Due anni dalla morte di Daouda Diane: il sindacato Usb lo ricorda

Sono trascorsi due anni dalla scomparsa di Daouda Diane, ivoriano di 37 anni, svanito nel nulla ad Acate dopo aver lavorato mezza giornata in un cementificio. Il sindacato Usb ha organizzato per domani una manifestazione nei pressi della sua casa ad Acate, con lo slogan "Noi non dimentichiamo". Michele Mililli, segretario provinciale dell’Usb, ha spiegato che l’evento sarà anche un’occasione per raccogliere fondi a sostegno della famiglia di Daouda. "Non vogliamo spegnere i riflettori sulla vicenda, nonostante l'inchiesta non abbia portato a risultati concreti e non si sappia ancora chi sia responsabile della morte di Daouda," ha dichiarato Mililli. Anche Peppe Scifo, segretario provinciale della Cgil, ha ricordato Daouda in una lettera. Daouda scomparve il 2 luglio 2022, un caldo sabato in cui inviò video dall'interno del cementificio a un amico e al fratello in Costa d'Avorio. Dopo quel giorno, di lui si perse ogni traccia. Nessuno lo vide uscire dal cementificio e a casa sua rimasero i suoi effetti personali, compreso il biglietto aereo per tornare in Costa d'Avorio il 21 luglio, dove avrebbe riabbracciato la moglie e il figlioletto dopo cinque anni di lontananza. L'inchiesta della Procura di Ragusa, guidata dal sostituto procuratore Silvia Giarrizzo e condotta dai carabinieri, ha portato all'iscrizione di quattro persone nel registro degli indagati, inclusa una minorenne sotto la competenza della Procura di Catania. Tuttavia, l'iscrizione è stata un atto dovuto per permettere rilievi e controlli nei terreni dei titolari della ditta dove Daouda lavorava. Matériel et vélos de(s) Paris-Roubaix 2024

