Mutual 1: I wish someone could kill me so I could be reincarnated as a saxophone solo in Al Stewart's 1991 song Year of the cat
Mutual 2: Horror keeps piling upon horror and we will live old and wrinkled in this time of horrors. The only cure is to post black and white pictures of men who have problems
Mutual 3: killing baby Caesar does lengthen the lifespan of the roman empire by ~350 years, as it dissolves into some sort of federalist-feudalist structure not unlike the Holy Roman Empire. The main difference is that a sort of loose syncretic pan-imperial polytheism is the dominant religion, leading to Icelandic temples of Isis and Ethiopian temples of Epona. As such, this timeline was spared the drawbacks of a centralized state-enforced organized religion. The main drawback is that being a furry is considered blasphemy by the vast majority of humanity.
Mutual 4: if Pendleton Ward does not make Mr Cupcake a Trotskyist I will set the cartoon network offices on fire

Marginalized communities need those 3D-printed untraceable ghost guns with Family Guy muzzles, I need to make a living since I was thrown out of the commune by Hannah-Arendts-Strap (message me for details), Seth MacFarlane needs people to watch season 27. But Academia will talk about Kant's white-ass categorical imperative to argue no one should sell guns. Typical.
Mutual 7: I am in your walls. Why is there lead paint on your radium plumbing my dude. You know that's not aryuvedic.
Mutual 8: I'm sorry but Robespierre was a scapegoat of most of the French revolution's atrocities, and bourgeois reactionary elements have tried to turn him into a proto-totalitarian crazed madman, but the historical record paints a much more complex picture. Which is why I don't believe he would ever whip Danton's ass like you just wrote. He would be the one wearing the ball gag. How can I make you see the truth my brother ?
Mutual 9: Arabic and Eastern European poetry have been superior throughout the late 20th/early 21st century. We also have the best cigarettes. If we keep going we can surround Constantinople in the next decade, and restore the Palaiologos to their rightful place.
Mutual 10: The callout posts are true. Reflecting on it, it was obvious that our attempt to create a secret #LiberateBelize discord channel without British people was chavphobic. We are listening and learning.
Mutual 11: Pinkie Pie could negotiate the Oslo Accords, but Bill Clinton could never bag pony Weird Al

Mutual 16: Stop saying my think tank advocates killing orphans. We're pro-harvesting organs in youth correctional facilities for reduced sentences !!! But again we see the pro-carceral bias inherent to Lutherans. Have you guys even read Angela Davis ?
Mutual 17: Here's my solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict: spend a hundred billion dollars for multiversal research, reach the mirror universe. Israelis get the biblical kingdom of Israel borders on this earth, Palestinians get the 1948 borders in the mirror universe. I think this is the fairest deal America can offer at this time.
Mutual 18: I tried to live the life of a restless European adventurer in Macau playing roulette and serving as a mercenary to various conglomerates. Turns out they also charge rent there. Mutual 19: Yeah the canonization of Bolaño as the latest LatAm literary genius speaks to a sort of general malaise in post-colonial literature due to the collapse of magical realism as a viable tradition for meaningful political messaging. So the literature of unease and obsession and maladjustment itself is canonized, like an oyster canonizing the grain of sand that's tearing it apart. The fact that no other major voice has really appeared on the continent within the past 20 years should tell us this isn't working. Which is why the Brazilian JoJo fandom has a unique opportunity to meaningfully impact the course of world literature. #Multipolarity
Mutual 20: wow guys someone left a tray of perfectly good Mac & Cheese on a windowsill! Yummy!
Mutual 21: Did medieval surgeons pulling teeth get erections? I wouldn't normally ask this of my followers but I'm arguing about Sex Work with the ghost of Andrea Dworkin and I need hard evidence (no pun intended lol)
Mutual 22: Electro-Swing is a Belgian psy-op. I can't prove it, but I know it
Mutual 23: I'm the first neutered catgirl to be tried in a military court. But I know I'm not the last.
Mutual 24: Did you guys know you could eat olives? The thing they make oil from? I ordered three kilos of motors, so I can eat it with my roommate's Mac & Cheese
Mutual 25: Anglicans, amirite ? [Sounds of raucous applause]

Mind-reader!Kinn AU thoughts
I just randomly remembered this convo I had with @clandestinegardenias like two months ago (back when I was working on my little vampire!Kinn oneshot) about how Kinnporsche is basically a Twilight AU, which then led into us losing our minds over the idea of the cast having those random special abilities like the Twilight vampires. Since Kinn is obvs Edward, that would make his superpower MIND-READING of all things.
