What do you think of the "she-ra is supposed to be the strongest warrior but always loses againts catra in they're fights" argument?
okay, i had to sit on this for a while since i'd never seen that claim before, especially in the context of being against catradora (which i won't really touch this time), but i do have some thoughts on it. just be warned that i may be going too far into my perception and might come across as outlandish because it's not directly supported by canon.
firstly, it should be noted that she-ra wasn't designed originally to be a soldier but to be a weapon, at least primarily. sure the fighting abilities were a bonus too, but i'd imagine she's supposed useful to defend the first ones from (what are perceived as) foreign threats on other planets, such as the boar mara attempted to fight until razz taught her how etherian magic works.
i say "attempted" because she was clearly losing if you go back and rewatch that scene... but i think there's more to that as well. similarly to how magic is explicitly horde prime's weakness, it seems to be implied that goes for the first ones too, regarding the resemblance in being an oppressive force that colonizes peaceful civilizations. she-ra's magic is not authentic until adora reclaims it for love, and therefore it is too weak against etheria's natural beings, as opposed to the countless mechs & tanks of the horde that end up effortlessly destroyed.
where am i going with this? well, there's a popular speculation among the fandom that magicats (catra's species), as specified in the name, have their own form of magical essence (highly suggest reading that btw, it's a great thread) that's more subtle than a princess who has a runestone that comes with powers and which ties deeply & much more directly with the spirit of etheria itself. that's part of why she was able to uniquely connect with melog, for example. therefore, when clashing with an artificial & otherworldly opponent on her own native territory, it makes sense that catra would come out on top.
secondly, if you're looking for a shorter/simpler answer, catra says it herself in 2x01:
she-ra is too strong to defeat with force alone; but she's slow, and easily manipulated.
i suppose it would go with the heightened senses feature that she would also adopt another feline characteristic of agility ─ something your average other person, humanoid or otherwise, wouldn't have.
now, what would happen if catra faced off adora's new she-ra form with their old dynamic? well that's up to fanon interpretation, but considering her movements are more animated and she fights more gracefully than she used to, i believe catra would be easier to keep up with, especially considering the cocky confidence upgrade included. if nothing else, i doubt both of them would be on equal ground up in space despite that not being an obstacle for she-ra at all!
anyone else who is either more creative than me or just has better ideas from the source, feel free to add on of course!

She-Ra: The Princesses of Power Headcanons.
Non-human Scripts
Being a conlanger and having a blooming interest in the story and lore of the SR-PoP series, I have come up with, at most, three writing systems for the Scorpioni (Scorpia's people), Magicats (Catra's People), and Draconids (Rogelio's People). Disclaimer, aside from the Scorpioni script, the other two are based on, hopefully, popular writing systems from other pieces of fiction. Other than that, I will talk about how these scripts work, some cultural head-canon of how each script can be utilized, and where I got the inspiration for each one. With all that said, let's begin.
Scorpioni
The way the Scorpioni script works is that a pincer-bearing individual cuts shapes along the edge of a thin flat surface. Like paper... or sheet metal (we all saw how powerful Scorpia's pinchers were when they cut through that guard rail). Due to the nature of this system, "books" or, more accurately, "scrolls" or, even more accurately, "reels" are the most common form of information keeping among Scorpioni peoples where entire works can be read continuously by unspooling the thin strips. Recently, Scorpioni have taken to laminating these sheets as to preserve the cut-out parts from wear and tear.
Reels are not the only form of medium for "writing" as during special occasions, holidays, weddings, introducing your new best friend(s) to the clan, and so on, will see the exchange of "paper stars." these beautiful fractal crafts are constructed by folding paper and cutting into the folded edge. When unfolded, that message becomes a pattern that varies depending on the types of folds used and the types of "flourishes" a writer implements while cutting. It is considered by many to be the Scorpioni equivalent to calligraphy.
I lied, lol. The basis for the Scorpioni script is based on Trent Pehrson's Krapi Script. However, the idea of a script being cut rather than written by dragging a trail on a medium, I feel, come from me. I might also implement this system for my Splatoon worldbuilding project for the crab people.
Magicat Script
The Magicat script is literally handwritten in that the writer will make swooping patterns with one or more of their claws (or fingers for regular humans). Historians say that this tradition started with the Magicats scratching marks into trees and, later, stone with their claws before transitioning to ink and paper.
Speaking of which, magicat scribes are known as "night-tracers" with how them constantly dipping their claws into ink have stained them and their fingers dark.
This script is inspired by the Hani and their writing system. Which I unashamedly took wholesale. I might modify it if I ever get the interest and drive to develop this and the others.
Draconid Script
I'm going to break structure here by saying that Draconid is literally the Dinotopian Footprint Alphabet. Perhaps the scaly lizard people originally wrote this script by stomping patterns into the soft ground and those patterns got adapted to being written by hand. Maybe there are some cuneiform-style logographs as well.
This is all that I have, for now. Feel free to use any of these head canons in your own works just forward them to me when you do.
Thank you for reading all of this. Take care and I'll see you next time... ;).

