Kamio Japan Announces Keitai Tamagotchi Bath Bombs

The sequel to the first batch of bath bombs, Kamio Japan has just announced the Keitai Tamagotchi bath bombs. We recently saw these surface back in late May. These cake scented bath bombs are yellow and shaped after the Keitai Tamagotchi with the iconic antenna.

Inside each bath bomb is one of five characters, which are Memetchi, Violetchi, Ichigotchi, Young Mametchi, and Oyajitchi! Individually wrapped and ready for purchase nationwide in Japan for ¥660 at fancy shops.

Hello! I just wanted to share the shoujo titles I read this year, as it was a goal of mine to read more and cross some titles off my PTR. In fact, most of the manga I ended up reading this year was shoujo, so I'd say I achieved my goal and then some.

I ended up reading a lot of cool series this year that I've had my eye on for a while. As you can see, I read many titles by CLAMP this year, and I have another post on one of their series coming up too. Also, really sorry to hear about the passing of the author of Hana-Kimi, that series was a nice bright spot for me earlier this year so this really saddened me.

I may make another post about shoujo/josei series I plan on reading in 2024 to come back at the end of next year and see if I read them. But I also wanted to thank the people who read and supported my posts since I made this account in the spring. I kinda did it on a whim but I've had fun making posts and it's actually been nice to have my thoughts put together somewhere I can come back to and look over. Hope everyone has a nice end of the year!

The First Slam Dunk (A Spoiler-free Review)

As a fan of Slam Dunk and Inoue Takehiko's art, we're happy to finally see the Sannoh match animated and heck it was sooooo goooood! The animation is a mix of cel-shaded 3D (which was executed very well) and traditional 2D animation. The actual WOW factor is the level of attention to detail of the animation -- everything felt natural, even the emotions were animated so well! Story-wise, don't expect it to be EXACTLY like the manga. But is it good? Heck yes, it is! In fact, the additional (new) scenes gave more depth to the characters. It is mostly focused on action and drama, and the comical moments in the manga while toned down, were still there. Yes, Sakuragi's antics are still there m'dudes, haha! It felt close to watching a real basketball game which makes the toned down comic relief understandable because the art direction seemed to give the match a realistic feel into it. Add the players' interaction and movement on court, plus the gestures/signals in basketball being animated as well. Another awesome thing is the soundtrack. There's a music fit for every moment, and at the right moment. The new cast are also just as good as the original cast and gave justice to their characters and playing out their emotions. He may not have voiced Sakuragi in a loud and rowdy way as Takeshi Kusao did, there's still a charm in the way KimuSuba voiced our beloved problem child. Same thing with Kamio's dubbing for Kaede Rukawa. Shugo Nakamura (Ryota Miyagi) also gave one helluva performance in one scene

Overall, The First Slam Dunk felt both like a fresh new anime and a nostalgic one because the flashbacks provided in the film pretty much gives new viewers an idea on the characters and what they've been through. If there's one thing amiss from the manga, is that certain details weren't shown like those that involve Miyagi and Sakuragi. Do go see it once it hit your local theaters!

Starring January Aquarius Kamio Fuju and May Taurus Tokunaga Eri, I love Kamio Fuju he has such distinctive eyes

It is by far one of my favorite dramas. The story, leads, cinematography and music were great. How the story played out and the main characters were very relatable. The age gap is controversial, it involves an almost 30-year-old woman and a 15/16-year old boy, but I was satisfied with how it played out. Age gaps can be weird and uncomfortable. Abuse, isolation, manipulation are my main issues with it, but this had little of that if at all, especially coming from the female character. The male character was encouraging the relationship, and although there were issues he encountered, it didn't directly have anything to do with the female's actions. Overall, I was pleased with how the female lead took charge of her life, disallowing societal pressure, and family to dictate her path. She stopped putting others first and listening to the judgments of unimportant people.

The Kamio Tamagotchi collection continues to grow! Now they’ve added a new item that has just been released May 2024. These jacquard towels are super cute and available in four styles, Mametchi, Mimitchi, Kuchipatchi, and one with several characters. They all feature silhouettes of their respective character.

