometimes albondigas or breakfast. I also really like to eat carne en su jugo at Carnes Asadas Pancho Lopez on Pasadena in Lincoln Heights. I eat tacos from Tacos La Estrella on York in Highland Park or the truck (with no name) across from the Mexican consulate on Park View at sixth in Westlake. At night I sometimes get cheap tacos (I like buche) from the place that opens up on Pasadena at Avenue 37. I like the shrimp and fish tacos at Via-Mar on Figueroa. I like Huaraches from Huaraches Azteca on York. The burritos at Yuca’s in Los Feliz (or Pasadena) are great, though they are totally different from the SF-style burritos that I grew up eating. I sometimes get nachos at Carnitas Michoacan on Broadway in Lincoln Heights, which feature meat and cheese sauce and are gross but also really, really good.  I have also eaten at the very fancy Mexican restaurant Border Grill and to be honest it is really good even though the interior feels a little like a cross between a fancy restaurant in 1989 and a Chili's.
El Coyote This is a famous Mexican-American restaurant from the early part of the 20th century, but you shouldn't go there because the food sucks.
Stores I Like This is going to be REAL subjective, but a few stores I like which sell the kinda stuff you'd expect me to want. &etc - A great (small) antique store at 1913 Fremont in Pasadena. The Last Bookstore - A downtown bookstore that is the closest thing to a "destination" book store in LA. Good selection and reasonable prices on used books, and a nice art book room. (Records as well, but they're not very good.) Gimme Gimme Records - I like this record store in Highland Park. You'll pay retail here, but reasonable retail, and the selection (while not immense) is really excellent. Good stuff in all genres.
Secret Headquarters - One time at this small comics store in Silver Lake the lady at the counter asked if I was Jesse from Jordan Jesse Go and they won my business forever in that moment. Don Ville - My friend Raul makes and sells shoes (and repairs them!) in the northern part of Koreatown. If you have the dough, get him to make you some shoes! The Bloke - A really great little menswear store in Pasadena. Sells cool (expensive) trad-ish brands like Drake's and Hilditch & Key and Alden. The Good Liver - A beautiful shop in Little Tokyo specializing in perfect home goods. The perfect scissors, the perfect dish towel and so forth. Some things are expensive, some aren't. H Lorenzo Archive - The "outlet" shop of a designer clothing store on the west side. Discounts aren't huge, but the selection is really interesting, and they have a good collection of one of my favorite brands, Kapital. Sid Mashburn - Excellent classic clothing shop on the west side. Suit Supply & Uniqlo - if you haven't got these where you live, they're the places I usually send people for reasonably-priced tailored clothes (Suit Supply) and cheap basics (Uniqlo). Olvera Street - This is an old-timey tourist attraction, a street of folks selling Mexican handcrafts (and their Chinese-made analogs). Right near Union Station and Philipe's, and a great place to buy factory-made huaraches (the shoes, not the food). They even have sizes big enough for me, which is pretty much impossible to find in Mexico or most Mexican-American shoe stores. Thrift Stores - I go to a lot of thrift stores but if I told you which ones you might buy something I would have bought so I'm not going to tell you which thrift stores.
Flea Markets You may know I am at the flea market every weekend. The good fleas are on Sundays, and there's one every week. First Sunday of the month is Pasadena City College, a big (and free) market with pretty reasonable pricing. PCC has a pretty big record section in addition to the regular flea market stuff. Second weekend is the famous Rose Bowl flea, which is HUGE and has a big new goods section (blech) and vintage clothing area (good!). Third weekend is Long Beach Airport, which is a great overall show. Fourth is Santa Monica airport, which is smaller and a little fancier but very nice. The Valley flea is also fourth Sundays, at Pierce College, and that's not huge but sometimes surprises me. With all of these, the earlier you can arrive, the better you'll do (not least for weather reasons). I usually try to get there around 7:30 or 8:00. The Rose Bowl in particularl is a 4-6 hour operation if you do most of it. There are also a lot of swap meets - I don't know enought to recommend any in particular, but these are much more about tube socks and batteries and bootleg movies than antiques and collectibles. Still can be fun, though, and are certainly a proud SoCal tradition. (The Silverlake Flea and the Melrose Trading Post are garbage, don't go there.)