And that’s so !!!!! Because can you imagine Kinn as a mind reader, running this mafia empire with the added ability (which only a handful of people know about) to read the minds of everyone in meetings, to find out who’s planning to cross him, who’s working with his enemies, the second he hears their thoughts. He’d be unstoppable, even more badass, and probably even more of an asshole. (Vegas aka Jacob obv would HATE it bc his special ability is like…growing fur or whatever)
Since Kinn is Edward, that makes Porsche Bella, right? And her special power is this mind shield thing where nobody can get inside her head, including Edward. She’s the only person whose thoughts he can’t read. So imagine how frustrated and intrigued Kinn would be, stumbling across this hot bartender, being so confused that he can’t read Porsche’s thoughts when it’s never happened before. He’s leaned on his telepathy for his whole life to the point that he has even fewer communication skills than in canon, so he’s absolute shit at reading Porsche’s expressions and body language and gauging his feelings, even as he starts falling for him.
But on the flip side, to sprinkle in some agony, Kinn being a mind reader means he can also feel all the fear and anger and horror and sadness constantly surrounding him and thanks to his dad he's been forced to just LIVE with that. He's gotten so used to sitting calm and nonchalant while watching people get beaten up, tortured, killed, etc in front of him, all the while feeling everything they're feeling, knowing their last thoughts. And every time he kills someone, it's like experiencing the death himself. He lives his whole life that way, not even realizing how massively fucked up and traumatized it's made him until here comes this person, this ONE person, who's totally immune to his ability. For once when he looks at him, all he feels is blessed SILENCE, and it's such a relief on the one hand, but terrifying on the other, bc how can he trust Porsche without knowing his thoughts and feelings? How can he possibly love the one person who could betray him, lie to him, leave him, without Kinn ever seeing it coming?
And maybe Tawan just made that fear and mistrust even worse because Kinn could read his mind and still didn’t realize he was being played, because he was naive enough to tell Tawan about his ability early on and so Tawan learned how to hide his thoughts (prob with Vegas’s help). Kinn would never trust anyone after that, but especially not himself, and the idea of putting his heart in the hands of someone like Porsche without even the imperfect protection of reading his mind would be utterly terrifying.
But he chooses to love Porsche anyway, knowing it could ruin him, knowing it’s like Achilles baring his heel for the arrow, knowing it could end in a Judas kiss. He loves Porsche enough to take a gambit, even if it breaks his heart.
So anyway I feel very fine and normal about all of that actually

Alibaba, Tencent pour cash into India’s gambling loopholes
Tumblr media
By Ragini Saxena and P R Sanjai
Watching cricket and playing rummy are online passions for hundreds of millions of Indians, fueling a nascent gaming industry on the verge of quadrupling its revenue. That’s attracting attention from some of Asia’s biggest internet companies.
Tencent Holdings Ltd., Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and SoftBank Group Corp. are investing hundreds of millions of dollars in Indian apps that use loopholes in anti-gambling laws — some dating to India’s colonial era — to offer bettors cash prizes, vacations to Macau and new iPhones.
About 300 million players use apps such as Dream11, Play Games24x7, Paytm First Games and FanFight to gamble on “fantasy cricket” and rummy card games — a player base expected to at least double by year’s end. Industry sales are forecast to reach about $3.3 billion by 2024, prompting India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, to say the business eventually will surpass that of music, movies and TV shows combined ($12 billion).
“India is sweetly positioned to exponentially grow the gaming industry,” said Vishal Seth, a managing director overseeing mergers and acquisitions for Protiviti India. “The online platform has a very strong outlook considering India has the world’s largest youth population and the second-largest internet penetration.”
Bloomberg
Tumblr media
Winning Bet While e-commerce and video streaming are gaining in popularity, online gaming is considered a better business proposition because the individual transactions are immediately profitable. That’s because operators don’t have to invest much in building up logistics, inventory or content.
The boom is driven by Indians who prefer vying for cash and prizes as a better use of their online time than watching movies or playing video games that don’t offer any rewards. And business should pick up for some games with the country on lockdown through May 3 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Lingaraj MK, a 29-year-old software engineer, said he started playing rummy online on a whim and eventually earned a free trip to Hong Kong and $3,500 in cash.
“My parents used to scold me for playing rummy,” he said. “After I won the cash prize, they started encouraging me to play more and would ask me when the next tournament is.”
