Randomly generated Pokemon: Onix
(I don't have any review requests right now, so I'm just going to use a generator to pick a random line I haven't done yet until more come in.)
Tumblr media
Onix has a nice presence to it, mostly on account of being Freaking Huge (ironically, it's not even that strong of a 'mon). The idea of a big rock snake that tunnels through the the earth is solid and works well enough for what it is, though granted, the design always felt slightly lacking to me.
My favorite part of Onix is the head. I really like that it has a "muzzle" of sorts, and the horn helps separate the head segment from the rest of the body. However, the body itself is pretty plain, just a bunch of boulders in a line (how are those things connected, anyway)? I kind of wish there was more viration—some could be significantly bigger or smaller, they could be alternating lighter and darker colors, etc. Just something subtle to break things up a bit.
Tumblr media
Onix evolves into Steelix here, and the idea of regular rock becoming metal as it evolves is a solid concept. There are a few changes to the design here that I like as well—the red eye adds a minor touch of color and pops nicely, the oversized head is pretty neat, and I really find myself liking those spikes stiking out of the body. They help break things up a bit, and feel like a natural extension of Onix's head spike. The pointed tail is also a nice touch.
If I have one problem with it (outside of the somewhat odd inclusion of teeth—I liked Onix's toothless maw better), it's that it never really looked much like steel. I get that they were going for an iron ore kind of thing, but it doesn't come across well, not helped by the lack of metallic textures in the games. It's still just as jagged and rugged as Onix is, and while I really like that aesthetic, it does make it harder to tell that it's metal now. Otherwise, it's a solid evolution and probably my favorite out of the line.
Tumblr media
And mega Steelix is... a bit of a hot mess, unfortunately.
I say unfortunately because I really, really like the basic concept here. Steelix becomes harder and adds a bunch of spikes when it evolves, so this mega reveals that the spikes are actually crystals, which break out of the metal ore when it evolves. That's actually REALLY cool. It's also very nice because it adds some lovely pastel rainbow colors to the plain grey palette, breaking it up a bit without being overbearing. I also like that the segments go from small to large now, creating a pattern and adding some additional variation to the body.
The problem comes in with everything else. Those blue rings are downright garish, clashing with and taking away from the pastel colors added by the crystals. I don't even get what they're supposed to be anyway, and they don't seem to tie back into the crystal idea. They could've easily made those segments crystalline as well, or even just made them plain gray.
While less of a problem, I also think that those floating shards of metal are overkill. It's weird that they're floating (I've heard people argue magnetism, but that would make the shards stick to it rather than float around it), and I don't think you need them to convey the idea of the crystals breaking out of the metal shell. They're not terrible, but they're just cluttering an already cluttered design. (The excavator jaw is also a bit odd and doesn't quite fit with the crystal thing, but it's not that big of a deal in and of itself.)
Tumblr media
Anyway, overall: Onix is fine, but the body's a bit plain. Steelix is a pretty solid evolution in both concept and design. Mega Steelix is way too cluttered for its own good, with a great concept buried under weird jarring visuals. Still, some pretty decent rock snakes all around.

Weapon Copy Malfunction: “∅“ and “Void”
More ‘what if’ art. Proto Man’s counterpart to Mega Man’s Glitching Out, based on a scene from The Mega Man in the Moon Part 5 where Proto Man accidentally absorbed alien Justice Energy while attempting to copy Duo’s weapon and started to mutate into an alien robot like Duo (and for fun evil energy and monster alien form alts) Notes below cut.
“Null and Void”
Justice Energy Alien!Proto is based off of Duo’s original form, then for fun an evil energy variation based on the evil robot from that game (Duo’s original form is pretty cool. :)
Their nicknames are references to being a ‘zero’ in Duo’s serials (i.e. unplanned), his game counterpart’s serial number (000) and also his general nihilistic outlook
Void’s helmet is meant to resemble fighter jet cockpit with Break Man’s apparent singular eye from MM3. He has the ability to see things from miles away, handy when you spend most of your time in the stratosphere. His wings are also jet-inspired.
good/evil knight motifs, which also references Proto Man’s classic art except I didn’t want to draw his shield
Monster!Void
Another non-canon/just for fun canon monster!mode, inspired mostly by jets but also like birds/moths/quetzalcoatlus/whatever
Though actually Recut Proto’s monster!mode would probably be like. A literal alien jet. No other motifs. Just a jet. Yup.
…which would actually be kinda terrifying if you’re battling flyboy and he like, got pissed or whatever, transformed into a jet, and launched into freaking space to set up an ultimate attack/divebomb
so basically a transformer I guess

thots on sword and shield
ELLO YEWCHUBE so i got shield for christmas even tho i wasnt rly planning to get it. ive heard a lot of good things, but more bad things than good. ive been spoiled on a lot (which is ok, i love spoilers), and i thought “it cant really be as bad as ive heard, right?” unfortunately i haven’t gotten to rose’s final battle yet, but i’m pretty close! so here’s a review!
positives:
- the characterization and positive development of the rivals
- team yell was funny and wholesome, actually
- the gym battle system and how it’s treated as a sporting event is really cool
- i used to dislike the idea of dynamaxing but it can be pretty important for battles and powering up weaker pokemon, and some g-max pokemon are basically mega evolutions.