On the bottom right-hand corner there is one character fully in color that has been embroidered on. They’re available starting in May 2024 in the character merchandise section of fancy goods stores nationwide for ¥715.

may have spent the whole day in CCT basically.......... I finished google translating everything and then at the end of the playthrough I was going off of...youtuber Mecha Taco shows some of the single flitz mode which I assumed was just song selects but you get to play as ANY character in the game...I tried it and there’s five rounds where you play against another character and it’s super fun and cute and makes the game have WAYYY more playability to it.......there’s even these little babies in the background of one of the songs in the game and you can play as even them for example...if a character has ever had a dance animation they will be playable, and they will have a name...I’m losing my mind...

Tatsuya Endo's Character Commentary from the Official Spy x Family Fanbook English Translation Part 2:

Franky:

(Endo) The model for his character is Mozzie, who is next to the main character of the foreign drama "White Collar". The glasses are also exactly the same. He's a really good character who talks a lot of nonsense, but not a despicable one. It is rare to find a character with a model in "SPY x FAMILY".

This is Mozzie from White Collar, played by the actor Willie Garson.

The stripes on his socks are intended to make him look a little more fashionable, to give him a popular look.

He is well liked by the people from the underground. The tobacco shop is a sort of hideout for Franky, and if he's chased out of there, I think he's got another place and identity. His name "Franky" seems like not his real name too.

Sylvia Sherwood: 

(Endo) The cool big sister superior officer. Big sister...? Her design was inspired by the Paris Collection, or whatever fashion magazine I was looking at. Her glasses, curly hair, and the hat are all a bit too troublesome to draw...

She has the appearance of an independent woman, but in her private life, she is a very sloppy person. She lives in a very dirty room. I may draw that in an extra chapter soon. Her fighting ability is unknown, but it seems she's not that strong. 

Yuri Briar:

(Endo) His visual is exactly like Yor, a male version one. I thought about him having short hair, but it didn't feel right, so I decided to go with my current style. If he doesn't talk, I'm sure he'll be popular (with girls). I wonder if he's interested in anyone other than his sister? 

(Hayashi) I think he's interested in his job?

(Endo) Yuri is certainly a very hardworking and a serious person. He really wants to protect the peace of Ostania, and I think he truly believes that this is for the sake of his sister. After all, she is his sister. He doesn't seem to have any hobbies that involve spending money, and since his taste buds are spoiled, he doesn't seem to eat gourmet food either. 

He thinks Anya is a "despicable little brat". Compared to Franky, he's not used to children, so he competes with them in the same way.

Henry Henderson:

(Endo) Most of the characters are introduced only for a particular episode, but if I try to draw them and find them easy to move, I stick with them. I never thought that Henderson and Yor's boss, the shopkeeper, would play such an active role...

By the way, he's the only character who has a fanservice scene (the shower scene) in the work.

I liked the mismatched jersey he wore during the dodgeball round, so I'd like to have him do various cosplays as well. Like doing "Today's class is [redacted]", but I don't think there will be much demand for it.

Damian Desmond: 

(Endo) He's exactly like Domyoji from "花より団子 / Hana Yori Dango / Boys Over Flower" (by Yoko Kamio) (Laughs). In his first appearance, he was a jerk who boasted about his status, but he soon became a good boy. I wanted to make him a meaner character though.

(Hayashi) Because Ewin and his friend are good guys, I think he's getting better hanging around with them. They're really good guys who are always there for Damian and give him the attention that he needs. Damian should be thankful to the both of them.

(Endo) In the future, there may or may not be a dark episode of "After all, humans only want money and power...." (Laughs)

Becky Blackbell:

(Endo) Like Damian, she started out as a tsun-tsun (tsundere), but she soon became friendly.... And she was able to get along with Anya in just one episode. She's very easy going.

She thinks people her age are "brats" and doesn't have many friends other than Anya. I would like to make at least 1 more person to be her friend. Her personality and design are probably based on Marika-chan from "愛してるぜベイベ★★ / I love you baby ★★" (Yoko Maki). She's precocious and cute.

Fiona Frost: 

(Endo) I really like "Nightfall's" design including her coat. The image color is "blue" in contrast to Yor. In terms of standing position, her character is to stir up the romance part of the story. I thought of it as a way to add variety to the story.

