Liam releases his debut album LP1 through Capitol Records. It's hip hop and R&B-oriëntated, drawing influencefrom Usher and Justin Timberlake. A number of singles were released ahead of the album including Strip That Down, Get Low, Bedroom Floor and Familiar. For You, Polaroid and the Christmas track All I Want (For Christmas) are also included as bonus tracks. Stack It Up was released as the lead single from the album. Live Forever is also released simultaneously alongside the album

Pura emoção: quando o cinema se encontra com os esportes

Gustavo Klein A união do esporte com o cinema geralmente rende excelentes filmes, nos quais a disputa é apenas o pano de fundo para histórias muito humanas. Rocky, em Lutador, de 1976, é um exemplo. Há vários outros: Grand Prix, com Toshiro Mifune, James Garner e Yves Montand, nos anos 60. Touro Indomável com Robert de Niro nos anos 70. Invictus, com Morgan Freeman, sobre Nelson Mandela, é sensacional. O recente Rush - No Limite da Emoção, sobre a luta pelo campeonato mundial de Fórmula 1 entre Niki Lauda e James Hunt, foi saboroso. Mesmo filmes low profile como Wimbledon divertem e emocionam. Até comédias como Vale Tudo, com Paul Newman são bem lembradas. Até o Karatê Kid e as continuações do Rocky (com exceção de Rocky V) despertam emoções. São sempre histórias de superação, de lições na derrota, de vitórias que custam caro. Histórias sensacionais!

Luta Pela Esperança (2005) Outra história inspirada em fatos reais, Luta Pela Esperança conta a história do boxeador James T. Braddock (Russell Crowe), que era campeão do mundo mas em 1928 sofreu um acidente do ringue e precisou abandonar o esporte. Ele e sua família chegam aos limites da indigência, passando fome e frio, durante a Grande Depressão. Aos poucos ele volta a lutar e, em 1935, consegue uma chance de voltar a lutar contra o campeão, o violentíssimo Max Baer, que já havia matado um adversário no ringue. Um show de interpretação de Crowe num filme emocionante.

Touro Indomável (1980) Celebrada história do boxeador Jake LaMotta, um peso-médio de Nova York apelidado de Touro do Bronx que vê sua carreira meteórica ser prejudicada pela terrível vida pessoal. A direção cabe a um dos maiores diretores da história do cinema, Martin Scorsese, na época em que ainda tinha De Niro – e não Leonardo Di Caprio – como seu protagonista preferido. Robert de Niro não era a primeira escolha do diretor. O ator precisou convencer Scorsese a deixá-lo interpretar o protagonista. Para isso, treinou com o LaMotta de verdade e engordou 25 quilos para o papel. Se deu bem: ganhou o Oscar e o Globo de Ouro de Melhor Ator daquele ano.

Carruagens de Fogo (1981) Grande campeão do Oscar em 1981, o filme é ambientado na Paris de 1924, na fase pré-Jogos Olímpicos, e foca em dois atletas que pretendem disputar os jogos: Eric, um missionário que corre em devoção a Deus, e Harold, um judeu que pretende provar sua qualidade. O filme ganhou quatro Oscar da Academia: Filme, Figurino, Roteiro Original e Música). A trilha sonora, composta pelo grego Vangelis, entrou para a história do cinema e também dos esportes, se tornou sinônimo do tema.

Rocky, um Lutador (1976) Sylvester Stallone é um péssimo ator mas conseguiu, com este drama escrito por ele mesmo, conquistar o Oscar de Melhor Filme e uma indicação para Melhor Ator. Conquistou o público ao contar uma história de superação e mostrar que mesmo um homem comum é capaz de grandes feitos. O protagonista é Rocky Balboa, um boxeador já em decadência, que trabalha como cobrador para um mafioso, que ganha uma chance de ouro: enfrentar o invicto campeão do mundo, Apollo Creed, em uma luta pelo título mundial. Ele se agarra com todas as forças a esta chance. As continuações são inferiores mas ainda assim despertam emoções: Rocky enfrenta o mesmo Apolo em Rocky II e se torna campeão do mundo. Luta contra Clubber Lang em Rocky III e contra o russo Ivan Drago, na Rússia, em Rocky IV.