C'est ce weekend que se déroule Paris-Roubaix 2024. Nous avons arpenté les paddocks de la "Pasquale" pour découvrir le matériel et les vélos employés par les championnes et champions pour tenir le haut du pavé ! Pour les éditions 2024 de Paris-Roubaix, la météo a permis des courses rapides sur pavés relativement secs, avec du matériel et des vélos étaient bien évidemment adaptés à ces secteurs exigeants qui "parsèment" ce Monument. La quête du confort pour rouler vite ! La tendance est aux gros pneumatiques (30 ou 32 mm), en tubeless quasiment partout même s'il y a encore un peu de boyau. On retrouve, en plus des grands développements présents dans toutes les équipes, des mono-plateau dans les teams Sram. Côté confort, les rubans de cintre se prolongent très haut sur les guidons monobloc et ils sont souvent en double épaisseur. Le nouveau ruban Prologo Onetouch 3D a été aussi très largement monté. On croise aussi quelques selles de triathlon ou de chrono pour optimiser l'assise, point sensible sur les pavés... Les commandes de vitesses suppémentlaires refont également leur apparition à l'occasion de cette épreuve. surtout en Sram avec les fameux Blips AXS, petits boutons poussoir sans fil.b Et quels vélos pour Paris-Roubaix 2024 ? Beaucoup d'équipes ont fait le choix de prendre leur matériel habituel, donc des vélos aéros. Et si on ne voulait pas des vélos aéro on se "rabattait" sur les machines de montagne. Les vélos spécifiques pour les pavés été cependant denrée rare. Quelques Trek-Lidl avaient choisi des Domane, les autres étaient en Madone, tandis que dans les équipes Specialized il n'y avait quasiment que des S-Works Tarmac SL8. Enfin le team Visma-Lease a Bike a joué la carte du Cervélo Soloist cette année. Le paddock du Paris-Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift 2024 Commençons par le paddock de Paris-Roubaix femmes avec Zwift 2024, pour voir le matériel et les vélos utilisés par les championnes. EF Education-Cannondale Alison Jackson en plus de son dossard 1 disposait d'un Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix Evo aux couleurs canadiennes. Natale a Lecce: tutti gli appuntamenti del weekend Il weekend prenatalizio si preannuncia ricco di iniziative gratuite in città. Sabato 16 dicembre per le vie del centro, dalle 10, ci saranno Zampogne e Ciaramelle che eseguiranno nenie natalizie e musiche popolari, mentre nel pomeriggio all'ex conservatorio di Sant'Anna, alle 17 sarà inaugurata la mostra “Devozione Barocca”, curata da Caterina Ragusa e Valerio Giorgino, che resterà allestita fino al 14 gennaio. All'inaugurazione prenderanno parte l'arcivescovo di Lecce Michele Seccia, il sindaco Carlo Salvemini e l'assessora alla Cultura Fabiana Cicirillo. Verranno esposte le opere di proprietà comunale presenti in chiesa e nei locali annessi. Le statue, risalenti ai secoli XlX e XX, sono opere di Antonio Maccagnani, Luigi Guacci e di altri maestri leccesi e testimoniano la ricchezza della produzione leccese frutto anche della "pietas religiosa", alla quale va riconosciuto un valore artistico a volte trascurato. Domenica 17 dicembre, alle ore 10, la Villa Comunale tornerà ad ospitare “Bimbi in festa”, una mattinata di divertimento e animazione per bambini. Nel pomeriggio per le vie del centro, ancora per la gioia dei più piccoli, alle 17.30 fino a sera, i Christmas Cartoons, le mascotte dei più amati personaggi dei cartoni animati e, dalle 18, a rallegrare chi farà gli acquisti fra il centro storico e il centro moderno ci sarà la Zagor Street Band. Nelle casette in legno allestite in piazza Sant'Oronzo, prosegue fino al 7 gennaio, tutti i giorni dalle 10 alle 23, il mercatino di artigianato ed enogastronomia “Che tipico Natale”, organizzato dall'associazione Nereidi, mentre in quelle di Piazza Mazzini è già attivo la Fiera dei giocattoli, addobbi e doni natalizi, con gli stand che sono accessibili a tutti dalle 10 alle 13.30 e dalle 15 alle 23. Lungo via Trinchese, è possibile visitare, con gli stessi orari di Piazza Mazzini e sempre fino al 7 gennaio, il Mercatino della Creatività, che ospita le creazioni più variegate degli operatori del proprio ingegno. Nel chiostro dei Teatini, fino al 26 dicembre, è possibile visitare la Fiera di Santa Lucia, più di cinquanta espositori tra hobbisti e pupari professionisti, provenienti dalla città e dalla provincia, proporranno le loro creazioni che si rifanno alla tradizione salentina. Per il pubblico ci sarà la possibilità di ammirare e acquistare presepi, pupi in terracotta o figure presepiali in cartapesta. Nei giorni feriali la Fiera di Santa Lucia sarà aperta dalle 9:30 alle 13 e dalle 16:00 alle 20:30 (21:30 il sabato). La domenica orario continuato dalle 9:30 alle 21:30. Austen's Pride and Diary of A Madman.

Two Reviews of Two Great Shows.

In a one night performance of this wonderful rendition of "Jane Austen" called "Austen's Pride" at the beautiful Carnegie Hall, it was filled with great stars both on stage and in the audience. The story for the most part remained the same, however, set to an orchestral backdrop, the actors sang and acted with script in hand. Directed magnificently by Igor Goldin, the story-line and actors, for the most part, moved graciously about the stage. The first act at one and a half hours was a tad to long, but its rapid fire second act at fifty minutes more than made up for it.

Two actors stood out tonight... Mamie Parris (Jane Austen) and Carson Elrod (Mr. Collins and Mr. Gardiner). The two can flat out act. Ms. Parris singing voice is something to witness! She is one of the best actors that I have seen in a long time! Her movements, the "business" that she give is outstanding!

While the cast is steep, Olivia Hernandez, Beth Leavel, Etai Benson, Delphi Borich and Michele Ragusa are all incredible actors and make this a musical to be seen.

Pleasurable too are the costumes that Becky Flaherty provided to us. Capturing the period piece, Flaherty's costumes were as elegant as they were insightful. In this period piece, we never left the time period that Flaherty provided us in dress.

In the choice of music Matt Perri too brings us back in time. The charming forceful vocalists belted out these incredible songs with gusto, and leaving the audience in rapture all evening.

