Yapping about the moon because what even is shutting up.

The moon's constantly moving. It's the Earth's natural satellite, and a satellite, by definition, is an object that orbits a planet. However, it doesn't really ever look like the moon is "moving" because we only ever see the same side of the moon. This is because the orbital period (time taken to orbit the Earth) of the moon is 27.3 days, but the moon is rotating around its own axis as well and it takes the same amount of time (27.3 days) to do that. So, to us, it never really moves per se.

Not only that, but the moon is also moving away from Earth. In fact, the entire universe is constantly expanding little by little. We prove this by taking a look at the Doppler Effect. The Doppler Effect states that as these objects (satellites, planets, stars, etc) move further away from each other (and, in turn, Earth) at high speeds, their wavelengths (so the distance between each wave of light) get stretched out and becomes longer. That also causes some of these objects in space to appear more red because the wavelength of red light is longer.

This is a longwinded way of saying that the moon is cool and pretty and constantly moving without giving much of a fuck and we should all try to be like the moon