- character designs!!!!! pokemon really did good when designing some of the new creatures and human npcs!
- the zigzagoon line’s regional variant brings warmth to my little emo heart. i have a linoone at level 59 and i would die for her
- cinderace’s signature move!
- the darkest day being a reference to the x/y plot point of AZ using the ultimate weapon as the war was at its worst!! loved that!!
- its the only pokemon game that i’ve been able to focus on nonstop since the release of gates to infinity
- pokemon camp! its very cute and fun and gives your team exp!
- exp share is automatic
- toxtricity. i think thats my favorite new pokemon from the region! i love the references to guitar and bass and its signature move is pretty neat too! its cool to have a poison/electric pokemon :D
- cutting down on pokemon to get a reasonably sized regional/national dex is nice because you can fill it up faster which in turn gets shinies faster
- you can pretty much choose which pokemon to encounter unless they chase you first
- u can be emo (trainer customization is Everywhere....)
- skin tone variation in player character, main characters of color (leon and hop) that are treated RIGHT
- i think its very cool and cute that the gym leaders’ numbers are all phonetic puns in japanese!
- u can switch the keyboard language while naming ur pokemon so u can put swear words in it. i named my shuckle “fuckle” with a russian c and its funny. i am never using or trading him in battle though
negatives:
- u can switch the keyboard language while naming ur pokemon so u can put swear words in it. this is rated E for everyone
- grimmsnarl is nasty and i wish marnie didn’t use it on her team. or anyone for that matter. the end
- rose is the least evil pokemon “villain” out there and he had pretty good motives. having kids go up against someone who wants to solve climate change sounds a lot like propaganda especially in this current time! could have been handled better.
- dynamaxing is just Big Pokemon and gigantamax is glorified mega evolution. mega evos and z moves should be brought back
- a national dex wouldve been cool even tho its very tedious to fill out :”)
- no z crystals, which retcons the entire sun/moon necrozma/energy plot line :(
- oleana wants what lusamine has
- team yell wants what team skull has
- GAME FREAK NEEDS TO FUCKING UNIONIZE IT WAS SO RUSHED AND THOUGH I APPRECIATE THE ARTISTIC MERIT THAT WENT INTO THIS GAME I DO BELIEVE THAT GAME FREAK WORKERS ARE BEING OVERWORKED AND WE ALSO WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MUCH BETTER CONTENT IF THEY WERE GRANTED EXTRA TIME :(
- leon’s outfit is stupid. i love him though
- hop shouldve ended up as champion, i know its like your Job as the player to defeat the champion, but come on, hop deserves it
in conclusion:
- play it if u want! or dont. tho there are a lot of negatives to the game it can also be lots of fun for ppl so who am i to judge. im not ur mom. or am i

Thoughts While I Watch The Nintendo Direct A Day Late
Thoughts on the Nintendo Direct: Yoko Toro is an interesting person, that card game looks interesting but Y wouldn’t I just play Talisman? Cool to see more isometric RPGS on switch.
Hyrule Warriors is fun! Age of Calamity is where I really fell in love with the musou formula again - I played a LOT of DW Empires 5, so taking over a map / doing stuff on a map before combat is fun. The silly weapons like the broom etc also make this really fun. I’ll gladly play more of this. the new scientist warrior looks sick! Who asked for Chocobo GP? This looks like Garfield Racing re-skinned and with better physics maybe. When they said Chocoboooooo! I was hoping for a Chocobo’s Dungeon. My buddy Ted got that game with his PS1 and we though it was soooo cool, especially after playing Azure Dreams on Gameboy.
Thanks for telling us when we can see the new Smash Fighter which is probably more Sword boy / Sword gorl why won’t you put any interesting fighters in this game I am moving to Smash Bros CatDog Edition. Kirby washing up on an island is the most unlikely thing for a being who summons giant warp stars to fly through the universe on but okay. this looks INCREDIBLE. Kirby + Nier vibes with the busted up environment. what bums me out is that we saw the same enemy like, 10 times in the first 10 seconds of that one area. The giant snakes / fish are cool, but lets see some more variation maybe 3D Kirby boss fights look pretty freaking fun! 3D Kirby looks pretty great. It will suffer from Kirby things and also be fun. I will play it.
Hey, don’t worry. We’ll tell you some things about Animal Crossing in October. Not now - but in October. U will have content in November. Just hold on pls, be on the lookout for all ur rotten turnips in ur house
Lets move on, to more stuff second free update for Mario golf, which I would LOVE to play but can’t afford rn. I played it at my neighbors the other day and it’s pretty damn good. new courses and seeing little ninji run around will be very fun. Cool, kid Disney game. Dope. Old Republic for Switch looks great! Dying Light 2: Mirrors Edge edition. Oh, we can play with other people? That seems fun. Do we scavenge together? The Control cloud game demo felt okay on my wifi, but IDK about these cloud games as something worth getting on the switch when PC’s are a thing?