Desafio à Corrupção (1961) Roteiro excepcional e interpretações brilhantes fazem deste um excelente filme. Paul Newman faz Eddie Felson, o Fast Eddie, um jovem jogador de snooker que sonha em se tornar o maior jogador de todos. Para isso, precisa derrotar o legendário Minnesota Fats. No elenco estão ainda Jackie Gleason, George C. Scott e Piper Laurie. O filme teve uma continuação 25 anos depois, com o mesmo Paul Newman vivendo o mesmo personagem já veterano e como tutor de um arrogante jovem jogador feito por Tom Cruise. Este filme – A Cor do Dinheiro – rendeu o Oscar de Ator Coadjuvante a Newman.

Rush – No Limite da Emoção (2012) Por mais que a Fórmula 1 tenha elementos tecnológicos, quase sempre foi o aspecto humano que decidiu seus campeões. A disputa do título mundial de Fórmula 1, em 1976, é a história deste excelente filme protagonizado pelos pilotos Niki Lauda e James Hunt. Lauda era dedicado e cerebral. Hunt, um festeiro que apostava no talento fora do comum para garantir suas conquistas (dentro das pistas e fora delas, com as mulheres). A disputa daquele campeonato foi prova a prova, sendo que Lauda sofreu um grave acidente e ficou fora de algumas provas, voltando no final para tentar garantir o título.

Menina de Ouro (2005) Dirigido por Clint Eastwood, este drama sobre boxe feminino desafia o espectador a não chorar. O protagonista é o personagem do próprio Clint, um veterano que passou a vida treinando grandes campeões. Sujeito fechado, ele não se abre para quase ninguém desde que sua filha se afastou. É quando aparece em seu caminho uma jovem determinada (Hilary Swank) que tenta convencê-lo a treiná-la. O final é surpreendente e, claro, não vou contá-lo para não estragar a surpresa e as lágrimas.

Vale Tudo (1977) Comédia deliciosa sobre hóquei no gelo. Paul Newman faz um jogador veterano e fracassado que assume um time de segunda divisão e, em uma tentativa de evitar sua falência, contrata três jogadores violentíssimos, os irmãos Hanson. E o time, com eles, começa a ganhar, transformando cada partida em um festival de pancadaria. Foi dirigido pelo mesmo George Roy Hill que trabalhou com Paul Newman em Golpe de Mestre e no western Butch Cassidy e Sundance Kid.

Rollerball, os Gladiadores do Futuro (1975) Esportes fictícios também entram na lista! Esta ficção científica é ambientada no que se imaginava – em 1975 – que seria o ano 2018. O esporte preferido do mundo nesse futuro é o rollerball, uma disputa violenta na qual não raramente há mortes durante os jogos. É um misto de hóquei com motociclismo. O protagonista é Jonathan (James Caan), o maior jogador do tal esporte, que se rebela contra sua federação e descobre um esquema de manipulação. Tem na trilha sonora uma coleção de músicas eruditas que ajudam a criar um clima lúgubre, soturno. Ganhou uma refilmagem, inferior, recentemente. 

Karatê Kid – A Hora da Verdade (1984) Quem nunca tentou imitar o golpe de Daniel no final de Karatê Kid? O filme, dirigido pelo mesmo John G. Avildsen do primeiro Rocky, conta a história de Daniel, um garoto franzino vítima de bullying dos valentões da escola que começa a treinar caratê com um velho mestre japonês e aprende os fundamentos da arte marcial. No fim, ele participa de um campeonato de caratê e precisa derrotar justamente seu maior adversário para conquistar o título e o coração da garota que gosta. Depois de assistir aos filmes, procure no Netflix a série Cobra Kai, que traz as histórias para os dias atuais.

Grand Prix (1966) Um clássico do cinema esportivo, Grand Prix tem estrelas do calibre de Toshiro Mifune, Yves Montand e James Garner. O protagonista é o piloto Pete Aaron (Garner), que provoca um acidente no Grande Prêmio de Mônaco que fere seu companheiro de equipe. Ele é demitido, acaba sendo contratado por uma equipe rival  e se envolve justamente com a esposa de seu ex-companheiro, que está em reabilitação.

