Critics Association of Central Florida Winners for the Best of 2022

I’m a member of the Critics Association of Central Florida (CACF) a film critics guild. What follows are the winners in a bunch of categories for the best of 2022. The big winner of the year was Everything Everywhere All at Once winning Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Screenplay. Michael Giachino, whose most recent work is Spider-Man: No Way Home, created 29 tracks for the score, which you can listen to on Spotify and Apple Music.

So, this is a little random, but... thoughts on Alexandre Desplat? I have always seen him hyped, but to me his scores sound like YouTube free samples for videos. (Particularly what he did for Harry Potter and Little Women). Which are your favorite OST composers?

A good question. I’m crap with names so I had to look up Desplat, turns out he’s scored a few films by one of my favourite Directors - Wes Anderson.

“The Grand Budapest Hotel” is one of my favourite films ever, and this is partly down to the scoring, which fits into the film and its surreal comedic style perfectly (as with “Fantastic Mr Fox”), elevating those films with an extra layer woven into them.

Potter 7 and 7.5 are the only other films he’s done that I’ve seen, and it’s been a good while since I’ve seen them. However, I can’t remember the scores for those being anything other than background accompaniment of a standard suited to films at that monetary scale. But perhaps if I rewatch them and pay attention to the score I may be pleasantly surprised.

As for my favourite OST composers, this was staring to turn into a big paragraph so here’s a better list of Composer and my Favourite Score:

7: Author I trust enough to read whatever they write.

Peter Watts. A marine biologist turned sci-fi author. A lot of his work is available on his website. Disagreeably misanthropic, but looks at ideas most people wouldn't even consider, such as whether sapience is an evolutionary dead end. His opinion pieces are also excellent. The protagonist of Blindsight, Siri Keeton, is also the strongest I've felt a connection to in any book.

9: Favorite flavor of anything.

Good quality hot chocolate with irish cream, perhaps.

Metal. My tastes usually center around industrial/gothic but I've been listening to a lot of metalcore and death/black metal of late.

The Batman Año: 2022 Dirección: Matt Reeves Guion: Matt Reeves, Peter Craig Después de tantas idas y vueltas con esta nueva entrega de Batman , descartando totalmente a Ben Affleck del proyecto,tenemos una nueva reinterpretación del universo del encapuchado y el resultado general es positivo. Comenzando por lo bueno, desde la dirección a cargo de Matt Reeves (Cloverfield,2018) se ha propuesto la lectura mas obscura y dramática del personaje y su universo, desentrañando dramas familiares varios. La fotografía, otro gran acierto de la pelicula, esta totalmente al servicio de esta mirada que por momentos es mas cercana a un film de terror (cosa que me ha gustado y mucho) y en cuestiones detectivescas me hizo recordar a Seven (David Fincher,1995).Las presentaciónes físicas de su antagonista, y claro también de Batman ,apareciendo desde un algun recóndito lugar acentúa el estado mental de ambos personajes.Indagar en esa sensación de miedo que el personaje oprime a los habitantes de ciudad Gotica le da poder al personaje y lo deja hacer de las suyas paseándose de aqui para alla sin que nadie tenga el valor de objetar su "venganza", pero claro, Batman no es el único ser humano viviente en Ciudad Gotica con esta necesidad... Otro factor fundamental y para mi donde radica toda la emocion de la pelicula es en su musicalizacion,a cargo del groso de Michael Giachino (Up,Super 8).Los momentos en donde se presentan los elementos de Batman ,y esa especie de leitmotiv que cobra sentido con el Ave Maria final... chapeau Giachino! Respecto a las actuaciones Zoe Kravitz y Colin Farrel me parecieron de lo mejor,a Pattinson desde de The Lighthouse lo respeto muchisimo,y acá con el disfraz me éxcito bastante.Si.Sexy Pattinson. Ahora lo malo: es necesario 3 horas de pelicula?No, complemente innecesario,el afan de crear una epopeya cinematografica de Batman le juega totalmente en contra,el amague continuo al final la resulta por momentos reiterativa y cansadora,y la tibieza con respecto a la violencia grafica termina pinchando varios momentos. Vale la pena verla en la gran pantalla? Pues claro.Es la mejor película de Batman? No,no lo es. - Yes, I've actually written quite a few poems about people! My hope is to one day put them all in a book and get it published

The emperor: What are some names you like?

- I know that names don't really have a gender, but I'm still going to separate them into boy/girl/gender neutral names :)

- Boy names: Timothy and Charles

- Girl names: Elizabeth and Gwendolyn (but Gwen for short haha)

- Gender Neutral names: Gale and Cameron

The hierophant: Do you believe in ghosts?