Going to the Beach I'm not a huge beach goer, but by all means go to the beach if that's your thing. The Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica is a great place to base your operation, though you have to arrive in the morning on busy days to get a parking spot.
Kid Stuff I mentioned Travel Town, that's pretty great. Kidspace in Pasadena is a very good children's museum. The Bob Baker Marionette Theater is a great place to see a marionette show straight out of 1966. There's a good aquarium in Long Beach though it's a bit nutty there on weekends, and the zoo in Griffith Park is a good zoo. I really like Descanso Gardens, a big botanical garden northeast of LA. Huntington Gardens is also very nice, though it's much more expensive and hotter.
Geography Los Angeles is BIG. I'd say try to spend each of your days within about a sixth of it, geographically. It's entirely possible to do west side and east side stuff on the same trip, but don't try to do them on the same day. Look at a map and look at driving times when you're planning. Neighborhoods in LA are BIG, geographically speaking, don't assume two things in the same neighborhood are an easy walk. There aren't a ton of urban neighborhoods suitable for wandering in the way there are in some places. A few manageable general areas for stuff you might like: Silverlake/Los Feliz/Echo Park, Koreatown, Highland Park, downtown, Little Tokyo and the Arts District. (I live in the northeast part of town, and don't spend much time on the west side, which is one reason why this list focuses more on east side stuff. Some folks like West Hollywood and Venice on the west side. Long Beach and Pasadena are both neat towns with their own thing going on that might be worth a visit, too.)
Books & Media The Great Los Angeles Book is probably City of Quartz, a socialist-leaning history of LA. I really loved Susan Orlean's The Library Book, which is about the library as an institution, but also specifically the LA central library and the mysterious fire that nearly destroyed it. And a wild guy named Charles Lummis who was one of the founding fathers of LA culture and was really something else. (You can visit his house - it's right off the 110 near Highland Park.) An LA movie I love is The Long Goodbye, which is sort of a predecessor/inspiration for The Big Lebowski. A shaggy mystery directed by Altman where Elliott Gould just sort of wanders around LA. Another really cool one is Los Angeles Plays Itself, a long (long!) film essay about the ways the real Los Angeles has been used to create fictional worlds in film over the decades.
TV Tapings I'm not an expert in TV tapings. I can say that I've been to a few Conan tapings, and while it takes a LOOOOONG time to get in there, the show is fun to watch live. This is generally true of talk shows and most game shows, which tape more or less as-live. Sitcoms take WAY longer than you were expecting them to. Make sure to try to book tickets early if you have something you want to see. No matter what it's a most-of-the-day thing.
Nightlife Is a word that describes evening activities - especially dance clubs. I am old and don't know about these things.
The Magic Castle I can't get you in, please don't ask me to. I went a couple times. It's fine. If you're not into magic you're not missing too much. If you are, then obviously, it's a priority.
The Walk of Fame and Hollywood Not recommended, not worth it, don't bother.
Disneyland Why would you want my opinion about Disneyland? It's Disneyland. You're in or you're out.
San Diego If you happen to plan a side trip to San Diego, you can take the Amtrak there, and it is a breathtakingly beautiful and exceedingly pleasant trip. I have no San Diego expertise to impart beyond that, however.

