There's very little to be said for learning a piece note by #note, reading the #rhythmic markings, #practising the fingerings and following your instructor's suggestions, if you haven't any idea how the #music will eventually #sound and feel. If you learn a piece mechanically, you may have to 'unlearn' it before you can play it with expression and feeling. 02088839641 #preformwithpasion #classicalmusicians #musicpractice #musicpracticeroom #musicstudiol https://www.instagram.com/p/CnRVjnZIcdx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I haven't been feeling well these days, so I didn't do much piano practice (and didn't do much violin practice too, to be honest). So, this song was the one I've taken the longest to learn so far and I don't think it's that good hahaha . After spending a few good weeks in "French Children's Song", today I'm starting "London Bridge" and I have a great fondness for that melody, although I can't explain why. . I've been wanting to play Suzuki's songs on the violin... Who would say! I always hated to study at Suzuki. Maybe I do a Suzuki series on the channel? What do you think? . #violintures #asonginaminute #pianoprogress #pianoplayer #progressvideo #Suzuki #piano #pianist #pianistsofinstagram #pianomusic #pianoplayer #pianobeginner #music #classicalmusic #musiciansofinstagram #musicpractice https://www.instagram.com/p/CPl3iJtAmHI/?utm_medium=tumblr

Oops! I forgot to include the second video (performance version) when I uploaded this #practiceprocess for #súbito #piano #violin #practiceroom video Here are both videos: 1) Add a slight #crescendo just before the sudden drop to piano. This makes the sudden #dynamics change sound more extreme. ~swipe left~ 2) Performance version - sudden change in dynamic is precisely placed, noticeable, and tone before and after the change is high quality. #violinpractice #musicpractice #violinconcerto #violinist #violinclass #violintips #practiceviolineveryday #stringsattached #violintechnique #suzukiviolinteacher #violinmasterclass #violinsoloist #soloviolinist #classicalviolinist #100daysofpractice #practice40hrsperday #viola #classicaliscool (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRKZhKEACDA/?utm_medium=tumblr

Practice update!
I haven’t had much time lately to reflect on my practice sessions but I think I can spare a few minutes right now. So I have been trying to practice more. I finally finished programming 6 O’ Clock into Cakewalk Sonar so I can start learning it, but when I went through my Metropolis midi’s I realized that I was missing some of them so now I have re-program the ones I couldn’t find from my old computer - ugh!!!! So I will be working on Metropolis and South Side of the Sky by Yes next. Then I’d like to see about getting some drum transcriptions for Circus Maximus songs whether I find them or have to transcribe them myself. I LOVE Circus Maximus! They’re currently my favorite second band right now. I wish I could find some sheet music for them! It’s very difficult, at least as far as drum music is concerned. Speaking of which, I’m trying to learn “Loved Ones” by them on piano so I can sing and play the song on piano. I love that song soooooo much!!! :D :D :D Such a beautiful song. I realized that the chordify website/app is pretty accurate! I was so excited, I tried playing along with it for “Loved Ones” on piano and the chords it selected totally made sense. My fingers got a real workout playing it lol. So I’m going to try working with it more for some of the other songs I’d like to learn. I wish I had a paid subscription to it, might be worth looking into later on.