I am not sure if this musical will come to Broadway, I think this show works better at the Park Avenue Armory, however. The big stage, the big audience area makes it a natural fit. The Armory fits this shows personality.

in capturing the spirit of "Jane Austen", "Austen's Pride" is sure to resurface somewhere, and it should. It is simply to good a show not to! I only hope that they bring back the cast, or most of it anyway because this is a classy hit!

Diary of A Madman at The Russian Arts Theater and Studio.

At Pushkin Hall on the Upper West Side you will find an off off Broadway play that is just delightful! Gogol, who wrote "Diary of A Madman" was put forth on stage by The Russian Arts Theater and Studio.

Under the direction of Alekseyn Burago, this play captures the spirit of the book (which I also enjoyed immensely). Burago is particularly deft with showing us how the madman starts to spiral out of control. He shows us glimpses of the madman at first and then bringing his madness full force by the end of the show.

What better way to see this show in a warm, small theater that let's us sit in on this man who is running about, giving us insights into his crazy mind. The staging of this play too is warm, economical, and creative. This is what off off Broadway used to be! A person in the 80's and 90's could often find a hidden gem like this; not so much anymore.

Without a program I am at odds to tell you who from whom, but I will tell you the lead actor- the madman, turns in a performance for the ages! He is animated, deep and lite hearted all at the same time. The supporting cast too are excellent. As dogs, marionettes and various other roles, the support keeps us laughing, holding our breath and admiring the vast talents of these actors.

At two hour almost, it would have been better structured for an intermission. The theater was unbearably hot at certain points and it made it difficult to concentrate at times. An intermission would have given the audience a chance to really focus on just how insane this man became.

I look forward to visiting this theater in the future and get a chance to see some of the other great Russian writers of the past. Small, but cozy, this theater and theater company does it first rate!

Quando muore il sognatore, cosa succede al sogno? In miei due post precedenti, ti ho raccontato le premesse del Barocco Siciliano con Pietro Novelli a rappresentare la raffinatezza raggiunta ad inizio del 1600 nell’arte siciliana e con padre Tommaso Napoli a rappresentare gli influssi che dal nord Europa verso la fine del 1600raggiungevano la Sicilia. Padre Tommaso infatti, tornando dalla corte asburgica viennese, aveva portato con sé centinaia di disegni e tavole rappresentanti l’architettura che si stava sviluppando nel nord Europa. Essendo diventato Architetto del Regno, fu certamente il riferimento per i giovani architetti del suo tempo e sicuramente mostrò il bello che stava riempiendo i regni continentali. Cosi Guarino Guarini, nelle sue nuove chiese progettate per la ricca Messina mercantile, ne aveva subito l’influsso e così, indirettamente, il gesuita Angelo Italia e da qui a seguire fino ad arrivare Rosario Gagliardi che realizzò le più belle chiese barocche della Val di Noto. Gagliardi fu maestro non tanto nell’invenzione, ma nel riadattare spazi, ruderi di chiese antecedenti e prospettive esistenti per creare il suo sogno architettonico, verticale, aereo, scenografico e innovativo. In certi casi fu un ricostruire tra vincoli pratici, committenti incerti e limiti strutturali inconsueti. Per questo molte delle opere di Gagliardi, benché da lui progettate o da lui ispirate, furono realizzati e conclusi molto dopo la sua morte, passando di mano in mano, con la continua penuria di sovvenzioni e cambiamenti non programmati. Alla fine però il suo sogno gli è sopravvissuto, forse non per come inizialmente l’aveva immaginato, ma sicuramente il risultato, per noi uomini moderni, che abbiamo bisogno di macchine, computer e materiale speciali per realizzare quanto pensiamo, il risultato è fantastico.