(Hayashi) There was quite a bit of talk about putting out a character on WISE's side as a friend during Twilight's meeting. I thought it would be nice to have at least one colleague for Twilight.

(Endo) The name "Nightfall"  means to "follow around after Twilight (evening)". Emile and Ewin start with "E" because they're following Damian "D". I know people might think that the names of the other characters also have meanings to them, but I actually just added them on a whin (Laughs)

Donovan Desmond: (I can't add his pic anymore)

(Endo) Since he's the last boss, I'm careful not to make him look like a dull character. With a face like this, I'm sure that Damian looks like his mother (Laughs)

He was a member of the ruling party during the war, but now he's a member of the opposition party, so I have an image of him hiding in the background.

(Hayashi) He's a character with a lot of secrets, but the goal is to get into his heart, so please pay attention to him in the future!

The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window by Yamashita Tomoko: I never cried so much until I read this manga. like, i was honestly on the FLOOR reading this!! starts off nice and simple before evolving into this giant mess of a thing that shatters your heart. has a cult in it and handles the trauma around it fairly well ( or at least i think so ). the whole topic of trauma is just beautifully written, had me shaking towards the end. i'm still shaking and i finished reading it last week.

Shutline by Kyo Woo, NSFW: now hear me out,,,,, this webcomic??? TOP TIER!!! BABY!!! it's about a gang leader who meets a mechanic and y'all,,,,, this shit has me losing my marbles everytime i read it. shit is wild LIKE TRULY.

Cat Street by Kamio Yoko: written by the woman who made hana yori dango ( boys over flower ) and i promise you!! this is actually good!! LIKE REALLY GOOD!!! deals with a teenager who exiles herself from the entire world after an embarrassing moment that happened as a child. a story about finding yourself, meeting new people, and falling in love with a childhood passion. def my comfort manga.

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-Kun by Aida Iro: i saw a lot of people reading it on youtube and honestly,,, i should've minded my fucking business!! because this damn manga is so sad, like, my heart was breaking while reading it. one of those stories that starts off really cute and sweet before unfolding into this massive plot that has you screaming every chapter.

The Taming of the Shrew by Biai: yes, like Shakespeare's TOTS, follows the same plot but also has its differences. actually really good and Kat is a swordswoman <3 and Petruchio is a major simp. please read it because i loved it so much

As You Wish, Prince by Mokgamgi: TOP TIER!! BEAUTIFUL!!! IN LOVE!!! a writer is kidnapped by the villain of her series because he's upset of how she's written him and made him into this total failure and laughing stock of the kingdom. turns out that he's actually a good guy!! and her heroes??? TOTAL TRASH!! it's completed too so no need to worry about a next update

Red Candy by Hanse, NSFW: idk what's with me and undercover stories,,,, but i love it. a spy who has to pretend to be his target's boyfriend. really good and there's like so many levels to it. corrupt spy organization, major daddy issues, has me on the floor sobbing. i'm just a softie.

Yubisaki to Renren by Suu Moorishita: MY GOD!!! BEAUTIFUL ART!!! BEAUTIFUL WRITING!!! the MC is a hearing-impaired woman and it's genuinely written properly. like the author worked hard to make this very accurate to the community and is careful in capturing JSL ( japanese sign language ). like yes the romance but also!! THE REPRESENATION IN THIS!!! PLEASE READ IT!!!

Tiger, Tiger by Petra Erika Nordlund, NSFW: someone actually recommended this to me and i read it in one sitting. the art style is top tier, in LOVE with the MC and her future husband. the storytelling and world building has me H O O K E D!! please give it a read and make sure to support the author.

Nozu: Bumping into Shirai’s fan, Shirai saying “お姉さん、内緒だからねー!”（Onee-san, this is a secret) in Ramuda’s exact tone even when we were caught surprised; I thought it was very awesome of him. 

Shirai: We finally decided to go to Shibuya for a group photo, because at that point Yokohama division went first, then Ikebukuro, then Shinjuku; how could Fling Posse miss out too?! 

