In today’s world, the illusion of democracy and free will is carefully maintained, but the truth is far from what we are led to believe. Power is not evenly distributed—it is hoarded by a select few who dictate the course of history while the majority remain unaware.

The 1%: The Masters of Control

At the very top of the pyramid sit the true rulers of the world—the 1%. These individuals are not merely wealthy; they are the architects of the global system. They own the central banks, control multinational corporations, manipulate governments, and influence the flow of information. Their wealth isn't just measured in money but in the power to shape ideologies, economies, and even conflicts.

They ensure their position remains unchallenged by controlling what people see, hear, and believe. Mainstream media, education systems, entertainment these are not neutral institutions but tools of control, designed to maintain a society that serves their interests.

The 4%: The Puppets of the Elite

Below the 1% are the 4%—the politicians, CEOs, media moguls, and so-called "leaders" who act as their enforcers. These individuals may seem powerful to the average person, but they are mere puppets, serving the agenda of their masters. They are rewarded with wealth and status in exchange for their loyalty, ensuring that the system remains intact.

These are the people who push narratives, sign treaties, start wars, and implement policies that benefit the elite while harming the general public. They give speeches about democracy and freedom while behind closed doors, they conspire to restrict liberties and consolidate power.

The 90%: The Asleep Majority

The vast majority—90%—live in a state of ignorance, not necessarily by choice, but by design. From birth, they are conditioned to accept the system as it is, to believe that they are free while unknowingly being part of a controlled society. Their energy is spent working for wages that barely cover the cost of living, consuming media that numbs critical thinking, and engaging in distractions that keep them too busy to question anything.

This group includes hardworking people who simply want to live their lives, but because they are unaware of the true structure of power, they unknowingly participate in maintaining it. The system depends on their compliance and indifference.

The 5%: The Awake and Aware

Then there are the 5%—those who see through the deception and understand the true nature of power. These individuals do not blindly trust the media, do not fall for political theatre, and refuse to be manipulated by fear. They are the thinkers, the dissenters, the whistleblowers, the independent journalists, and the free thinkers who challenge the status quo.

The 1% fear this group because if they succeed in waking up the 90%, the entire system collapses. This is why censorship is rampant, dissenting voices are silenced, and those who question too much are labeled as "conspiracy theorists" or extremists. The elite know that ideas are dangerous—once the illusion is broken, it cannot be restored.

The Battle for Truth

The struggle is not between political parties or nations—it is between control and freedom, between ignorance and awareness. Those in power do not care about left or right, liberal or conservative; they care only about maintaining their control. Divide and rule is their strategy, keeping the 90% fighting among themselves instead of uniting against their real oppressors.

The question is: Will the 5% succeed in waking up the masses before it's too late? Or will the 1% tighten their grip and usher in a future where true freedom is nothing more than a memory?

Media Under Modi: A Tool for Government Control

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ascent to power in 2014, India’s media landscape has undergone a significant transformation, with increasing concerns about press freedom and governmental control over information dissemination. 

Consolidation of Media Influence

The Modi administration has been accused of fostering an environment where media outlets align closely with government narratives. This alignment is often achieved through strategic dissemination of government advertisements and leveraging corporate relationships, leading to a media ecosystem that predominantly echoes the ruling party’s perspectives. This phenomenon has been colloquially termed “Godi Media,” referring to media perceived as being in the government’s lap. 

Suppression of Dissenting Voices

Journalists and media houses that critique government policies or expose uncomfortable truths have faced various forms of retaliation. Tactics include legal actions, raids on media offices, and the use of stringent laws to arrest journalists. Notably, the government’s response to unfavorable reporting has often been to label such content as “fake news,” thereby justifying censorship and suppression.  

Control Over Digital Content

The government’s influence extends beyond traditional media into the digital realm. Amendments to the Information Technology Rules in 2021 granted authorities sweeping powers to monitor and regulate online content. These rules include provisions for a government-appointed fact-checking unit authorized to label content as false, compelling its removal from digital platforms. Critics argue that this mechanism serves as a tool for the government to control narratives and stifle dissenting opinions online. 