Triangle strategy looks dumb, Disgea does that shit better now right? Metroid Dread looks really cool, excited to run from big robot and make Samus Very Strong Hopefully u get to crawl around as big robot at some point in the game. Love the lore dump we get. Dude, Chozo were here! That’s sick!
Many people have been using switch online… Oh, giving out their old roms gathering dust for “free,” with their current sub was too generous for Nintendo I suppose. New plan for N64 games seem sick - the playing together online thing is very cool. Starting library is standard but nothing too exciting. Very excited to see how the emulation handles these games in relation to how they behaved on the console, as all the cool sped running shit we see in these sorts of older games vary depending on the version of the game.
I’m more excited about the Genesis line up than I am about the N64 one, save those two games I don’t recognize. We get Castlevania, a Contra, some puyo, Beatem ups, and playing this version of Gunstar Heroes might sell more of the other one. Expansion Pack is a name.
Notice how Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Comix Zone are not on these lists? They are too afraid to give us the best of what both platforms have to offer and it’s a shame.
WIRELESS CONTROLLERS FOR $60 EACH? ARE THEY BLUETOOTH SO I CAN USE THEM WITH OTHER STUFF? WTF
I was just talking to my friends about the Shadowrun Isometric RPGs last night! Cool. Castlevania collection looks dope. Button mapping is huuuuge for me. Love that. An Almighty Classic Returns: Actraiser - even the SNES game was hella off my radar, this looks dope. I’m down to side scroll and then town build. Deltarune + Homestuck are games that I really really want to play but my depression is such that I just sit and stare at the starting screen and nothing happens. One day I will consume Toby’s works and be better for it. But until then, I’ll just be excited for my friends and listen to the baller soundtrack. god dammit I love that dog.
new story of seasons looks cool but Natsume is dead, no hope left cept for Stardew #doomer NAMCO Hamster - yes. Rune Factory 5 might be good on the switch. The 3DS versions were sooooo sloooowwwww for me. I’ve heard really good things about the franchise as a whole though. MARIO movie thoughts: THIS CASTING IS GREAT EXCEPT FOR CHRIS PRATT WTF. WHY IS HIMBO WHO HATES GAYS MY MARIO?
CHARLIE DAY AS LUIGI WAS WRITTEN IN THE FUCKING STARS EXCEPT HIS SHORTER THAN FUCKIN CHRIS PRATT, HOW THE FUCK COULD YOU MESS THIS UP. CHARLIE DAY AS MARIO AND CHRIS PRATT AS LUIGI BECAUSE HE BUSTS GHOSTS WHICH IS SUPER THEOLOGICAL ANYWAY GOD DAMN DUDE. THIS ISN’T THAT HARD.
KEEGAN MICHAEL KEY AS FUCKIN TOAD MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THAT.
JACK BLACK AS BOWSER - WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER MARIO BUT ANYTHING THIS MAN TOUCHES IS GOLD.
Movie is saved by Seth Rogan, I bet you 1 full bitcoin that DK saves this fuckin movie.
FRED ARMISEN AS CRANKY KONG IS ACTUALLY PERFECT. He is a real life hipster Cranky Kong and I love it. Dude playing Kamek looks familiar? Who is that
After seeing Wreck it Ralph, doesn’t Mario sound more like a Kenneth the Page than a Starlord? IDK man. Boomers are weird. Splatoon 3 looks cool, bummer it’s still 4v4 but whatever. the story mode for 1 and 2 were great aside from the difficulty spikes. stoked.
THE WAY THAT BAYONETTA IS REVEALED IS ONE PUNCH MAN TIER COMEDY.
Also, ya’ll spoiled it for us with the capcom font.
WAIT A GLOVED HAND PUNCHED, NOT A DEMON HAND? YOOOOO MOMMYYYYYYY THIS HAIR.
YOOO BUTTERFLY SHIT HELL YEAH
THERE IS MY BIG HAIR DEMON YES OH SHIT WE GET TO MEGA ZORD FIGHT WITH OUR DEMON?! THIS IS FUCKIN SICK
OH DIFFERENT DEMONS TO FIGHT WITH THIS IS SICK. THIS IS HOW I WANT POKEMON TO PLAY. 100% NOT JOKING. BAYONETTA: GODZILLA EDITION
HOLY SHIT THAT IS TIGHT
UHHHH IS DANTE GONNA BE IN THIS
WHO IS THAT BOI WITH THE SWORD
UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Alright. There have been better directs, Christmas line up is looking p weak so far. Hopefully they can give us some bangers for holiday.

Top 13 Best Pokémon ROM Hacks
Pokémon games stand out as being one of the largest and most well-known fandom franchises.
It provides endless characters, possibilities, storylines, and games!
So, what is a Pokémon ROM Hack?
ROM hacks are video games that have been modified by fans to create an entirely new looking and improved version of a game. No need to confuse yourself between Pokémon ROM hacks and Pokémon GBA ROM hacks, they are all the same.
Grab your Pokeballs and your trainer hat! We have compiled a list for you of the best Pokémon ROM Hacks of all time!