- Yes, I think so. My family and I have a running joke that our house is haunted

- Setting Sun by Lord Huron, girls by girl in red, and Townie by Mitski

The hanged man: Favorite movie soundtrack?

- This one is kinda tough! My favorite soundtrack is probably La La Land, with Wall-E a close second. However, composer-wise, I adore pretty much all of Michael Giachino's work!

But what about the work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the big draws take place without any hiccups? Ahead of Monday's UEFA Champions League round of 16, UEFA Europa League round of 32 and UEFA Youth League knockout play-off draws in Nyon, senior club competitions manager Antonio Giachino and head of club competitions Michael Heselschwerdt explain...

How long does it take to prepare for draws like the ones on Monday?

Antonio: I try to split the preparations across two weeks. It isn't possible to prepare everything the night before. You need to start after Matchday 5 and start thinking about all the possible scenarios: who can qualify, who can be eliminated, who can go from the Champions League into the Europa League and so on, so we start at the end of November.

The UEFA Champions League round of 16 and the UEFA Europa League round of 32 draws are the hardest to organise from a logistical perspective. You have a lot of draw balls to prepare and a lot of possible scenarios, and also because the draws are staged on the same day as the UYL [UEFA Youth League] knockout play-offs.  

From a calendar perspective, the date of the matches for the UCL [UEFA Champions League] round of 16 and the UEL [UEFA Europa League] round of 32 are determined by your final position in the group stage. UCL and UEL group winners play the return leg at home.

Take us through the preparations from start to finish.

Antonio: It's quite intensive. First of all, you have to look at all the clubs that can qualify. Then you start thinking about the best way to prepare based on those teams. Next, you think about all the materials required for the draw – the draw balls, the bowls, the slips of paper. You then work with logistics to ensure everything is available.

There are 1,440 balls to prepare for Monday's draws, which is quite a lot. You have to prepare three sets per draw. The first set is for the rehearsals which take place on the day of the draw. You prepare another set for the draws themselves, and then another, extra set in case something happens.

Michael: It goes without saying that we follow all the matches and discuss possible implications on the draw [stadium, city clashes] and the scheduling towards the end of the group stage, but for me the in-depth preparations normally start the week before. Antonio prepares the draft speeches and statistics for each club, so you read them and get into draw mode.

As far as the final preparations are concerned I go through it again the evening before just to be safe. In the morning we start with rehearsals, which are very important, so we have an hour or so where we can spot anything and say, "We need to look into this or that".

How do you ensure that the draw is fair?

Antonio: We ask auditors to come on the day of the draws. Firstly, they check that the closing of the draw balls takes place correctly and in accordance with the draw procedures. Then they are responsible for taking care of the draw sets until the balls are put in the bowls on the stage. Essentially, they are in charge of making sure none of the materials are compromised.

Do you ever get nervous about making a mistake?

Antonio: I'm confident because I believe in my ability to conduct a draw, but whenever anyone asks me if everything is okay, I say, "Wait until the end of the draw and I will tell you." The devil is always around the corner and mistakes can easily happen.

Michael: We learn from other draws taking place at UEFA and with other organisations to minimise mistakes. We have established several procedures by identifying critical factors which negatively influence the staging of the draws. These procedures will allow us to continue the delivery of services.

Can you envisage a time when the draw is done by computer?

Michael: It could happen because it would make the draw simpler, but in my opinion the clubs like to see their team drawn: they like to be there, see the draw balls. I think there would be something missing if you just pressed a button and whoosh, all the fixtures were done.

Hanno collaborato anche con prestigiose formazioni orchestrali quali l’Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala, la Filarmonica della Scala, l’Orchestra del Teatro “La Fenice”, l’Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano “G. In this story of director Brad Bird, Parr Family is once again in the center. The director has not pulled up the story of the film and in the first 10 minutes, the action starts in the story itself.

The beginning of the story of Incredibles 2 full movie begins with the last scene of the previous film and after this sequel is fun, and this time the heroine is not given the hero, but this time. This story is a bit complicated, but the last film of Nostalgia does not allow you to bore.

The animation of the movie is amazing and the film's designing is much better than before. Of course, animation has grown over time and this film also looks better than before. In the film, you will see animated characters almost real. Pixar has done a lot of work on the design of the characters in this movie and he looks on the screen.

The film's speed is good, though the story seems to be somewhere weak. In the film, Michael sings the music of Giachino and connects you with the movie sequence. Though the film took 14 years to come, 14 years later the movie was worth watching. This is a wonderful movie for the family and once you see it you must love it.

Yes, this movie is not as good as the first movie but this film will not disappoint you. If there is no Hindi film in this week then these superheroes will get the chance to take over the box-office this week.
