Lula discusses international agenda with Indian PM Modi

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed Friday during a telephone conversation the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and other matters of mutual interest, it was reported.

Lula again extended his congratulations for India's success in organizing the G20 Summit and reaffirmed his interest in cooperating with the Asian country during the Brazilian presidency of the bloc. Prime Minister Modi conveyed India's full support for the success of the Brazilian Presidency of the G20.

The Brazilian president also thanked the invitations to participate in the second virtual summit of Global South Voices (on November 17) and in the virtual summit of the G20 (on November 22), and confirmed his participation in both.

The South American leader also expressed his sorrow for the ongoing war between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip and mentioned Brazil's efforts to bring back home some 1,445 people stranded in the area.

hello and welcome to my corner of the internet

i am suitelifeofzackandmody, i'm 24 years old, and i was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (MODY) last year at age 23, although it might have been going on for longer.

i created this blog to share my experiences with that in the hopes that it might help someone else feel less alone. a lot of the diabetes-related content i've found on the internet so far isn't always super relatable to me as a young person with type 2, as i have to take care of my diabetes differently than a person my age with type 1 would, and type 2 is mostly experienced by people twice my age. it's kind of isolating sometimes, both online and in real life, so i want to use this blog to create the space that i need and maybe find a few others who need it too.

i want this blog to be a place where i can discuss not only my diabetes but also all of the things in my life that surround it: mental health, body image, weight, diet, exercise, et cetera. i know these are complex, heavy topics that often have a lot of shame attached to them, but i hope that we will be able to approach these with empathy and respect, and appreciate the nuances and intersections of all of these things.

a few things you should know: i am not a doctor or healthcare professional, so definitely don't take anything i say as medical advice. i am simply sharing my experiences, thoughts, and things i've learned along the way. this is not a diet, fitness, or weight loss blog, and i am not looking for weight loss advice or help, especially from strangers on the internet. i'm just a girl trying to manage a chronic illness as best i can while navigating the often difficult relationships i have with my body and food. my focus is on balance and health (including mental) rather than any particular set of numbers. i meant what i said in my bio; there is no shame in my game. i have felt it so deeply my whole entire life, and it's only made things worse.

from this blog you can expect, well ... i don't know yet, exactly. i have a few ideas, like creating or adapting some recipes i have found helpful, discussions about some of the topics i mentioned above, and periodic updates on how i'm managing. basically just anything diabetes-related that i'm experiencing that i either want to get out of my brain or that i think might help someone else. if you are also diabetic, please let me know what you would like to see here!

India and Brazil agree to conduct regular bilateral meetings

After G20 leaders adopted the historic ‘Delhi Declaration’, India and Brazil issued a joint statement reaffirming their commitment to the G20 as the premier forum for international economic cooperation to deliver solutions for the shared world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met in New Delhi on September 10, 2023, at the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the comprehensive reform of the Security Council including its expansion in the permanent and non-permanent categories, with increased representation of developing countries in both, to improve its efficiency, effectiveness, representativeness, and legitimacy in order to better meet contemporary challenges in international peace and security. They reiterated their mutual support for their countries’ permanent membership in an expanded UNSC.

Both sides agreed on having regular bilateral coordination meetings on Security Council Reform. The two leaders expressed disappointment at the paralysis created at the Inter-Governmental Negotiations on UN Security Council reform, which have not produced tangible progress. They agreed that time has come to move towards a result-oriented process that aims to achieve concrete outcomes in a fixed time frame.