The 13 Best Pokémon ROM Hacks of all time
1. Pokémon Mega Power
The game is a ROM hack of Emerald but features many distinct sprites and a brand-new story. In Mega Power, the character is on a quest to make the strongest Pokémon. To achieve this, your character has performed a lot of experiments.
Unfortunately, you are running out of funds. Not to worry! A mysterious financier comes to your rescue.
You go on an adventure, but suddenly you get an epiphany. Is your financier out for your quest for knowledge? Perhaps his money will be used to manipulate your strongest Pokémon creation?
The gameplay in Mega Power is remarkably like the original. Pokémon Mega Power does contain three new areas or Regions such as Ivara, Lander, and the Sevii Islands.
There are several Generation IV, V, VI, and VII Pokémon included in the game. It also boasts of having all the Mega Evolutions available in the game.
2. Pokémon Light Platinum
This one is a hack of Pokémon Ruby with edited graphics. In Light Platinum, you get to explore the Zhery Region while meeting and battling new rivals. Players can pit their skills against the region's awesome Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and the Champion. You can capture and train Pokémon from the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh Regions.
Be sure not to forget about the moves and items you can collect when you play this game. There are some special events that you can participate in the game as well as the Pokémon World Championship. Think of the Pokémon World Championship as the endgame content after you have dominated the Elite Four.
You can get an excellent twenty-plus hour playing Pokémon Light Platinum. That is some decent gameplay!
3. Pokémon Flora Sky
Pokémon Flora Sky is Pokémon Emerald, but with everything that you wish the original had!
There are more mountains, forests, caves, and a bunch more Pokémon in the game. There are 368 Pokémon to catch, each with animated sprites, new moves, new items, and a brand-new story.
This game is may is not perfect, but it grabbed some big-name attention. There are several things Game Freak and Nintendo have taken from this ROM hack for their next games in the series. This includes a progression system that does not require grinding.
To complete the story and progress through the areas appropriately, this hack makes you go on the form of a treasure hunt. It makes you see every nook and cranny of their upgraded Hoenn.
Every Pokémon is catchable, and some of the games' original encounter rates are reversed: It is easier to catch a Rotom in this game, but a fair bit harder to catch a Ralts.
A brighter color pallet and an easier story to follow as you play your ROM hacks place Pokémon Flora Sky on our list.
4. Pokémon Blazed Glazed
Pokémon Blazed Glazed is another hack of Emerald. This ROM hack is an improvement over the older version, which was Pokémon Glazed. The story is the same where your character has reached the age of maturity. You are given a Pokémon of your choice, and you start on your quest.
Unfortunately, the world is in chaos at that point, and you end up behaving to be the savior of both the real and Pokémon world.
There is also a Pikachu that is stalking you for revenge, but you can deal with that in the game. Considering that Blazed Glazed is an improvement or an update, the main features of Glazed is are there. These include choosing 5 Starters, different Regions to explore, as well as Dream World Pokémon.
There are quite a few new additions as well! There are added Pokémon from Generation IV to VI, new moves added from the different games, and different Pokémon added in different locations in the game. Some may spawn in the same location, and some added to the space.
There have also been some Pokémon moves that have been updated. This means that they do not learn their default moves in this hack. Quite a few worthwhile additions!
5. Pokémon Glazed
So, you may have noticed we already listed the game Pokémon Blazed Glazed. This next one, Pokémon Glazed, is the base of that game. While Blazed Glazed is somewhat of an improvement of this one, it is undeniable that Pokémon Glazed is still a fantastic ROM game.
You get the typical story of a boy coming into age and becoming a full-fledged Pokémon trainer. Unfortunately, the world seems to be ending, so you get to take part in saving it.
When it comes to the gameplay, you get to choose from five different starters. You can explore three Regions, such as Tunod, Johto, and Rankor. You also get to have Dream World Pokémon and a plethora of Legendaries to catch in the game.
Having the chance to battle trainers and Gym Leaders again is also a welcome feature so that you get more experience and money in the long run. Definitely a ROM game worth checking out.
6. Pokémon Theta Emerald EX
By now, we are coming to realize that Emerald is a popular game of choice for hacks!
Pokémon Theta Emerald EX is an updated version of Pokémon Theta Emerald. The story is somewhat the same, which is good, basic, and standard for any ROM hack available out there. This ROM hack does improve a lot of the aspects from the earlier versions.
There are over 700 Pokémon in this game compared to the 600 plus Pokémon in the past version. This also includes more abilities, TMs, HMs, and Mega Evolutions as well as Primal Revision. They also added the Fairy-type in the game and a new Repel mechanic.
There is also an added feature that is quite cool. You can run inside the buildings! This is a remarkably simple yet super useful feature.
7. Pokémon Mega Emerald X and Y Edition
This version of the game is finally complete. Pokémon Mega Emerald X and Y Edition is a hack of Pokémon Emerald but with fundamental elements from Pokémon X and Y. The story itself is a bit mundane, but it is the typical Pokémon adventure game that has its twists and turns. Most of the games and graphics are relatively the same.
The game still appears the same as Emerald, but the new Pokémon have their sprites edited for the game!
The game prides itself on having Pokémon from Generation I to VI, but not all of them. However, all the Legendary Pokémon from all those Generations are available in the game. You just need to trek through the different regions and areas to find and catch them.