So we went late at night (the only time our schedules matched), and we were struggling with the selfie stick when the shutter to a shop right beside us opened; and there was a lady who went: “Ah, isn’t that Shiarimu?” 

We were not acquainted, so I said “Shh, please don’t be too loud”, and she understood.

AsaShin: But Nozu isn’t even a Shinjuku division member, he’s Shibuya’s! (Nozu/Dice status as stray cat cemented) 

Hayami: Actually, (affectionately) that brat frequently visits my place to hang out. 

Everyone: Still “That brat!” (laughing, clapping) 

MC: How much did “that brat” drink? 

Hayami: He would drink almost unceasingly. Usually he starts drinking from the most expensive ones too. 

(Shirai laughing manically at his own division member, being such a responsible leader) 

MC: So his true goal is the alcohol! Won’t you get mad at him? 

Hayami: (breezy tone) No. (epiphany) Why is that so do you think? I actually like that part of Nozu. Weirdly, I’m the type of person who if we all go out for a meal together and you order the most expensive thing when I offer to pay; it makes me happy. 

MC: If you say it like that, then why don’t we all just ask Hayami out for a meal? 

(everyone laughing wildly)

AsaShin: Let’s strive to match up our schedules! 

Subaru: Let’s! Let’s! 

AsaShin, Subaru: (imitating clingy ladies) Hayami-san, let’s go out to eat together ~ 

Hayami: Eh? Okonomiyaki? (counted as cheap, filling, and easy) 

MC: You accepted that too quickly! 

AsaShin: Even if it’s okonomiyaki, I’d be so happy!

Komada: Ate a tarantula and cried. 

AsaShin: (explains Rio’s eccentric cooking, and how Kamio actually ate insect cuisines before) 

So Kamio is fine with eating insects. I was very interested in what they tasted like. So us three went to a shop in Tokyo which served them. 

We found a shop, and they didn’t serve the tarantulas hidden as slices in food or anything; it was whole and standing up, looking like they may have started moving at any time. They were quite large too. 

But Komada-kun is exactly like his character Jyuto; he really cannot bring himself to eat it. 

Subaru: Ah he’s scared of bugs. 

AsaShin: I ate the leg, but the body…  (shakes, wildly gestures) The texture of it was completely different from what I was expecting. 

Hayami: (makes a pun on Kamio being able to eat spiders and being able to weather hardship) 

AsaShin: That was well said! 

MC: Now YOU have to treat him to a meal. 

AsaShin: After much urging, Koma-chan slowly nibbled at the spider leg at the edge of his lips; and cried while eating it. 

Everyone: (sympathetic but struggling not to laugh) 

MC: How was the body of the tarantula anyway? 

AsaShin: It felt kinda… elastic and bouncy. 

MC: Oh so it’s like the texture of prawn? 

AsaShin: Yes but, once you bite down your teeth sink in completely and it fills your mouth. 

Subaru: (shocked) So it doesn’t…the meat doesn’t keep its shape? 

AsaShin: Exactly. 

Everyone: (grossed out) 

MC: So who ate it all in the end? 

AsaShin: Even though I couldn’t eat more after a single bite, Kamio-san was enjoying  it quickly and simply, saying “Mm, this tastes like prawn.” 

Subaru: So strong! 

AsaShin: I thought to myself, “This person probably hasn’t eaten prawn before”. 

Everyone: (laughs) 

Subaru: (asking MCs) Have you eaten this before? 

MC: Not even comedians are made to eat tarantulas! 

AsaShin: The shop we went to wasn’t an insect cuisine speciality shop; it just served insects normally beside other dishes. 

Subaru: Did you eat anything else? 

AsaShin: I downed fried rice like my life depended on it to his my mouth of the tarantula taste. 

Subaru: Hmm, I’m actually a bit interested now. 

Shirai: I wanna try too! 

Subaru: Hayami-san! Would you mind treating us to some tarantulas? 

Hayami: (enthusiastically) Let’s go! 

MC: You went all the way to have someone treat you, but you’re going for tarantulas?! Hayami-san are you okay with eating tarantulas? 

Hayami: Well among the four of us (former TDD) we should be fine; since one of us is a spider. (pun: ‘Spider’ which sounds like ’Spy だ’, a reference to Ramuda’s role) 

Subaru: Hayami-san is in top form today!