Jamaica Abaixo de Zero (1993) Um grupo de jamaicanos decide participar dos Jogos Olímpicos de Inverno na categoria bobsled (descida de trenó). Como o país (quente e ensolarado) não tem qualquer tradição no esporte (disputado em locais gelados), o grupo vira motivo de piada. Mas sua determinação acaba conquistando o respeito de todos os atletas. O filme é baseado em fatos reais.

Wimbledon (2004) Simpática comédia romântica produzida pelo estúdio inglês responsável por filmes como Simplesmente Amor e Quatro Casamentos e um Funeral. Paul Bettany faz um veterano jogador inglês que já foi um dos 20 melhores do mundo mas está próximo da aposentadoria e sem ranking para participar do tradicional torneio de Wimbledon, depois do qual espera se aposentar. Mas ele recebe um convite dos organizadores e vai disputar o torneio. Acaba se envolvendo com uma jovem tenista (Kirsten Dunst), o que pode ajudá-lo ou atrapalhá-lo na disputa. No elenco estão ainda o ex-tenista John McEnroe, James McAvoy, Sam Neil e Jon Favreau. Detalhe: o maior adversário do protagonista é o tenista feito pelo ator dinamarquês Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (mais conhecido como o Jaime Lannister da série Game of Thrones).

Invictus (2009) Mais um filme esportivo dirigido por Clint Eastwood. Aqui, o protagonista é o presidente sul-africano Nelson Mandella, vivido por Morgan Freeman, que tem como principal desafio após ser eleito promover a união do país depois de décadas de ódio racial e Apartheid. Uma de suas apostas para unir o país é a seleção nacional de rúgbi, que vai disputar, em casa, a Copa do Mundo da categoria. Emocionante, tem no elenco, além de Freeman, os atores Matt Damon, Tony Kgoroge e Julian Lewis Jones.

"Tweezing is better for smaller, localized areas like your brows and chin," advises Lavanya Krishnan, M.D., a dermatologist based in San Francisco. Just make sure you're diligent about cleaning them. Another very common method is waxing. Using either soft wax, which is pulled off with cloth strips, or hard wax that simply hardens and is pulled off on its own, a practitioner can remove hairs from your upper lip, cheeks, brows and chin with ease. But this popular practice isn't for everyone.

"Waxing can cause irritation because the skin can be sensitive to the products being applied to the surface," warns Michelle Yagoda, M.D., a cosmetic surgeon based in New York. "An inexact technique may result in incomplete extraction of the hair follicle and breakage of the hair shaft, so the skin surrounding the hair shaft can then become inflamed." "It's just a myth that your hair will grow coarser and more densely after shaving," explains Dr. Krishnan. "The follicle gets cut in half so it feels pricklier, but it's not any thicker."

If you feel most comfortable with a razor, just be sure to take precautions so you can get the smoothest, least irritated finish. "Shave either in the shower or just afterward to allow the skin to soften," advises Anthony Sosnick, shaving expert and founder of Shaveworks. This is also helpful if you have thick or coarse hair, as the heat of the steam also softens the strands. Then apply a pre-shave oil, which is frequently used by men, but Sosnick notes that it can help women avoid razor burn too. As for the razor itself, Sosnick recommends picking one with two blades, as "they tend to be more targeted for those sensitive areas — and sometimes, fewer blades does the job without the potential for redness and razor burn." How to Remove Facial Hair with Laser Hair Removal

If you want something much more permanent, you can try laser hair removal, also known as intense pulse light therapy. "Lasers shoot a certain wavelength of light that's specifically absorbed by the hair follicle itself," says Dr. Krishnan. When that light is absorbed, it's converted into heat which kills the hair follicle. The advantage this route has over electrolysis is treating a larger portion at a time, while electrolysis (elaborated on below) is individually ablating one follicle at a time — think waxing versus plucking. The downsides: This isn't an ideal route for those with light or fine hairs, and the cost is high, with sessions ranging from $50 to $300. Plus, you may need several sessions to fully destroy the follicles.
