Boyd Holbrook as Clement Mansell in Justified: City Primeval - Episode 2 'The Oklahoma Wildman'

As part of a 1-Year Anniversary of Justified: City Primeval premiere celebration!

Aaaand I'm gonna repeat myself in this post yet again as well! Simply by just copying my words from my previous (linked above) post. And I might be repeating myself over again in upcoming gifsets for episode 3 until the episode 8. Be aware! 😇

First of all, I wanna give a huge thanks to the J:CP producers, creators or just the people responsible for casting Boyd as Clement in this! Casting Boyd in J:CP is the best choice/decision ever made, really! And also, I'm so, so happy that Boyd took/accepted the offer to play Clement Mansell!

And, I know I've said this quite a few times already but let me repeat myself!

Boyd Holbrook portrayed Clement Mansell to an absolute perfection! He did an outstanding job, just like always does! Phenomenal performance! He is excellent from the very first scene (the intro, really, the best intro scene I've ever seen) to the very last (still difficult for me to watch the last scene, the moment Raylan shoots Clement)! Also, to see and hear Boyd singing and dancing too in J:CP is a true gem! And after couple of, well, probably multiple times (I lost count) rewatching J:CP, I still can't get enough of Boyd's brilliant performance! Boyd truly deserved an award or at least a nomination for his work as Clement Mansell in Justified: City Primeval! People just don't see the true talent. Boyd is so underrated. He is a true talent! People just don't see it.

Also, Justified: City Primeval holds a special place in my heart. Clement Mansell is one of my absolute favorite of Boyd's characters and performances.

And now, I know I keep saying this but I'll actually never get tired of saying it so I'm gonna say that again!

Boyd is such a phenomenal and true actor! Such an exceptional talent! Such a lovely and kind person! Nice guy! Precious and wonderful human being with a huge heart! Handsome man! And I love him so much and admire him so much! And I'm so proud of him! There you go, I said it, I said it again because it's true! Deal with it! ❤️🌟🔥🥰😍❤️‍🔥

OMG your wednesday/tyler gifset is incredible :) I tried blending and a similar coloring a few times but it always ends up looking horrible :') Do you mind posting a tutorial of how to make gifs like that?

Thank you so much! That took forever (I actually started last night but got too sleepy, and completed just now 😁) but I'm happy with the end result as well. Now, I suck at making tutorials, and every colouring & blending effect is different based on the scene really, so I can do two things:

I can direct you to my favourite blending tutorial by @eddiediaaz,

I can share the psd of one of the gifs in that gifset.

I tried to name the layers in a way that is easy to understand. The first psd was made by honeycoloring, and the second psd was made by me, so feel free to use that wherever you want as well. Though it's nothing special.

hey everyone!! so, originally, i wanted to do one of these back when all of y'all were posting your 'follow forever' + favorite blogs lists for new year's eve, but at that point in time i didn't feel like i knew anyone well enough to make a full list. but now, it's been almost nine months (holy shit!!!) since i joined this fandom, and there have been so many people that i've connected with and who have made my experience on here so much fun and so special.

2014... what do you mean it's been a decade since i started using tumblr.... time isn't real

dirk gently is the single most perfect holistic detective in existence. sometimes i'm too attached to my url and my icon, i don't think i can ever change them. headers i can but i haven't changed my url/icon for 3-4 years i think.

i feel you linger in the air is THAT series for me. dethroned almost every other thai series on my all time fave list (i say almost because bad genius series is still holding its crown well)

BURNINGBLAKE’S 3K FOLLOWER CELEBRATION + follow forever

I’ve never done a follower milestone celebration on this blog before, but these past years I’ve become more active on this website and actually gained friends and mutuals whom I love and appreciate and who have altered my whole experience on here. So reaching 3k seemed like a good reason to celebrate you and express my gratitude. Having our interactions limited to the online sphere might do little to cause any major impact to our everyday lives, but I'd like you to know that just seeing your interactions with my posts or the messages we exchange with each other can sometimes brighten a bad day or enhance an already good one, so THANK YOU, for being the awesome people I carry with me on my phone wherever I go.  

I created this blog in 2012 and since then I've changed so many fandoms, so I decided that the event for this celebration should somehow try to include all of them. And so, I've made a survey for you to choose your favorite things that we have in common and that you have followed me for all this time (or even just recently). Favorite TV 2023

Succession + The Bear: I can’t choose between my fucked up, messy children. Both shows were just so phenomenally brilliant this year, I cannot be held responsible for the amount of gifsets I have reblogged from both. 

