we aren't focusing too much on game mechanics, and a lot of them use the same weapons as their beta counterparts. but here's my ideas:

Yan!Kanaya x Reader Headcannons A-M

A: Affection - How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get? Kanaya would be very affectionate, and would tend to hug you, kiss you, hold your hand and be generally very loving towards you. Now, as a Rainbow Drinker, she would do all of that, but with something additional. She loves to mark you, lightly biting you and drinking that delicious, delicious blood.

B: Blood - How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling? Kanaya is willing to get pretty damn messy, after all that Makeupkind specibus isn't just for show. If anyone tries to take you from her, they... won't be seen again. But their bisected body... let's just say that it's helping to grow the plants in her hive.

C: Cruelty - How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them? Kanaya would treat you as well as she could. You're precious to her, why would she ever mock you? You deserve the best a Jade can give, and she'll give you exactly that.

D: Darling - Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling's will? Kanaya would, as a rainbow drinker, tend to feed on you blood from time to time. She doesn't mean to hurt you (even though she sometimes does), she just loves you so much! Just Please Please Stop Crying You Have No Idea How Much Its Hurting Her.

E: Exposed - How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling? Kanaya will tell you about everything. Her toxic moirailiagance with Vriska, her numerous ashen relationships with Vriska, Eridan and others, and even her being a rainbow drinker. The only things she wouldn't tell you about... is all the bodies she will and has piled up for you.

F: Fight - How would they feel if their darling fought back? Kanaya would be heartbroken. She wouldn't hurt you, but she would instead leave you alone for a couple days. She can't bring herself to hurt you, the most she can bring herself to do is just lock you in a room. Don't assume that means that it won't make up any less severe of a punishment, you won't get any food, water, be able to get a good sleep or get any interactions for as long as it lasts. But don't worry, she'll be back for you soon! <3

G: Game - Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape? To Kanaya, she would heavily dislike watching you try to escape, in no small part to the fact that her hive is smack-dab in the middle of a desert, that there are literal undead and that any escape attempt can result in your serious injury, or your death. If you escape, she'll just get madder, and mad for two reasons. The fact that you even tried to escape in the first place, and that you could have seriously endangered yourself.

H: Hell - What would be their darling’s worst experience with them? Kanaya would, if she felt the situation called for it, bring her Makeupkind specibus very, very close to you, and, swear to Jegus, she wouldn't hurt you, but you would definitely think she would. sorry i only did a-h, i had a lot of stuff going on and wanted to give something rather than nothing. i'll do a part 2 soon. i think moving forward, i'll limit alphabet hcs to 5 at a time max :/

Hey just outa curiosity, i have two gem ocs that have fused but i cant think of a good fusion weapon because their main weapons are either

A litteral chainsaw + brass knuckles

Or

A GOD DAMN GUN + a baseball bat

Yeah no problem!! The first thing I'd mention is that some fusion gems don't actually fight with fused weapons, they just use their components' weapons- often dual wielding or favouring one over the other. If none of these suggestions really strike your fancy, mayhaps a fused weapon just wasn't meant to be ??

But with that outta the way, here's the fun bit:

Brass knuckles + chainsaw = chakram (this is a throwing weapon when -at least traditionally- neither of the component weapons are meant to be thrown, but visually I think it fits), spiked brass knuckles?

The GODDAMN GUN + baseball bat = bazooka.

(Ok ok one last thing. A lot of the ppl who worked on Steven Universe took some inspo from Homestuck, some even working on the comic itself- I'm kind of imagining what if those brass knuckles turn into a chainsaw, like how Kanaya's 'makeupkind' weapon works? It's not really how SU-style fusion weapons work, but... it would be such a funny reference cjJHDSJK)

ive been reading a lot of classpect blogs (18 fucking hour road trip through the midwest what else is there to do) and it seems that aspects have duality further than their core ideas. the most ive noticed is between space and time!

beyond creation and erosion, space players tend to have an inclination towards physical/visual forms of art (jade liking gardening, kanaya being makeupkind, porrim having tattoos, and all of them liking fashion) and time players lean towards more verbal and auditory arts (dave is obviously a rapper/dj, engages in rap battles with tavros and equius, sends the icp music video to gamzee, and his chumhandle is turntechGodhead. dave and aradia also both have music themed planets, and their sessions are scratched with the use of a vinyl record and a music box respectively. this is a stretch but damara speaks japanese? which language can be interpereted as art but all she does is say gross shit so).

