The Scott Pilgrim trailer has left me really excited about what new Toronto locations are going to make it into the adaption. Pecaut Square?! In an anime?!? I haven’t been this excited since Mississauga City Hall showed up in Yuri on Ice!

(Then I realized some of the buildings in that Pecaut Square scene are too new to have been in the comic. Oops.)

My location wish list includes the Metro Convention Centre and the Ontario Place pods.

I think the pods are unlikely— they were recently used in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The Metro Convention Centre might happen, given it’s where the big local comic cons are held.

The big local anime con, Anime North, is mostly held at the Toronto Congress Centre. It’s a much less photogenic building and unlikely to appear. The con hotel, currently the Delta Toronto Airport, as a certain charm. A deep cut would be the old hotel, the dramatic and elegant Regal Constellation.

My hopes and dreams aside, I’ll probably do some location spotting threads as the anime comes out.