Regrann from @hendrix.brown - Shot him 12 times while in his underwear. I know this was 50 years ago but have things gotten any better since then?? Via @docbrownonig Just two days after federal agencies conspired to murder Dr. MLK (see Lloyd Jowers 1999 case and conviction), Oakland police shot and killed unarmed 17yr old Little Bobby Hutton on April 6, 1968, 50 yrs ago today. An original member of the Black Panther Party and its first treasurer, his family had moved to Oakland from Arkansas after being visited by nightriders. At 16, Hutton joined the Black Panther Party because he wanted to make a difference in his community and bc he believed in the Party’s Ten-Point Program. On May 2, 1967, he was present when several Black Panther Party members made national headlines by appearing armed at the California State Capitol in Sacramento to protest the Mulford Act, which prohibited the carrying of firearms in any public place. Hutton and others were arrested several blocks away, a tactic police often used to cover from the public eye the common abuses they performed on citizens. On April 6, 1968, Terry Cotton, another Panther and former political prisoner says that they were on alert for aggressive cops since King's assasination had just occurred and were preparing to host a community barbeque to "keep folks cool," and avoid the riots other cities were experiencing. Hutton was in a carload of Panthers who were confronted by Oakland police officers; two officers were shot. Later, at a home at 1218 28th Street, Eldridge Cleaver and Hutton, in an incident connected to the earlier shooting, engaged in a ninety-minute shootout with police. Officers tear gassed the property and Hutton was trapped in the burning basement. He exited and surrendered stripped down to his underwear to prove he was not armed. Police shot him 12 times regardless. About 1200 persons attended his funeral where actor Marlon Brando gave the eulogy. His legacy surfaces in Tupac Shakur’s “Ghetto Gospel." He would've been 68 this year. These are the absent fathers, grandfathers and mentors critics love to count as missing in the Black community. #BobbyHutton #BlackPanther #StephonClark - #regra https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv8QGYrnKnc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=tpoznwc3t87k

LIVE at Meatstock Toowoomba
Meatstock is not just a BBQ festival - it’s an experience. It’s a BBQ competition, an expo, a rock concert, a car show and much much more. And so it was that I was very excited when it was announced that Meatstock was coming to Queensland. And boy, was it a show. In partnership with Toowoomba Regional Council, Meatstock Toowoomba set the standard for a BBQ event this side of the border. Never one to rest on his heels, founder Jay Beaumont decided that he was going to reinvent his signature event. Meatstock Toowoomba had the signature round of the Australasian Barbecue Alliance BBQ competition, a BBQ expo, a championship rodeo round, live country music on stage from 2pm til late every day, a strongman and strongwoman competition, cooking demonstrations, children's activities and of course only the best food trucks and drinks wagons on the East Coast. There was also this year’s Australasian Barbecue Alliance Awards - an industry event recognising the best of the best from within the BBQ industry.

Do you have any Garmadon headcanons?
Oooh maan you have no idea!! This is my favorite character of course I do!!! Im on mobile (as I always am) so I’m gonna use little 🗡 emojis as bullet points
🗡 He has big chompers like oni but he files them down to just be like regular sharp teeth. They grow pretty fast though, so he has to do it every day. Otherwise he can hardly talk.🗡 Garmadon’s second set of arms is actually his original pair so he does most of his writing with his lower set of hands.🗡 He is actually pretty competent at sewing. He can’t walk around shirtless/in armor ALL THE TIME, now can he!!!🗡 Probably has a custom apron he made. It is probably one of those ones that’s a girl in a bikini but she has 4 arms🗡 My eyes tell me the white markings on his face are laugh lines, maybe even facial hair. But my HEART tells me they are cool markings like the stone army🗡 Follow up: he has these cool markings all over his body🗡 HES A HUGE DAD!!! Hosting barbeques!! Wearing a robe and slippers!! Carries his son on his shoulders!!!🗡 He carries Lloyd all the time. Under his arm, over his shoulder, on the hip parent style. It’s like has to always be holding something.🗡 Has probably carried all of the ninja at least once

“Whoa..! This is amazing..!”
Lloyd was quite obviously bewildered by the scenery before him as he and Zelos entered the flower viewing festival; his eyes lighting up at the amount of petals falling from the trees, and the great big bloom at the center of everything. The forest truly felt alive in this place, and even if Lloyd had never really been someone to stop and smell the flowers.. it was hard not to appreciate what he was seeing before him here.
Tumblr media
“Zelos, c’mon! Let’s go check everything out!” reaching back to his friend, Lloyd wrapped his fingers around one of Zelos’ wrists, eagerly pulling him along further into their destination. “Where should we go first? Are you hungry? Oh! There’s a barbeque over there!” Clearly, someone was excited.