When the dreamer dies, what happens to the dream? In my two previous posts, I told you about the premises of Sicilian Baroque with Pietro Novelli to represent the refinement reached at the beginning of the 1600s in Sicilian art and with Father Tommaso Napoli to represent the influences that from northern Europe towards the end of the 1600 reached Sicily . In fact, Father Tommaso, returning from the Viennese Habsburg court, had brought with him hundreds of drawings and tables representing the architecture that was developing in northern Europe. Having become Architect of the Kingdom, he was certainly the reference for the young architects of his time and certainly showed the beauty that was filling the continental kingdoms. Thus Guarino Guarini, in his new churches designed for the rich mercantile Messina, had suffered the influence and so, indirectly, the Jesuit Angelo Italia and from here to follow up to Rosario Gagliardi who built the most beautiful baroque churches in the Val di Known. Gagliardi was a master not so much in invention, but in re-adapting spaces, ruins of previous churches and existing perspectives to create his architectural, vertical, aerial, scenographic and innovative dream. In some cases he was a reconstruction between practical bonds, uncertain clients and unusual structural limits. For this reason many of Gagliardi's works, although designed by him or inspired by him, were made and completed long after his death, passing from hand to hand, with the continuing shortage of subsidies and unscheduled changes. In the end, however, his dream survived him, perhaps not as he initially imagined it, but certainly the result, for us modern men, who need special machines, computers and materials to achieve what we think, the result is fantastic.

