Honeyz - Harmony
Harmony is the unreleased sophomore album of the British r&b girl group Honeyz. The album was slated to be released in 2001 but was cancelled by Mercury Records. The group released two singles, first of being “Not Even Gonna Trip”, that was included in the UK version of soundtrack album of Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, and secondly “I Don’t Know”. Both songs only peaked top 30 in the UK, while a third single was supposed to be released in late 2001 called “Talk To The Hand” but was cancelled. The album was recorded in 2000-2001, where majority of the tracks were recorded by the group’s second line-up: Celena, Mariama, & Naima. However Mariama left the group in the middle of the recording the album, and her departure saw the return of the group’s founding member Heavenli Abdi to finish where the group left off.

Quote
Not speaking and speaking are both human ways of being in the world, and there are kinds and grades of each. There is the dumb silence of slumber or apathy; the sober silence that goes with a solemn animal face; the fertile silence of awareness, pasturing the soul, whence emerge new thoughts; the alive silence of alert perception, ready to say, “This… this…”; the musical silence that accompanies absorbed activity; the silence of listening to another speak, catching the drift and helping him be clear; the noisy silence of resentment and self-recrimination, loud and subvocal speech but sullen to say it; baffled silence; the silence of peaceful accord with other persons or communion with the cosmos.—Paul Goodman

4 Sadly Overlooked Girlband Classics
1. Solid HarmoniE - "I Want You To Want Me"
Mariama may now be happily serving as a redundant member of a reunited girl group she was in for about two seconds in 1998, but her beginnings in Solid HarmoniE (SHE, do you get it?) produced at least two amazing Max Martin-y singles. This is my personal favorite.
Chart Peak: #16 (UK)
2. Fierce - "Dayz Like That"
The early 2000's were ripe with girlbands, especially British ones. Alas, there are only so many available slots in the Top 10, so after three releases poor Fierce were unceremoniously dropped in favor of such legends as Atomic Kitten and Girl Thing.
Chart Peak: #11 (UK)
3. All Saints 1.9.7.5. - "Silver Shadow"
Not many people know that All Saints began as All Saints 1.9.7.5., and with a different lineup to boot. Long before the Appleton sisters joined as dead weight and Shaznay Lewis took over on the songwriting, the recently deceased Simone Rainford took on lead singing duties on their cover of "Silver Shadow". Enjoy.
Chart Peak: Failed to chart.
4. The Supremes - "Stoned Love"
It's amazing how many people don't know that The Supremes continued on without Diana Ross. Eventually, the constant line-up changes would come to overshadow the music. But as the first post-Diana member, new lead singer Jean Terrell kept the group in the Top 10, if only for a little while, with one of the group's all-time best singles. It's a shame not many people remember.
Chart Peak: #7 (USA)
