luke fumbling in recruiting percy has to be one of his greatest failures. a beautiful thing the show does regarding luke and percy's relationship is building rapport between them through shared moments like settling into camp, eating meals together, but especially through swordfighting lessons. the swordfighting scene at the beginning of episode 8 not only reveals that percy and luke already share similar beliefs about the fear-based system the gods have cultivated, but it's clear the conversation stays with percy when he fights ares and later calls out zeus on his waning skills as a father and a king. however, luke's plan fell through the moment percy learned that the winged-shoes were meant to drag him to tartarus. not only that, but the shoes nearly killed grover, a friend percy cared for deeply. if nourishing loyalty and trust was the key to ensuring a partnership with percy, then it was luke's faulty planning, arrogance, and impatience that cost him the greatest ally he could ask for.

Not to link everything in the PL universe back to the Azran… but does anyone wonder if Layton and Luke (especially) were so determined to investigate the Relic Stones because they thought there was a chance they could bring Aurora back?

Like, Luke knows the timeline doesn’t make sense because Baby Kat is born 2/3 years after AL and Luke walks past a mother and a baby who look like Aurora in the AL credits but after the shipwreck, in his exhausted starving mind, do you think Luke hoped the baby might be Reborn Aurora? Kat’s mother was literally called Kamila Azran—

The purple Relic Stones also look like the jewel of Aurora’s pendant…

I don’t think Luke gets enough flak for how he decided to investigate the Relic Stones on his own, shut Marina out, got himself captured by Don Paolo and then he inspired Layton (who was dedicated to raising Kat at that point) to go out hunting for the Relic Stones with him…

But if Luke was so determined to find the Relic Stones because he thought he could save his lost friend… I could see why he would take the risk.

Either that, or Luke wanted to help avoid another disastrous family reunion if Kat’s birth father happened to be alive and he could come back to fight Layton and kidnap Kat. (Luke still hasn’t recovered to the Bronev Family Soap Opera.)

Hello, five (or more, I wouldn't say no) spontaneous headcanons about a willex boarding school au? 👀 (sfw please)

-When Caleb gets a call that his sister left custody over her son to him, a nephew he never even knew he had, he is like: wtf. When he comes to meet with the social worker and sees the long hair, tie-dye crop top, and earring, he’s like: of course I am taking him in. (There’s a reason he hasn’t talked to his family for decades and he will not have them do the same to Willie as they did to him.)

Except being a full-time parent and running the HGC is not a great combination, especially with Willie’s flair for Chaos. So he makes him a deal: he can go to any boarding school in the country, or even the world, if he promises to behave enough not to get kicked out, and in return he can wreak whatever chaos he wants in the summers (within reason).

-Willie chooses the boarding school because they have a great art program, they’re queer-friendly (Caleb called to check), and it’s in the Woods and he 1) always liked the woods and 2) wants to see Bigfoot.

-Alex’ parents sent him to boarding school after he came out. Alex is not sure he understands their reasoning, given that it is an all-boy’s boarding school and that is like the opposite of ‘straightening him out’, but anything is better than the icy silence at home. Alex’ parents do not know the entire stack of Hot Gay Boarding School Romance Novels under his older sister’s bed that Alex may or may not have borrowed.

-Listen Alex likes his roommate Luke and he’s kind of open to the idea of starting a band with him but also he is SO ENERGETIC and he cannot sit still and he’s always humming and it drives Alex insane.

-So he goes to hide out in the library. Not the fancy new one with amazing computers and a 3D printer and shit, the dusty old one nobody uses because the wifi is shit and it‘s always cold and drafty but it looks great on pamphlets for the Old Money crowd. He bundles up in his hoodie and finds a comfy armchair and just gets to Be Still for a moment.

-Except his peace and quiet is interrupted at a gleeful shout and then a maniac on a skateboard comes into view, sliding his board on the fancy brass railings before landing hard and rolling right into Alex and his comfy armchair, sending both of them toppling backward.

-“Oh man you dinged my board” meetcute etc etc.

-Lots of cute sneaking around in the dark holding hands dates. Willie shows him how to get on the roof and it’s so peaceful and pretty there he loves it. They take up a blanket and watch the stars next time, and share their first kiss there.

-Maybe he sends his sister a postcard like: ‘Boarding school is great, I am learning so much, all this nature is so good for me, etc etc platitudes’ along with an abbreviated title of one of their favourite books with the chapter in which the main characters have their first kiss... on a rooftop.