A Gela in 15 anni sono nati 450 bambini malformati. Ma sulle loro vite è calato il silenzio Gela. Orazio osserva ma non vede. Non parla ma agita le mani per esprimere la sua felicità o la sua tristezza improvvisa, seduto in braccio alla mamma su una panchina di un distributore di benzina che qui, nella Gela urbanizzata senza regole, è diventato un po’ tutto: luogo di ritrovo per i ragazzini all’ora dell’aperitivo, svago per le famiglie grazie alle giostrine sul prato finto, fermata per i tir che percorrono il Sud più a Sud d’Italia, da Ragusa verso Agrigento. La mamma, Giovanna Gastrucci, lo tiene stretto appoggiato sul suo fianco nonostante il peso, da lontano svettano ancora le due torri ormai senza fumo della grande raffineria dell’Eni, da tempo chiusa e in fase di riconversione. Orazio ha sei anni, è nato con una cecità quasi totale e la spina bifida. Le sue emozioni profonde le capisci dagli occhi nerissimi che dicono più di mille parole. «Mio figlio, tra i bambini di Gela con malformazioni, è uno dei più gravi. Quando è nato, un ginecologo mi aveva proposto addirittura di abbandonarlo in un centro dopo aver saputo della malformazione, ma io non ci ho pensato un attimo. È mio figlio, non lo abbandonerò mai, anche se a Gela sono stata io ad essere abbandonata da tutti. Non ci sono centri di recupero, istituti dove fare terapie, nulla di nulla. Anche una sua cuginetta ha la stessa malformazione, anzi forse più grave». «E una parente di mio marito ha un problema molto serio», aggiunge la cognata di Giovanna, seduta accanto a lei su questa panchina che dà su cinque colorate pompe di benzina. Di famiglia in famiglia, di parente in parente, di voce in voce, a Gela tanti hanno un legame più o meno diretto con qualche caso di bambino nato malformato dagli anni Novanta ad oggi. Questo angolo di Sicilia adagiato verso il mare che guarda dritto all’Africa ha tra le percentuali più alte d’Italia e d’Europa per malformazioni congenite. Qui nell’arco di meno di quindici anni sono nati almeno 450 bambini malformati, uno ogni 166 abitanti. Un numero enorme, se si pensa che a Taranto, una delle aree più inquinate, in rapporto alla popolazione ne sono nati due volte di meno, uno ogni 331 abitanti. Cifre comunque approssimative perché da queste parti non c’è stato mai un monitoraggio costante delle malformazioni e un controllo capillare delle nascite nelle famiglie che vivono a Gela (...) Ma quando li abbiamo contati, ed è accaduto soltanto una volta, i casi erano abnormi, troppo alti rispetto ad altre parti del Paese e dell’Europa», dice Sebastiano Bianca, genetista dell’ospedale Garibaldi di Catania incaricato nel 2012 dalla procura gelese di fare uno studio sulle malformazioni neonatali. Una ricerca che come le altre sull’inquinamento di questa città si è fermata all’ingresso dei cancelli dell’Eni: uno sbarramento che la procura di Gela non ha potuto mai oltrepassare, perché nei tanti processi, conclusi o in itinere, ancora non si è arrivati a dimostrare un nesso causale tra la grande raffineria che dagli anni Sessanta ha portato lavoro, fumi e mercurio, e i casi di tumori e malformazioni. Il professore Bianca nel 2015 consegnò una perizia, pubblicata allora in esclusiva dall’Espresso, che analizzava dodici casi di malformazioni e li legava l’inquinamento della raffineria. Si legge in quella perizia: «Il collegio della commissione tecnica… ritiene che la possibilità che la spina bifida di Kimberly Scudera (atleta paralimpica, ndr) sia stata favorita dalla presenza nell’ambiente di sostanze chimiche prodotte dal polo industriale sia del tutto concreta». Dopo questo scoop dell’Espresso su Gela è calato il silenzio. L’Eni si difende ribadendo che «nel giugno 2018 il Tribunale ha emesso una sentenza di merito con la quale ha escluso, anche solo ai fini civili, l’esistenza di un nesso di causa tra il presunto inquinamento di origine industriale e un caso di malformazione neonatale». A breve si concluderà invece un secondo processo civile che vede cento famiglie chiedere un risarcimento da 80 milioni all’Eni, tutte difese dall’avvocato Luigi Fontanella. Dal Palazzo di Giustizia fanno osservare che a differenza di Priolo, dove l’Eni con una sua controllata ha riconosciuto un ristoro da 11 milioni ad alcune famiglie con bambini malformati ma senza arrivare ad un processo, a Gela il cane a sei zampe ha risarcito soltanto un’azienda per inquinamento, la Lucauto, che ha incassato oltre un milione di euro: si tratta di una concessionaria di auto con sede accanto allo stabilimento, appena sequestrata perché appartenente ad imprenditori che per la Dda di Caltanissetta avrebbero riciclato i soldi del clan mafioso dei Rinzivillo. Alla mafia, insomma, qualcosa sarebbe arrivato per l’inquinamento della raffineria. (...) Di Gela non parla più nessuno. Tranne qualche testimone, come il ginecologo Michele Curto, in servizio all’ospedale fino al 2015, che con le sue mani ha fatto nascere centinaia di bambini e tanti malformati: «Ricordo bene cosa accadde in particolare in alcuni anni, tra il 1993 e il 1998. Ci arrivavano decine di donne con gravidanze difficili, allora non c’erano molte strumentazioni per diagnosi complesse prenatali, e così tanti bambini nascevano con malformazioni molto gravi. Quello che mi ha sempre colpito è stata la vastità della tipologia di malformazioni, che non aveva riscontro in altre aree d’Italia. Quando sono andato in pensione ho cercato di ricostruire dei dati, ma non ho trovato più le cartelle cliniche e le nostre segnalazioni: alcune erano in un deposito e mi hanno detto che sono state rosicchiate dai topi». (...) Nel suo studio in via Benedetto Croce, nel groviglio di case a due passi dall’ospedale (a Gela un piano regolatore c’è, ma solo sulla carta) Antonio Rinciani, pediatra che sulle sue t-shirt si fa stampare i personaggi dei cartoni per far sorridere i bambini, ha uno sguardo malinconico: «In questa città non cambierà nulla, anche a causa di una classe politica che non ha voluto cambiare le cose. È la cosiddetta schiavitù del bisogno: il lavoro viene prima della salute». Il pediatra nei suoi quasi trent’anni di professione ha visitato centinaia di bambini con problemi e ha cercato di capirne di più, trovandosi però davanti fin da subito un muro di gomma: «Un feto a Gela può essere esposto a circa 200 sostanze chimiche e questo ha numerosi effetti sulle donne in gravidanza. Qui è calato il silenzio. La raffineria è chiusa e in riconversione, la speranza è che torni a dare lavoro, la certezza è che nessuno crede a un futuro migliore. L’ex sindaco Rosario Crocetta sul lungomare fece appendere una targa con una frase di Quasimodo: «Sulla sabbia di Gela colore della paglia mi stendevo fanciullo in riva al mare, antico di Grecia con molti sogni, nei pugni, stretti nel petto». La sabbia è tornata gialla, da quando il petrolchimico ha chiuso i battenti. I sogni, quelli, sono svaniti per sempre. di Antonio Fraschilla e Alan David Scifo