Erosion of Press Freedom Rankings

Reflecting these concerns, India’s position on the World Press Freedom Index has seen a consistent decline. In 2023, the country was ranked 161st out of 180 nations, a significant drop from previous years. This downward trend underscores the growing challenges faced by journalists and the media in maintaining independence and freedom of expression under the current regime. 

Conclusion

The trajectory of India’s media environment under the Modi government raises critical questions about the future of free speech and democratic values in the country. As the government continues to consolidate its influence over both traditional and digital media, the space for independent journalism and diverse viewpoints appears to be shrinking, signaling a shift towards a more controlled and authoritarian information regime.

The U.S. government cites national security concerns over potential Chinese government influence and user data collection as reasons for the ban. 

However, free speech advocates argue that this move infringes on First Amendment rights and could lead to the app’s shutdown if access to ByteDance’s algorithm is lost. 

This action raises concerns about the consolidation of digital power among a few American tech giants, potentially stifling diverse voices and independent journalism.

The American public’s apathy is evident in the re-election of a convicted felon, signaling a troubling decline in democratic values.

Outlandish proposals, such as annexing Canada or Greenland, serve as distractions from unmet promises and policy failures.

Meanwhile, the nation’s infrastructure is deteriorating, exemplified by the recent fires in Los Angeles. 

Critics have pointed to the handling of these disasters as indicative of broader systemic issues.

The political landscape is marred by incompetence and corruption, with leaders failing to address pressing challenges.

The potential ban on TikTok has drawn criticism from free-speech advocates, who argue that such a move mirrors censorship tactics employed by authoritarian regimes. 

This erosion of democratic principles, coupled with the public’s complacency, paints a bleak picture for the future of the United States.

Normalizing this trajectory is untenable.

Media Control Fan Character: Tab This is a fan character from a really cool idea called the Media Controls concept - which was created by a very fabulous artist called UnknownSpy. I recommend you check out their work UnknownSpy . Name: Tab Gender(kinda): Their/them (still haven't decided if i want Tab to be more like a girl or boy QwQ) Personality: Clumsy at times, otherwise pretty calm. Ability: - Shoots arrow shaped beams from hands that send things flying approximately 10 feet away in any direction. Tab's ability is a more passive ability. -The strength behind the beams is uncontrollable; it's set to how much strength is needed to approximately send the object/being 10 feet away. -the arrow beams can slam an object/being into any other object like a wall, but the object that was shot from the beam won’t go 10 feet into the object it hits. This is because the amount of force put into the beam would send the object/being 10 feet away, but only as if the wall/floor/object-it-hits isn't there. -Even though Tab cant really control the amount of power behind their beams, it’s a lot harder for Tab to push a heavy object 10 feet away than a lighter object. -When Tab is directly touching Ctrl, they can send any group of objects/beings anywhere that they are allowed inside of the specific world that they're in. -When Tab is directly touching Alt, they can send any group of objects/beings to any world that they're allowed in. -Both of the previous teleportation abilities wears out Tab severely.

Concept origin: I always switch browser tabs using ctrl+tab, and and i switch browser windows using alt+tab. Since i use tab switching a lot, i really wanted to make a fan character based off of that; also since ctrl and alt were already made. I also use tab in documents to indent paragraphs, so i decided to make Tab's main ability to shoot things away around 10 feet in distance. >w< Appearance(Other what you can already see in the drawing): -Tab doesn't have any thumbs. -Their eye is an almond shape. - From the front, Tab's head is an isosceles triangle, but it extends to a point at the back. So their head looks longer at a side view - Tab's arrows are the same color as their waist and the top of their thighs. Fun facts(?):  -They're not called by other medias since they're kinda useless. X'D -Tab's waist and the top of their thighs can extend to a certain amount.