More than a third of India’s 1.3 billion people are internet users, and most of that is via budget smartphones with cheap data-usage plans. Before the coronavirus outbreak crushed the global economy, the local smartphone market was growing at a 10% rate.
Bloomberg
Tumblr media
Soaring Away As much as 90% of gaming in India happens on phones, said Girish Menon, head of media and entertainment for KPMG in Mumbai.
“That is attractive to Alibaba and Tencent because their entire ecosystem is developed around mobile phones,” Menon said. “The time spent on gaming is far higher than any other form of entertainment.”
The country also offers something that mainland China does not: a form of legalized gambling.
National bans date to 1867, but India’s constitution allows state governments to place games outside the prohibitions if they are recognized as being based on skill and not just chance.
The recognized games include rummy and fantasy sports, in which participants pay a fee to assemble a fantasy team of professional players and then win cash or prizes based on how those players perform in real-life games.
U.S.-based DraftKings Inc. and London-based William Hill Plc run similar businesses covering numerous sports, but in India, one sport stands above the rest: cricket. The professional Indian Premier League, which plays a faster version of the traditional game, is valued at an estimated $6.8 billion, with investors including Fox Corp. Chief Executive Officer Lachlan Murdoch and billionaires Ambani and Kalanithi Maran.
“Cricket is not just a sport in India, it’s a religion,” says the website of Dream11 Fantasy Pvt., a fantasy sports platform with 80 million users that’s backed by investors including Tencent. During last year’s IPL championship match, its users created more than 10 million fantasy teams.
Bloomberg
Tumblr media
Market Tripling The Mumbai-based company, which advertises as the official fantasy game of the IPL and the National Basketball Association, declined to comment. Dream11 reached a $1 billion valuation last year, according to CB Insights.
Tencent, China’s largest gaming and social-media company, also declined to comment. The Shenzhen-based company will tap into the experience it gained during the early days of China’s internet usage, said Vey-Sern Ling, an analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence.
“Tencent already has a strong portfolio of games that it can roll out in India,” Ling said, citing collaborations with Activision Blizzard Inc., Supercell Oy and Riot Games Inc. “Online games carry high margins, so they can be profitable from the start.”
To be sure, the national government could reverse course and either close that loophole, shutting off a revenue stream that KPMG said grew by 42% last fiscal year from a year earlier, or change the mix of approved games, said Utkarsh Sinha, managing director at Mumbai-based Bexley Advisors.
“Whether those gains remain sustainable is yet to be determined,” he said.
Alibaba’s lottery subsidiary AGTech Holdings Ltd. and SoftBank digital payments subsidiary Paytm jointly back Paytm First Games, an app offering 200-plus games, including Fantasy Cricket, rummy and poker.
The app, unveiled in 2017 as Gamepind, has raised more than $35 million from investors, Chief Operating Officer Sudhanshu Gupta said. Gambling makes up more than 40% of all revenue earned by games, he said.
“Mobile gaming is what has led the revolution in India,” Gupta said.
Immersive Experience Play Games24x7 touts its RummyCircle as India’s top-grossing game. The company’s backers include New York-based Tiger Global Management, which declined to comment.
Play Games24x7 co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Bhavin Pandya said he expected his Mumbai-based company to triple its revenue because India’s younger gamers want a more immersive experience than movies or TV shows can provide.
“The world is becoming very interested in the potential of gaming in India,” Pandya said. “It is only a matter of time before we see true gaming success stories coming out of India.”

New Post has been published on http://www.top20broker.com/news/morning-report-apac-asian-markets-higher-mixed-data/
Morning Report APAC: Asian markets higher on mixed data
Economic data of the day (Singapore Time; GMT + 8)
Speeches
1700 – EC – European Central Bank’s Benoit Coeure Speaks in Brussels
1750 – EC – ECB’s Ignazio Angeloni Speaks in Bologna, Italy
2230 – US – Federal Reserve’s James Bullard Speaking in New York
0500 – UK – Bank of England’s Andy Haldane speaks in San Francisco
Overnight news
United States
GDP grew 2.1% YoY (Exp. 2.0%) from 1.9% in Q4. Despite the revision the economy grew just 1.6% in 2016, the weakest performance since 2011. Growth in consumer spending rose at a revised 3.5% rate (Prev: +3%). Domestic demand grew 3.4%, the fastest pace in two years.