Arrivano i "Liceo del Made in Italy". 17 in Sicilia, ecco dove sono. 1 è a Favara. Enna rimane esclusa

Arrivano dal prossimo anno scolastico 2024/25 i nuovi Liceo del Made in Italy. In Sicilia saranno 17, di cui 1 a Favara. I Liceo del Made in Italy autorizzati nelle varie province, saranno così suddivisivi: 3 in provincia di Agrigento, 2 in provincia di Caltanissetta, 3 in provincia di Catania, 3 in provincia di Messina, 1 ciascuno nelle province di Palermo e Ragusa, 2 in provincia di Siracusa e 2 in provincia di Trapani. Nessun Liceo in provincia di Enna. Sono in totale 92 i licei a indirizzo Made in Italy sinora approvati sull'intero territorio nazionale. Oltre ai 17 che saranno attivati in Sicilia, ne nasceranno 12 in Lombardia e nel Lazio, 9 in Puglia, 8 nelle Marche e in Calabria, 6 in Abruzzo, 5 in Toscana, 3 in Liguria, Piemonte e Veneto, 2 in Molise e 1 in Basilicata, Emilia-Romagna, Sardegna e Umbria. L'elenco non comprende le 22 scuole per cui la Regione Campania non ha ancora autorizzato l'avvio del liceo del Made in Italy. Nel resto d'Italia, sono 6 gli istituti scolastici che, pur avendo presentato domanda, non erano in possesso dei requisiti richiesti. Il Liceo del Made in Italy offre un percorso formativo completo integrando scienze economiche e giuridiche con le scienze matematiche, fisiche e naturali. Attraverso questo nuovo percorso liceale, attivo dall’anno scolastico 2024/2025, gli studenti potranno esplorare gli scenari storici, geografici e culturali per comprendere le peculiarità del tessuto produttivo italiano e l'evoluzione sociale e industriale del Paese. Il percorso formativo, annunciano dal Ministero dell'Istruzione e del Merito, permette di acquisire competenze specifiche per la gestione d'impresa, sulle strategie di mercato e sui processi produttivi e organizzativi, preparando gli studenti alle sfide imprenditoriali. Combinando teoria e pratica, offre un approccio educativo multidisciplinare con sbocchi professionali in tutti i settori di eccellenza del Made in Italy. Matériel et vélos de(s) Paris-Roubaix 2024

C'est ce weekend que se déroule Paris-Roubaix 2024. Nous avons arpenté les paddocks de la "Pasquale" pour découvrir le matériel et les vélos employés par les championnes et champions pour tenir le haut du pavé ! Pour les éditions 2024 de Paris-Roubaix, la météo a permis des courses rapides sur pavés relativement secs, avec du matériel et des vélos étaient bien évidemment adaptés à ces secteurs exigeants qui "parsèment" ce Monument. La quête du confort pour rouler vite ! La tendance est aux gros pneumatiques (30 ou 32 mm), en tubeless quasiment partout même s'il y a encore un peu de boyau. On retrouve, en plus des grands développements présents dans toutes les équipes, des mono-plateau dans les teams Sram. Côté confort, les rubans de cintre se prolongent très haut sur les guidons monobloc et ils sont souvent en double épaisseur. Le nouveau ruban Prologo Onetouch 3D a été aussi très largement monté. On croise aussi quelques selles de triathlon ou de chrono pour optimiser l'assise, point sensible sur les pavés... Les commandes de vitesses suppémentlaires refont également leur apparition à l'occasion de cette épreuve. surtout en Sram avec les fameux Blips AXS, petits boutons poussoir sans fil.b Et quels vélos pour Paris-Roubaix 2024 ? Beaucoup d'équipes ont fait le choix de prendre leur matériel habituel, donc des vélos aéros. Et si on ne voulait pas des vélos aéro on se "rabattait" sur les machines de montagne. Les vélos spécifiques pour les pavés été cependant denrée rare. Quelques Trek-Lidl avaient choisi des Domane, les autres étaient en Madone, tandis que dans les équipes Specialized il n'y avait quasiment que des S-Works Tarmac SL8. Enfin le team Visma-Lease a Bike a joué la carte du Cervélo Soloist cette année.