Reservation Dogs: Gonna miss this show so, so, so much. I will never stop recommending this show to anyone who will listen. It’s so lovely, so warm, so funny, so human. 

Somebody Somewhere: Res Dogs might be over, but this show is here to take up the mantle of quiet celebration of small midwest communities with big, beautiful hearts and goofy senses of humor. Don’t sleep on this one, guys!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Am I putting SNW this high on the list partly because I still feel bad I forgot it on last year’s list? Or because it’s an absolute delight that made me fall in love with Star Trek again? Why not both?! They did a goddamn musical episode, guys! Spock had a whole song about math!!!!!!!!

Slow Horses: Secret MVP of the Apple TV lineup. Pure pulpy fun.

Doctor Who Specials: Despite being an active part of Superwholock on this here website back in ye olden times, I fell off with Doctor Who somewhere in the Capaldi years and never checked back in. Even when it was announced RTD, Tennant & Tate were coming back I must admit I rolled my eyes a bit, assumed the worst, and didn’t give it much thought. And then approximately five minutes into the first special, when Ten Fourteen first sees Donna, I immediately started crying and realized that maybe I needed this, they needed this, we all needed this, and that despite all of its inherent silliness, Doctor Who still has the ability to be just absolutely special in a way few other shows can. I’m back in, baby, and totally psyched for what Ncuti Gatwa is going to do.

Jury Duty: Was very nervous about how this one was going to go, to be honest. The premise seemed a bit mean-spririted, and in less thoughtful hands this could have really gone a different way. But it wasn’t agonizing at all - it actually turned out to be an endearing celebration of kindness and human decency, and honestly we could all do with more of that these days.

Barry: But hey, if an endearing celebration of kindness and human decency isn’t up your alley, then boy is Barry is the show for you! It really was bleak AF in its final run but it turns out Bill Hader is an even better filmmaker than he is a comic actor (and he is an amazing comic actor, to be clear!)

How To with John Wilson: This show has always been so weird, so surprising, so surreal, so authentically New York. You never knew what kind of journey you were going to go on with John Wilson and his camera, but you always knew you were always going to have a great time - I will miss it very much.

in all honesty, i was very aware of the scene that you were referring to when i saw your request. i was also thinking of making a set for that scene but it got buried in all the current series i am watching. the scene itself was already beautiful and to be honest i am not good at scenes with sunset gradient. and i guess that's another reason why i didn't made this set until you requested it. and so i took it both as a challenge and an opportunity. who knows, i might end up gif-baiting other people to watch it?? lol

and yes!! i did have fun making the set. i had to combine some gradients with different blending modes and i had to manipulate the level adjustment layer a lot for each gif. i was very concerned that i might end up ruining an already beautiful scene so i tried not to deviate too much from the original colors but at the same time still incorporate my own coloring style.

i hope you don't mind me putting the comparison of the original vs my coloring. this is just to show you how much i had fun making this edit. i am also very satisfied with the result if i do say so myself. hehehe. ^^

anyways, it doesn't matter if other people don't appreciate it as long as the person who requested the set liked it, is what i thought. so i'm very happy when i saw your message and your tags in the post when you reblogged it.

bokuyaba is a dark horse anime series for me. it's something i watched simply because i wanted to explore different genre every season. i was thinking of dropping it after 1-2 episodes but i'm glad that i didn't. i am not an avid fan of romance, especially if the main characters are young but this series has something special to offer. it's one of my favourite romance anime now with school setting.

SO TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO DROPPED THIS ANIME, GIVE IT A TRY AGAIN. AND THEN SCREAM AT ME IN MY INBOX FOR WASTING YOUR TIME IF YOU STILL WOULD NOT LIKE IT AFTER WATCHING AT LEAST THE FIRST SEASON. XD

How I Met Your Father - Review

Seasons 1 & 2

First, know that I was there in the beginning. I watched How I Met Your Mother starting in season 3 and watched it as it aired until the very bitter end. Everyone has a show that disappointed them and let them down. But I honestly think that nothing compares to the horror of the last episode of HIMYM, because it made everything that came before it worse. Mayyybbee some LOST fans get it. But at least that finale wasn’t a character assassination in the name of one last smug trick. It was a rumination on love and humanity that allowed the characters a moment of grace in a world that denied it. HIMYM’s trashed seasons of character work for Barney and Robin and its own success in actually finding someone to play the Mother who was worth 11 seasons of waiting. But sure, wasn’t it clever they had footage of the kids before they grew too big saying the story was always about Ted loving Robin. Of course nothing that was filmed after season 3 really mattered.