Imports spiked 9% (Prev: +8.5%), the fastest rate since Q4 2014. Exports fell more than estimated. As such the trade deficit subtracted a revised 1.82 percentage points from growth (Prev: 1.70 percentage points). Businesses accumulated inventories at a revised rate of $49.6bn (Prev: $46.2bn). Business investment was revised to +1.3% (Prev: +4.5%). After-tax corporate profits spiked 22.3% YoY, the largest annualised gain in nearly five years. As a share of the overall economy, profits accounted for 9.2% of GDP, up from 7.8% a year ago.
Core PCE grew 1.3% QoQ (Exp. 1.2%). This is the inflation measure that the Fed is watching.
Personal consumption grew 3.5% (Exp. 3.0)
US President Donald Trump
Trump warned conservative congressional Republicans that he would work against them in the midterm elections next year if they don’t support his agenda. “The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don’t get on the team, & fast,” Trump tweeted. “We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!”
Federal Reserve
Cleveland Federal Reserve President Loretta Mester said the US economy is on solid footing and any weakness in Q1 is just a bump in the road. “While growth in the first quarter may come in on the weak side, I think this largely reflects transitory factors and residual seasonality in the data.”
Mester forecast 2017 GDP growth to be above 2% and as such she believes “the conditions are in place for a sustained return over the next year or so to our symmetric goal of 2% inflation.”
Mester said that if the economy performs as she expects it will, the Fed should continue to raise interest rates. “My current assessment is that the pace of removal won’t call for an increase in the fed funds rate at each meeting, but it does mean more than the one-increase-per-year seen in the past two years. This upward policy path will help prolong the expansion, not curtail it.”
South Africa
South African President Jacob Zuma fired Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and eight other cabinet members in a high-stakes power play that may threaten his own presidency and risks the nation’s investment grade credit rating.
Gordhan was replaced by Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba, who has no financial or business experience, while lawmaker Sfiso Buthelezi takes over from Mcebisi Jonas as deputy finance minister. The cabinet overhaul came in a late-night move that threatens to split the 105-year-old ruling African National Congress and trigger a revolt against the president. The rand extended losses, heading for its worst week in more than a year.
Foreign exchange
The USD was bid due to good data in the US – GDP, Core PCE – and the USD is resuming the trend move higher. Next target for DXY is the 100d MA at 101.164.
The EUR continued its drop following the Reuters report from yesterday saying that ECB doesn’t want to send the wrong message about stimulus being removed too early and German inflation came in lower than expected at 0.2% MoM (Exp. 0.4%) and 1.6% YoY (Exp. 1.8%). We are still in the middle of the range but the break of 1.0700 was important. We don’t see any bounce coming until 1.0620.
USDJPY is breaking back the 111.75 resistance level and if we manage to close above, we will be back in the range of 112/115.
The GBP was the only currency rallying against the USD on short-term stops following the trigger of Article 50.
Emerging markets: USDZAR exploded higher after the firing of the finance minister reaching the 100d MA at 13.48.77. It’s very hard to say where this pair could go if the political turmoil continues. There is now a risk of downgrade by rating agencies.
Foreign exchange volatilities
The market still wants to sell USD gamma because the only thing coming in terms of data is the nonfarm payrolls and then it will be Easter holidays. I would guess that if the USD rally continues for one or two more days, the market will start chasing up the volatilities.
There is a large strike today in USDJPY at 111.50 for $1bn.
Rates
UST were under pressure through most of session, triggered by upwards GDP revisions and gains in oil which lifted inflation expectations; 5s30s steepened as much as 1.6 basis points on the session, the widest jump since the March Federal open Market Committee decision
Bunds futures rallied Thursday, boosted by soft German CPI prints
Commodities
Equities
US indices were up in the region of 0.3%, lifted by oil prices, which managed to close back above $50/b. US financials also lifted the index with strong performances overnight.
European markets finished mixed with strong gains on the Dax and CAC 40 as they rose more than 0.4%. The Dax is now 150 points or 1.2% away from its high in April 2016. The FTSE 100 closed flat and lost 0.06%.
Lululemon reported fourth-quarter and fiscal 2016 earnings and its $1 EPS came in below consensus expectations. Lululemon also forecast disappointing guidance related to a sluggish first quarter. It dropped $15.54 or or 23% to $50.76, its lowest level since early 2016.
ConocoPhillips soared 8.8% and closed at $50 after agreeing to sell a large portion of its Canadian assets to Cenovus Energy (CVE). ConocoPhillips broke its resistance trend line from December 2016 and we see upwards momentum continuing. CVE meanwhile closed 13.7% lower on the purchase.