Don't forget about the Mega Evolutions and Primal Pokémon available in the game. If you are looking to spend a bunch of hours into a variation of Emerald, then this is the one to go for!
8. Pokémon Liquid Crystal
If you felt a bit traumatized from Pokémon Dark Rising, then Pokémon Liquid Crystal will help to soothe your wounds.
It is bright, colorful, and you can play through this game at a very leisurely pace while progressing. To do so, however, would be to miss the point of this game completely.
This game allows you to revisit the Kanto and Johto regions as well as the orange islands. The game truly has an adventurer feel to it.
It will appear to be a duplicate of Gen 2 with Gen 3 graphics. However, this game serves as an apology to all the older fans, who could not keep their Pokémon as the games progressed from Gameboy Advance to Nintendo DS. That is a nice touch!
9. Pokémon Gaia
Pokémon Gaia is a ROM hack that used Fire Red as the base. The game contains somewhat of an intricate story. In the past, the old civilization worshiped gods, but earthquakes consumed the upper areas. Thousands of years later, you are now a rising Pokémon trainer being asked by Professor Redwood to help prevent another calamity of earthquakes, which will sink the Region of Orbetus.
The Pokémon come from the Regions of Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos. The moves and other aspects are inspired and utilized by Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Many different mechanics are used, such as the Mega Evolutions, Fairy-type, and underwater locations, to name a few.
You can also find several Hidden Grottoes and Secret Temples and use TMs repeatedly.
Gaia could pass off as a spin-off game if you truly put the work into it!
10. Pokémon Ultra Shiny Gold Sigma
Pokémon Ultra Shiny Gold Sigma is another ROM hack of Fire Red. Despite it being a hack of Fire Red, the elements and story are based on the classic Gold, Silver, and other aspects from Crystal. The story follows those games from Generation II, but there are some added plot points and other elements to the story.
You also have a Pokémon roster with over 800 of them from Generation I to VII!
The game has other features such as Mega Evolutions and the Miracle Exchange. A cool feature to mention is it removes the trading evolution. You can evolve a Pokémon normally without the act of trading them. EVs and IVs are also shown on the menu so that you can avoid complicated calculations.
Be sure to remember the day and night cycle, as well as having a dawn and afternoon time!
Are you looking to spend long hours catching a whole bunch of Pokémon? This is the game for you.
11. Pokémon Adventures Red Chapter
Red Chapter is part of the official Pokémon Adventure Collections. This ROM hack emerged third place three consecutive times in the Poke Community Hack of the Year contest from 2013 to 2015. It is also a hack of Pokémon Fire Red.
This follows the story of the Pokémon Adventure Manga. The game follows the Manga closely, containing most of the events. However, some events were changed to make them longer.
Since the game follows the manga closely, you do not get to choose your own starter Pokémon.
Good news, though! You will be able to get that later in the game.
This ROM hack features some cool things, including all Pokémon, are catchable, root fossil replacing old amber in the pewter museum, and blue and green making more appearance in the game. Additionally, maps were changed to reflect on Manga's appearance.
The graphics and display are updated compared to Fire Red, with customizable characters and levels up to 255.
The game also involves a day and night cycle, as other Pokémon games do. Try this game today when you are a big fan of the Pokémon Adventures manga.
12. Pokémon Dark Cry
Pokémon Dark Cry has a reasonably intricate story. You wake up and realize that you are lying in a cavern, and everything was highly contrasting. You see two individuals, remaining by a dim special raised area, discussing a “Shadow Plate.” You go after your Pokémon, yet they are not there. At that point, you see a man with “R” on his shirt. You attempt to stop him, yet he strolls directly past you.
This man plays out an unusual custom. Afterward, there is a gigantic quake, and a goliath shadow approaches you. You wake up and acknowledge that this was just a dream. You take a gander at the clock and acknowledge you are late for getting your Pokémon. Later you come to understand that your dream is becoming a reality. Creepy right?
The Pokémon Dark Cry features; new region, TrionPokePaper, daily news source, side quests, and mini-games automatic trainer, level cap increase, and many more.
This Gameboy advanced hack of the Pokémon Fire Red, according to users, is said to possess near-perfect gameplay. It also contains good mapping and amazing scripting.
13. Pokémon Ash Gray
This one is a hack of Fire Red, and the story follows the very first season of the Pokémon anime. You control Ash Ketchum, and if you are a big fan of the series, you will notice that the opening pretty much mirrors episode 1. Ash wakes up late and fails to get his Pokémon and ends up having Pikachu.
Embark on a quest to follow the story as it unfolds. As a bonus, they even added parts of some of the movies into the game.
You can get all the Pokémon that Ash got during his run in the series. However, you are not restricted in using those Pokémon. It is still a ROM hack, which means that you can get some Pokémon that you would want. You do get some Pokémon when the plot progresses, but you do not have to use them.
Considering this is based on the series, the Pokémon you can get is limited to the series. This means no features such as Mega Evolution and other Pokémon that have not appeared in the series.
This makes the gameplay more of a standard Pokémon game. They also removed the HM's. That means you can use items to do HM moves.