Haruki: ‘Bukuro 3 Bros Cypher Incident 

Subaru: (detailed how Haruki and Amasaki wanted to brush up on rap skills, so they practiced together; and how they went out for meals and drinks one night in IKB) 

There was a Cypher event in a park, which is when some rappers take turns free styling. We thought “Oh this is a good chance to do some rap training”, so we participated with full motivation. 

Haruki and Amasaki were completely pumped up from the food and alcohol, and they loudly shouted things like “Who the hell do you think you are, you bastard?” and “Come and get us if you dare!” at these experienced rappers. 

People around us must’ve been thinking “Where did these three clowns even come from?” 

MC: Did you all participate for very long? 

Subaru: About an hour. 

MC: Eh?! And the result in the end? 

Subaru: (laughs) We lost terribly! But we were so into it, we kept free styling even when the event was over until our rides picked us up. 

AsaShin: Even if they drank, most people won’t just bravely jump in! 

Everyone: No, no, they wouldn’t. It’s amazing. 

Subaru: (proud bro) That time, we became seriously into it and gave it our all.

Kuroda: I said “Lame” 

Iwasaki: (explain how the first time they saw DH’s logo, Kuroda very calmly said “lame”) 

(jumps up, sasashook) He said “lame” so casually! At the time we weren’t closely acquainted, so I just stood meekly by and agreed in a vague tone, “Ah, really. I see.” 

Since DH’s logo is different from the other divisions who have their own distinctly fierce style, it was odd for us at first. But now Kuroda-san is completely into it; he’d check our outfits and even worry about how the sleeve length may be appropriate or not for the performance! 

AsaShin: At first glance, DH’s outfits look a lot like the manzai group Cowcow’s. 

Hayama: Their vibe is very alike when they perform. 

Iwasaki: True, true. When we first appeared on stage, we did have their aura. (epiphany) But doesn’t this mean that instead of raising our own DH’s reputation, we raised Cowcow’s instead?! 

Everyone: (laughing)

Yuki: A lost child is saved by Buddha-like saints 

Yuki: (explained how he forgot his wallet and his transportation pass was empty as well as his stomach last winter after an event; and how Hayama and Eiji bought him a delicious meal, then paid for his fare home without hesitation.)  

Everyone: (laughing loudly) 

Yuki: (in another incident, I was supposed to meet up with BAT but got lost; and Hayama and Eiji guided me in the right direction. I’d like to highlight and give a shout out their Buddha-like behaviour this year.) 

Hayma: (being courteous about praise, but also elucidating on things Yuki forgets frequently; his wallet, his transportation pass, his house keys, etc.) He’s even more flustered than I am usually. 

Iwasaki: (sasashook) 

AsaShin: You can’t leave him alone. 

Hayama: It’s not that we can’t; but it’s more like if we leave him alone something worse will happen! He’d definitely be dragged into a more dangerous incident if we do. 

So Eiji and I discussed it (the getting lost incident) in LINE and kept texting ‘where are you’ to him while searching up and down Shinjuku for him. 

MC: It’s amazing he got lost to such a degree! (Mr. MC pls don’t forget AsaShin is also a person who chronically gets lost) You pay for him too, that’s so kind of you.  

Hayama: “Use this to get home”, then he’d pay us back; about three months later. 

MC… three months is way too long! 

Hayama: (laughs) About the time Eiji and I forgot it even happened, he’d pay us back. 

Subaru: (making observation) Hayami-san, you’re very indulgent to Nozu right? It’s gone past paying for his fare, you practically let him live at your place! Your relationship is almost like master and disciple at this point.  

Hayami: Actually, we participated in M-1 (manzai competition) together for the past two years.  

Everyone: (shocked) 

Subaru: (excitedly) That’s right! (x3) 

Hayami: (proudly laughing) We even got into the second round! 

MC: Doesn’t that mean you’re very good?! 

Hayami: (explains that he and Nozu write the skits together, Nozu plays the tsukkomi [straight man], while Hayami plays the boke [fool]) 

Everyone: We have to watch you two perform some time.
