En Vacances avec Jeannie L

de Bordeaux à La Réole (33) 2023 — projet mené avec l amicale, en collaboration avec Maddalena Pornaro · animation d'ateliers · voyage à vélo pendant 3 jours · conception et réalisation d'une installation · exposition collective — Une résidence d’artistes itinérante, portée par Bruit du frigo. Pour cette résidence particulière, nous étions invitées en tant qu'artistes aux côtés de Marianne Vieulés et Camille Téqui. C'est un groupe composé de membres venant d'horizons différents : mineurs isolés, jeunes adultes neuro-atypiques, leurs éducateur·ices et des artistes. Nous nous sommes rencontré·es d'abord autour d'ateliers, pour faire connaissance, préparer l'expédition à vélo de l'été et partager des pratiques artistiques. Puis, est venu le temps du voyage et de l'aventure collective, pendant 3 jours, nous avons pédalé depuis la Fabrique Pola, à Bordeaux, jusqu'à La Réole. A travers ce voyage, nous nous sommes dépassé·es, nous nous sommes encouragé·es les un·es les autres, nous avons transpirer, dormi, manger, discuter, rigoler, chanter, ensemble. Suite à cette aventure, nous avons préparé une exposition collective, proposant des installations inédites, racontant ou s'inspirant du voyage vécu. Notre installation Vélorama raconte une aventure à vélo d’une équipe éclectique de voyageurs et voyageuses. Le public est invité à y entrer pour plonger au cœur de l’aventure. Une collection d’illustrations raconte les paysages traversés, des objets amenés ou trouvés, des rencontres inattendues… quelques souvenirs de voyage, capturés et partagés au retour des vacances. Le drapeau présenté, n’est pas celui d’un pays, d’un territoire ni celui d’une équipe de foot. C’est celui d’une équipe spéciale, d’un groupe de voyageurs et voyageuses qui ne se connaissaient pas, avant de vivre une aventure collective. Composé d’éléments disparates, d’objets insolites, rassurants, symboliques, liés à des superstitions personnelles, utiles ou non ; il parle d’un peu de chacun.e d’entre nous. Fixé à l’un des vélos du peloton, cet objet flottant représentant notre groupe, nous a accompagnés tout au long du périple. C’est comme si le drapeau, donnant du courage à tout le monde, avait porté le groupe jusqu’au bout. The figure was originally created by Kevin Williamson, and is primarily mute in person but voiced over the phone by Roger L. Jackson, regardless of who is behind the mask. Ghostface first appeared in Scream (1996) as a disguise used by teenagers Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) and Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard), during their killing spree in the fictional town of Woodsboro. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare (1994)

This was a really cool idea. Take a movie monster, and bring him out into the real world. Everyone in this movie plays themselves. Freddy comes out of the movies and terrorizes the people involved in them. The original star is back, with a husband and son. Everyone still dies and it’s still scary. This movie is supposed to portray Freddy how Wes Craven originally wanted - as a menacing monster with no funny quips. This is also the third Nightmare movie that has Craven’s involvement.... Even though he created it. This one recreates scenes from the past movies in real life. It’s long and tedious, but actually pretty frightening.

Rating: C. I read that Wes Craven wanted Johnny Depp to come back for this but was too afraid to ask, and later Johnny said he would have loved to. That’s a major disappointment. This would have been great with him in it.

Anne Sexton è morta 45 anni fa, e come tutti i poeti amava gli amori impossibili, quelli incarnati all’incarnato del cielo. Questa storia, appunto, comincia dalla fine, dalla morte. La morte, per un poeta, coincide con l’ultimo libro. The Awful Rowing Toward God. Il libro uscì nel 1975, postumo. L’aveva scritto in due settimane e un tot, due anni prima. Durante la gita in un ospedale psichiatrico, la Sexton incontra un prete cattolico. Dice che non vuole andare in Chiesa. “Non so pregare, io. Vorrei che Lui fosse il mio Dio. Ma non voglio saperne di Lui. Lo voglio inventare”. Il prete la prende in simpatia, legge le poesie, dice quella frase che si ripete ritualmente tra i fan della Sexton: “La tua macchia da scrivere è il tuo altare”.

La storia comincia dalla dedica a quell’ultimo libro. For Brother Dennis, wherever he is. Chi è frate Dennis, che fine ha fatto? In questa storia ci sono due dati da dire. L’amore come consegna ferina all’impossibile. E la lingua, il linguaggio, come scandaglio dell’impossibile, la millimetrica faina che perimetra ciò che non ha parola, il muto che abbacina.

La storia la racconta, con una certa verve, Nick Ripatrazone sull’ultimo numero di “Literary Hub”. Titolo: The Poet and the Monk: An Anne Sexton Love Story. Più che una specie di Uccelli di rovo del patetico poetico, però, qui siamo nel gorgo di una vicenda dal clangore medioevale. Dentro un poeta, in effetti, c’è sempre qualcuno che vuole rovinare le sacre verità, che vuole, con miele verbale, rompere i patti.