If you are a big fan of the anime, then this hack is exactly right for you.
Wrapping Up the ROM's
There are so many different Pokémon ROM games to choose from; it is impossible to pick only one. We hope that this list helped you narrow down the best ones to try!
This list has ROM hacks that have good stories, good gameplay, good Pokémon rosters, and more!
Which will you try first? The possibilities are endless, and as new ROM games will be created, there will be even more to check out!
After all, nothing is better than fans being so passionate about their games that they create versions of their own.
Where Can I Get these ROM Hack Games?
There are other locations to snag these from, but here are a few to check out!

When Ali and I became friends, we realized we both had the same type in men: bleach blonde band boys. We have now given our official ranking and list of favorites because if you write it down it becomes science. To further our study, we also included photos of these boys so you can compare for yourself. Some of these photos are of us with the band members and those might just be some of our favorites.
Before we begin, here is our list of honorable mentions:
Michael Clifford (5 Seconds of Summer), Jedd Webster (New City), Justin Timberlake (*NSYNC), Austin Porter (PRETTYMUCH), Pat Kiloran (MILKK), Sergio Calderon Jr. (In Real Life)
13. Tyler Szalkowski (State Champs)
via Nikolai Hasenhutl, @noisy.pictures
We would first like to mention that something about pop punk boys makes them superior. We don’t make the rules, we just enforce them. Tyler, in particular, is such a sweetheart and rocks the bleach blonde so well. During a State Champs set, it looks super cool, too, because of the colorful lights. Good lighting, good music, great hair.
12. Ross Lynch (R5)
via Getty Images
Okay, we had forgotten about him until he became Twitter’s while boy of the month awhile ago. He’s been letting the blonde fade away lately, but we will never forget how good his messy-haired blonde selfies were. Also, highkey love that he’s a bit of a throwback to Austin & Aly.
11. Paul Jason Klein (Lany)
via Paul Jason Klein, @pauljasonklein
So, he cut all the blonde off and we’re a little… bitter about it. Therefore, we couldn’t give him entry into the Top 10 (a sacred spot). However, we need to talk about how good the medium-long hair looked pulled back in a bandana. Also, when the roots were showing a bit? Amazing content.
10. Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low)
Wow, time for the Top 10 and it starts with a band that helped guide Ali and I both into the pop punk light. But, we get it. Technically, his hair is green now. However, there was awhile when it was doing that super pretty silver-y thing that happens sometimes with bleach. And also we’re kind of in love with the contrast between his mega dark eyebrows and bleached hair. Wow.
9. Sam Bowden (Neck Deep)
via @chrisblockd
We just really love Neck Deep, okay? Plus, Sam has mastered the perfect length for the bleach blonde look. He touches up his roots relatively well and has the right complexion for the style. It’s beautiful! No one else I’d want to see when I’m crowding surfing and tumble over the barricade.
8. Jack Johnson (Jack & Jack)
via Jack Johnson, @jackj
Wasn’t expecting him to pull it off, but he just… does. He has that scruffy beard and such that truly gives an even better overall look since it, like, frames his face. Also, Johnson wears those circle glasses, making the bleach blonde look mature in some way. Such confidence, inspirational.
7. Min Yoongi (BTS)
via @BTS_IS_BACK7 on Twitter
So, all of the BTS boys nonstop change their hair color and there is no possible way any sane person could keep up. However, Yoongi is blonde a lot and in our humble (mostly-non-BTS-stan) opinion, we think he just looks so soft and cute as a blonde that we had to include him.
6. EBEN
via Ali Fitzgerald, @alfitzpics
Look, we wanted to include EBEN in our Top 5 so, so, badly. Ali and I are both EBEN girls and extremely passionate about EBEN and will talk to you about him for 27 consecutive hours without shutting up. However, this is a very serious list and we had to be critical. The issue is that he’s not technically a band boy. He’s a great and talented solo artist who we love dearly. So, we found a loophole: E was formerly in a boy band called Far Young. Thank God because not including him would be a crime against fake blondes. His hair is so shiny and glossy. He radiates a sunshine vibe and that’s all that matters.
5. Corbyn Besson (Why Don’t We)
via Ali Fitzgerald, @alfitzpics
We decided that Corbyn would be higher on the list, but we’re just so used to seeing him with blonde hair that it almost seems… natural? (It’s not, though. He is definitely a fake blonde. So, much so that we told him about this list and he kind of geeked over the idea.) He pulls it off so well and also is an expert in fake blonde hair. He’s such an expert that he’s actually perfect at its maintenance. Actually, Corbyn is perfect in general. So, while his hair is probably superior… we had to rank him number 5. Part of the appeal of bleach blonde bays for us is that it takes a little risk and sometimes the cute boys don’t know how it works so they end up with variations of hair color and quality. Something about the shock factor and the kinda messiness of it all gives us major heart eyes. In conclusion, Corbyn is too perfect for his own good.
4. Tristan Evans (The Vamps)
via Getty Images
Looking at any picture of Tristan is just a lot for us to process. He makes the blonde both hot and adorable. That should be illegal, but its not so we have to just suffer and figure out how to cope with this sort of content. Also, the British accent may have influenced our decision just a little bit… because wow!
