A thought just occurred to me, though I am unsure if this has been covered before: are there different ways to say ‘I love you’ in clanmew? Like a familial one, platonic one, romantic one, etc? I wanted to write some dialogue between characters in clanmew to test myself and was thinking about how a cat would proclaim that in different ways. :]
I made a BIG OL' LIST of familial terms now which includes the Clan cat concept of "love" in its many forms, but what remains the same is that love is a noun. You don't "Do" love as a verb, love is a thing you build and contribute to.
"Mirri rrehe pos [pronoun]" [Love Exists for (pronoun)]
Mirri is supreme love. It is the love of Clan and the collective. It's something everyone contributes to by being an honorable warrior, in a way that's hard to explain.
So when Tigerclaw found himself being exiled, this phrase changed.
"Mirri rrehen pos rarrs." [Love existed for you-outsider.]
But there are many kinds of love and many pronouns!
Sseeo rrehe pos urrs -> I have the hots for you Actively flirtatious, admiring them as a very attractive equal.
Wrarri rrehe pos nyams -> You're my good friend A confession of platonic adoration; you're telling them they're so much of a friend, they are in your family.
Piwarri rrehe pos rarrs -> You're so funny, I like that Something you say to your friend from another Clan that you enjoy spending time with, with the correct outsider pronoun to keep respectable distance.
Yyaawr rrehe pos wees -> you're my little pogchamp You're my helpless little thing Appropriate to say to your baby. LESS appropriate to say to an adult warrior.

if I cast Animate Graveyard and have Mirri, Cat Warrior (from Exodus) in the graveyard, does my graveyard count as a Cat Warrior? Or does the fact that errata has put her types on the type line in later versions mean she no longer "has" that rules text?
Yeah, that stuff's on the type line.

I was looking for cards for my birb’s deck (which we’re still in the process of building) and was browsing White Planarshifted cards from Planar Chaos and stumbled across Crovax.
Oh boy, do I still get PISSED thinking about how Planar Chaos treated him...and by that, I mean how they treated Mirri.
In the main timeline, MIrri spent her time aboard the Weatherlight with unrequited love for Gerrard and the job of getting beaten in fights to make sure The Worf Effect continued to be in full swing. This ended with her, due to a prophecy made that if she stayed with Gerrard he would die, sacrificing herself after Crovax was turned into a vampire by killing Selenia to give Gerrard no reason to stay and try and rescue her. She died, and Crovax ascended to Evincar.
So, what happens in the alternate Weatherlight Saga of Planar Chaos? Mirri, instead of hesitating and taking the blow meant to kill Crovax, instead kills Selenia, thus taking the curse Yawgmoth meant for him onto herself. And then, in a mirror of previous events, becomes a vampire and is confronted by Crovax. Except, with no prophecy, Crovax escapes instead of dying, leaving Mirri behind.
Yes. Mirri becomes Evincar, but Crovax LIVES.
Look, I’m not saying alternate universes have to be direct mirrors, but it seems ridiculous to me that Mirri is basically short-shrifted by the original story and killed off, and in the alternate telling Crovax gets to become some great hero of the Coalition.
I guess what I’m saying is I like Mirri. And...cats. And CAT WARRIORS. And...I’m mildly annoyed by all of this.
tho Mirri the Cursed is hella rad, okay

Follow-up to the previous Mirri + Animate Graveyard question: is my animated graveyard a Cat Warrior if Mirri is in it and I control R&D's Secret Lair?