on top of that, space and time are also related to nuclear and thermal energy. jade has an abundance of uranium, bec is named after the unit of measurement used for radiation decay, becquerel, and her planet is covered in frost, which can be the result of a nuclear fallout. calliope's chumhandle is also uranianUmbra, uranus being the planet thqt uranium is name after. on the other hand, dave lives in texas, which in the middle of summer can get hot as hell. his entry item is an egg that needed to be hatched to get in to the medium, and his land is the land of *heat* and clockwork. this is another stretch, but dead wood and foliage is often used as fuel for fires, and aradia is The Dead Troll.

another contrasting theme between the two aspects is green and red. every space player we've seen is associated with a shade of green, and the same goes for time players and red. the colors are also related to the energy source theme, with fire red and uranium green, and the concept of green being for creation and red being for destruction or danger.

its clear that some players dont fit into the archetypes of aspects as some other players, but thats ok! characters shouldnt fit perfectly! thats what makes them interesting. i doubt homestuck would have gotten as far as it has if every space player was a bubbly quirky plant lover, or if every time player was an angsty trauma-ridden coolguy who likes rapping. and, at the end of the day, homestuck is about overcoming the game of SBURB and the obstacles it places in the way of players.

Been thinking about strife specibi and how they work in the homestuck universe.. ! Here are some specibus thoughts in a random order

There are more general strife specibi like Bladekind as opposed to Knifekind or something, but my thoughts are that the more specific your specibus is the more skilled you are at fighting with it, but a strife specibus like Kanaya’s (Makeupkind!!) would also be useful because any weapon could be disguised as makeup in Homestuck.. !!

Strife Specibi are a world detail that’s outside of Sburb/The Game (or are they? we’ll get into that later.) which means having a signature weapon is (probably) the norm on Homestuck’s Earth!

There’s so much freedom when choosing a specific kind abstratus but there’s still a pre-made list of all of the options, you have to choose one instead of just typing your weapon in.

All of the beings that are capable of even having a sylladex to store their strife deck in were predestined to play The Game or they’re actual constructs of The Game (like imps)!!! The Game needs Captchalogue cards to actually be played, the world already has to be video-game-y to be destroyed by a video game!!

Can I have some information about the maid of doom? Like the weapons. My interests as such are plauge doctors, and cryptids.

Of course! Character weapons seem to be most influenced by the theme of the character themselves, rather than purely classpect based (like Jade fighting with a gun because it’s what her grandfather used or Tavros charging into battle with a lance like a bull). 

However, some classpect influence can be seen with characters like John (Thor’s hammer = Breath) and Dave (Sword = Knight).

If this is a weapon for a character based on yourself, I would first focus on what weapons the character would have available in their environment. Does a family member carry a gun? Is there a fireplace with fire pokers? 

Next, I would look at what weapon in that environment the character would be  drawn to. Say they had a predilection for baking. They would likely choose a spoon over a sword. When do they first allocate a weapon to their strife specibus? If they are swamped by imps they may choose the first weapon at hand. What would the closest weapon be in that environment, if that were the case?

After these questions are answered you can look at possible weapons from a  Maid of Doom standpoint. Going back to the spoon versus sword scenario, what weapon a character chooses out of their available options can then be influenced by their classpect. 

Maids seem to use weapons strongly influenced by their aspect. Jane fights with utensils, a symbol of life (food). Aradia has a quick whip reminiscent of Indiana Jones (speed & archaeology = time). Porrim likely uses makeupkind (beauty = space). 

On the other hand, Doom players have never been shown to use a strife specibus. The closest we have seen is Sollux picking up ninja stars.

Given this information, you might look at Doom-centric weapons that are intangible/thrown. Perhaps some sort of poison bomb/noxious substance? A spray that causes illness?

For plague doctors a sickness bomb may fit the bill (Bombkind). As for cryptids, there are so many it would depend on the type. The Abominable Snowman could be snowballs that rot flesh on impact (Ballkind). Mothman could be thrown feathers that give your enemies overwhelming apocalyptic visions (Otherkind?). 

I doubt that a Sburb player could easily get their hands on a bomb when first allocating their specibus, but perhaps your Maid of Doom could start out with stink bombs? Or syringes?