- “I dunno what HGBSRNCH12 means, Mom, I think he was just trying to clean his pen or something, it’s just a random scribble. You know Alex hates when pens aren’t writing smoothly.”

-Soon they form a little group with Bobby (rich parents who travel a lot and don’t want to take him with them) and Reggie (the scholarship kid). Reggie is upset there are no secret societies at this school. He thought maybe none of them just wanted him, but he could still catch one in the act of secret society-ing. But Bobby (a legacy kid) told him there weren’t any.

-Obvs they start a secret society just for the fun of it. Since they can’t play music late at night without getting caught (then it’s not a Secret Society, Luke, you dumbass), their activities include Sneaking, Stealing Snacks, Trying To Find Bigfoot and/or Mothman in the woods, and picnics on the roof. But while wearing dramatic hoods and holding (fake, battery-powered, Alex does not trust these goofballs with fire) candles and stuff.

Okay but the novelization of A New Hope really cements to me how much Leia is meant to be Anakin’s daughter though??

The parallels between them, Darth Vader saying that Tagge’s lack of faith in the Force is disturbing and Leia saying that force has never been able to hold things together (yes they are talking about different types of “force” but dramatic irony goshdammit). Vader being described as cold and Leia being described as cold. Both of them being in situations and saying “Um, no, this doesn’t feel quite right…” Both “Obi-Wan Kenobi???”

And the prequels add to this because Leia is so stubborn that even with unspeakable means of torture, she remains steadfast and refuses to tell anyone anything. She spends most of her time glaring at people, but is also very soft to Luke. She is stubborn and headstrong and she rushes headlong into danger with a half thought-out plan and she is her father’s daughter in every way.

Like yes, Luke is supposed to be the obvious son of Vader, okay, but have you ever considered that actually it isn’t very obvious? Luke rushes headlong into danger, yes, but he also freezes up and he hesitates and he doesn’t actually seem to want to rush headlong into danger??? Where Leia and Vader seem to get a kick out of it, Luke in the novel is very nervous, hesitant even. He zones out a lot and he thinks about random things at tonally inappropriate times and he asks questions about the least important part of people’s monologues, it just feels like the “obvious” nature of him being Vader’s son is oversold by our ability in modern times to look back on it with knowledge of the twist.

And, consider this: if they did want to have a romance between Luke and Leia, as a lot of people seem to think, then Leia’s dad being the guy who killed Luke’s dad is a story decision that adds drama to the literal space opera.

I don’t know, maybe I’m looking too closely at a book that’s nearly fifty years old and isn’t even entirely canon to the events of the films, but it feels like the book was pitching Leia as the obvious kid to Vader, not Luke. Like, Leia talks back to Vader and spits on him and generally gives off a good façade of being fearless. Luke gets unnerved because Obi-Wan stared at him in silence for too long.

Luke's goal was to break the cycle, but in leaving camp, he placed two boys, Connor and Travis Stoll, in charge of the same crowded cabin. Two boys the same age as Percy, both likely around 11 and 12.

Luke didn't end the cycle, he restarted it.

A parental figure leaving a child responsible for other children, then creating a war and forcing them to fight it in. Causing quests. Causing death. Causing pain.

When Travis leaves, the same resentment builds in Connor. He has no reason to keep it hidden anymore. Who ever worried about him besides Travis? (Who ever worried about young Luke besides Thalia?) The anger. Lashing out at his fellow campers. Starting fights. A child leading a cabin of children into fights. A child walking into the woods following a voice that promises answers.

... and Connor Stoll looks a lot like Luke, doesn't he?

oh so many!! for the lsts-verse i'll probably have a compilation of sorts added to the series in a few chapters or so, of deleted scenes and flashbacks that aren't making it in

and maybe i'll actually post some of my luke-gets-warded-to-kings-landing, slowburn/fix it, enemies to childhood friends to lovers au that was being plotted long before lsts ever was, but has so many moving parts i've been hesitant to share lol :,) someday <3

The last episodes of the New adventure of Lucky Luke are so good, especially "Dalton Junior". It was so entertaining and there is so many good stuff :

- Joe discovering that he has a very strong parental instinct. I was not expecting that, but I’m so here for it !

- First time I see the other brothers Dalton going against Joe ! Because they draw the line at leaving a baby to die ( pretty based ). What a cursed image that is the 3 of them discussing about listening to him or not.

- them robbing groceries stores for baby stuff, it’s just so funny