3. Eric Haines (Real Friends)
via Ali Fitzgerald, @alfitzpics
This boy literally made Ali and I jittery and speechless. Only a few days before we covered the show, he decided to go blonde. We could almost smell the fresh bleach (not really). So, after the show we tried to be professional (as we are) and talk music business, but I just word vomitted and Ali nervously twitched. So, we had to rank him pretty high since he left us that stunned.
2. Daniel Seavey (Why Don’t We)
via Zack Caspary, @zcaspary
Shaking while writing this because I am so head-over-heels for Daniel and while Ali claims Corbyn is her favorite Why Don’t We member, Daniel was her original fave. So, that makes us both extremely soft for Mr. Seavey, who recently surprised fans by bleaching his entire head. It looked so freaking good. It still amazes us every time we see it. The best part is that it faded to that pretty bleached silver. Everything about it screams cute e-boy. He made the second place spot on the list for being so bold and also for the way it compliments his blue eyes. However, Daniel keeps covering up his hair with a beanie, even when performing outside in the sun when we all know it would shimmer and make us soft. For the sake of fan girls every where, we would like to implore him to do better and take the beanie off, please.
1. Niall Horan (One Direction)
Ali with blonde Niall? Content that we deserve.
Our number one spot had to go to the man who started it all for both of us. In fact, I knew I could trust Ali when she slid into my Twitter DMs and I saw Niall followed her. Niall girls stick together. We later realized that our obsessions with fake blondes definitely began when we were One Direction stans. Even though the blonde in his hair may have faded, those memories never can.
Unrankable (Bet you thought we were done, huh?)
So… we would be amiss if we didn’t mention the king of hair… Awsten Knight (Waterparks).
via Tenor
While this absolute legend changes his hair color all of the time, we need to respect how often it actually is bleach blonde. We couldn’t rank him. That would be unfair to all of the other bleach blonde band boys who are trying their best. So, instead we gave him this category all on his own, especially since he even has his own line of hair dye. We stan this energetic, bleach blonde band boy so much.
Think we missed a band boy? Let us know! (We’re always looking for new bleach blondes to ruin our lives.) Tweet @aliandalexblogs or DM us on Instagram.
13 best bleach blonde band boys definitively ranked When Ali and I became friends, we realized we both had the same type in men: bleach blonde band boys.

The best places to eat and drink in Manchester’s Northern Quarter
The look on Mim’s face said it all; “That is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted”, she said gleefully, pushing the gloriously large yet somewhat daunting mac and cheese toasty across the table for Mark to taste. Were we in Manchester, or had we magically teleported back to our hometown of Melbourne for some top quality grub? Being from Melbourne, we’re kinda food snobs. When you’ve got access to so many incredible restaurants, it’s hard not to be. But our home right now, London, doesn’t quite cut it. It’s not that the food in London is bad; it’s just not that good. So you can imagine our surprise when we visited Manchester recently and discovered it’s food scene is on par with Melbourne’s, and the city’s famed northern quarter the epicentre for incredibly simple, tasty, and potentially artery blocking, food. Full of American style diners, Indian street food, Japanese infused eateries, and your standard brunch hotspots, the food in Manchester’s Northern Quarter might just be England’s best.   Here is our lowdown on the best places to eat (and drink) in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. WHERE TO EAT IN MANCHESTER’S NORTHERN QUARTER DISTRICT  INDIAN STREET FOOD AT BUNDOBUST, MANCHESTER Indian street food and craft beers. That’s Bundobust’s jam, and it’s kinda our jam too. Walking into the nondescript dungeon off Piccadilly, our first impression of Bundobust is positive – large, communal tables, bollywood posters, and a large beer menu of mostly foreign craft beers. Above the kitchen is the phrase ‘too much spicy’, which unsettles us a little. To our delight, the food menu contains all our faves – onion bhaji (onion, cauliflower, spinich bhaji), massala dhosa (rice crepe filled with potato and onion dry fry, served with lentils), chole batura (chickpeas cooking in tomoto and onion sauce), and paneer and mushroom tikka. Our interest is piqued by the vada pav, Mumbai’s favourite burger. We order it all, and sample each tasty dish, falling into an everlong foodgasm. The food here is exceptional, and were happy to state, some of the best Indian we’ve ever had. It’s also not that spicy. You simply MUST order the vada pav, which oozes flavour and subtle spice. The chole batura is another must eat. It’d be remiss for us to exclude the beer, and we suggest you start with an IPA – whatever they have (Bundobust change their beer menu regularly). Costs | Single dishes are around £6, a selection for two is £25, a selection of everything is £66 Where | Bundobust, 61 Piccadilly, Manchester M1 2AG   AMAZING CHEESE TOASTIES AT NORTHERN SOUL GRILLED CHEESE  We’re massive fans of cheese, and even bigger fans of cheese toasties, and nowhere have we enjoyed the delicious combination of bread and cheese more so than Northern Soul Grilled Cheese. Located on church st market, the selection of toasties certainly isn’t limited. All toasties are based on sourdough and their secret three cheese blend, with variations including Pestorella (includes fresh tomato, basil pesto), Mac Attack (includes, you guessed it, Mac and Cheese), and for meat lovers, the Cuban Pete (pork, roast ham, swiss cheese, mustard and pickle). We were taken aback by their size, and presentation; each toastie oozed cheese, and was accompanied by a gurken, a clear sign of a good toastie. Our faves were the Pestorella, which is a pure taste sensation, and the Mac Attack, which Mim proclaimed to be the best thing she’d ever eaten.   