About Me:

I’m a 16 year old who loves writing about my favorite characters that live in my head rent free. I’m currently ending my sophomore year and moving to junior year; I found out that I’ll be 17 as a senior which is kinda weird. I speak English as a first language but I have a bit of dyslexia so I tend to add a word that didn’t need to be there or I forgot a word. If you notice it and I haven’t just hit me up and I’ll fix it along with that kind gesture I’ll also ask for you to give me a prompt/idea that you may want me to write, I love hearing other’s ideas and helping them to put it to paper. I tend to be very step by step writer because I like to give a very good visual representation of what’s going down but I tend to do it badly but it’s in the process of becoming more refined and better.

Any dark and depraved depictions of certain characters who are not like that normally will most likely happen in my blog , but for the ones that do have it, it’ll be worse. The ones that don’t normally have it I do not see them in that light. I just write them in that light.

Tommy Shelby x reader

You’d known this family for around 10 years and been Tommy’s wife for almost 6. Even after two kids, you still feared for his life every day.

After Johns death, Tommy was even more stressed than usual. You were the only person who seemed able to calm him down. But you kept your distance and only spoke when needed because you really didn’t want to add to your husbands' stress. He trusted you and you trusted him. You only had the Shelby family and you only wanted them, they’re close, well, they were.

Tommy was done with losing people, he’d told you once that losing you might be the thing that breaks him. It was then that you promised you’d never leave and you were still here. Through it all, you couldn’t leave him. You loved him, that was it, what else needed to be said, even if people didn’t understand why you loved the man considered extremely violent; he was never like that with you and he never would be.

But things had been changing recently and Tommy was unwilling to talk to you, you would speak, but the complexity’s of his mind were all at once hidden from you. It had been after the cards from Luka Changretta. You knew he was stressed which was why you usually didn’t ask him about it, but that was the assumption he would speak to you willingly. Although you had not been given the privilege of knowing your husbands' deep thoughts and it worried you.

Tommy would generally tell you everything, call it therapy, but the man needed to have someone to tell. Polly wasn’t really there for him after the incident with the near hangings. You understood why she stayed away but still sort of disliked her for it, Tommy needed her, he knew it but wouldn’t admit it. Polly was the framework and the glue of this family and it was breaking from the inside out.

You’d known this family for around 10 years and been Tommy’s wife for almost 6. Even after two kids, you still feared for his life every day. You had to cope with the unimaginable worry of having a husband who could hide everything from you. He would never let you get hurt, he’d told you a million times he’d rather die than let you be harmed. Maybe one day, he would.

“Tommy.” You said one early morning, you’d stayed up for him for hours and it was now 1.am.

“Yeah, love.” He said as he stripped down to his cotton boxers.

“What’s happened? With us?” You asked and you suddenly saw something in Tommy’s eyes. Fear.

“What?” He said gravely.

“I used to be the person you’d let it all out too. I know it helps you to say it. But it also doesn’t have to be me. I’m just worried you’re holding it in.” You sat up a bit straighter on the bed. Tommy walked over to you and sat on the bed, not facing you.

“I’m okay.” He lied.

“Okay.” You accepted. You knew there was no point in carrying on asking him. You looked past him at the lavender on the window sill. It’s fragrance filling the air and calming you and Thomas. “Come here.” You whispered with tears in your eyes. Tommy lay next to you and leant his head on your chest.

“I love you.” Tommy gripped you around your waist. You pulled the duvet up to cover you both.

“I love you too Thomas.” You stroked his head before turning off the light.

A week later, you were sitting in the house on Watery Lane with your two children asleep on your lap, you slept as well. Tommy had basically assigned you to the house with your twin daughters. They knew not to ask any questions about dad, even though they often cried about his absence. You didn’t have the answers to tell them anything about their father, even after you briefly spoken to Tommy.  He still didn’t speak to you. Not about the important things or not at all. You didn’t bring it up. Maybe that was a bad idea. But you didn’t want to annoy him. But it was likely that you would.

On the windowsill sat a bunch of Lavender in a glass vase, the fragrance spread around your children’s room and calmed you momentarily. You would often put the small purple buds into the children’s pillows, the soothing smell making them sleep. It would ease Tommy’s nightmares, so you wore lavender scented perfumes to help him further. He hadn’t really realised it.

You like helping Tommy, you wanted too, but you were getting worried that it was becoming more of a caring job than being a wife. You loved Tommy, but you weren’t really getting anything in return. But maybe that was just you being selfish. You saw him so little that you weren’t sure at this point.

“Tommy.” You said quietly as he came into the room, late again. You were lying down but had been awake the whole time.

“Yeah.”

“I think I’m lost without you darling.” You stayed on your side and didn’t look at him.

“What?” He asked, confused.

“I can’t do this without you. Where are you? The kids, they, they cry cause you’re not here. I just feel like I’m not your wife anymore. I’m just waiting around for things to happen, you don’t treat me like your Significant Other. I’m just here to care for you, which I don’t mind but, it’s not a Husband to wife relationship anymore. It’s like you don’t see me anymore.” You sat up with tears in your eyes. “The girls are fucking scared of you Tommy. Your own children fear you!” You cried. “I can’t fucking handle this.”

“Don’t you think I wish I could just give this all up?” Tommy sat on your side of the bed. “That this business wasn’t mine. That I could just run and everything would be fine. But it wouldn’t be alright, would it.”

“I just don’t think a marriage or children is what you need right now. It’s too stressful.” You wipe your eyes.

“You make me happy,” Tommy said simply. “The girls make me happy.”

“You never speak to us.” You stated.

“Doesn’t mean I don’t love you.” Tommy was calm. Almost too calm.

“All they truly know about you is that; you work, you hurt people and you’re their father. But your kids don’t know you, so they just see you synonymous with the bad things. That’s why the girls fear you.” You didn’t want to yell but you were so angry at him.

“I’m sorry alright. I didn’t want any of this to happen and I didn’t think it would get this serious. Johns dead. Everyone else is being threatened. I’ve got threats about the girls and you and I don’t know how to deal with them other than distance myself.” Tommy put his hands together in his lap.

“What are we going to do Tommy?” You asked.

“I want to run away. All I  want is to run away. But I can’t. They’ll find us wherever we go.” You leant your forehead against Tommy’s. “But you make me happier darling. Happier than I usually am.” He smiled. “You smell like lavender.”

“I always do. It calms your nightmares.” You put a hand on his face and kissed him softly. “I’m all yours Tommy and I’m not going to leave you.”

“All I want are my girls. So I have to keep you safe. Which is why I wasn’t telling you anything because I was scared you’d get too scared and try to leave but, if you did that, you’d die.” Tommy held your hands and kissed them.

“You smell like cigarettes. How many did you smoke today ?” You grinned.

“I was by the fire for a few hours and quite a lot throughout the day, calm my nerves and all that.” Tommy kissed your forehead.

“I don’t want you to die Tommy.” You looked into his bright blue eyes.

“I don’t want to either.” He sounded like he was trying to make you laugh but you just looked up at him, “But, I need you.” His voice so quiet only you would ever hear it.

Tommy fell asleep on your chest and you hugged him close. You didn’t want it to be the last time you could hold him but you knew it could be.