I’m sorry to begin this way, but as Robin Scherbatsky and Barney Stinson appear in HIMYF, clearly in the between times, post divorce but before the titular mother’s horrible death, we have to talk about it.

I hadn’t meant to watch this show. Poor Chris Lowell will forever be Piz. The Veronica Mars trauma is another thing all together and others have written about that better. But as a lifelong Hilary Duff fan, I was curious to see her do a traditional adult sitcom.

In 2021, the pilot didn’t convince me. I agreed with reviews that said none of the characters acted or spoke like millennials. The side stepping of covid felt weird as well. Where HIMYM had a really eerie knack of conjuring NYC from LA, the reboot felt more soundstagey. I chalked it off as another mercenary move to mine IP and play on nostalgia.

But I guess this is why we live on Tumblr! Because the right gifset on your dash at the right time can make you reassess. And the right persons face can make you pause and go, I guess this is happening now.

In 2023, watching a comedy that was in fact pure shenanigans suddenly felt like a gift. As everyone reassess the changes in the US television industry, I hope distributors see the value in greenlighting shows like this again. I love my prestige comedies that want to incite anxiety attacks. But I also love seeing friends living in a city run around having madcap adventures. And I love a show that unabashedly wants me to ship characters and care about romance! Particularly the slow kind that works off dozens of episodes to establish.

And luckily for me, HIMYF has the very dreamy Sid, played by Suraj Sharma. I mean, who doesn’t at some point fantasize about a hot bar owner smart enough to go to [insert highly demanding profession here] but chose instead a cozy place where all their friends can hang. (See also New Girl). I need at least 3 more seasons, 20 episodes each, because I’m invested in the potential between he and Hillary Duff’s Sophie. Its nascent and yet so much more intriguing than Sophie’s other more obvious, but boring options. (Apologies to Chris Lowell’s Piz Jessie). Sophie and Sid have the easy charm to power a friends to lovers for the ages. And with his marriage on the rocks, and her dating his best friend, the melodrama is there too! The stupid concite of the show has its hooks in me again and I am definitely scared. You would be too if you saw the pathos and rawness Cobie Smuthers brings to her cameo. I’ve been kicked in the teeth before by this world. Neither of us are over it.

Fine, a brief word on Barney’s cameo. Awful. He talked about how he learned to respect women thanks to a special girl in his life. It was his fucking daughter and not Robin. I knew this and it still hurts. The electroshock pants weren’t funny. But I did like that he wouldn’t charge a nice girl for smashing his car if she had a fun enough story. That was the character I liked.

🖤 ok I know I bring this one of Max and Steve to the table every time I'm asked about my fave gifsets but I still just look at it in awe sometimes I love how it came out so much.

💜 this one of Dustin featuring Eddie, when I first got this song on the Spotify requests I didn't know how I was going to make it fit but I think I pulled it off (even if it hurts lol), I loved the effects of the film strip overlay and also how the colours came out on it.

🖤 this one featuring Nancy because the minute I discovered this song I knew it fit her to a tee.

💜 this yellowjackets gifset the song fits perfectly for them, the blending possibly someone of my finest and I love how the black white and red colours compliment each other.

🖤 and finally this Steve set, because who doesn't love a bewildered babygirl?

7: What is something you want to develop in your future creations?

I'd always say colour because it never feels like I get it as good as others sometimes but also maybe transitions and layouts more too.

10: An old creation that will always have a special place in your heart

see that's a tough decision right there because I've got 11, actually wait I think maybe 12 years of gifmaking under my belt and I can barely remember the gifsets I made in the last week lol, erm let's see (*spends forever scrolling through phone because I'm not on my desktop*) ah here we go, the year was 2014 and this chick just discovered how to use the selective colour layer in Photoshop to make her GIFs bright and bold and she had just got into the walking dead, I've come a long way since this gifset lol

14: A fandom you want to create more content for!

At the minute yellowjackets seeing as I'm rewatching it, I feel like me giffing stranger things though always outweighs everything else I try to get into giffing (hence why the other day I asked for requests outside of it lol)

22: A creation that was difficult to make (but worthwhile!)

I'm gonna cheat a little here and say the entirety of my 4k celebration GIFs, because it took me roughly 6 months to complete it, some of them taking up to a week to individually make because Photoshop hated me making these lol

34: Favourite individual gif from a set you’ve created!

I've got 2 faves that currently come to mind both from yellowjackets;

The first is from one of my five faves above, I love how the water ripple effect came out, and second from my latest yellowjackets set I just really love how I managed to blend her face almost perfectly like that