Northern Soul Grilled Cheese also sell a huge array of other comfort food, including Mac and Cheese, Nachos, and Milkshakes. Costs | £4.50 – £6.50 Where | Northern Soul Grilled Cheese, 10 Church St, Manchester M4 1PN READ OUR POST ON SEVEN AMAZING EUROPEAN DESTINATIONS TO VISIT THIS SUMMER  FREAK SHAKES AND CEREAL AT BLACK MILK, OLDHAM STREET We’d heard about freak shakes – the high-calorie, mega-milkshake that combines ice cream, chocolate bars and even an entire slice of cake, but we’d never actually HAD one. That all changed in Manchester, and life got a little bit better (or worse, depending on which way you look at it!) after we visited Black Milk in Odlham Street. Originally a cereal cafe, Black Milk has recently expanded to their Oldham St cafe, which now serves delightfully obnoxious freakhakes. Clearly, we couldn’t try them all, so settled for the Triple Oreo Cheesecake. As the name suggests, it’s full of Oreo glory and completely gluttonous, but totally worth it – especially when you’re burning off calories exploring the city of Manchester. If you’re not keen on the mega shake, try one of the cereal bowls – basically the cereal bowls you wish your mum would serve you when you were young. Our fave was the OH-LAA-LAA, featuring all types of chocolate cereal topped with toblerone, bueno and molten chocolate. It’s topped off with whole milk and cookie dough ice cream. Nom is an understatement. Costs | Freakshakes £7, cereal sundaes £4.90, ice cream sundaes £4.95 Where |Black Milk, 88 Oldham St, Manchester M4 1LF   COMFORT FOOD AT WEST CNR, MANCHESTER Manchester, with its red brick buildings and external fire escapes, often doubles as New York, so it’s no surprise that American diners are definitely a thing in the city. For good reason too – they serve delicious comfort food, perfect for lazy weekend days, or hung over mornings. Neither of those scenario’s existed for us, but we still decided a visit to West CNR. A pleasant environment with booths, bar stools and benches, we felt like we’d transported to New York. The menu is full of the usual; burgers, fries, salads and beer, of which we sampled just about everything (minus anything with meat). The burrata and heritage tomato salad blew our socks off, and we couldn’t go past the battered onion rings. West CNR also does brunch, with the eggs hollandaise their speciality. Costs | Mains, burgers, sandwiches and salads £7.50 – £14.50, sides £3 – £8.50 Where | West CNR, 21 Hilton St, Manchester M1 1JJ READ MORE: WHY MENORCA SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT SUMMER HOLIDAY ESCAPE COCKTAILS AND JAPANESE AT COTTONOPOLIS A former tailor’s studio, now a swanky bar come restaurant serving delicious asian fusion, Cottonopolis is a Friday night dream. They mix up delightful cocktails created by award winning mixologist Jamie Jones, and import Czech beer weekly (Krusovice), meaning their drinks menu is well stocked for a fun night out. We visited on Sunday afternoon, so while the atmosphere was distinctly quiet, the food and beer was great. We had the tofu bao and gyoza, two long term favourites of ours, and were suitably impressed. The Krusovice was the perfect afternoon tipple. Cost | Food ranges from £4 – £20 , beer from £4.50, cocktails from £8 Where | Cottonopolis, 16 Newton St, Manchester, M1 2AE COFFEE DREAMS AT TAKK, MANCHESTER We mentioned we’re from Melbourne, which means good coffee is seriously important (for Mim at least). Takk, on the trendy Tariff St, serves brilliant coffee, and literally saved Mim’s life after a morning blighted by an underlying ‘no coffee yet’ grumpiness. Takk has a weekly changing selection of four single origin coffees brewed by hand, and a beautifully nordic space to hang out in, should you not be like us, and order your coffee to go. Cost | £2.70 for a regular coffee Where | Takk, 6 Tariff St, Manchester M1 2FF VEGETARIAN AND COFFEE DREAMS AT PIG AND SPARROW Fig and Sparrow is one of those cafes that looks as if it’s stepped out of an Instagram feed. Ironically, we met up with one of our favourite instagrammers and writers, Annapurna Mellor, here. Sit in the window and watch Manchester go by, while enjoying delicious coffee (a common thread in Manchester), and predominantly vegetarian food, including a seriously good avocado on toast, with chili and walnuts. They also serve so great vegan treats – our fave was salted caramel slice. Cost | Brunch £3 – £10, Sweets £3, Coffee £2.50 Where | Fig and Sparrow, 20 Oldham St, Manchester M1 1JN We found Manchester to be a seriously cool place to spend time.