Nel 1961 la poetessa ha pubblicato To Bedlam and Party Way Back. Le arriva una lettera. La colpisce, tra le tante. L’ha scritta un monaco. “Non so molto della vita di un monaco, mi piacerebbe”. La Sexton non crede in Dio come chi lo desidera ardentemente. Parla al monaco di Romano Guardini. Ritaglia una citazione. La userà per All My Pretty Horses (1962).

L’epistolario sale d’intensità quando il monaco invia alla poetessa una sua fotografia. Lei non gliel’ha chiesta. “Ora che ti vedo, mi pare che tu sia un matador più che un monaco”. Poi, febbraio 1962, “sei terribilmente bello per essere un monaco, hai degli occhi incredibili”. La bellezza, però, è nella distanza irreparabile, nel fatto di flirtare con Dio attraverso il monaco, di vincerlo. Sedurre Dio. Costringerlo a preferire ancora la carne per unirsi a una donna.

Del monaco non si sa nulla. “Non ne conosciamo il nome. La figlia della Sexton, collezionando le sue lettere, lo chiama con lo pseudonimo di Padre Dennis Farrell. Era giovane. Insegnava. Si era innamorato?”. In una lettera, il monaco invia alla poetessa un crocefisso. Lei lo indossa. Gli scrive. “Quando me lo metto al collo, sono presa da un senso di umiltà, di certezza”. E poi. “Ho bisogno di te in un modo che non so spiegare. Ho bisogno del tuo amore, per ciò che di esso vi è di vero, gentile, compassionevole”.

La Sexton vede in questo rapporto, dispari – non vogliamo chi ci è eguale, chi ci rispecchia, ma chi ci si offre a contrasto – una risorsa estetica: “Le tue lettere influiscono nel mio stile, non puoi immaginare quanto” (17 maggio 1962). E alcune settimane dopo: “Le tue lettere mi donano molte cose… l’aura di te stesso, di Dio, di una vita differente, di una amicizia costante. Ti amo. So che mi ami. Ma ti perderò. Perché continuo a perdere ciò che amo…”. Gli invia una poesia, For Eleanor Boylan Talking With God. In un distico vede Dio “enorme, che copre il cielo/ come una gigantesca medusa che si dilata”.

La Sexton agisce come una serpe nella vita del monaco, a poco a poco lo svela, ne perfora le liminali resistenze. “Improvvisamente, avverto una relazione umana di cui ho spesso sognato, ma che pensavo impossibile”, le scrive lui. Già nel 1963, dopo due anni di scambi epistolari, annuncia di voler “saltare oltre il muro”, e di lasciare il monastero. La Sexton è terrorizzata. “Le nostre lettere… non possono essere paragonate a una relazione. In una lettera – non importa se è stata scritta di getto, onestamente, liberamente o amorevolmente – è possibile essere più amabili che nella vita reale, non ci sono muri né oggetti né persone in una lettera, le parole volano dal cuore, attraverso le dita… In qualche modo credo di averti ingannato se ti ho fatto credere che questa fosse una relazione”. La poetessa non vuole il monaco: se il monaco non sarà più monaco lei non raggiungerà più Dio. Continua. “Se lasciassi il monastero e ti sposassi, nessuna moglie ti consentirebbe di scrivermi”. Di certo non è lei, Anne, a volerlo sposare. Infine cita le lettere a Milena di Kafka, che vanno sempre bene.

Questo ignoto monaco fa ciò che ha promesso. Lascia il monastero. Agosto 1963. Per anni, più nulla. Il 10 dicembre del 1966, ritorna. Lei è arrabbiata. “Non dovevi lasciarmi in questo silenzio”. Lui le dice di essere stato a Chicago, dove lei aveva una lettura pubblica. “Avremmo potuto vederci, potremmo parlare, ma non so dove sei”, fa lei. “Forse si sono incontrati a Chicago. Forse lui le ha stretto la mano, anche solo per un istante. Forse non diciamo mai la verità nelle nostre lettere, nei pensieri”, scrive, con sfoggio d’enfasi, il giornalista. Infine, il poeta ha vinto sulla fede, si ha fede nel poeta più che nella divinità. Del monaco ora ex non sappiamo più niente – e lei non vuole saperne: se sei così debole da rifiutare Dio, cosa vuoi da me?

Per Le Lettere è uscita una nuova edizione delle Poesie d’amore di Anne Sexton, pubblicata in origine 50 anni fa, per la cura di Rosaria Lo Russo. Lo stesso editore ha pubblicato nel 2003 le Poesie su Dio. I documenti di Anne Sexton sono catalogati presso l’Harry Ransom Center dell’University of Texas a Austin. Sono raccolte più di 800 lettere, a Saul Bellow, Elizabeth Bishop, Ted Hughes, Marianne Moore, Joyce Carol Oates, Sylvia Plath e John Updike, tra gli altri. In addition to releasing music from the latest Scream, Varèse Sarabande will also be celebrating Marco Beltrami’s masterful scores from the first four films with Scream: Original Motion Picture Soundtracks. A 4-LP edition—pressed on blood-red vinyl with black smoke swirls—dedicates a full album to each film and includes two hours of unreleased material.