I would argue they would be too sharp for that
They could accidentally cut the loop of thread while pulling from it 🤔
Could a Magicat use their claws as crotchet hooks?

Made up a soup and it's GREAT
Navy beans (soaked, then cooked in instant pot until creamy), don't ask me how much lol I dunno, I think maybe a cup and a half dry? two cups? Anyway if you use canned, you should maybe cook them a little more before you do anything else because you want them so soft they're falling apart
Leeks, two (including the greens) sliced in half moons and aggressively rinsed (I put them in a bowl of water after cutting them up and basically scrubbed them between my hands, then poured into a colander to drain, and repeated a couple of times; seriously leek greens are dirty and you don't want the grit in your soup) Big blob of "Butter" (Earth Balance brand margarine) Smoked paprika (mix of hot and sweet)
Sauteed all of that together
Added:
A chonker of a celeriac (celery root), peeled and diced Four average-sized parsnips A bunch of dried thyme, dill, and parsley Some black pepper Some nooch (nutritional yeast, it's a source of umami) Better Than Bullion's "No Chicken Base" Enough water to almost cover everything
Brought to a boil, simmered for uhhhh twenty minutes? nearly half an hour? Definitely until everything was hella soft
Drained the cooked beans and dumped them in
Attacked it with my stick blender, tasted it for salt, then added more dried parsley because it looks nice
Drizzled it with fancy olive oil!!
Not a great photo but TRUST ME it's GOOD, holy SHIT
Anyway, will be good with lightly toasted bread dipped into it!!
#food#vegan cooking#bahaha side note: when I typed 'half moons' my brain went 'ehehe Halfmoon is where magicats are from' ffs#even my soup recipes make me think of The Blorbo

does anyone else find it kinda weird that SPOP just casually dropped in the fact that there’s a Prince who can see ANYWHERE in the world magically, aka the perfect spy, and Glimmer just… didn’t think of recruiting him?
Why wasn’t Peekablue already part of the Rebellion??? What is he using his powers for that’s soooo important? He could literally see all of the Horde’s plans and warn the Rebellion and give them a HUGE leg up on them, and he wasn’t even mentioned until S5.
I know he was a hermit almost never seen but are you telling me Glimmer wouldn’t even TRY to find him and convince him to join? That’s a mystery in itself; where IS Peekablue, and why does no one care? Is he literally missing? Because if he’s literally missing, maybe someone should help him.
#Spop#she ra#spop critical#peekablue was a plot device and nothing more— but a poorly conceived one#a glaringly obvious last-minute addition/excuse for them to add filler#and I’m //assuming// peekablue probably came up in the writers room sometime before S5 so they had time to work that in#I think they didn’t want to give the Rebellion such a big advantage but they were extremely lazy in their justification#For why they didn’t have Peekablue— ‘he’s a hermit he’s missing’ so fucking find him??#shouldn’t you be at least a little concerned if a magical prince vanishes?#at best he’s MIA at worst the Horde has him and is using him to spy on you. Which if that was a possibility— why not bring that up in S4?#that’s me giving them the benefit of the doubt. peekablue might not have come up in the writers room at all before the 5th season. 🤷🏻♀️#I mean Magicats didn’t and Catra was the main antagonist/love interest.#I think the SPOP writers— or maybe just ND— are just not very good at their jobs
