My Little Mothkid

Okay! So for the last day of @alt-zadr-b1tch3z CREATURES, I wanted to share the idea for my one AU.

There is a lot of amazing work with Zim and Dib taking care of the smeet, and I thought what if they would find themself attached to a different type of creature, a moth creature :3

Dib with Zim, were sent to investigate what was the cause of the abnormal screech haunting the forest. During the investigation, they came across a frail-looking moth creature and Dib immediately decided to uphold their task to catch the new discovery. Strangely enough, they didn't have much trouble capturing it (I mean, of course! Dib is the best paranormal investigator after all. At least, that's what he was bragging about all the way home).

When they arrived at Zim's base, Dib was so excited and ready to dissect and examine the creature right on the spot but when it come to it

he couldn't get himself to do it

Still wanting to research the cryptid without harming it, he made sure to provide the monster with everything it wanted needed. From all kinds of food and treats to a ton of different toys. All in the name of science!

From observation, he found out the cryptid is a female, doesn't look like she can fly, and isn't able to speak, but still show some kind of verbal communication and understanding of her surroundings. In just a couple of days, all of Dib's notebooks were filled with information like: What is the length of her wings? What foods does she like? What are the best toys for her? What is the proper way to hold her to put her to sleep? All the necessary information.

Zim on the other hand wasn't so fond of the idea of her running all over his base and causing destruction everywhere. He already had Gir and didn't need another kid bag of germs with the lack of boundaries on top of his responsibilities. But stupid Dib couldn't even keep his pet thing properly clean, so again all the work falls on the amazing Zim's shoulders!

But they couldn't keep her locked in Zim's base forever, thankfully they have Tak to help work on the disguise so they could move more easily around the neighborhood. [In this story, Tak stayed on Earth and I will touch on why hopefully in some future comics ^^ (or if it will be too much for me then I will share it thru texts)]

But as time passes, one day they need to learn that stealing the cryptid from the monster forest wasn't the wisest idea.

Okay! So I know in a past few days I've been spamming you all with her, I just like to draw them too much xD

But for next Saturday I will have the "Pajama Party" update ready! yeay :D

Do you think over time, Moth will be able to communicate with her “parents?”

Pam after some time starts to understand human language more and more but isn't able to speak it. She just doesn't have the capacity for it.

At first, Zim created a collar that was supposed to translate her screeching into something more comprehensible, but Pam absolutely hated it. She refused to put it on or was screaming all the time when put in it.

Finally, Zim gave up on this idea and took a different approach. He collected all the data on human sign language and then started teaching it to her. Surprisingly she was listening to him for the first time.

I never actually thought of how they would be together xD

I also don't have specifics of how Pam would be with Tak. She isn't a big part of the story, but it's still a shame cuz she was the one designing her human disguise.

How old is the moth

Dib discovered that the moth had to be between 1 - 3 years old when they found her, but she would be like 10 in human years. Pam ages faster.

How old are the kids in the mothkid story? Like is this a tale of the worlds weirdest teen parents or are they in their twenties? (Living in the world where Zim is the same age and ages at the same rate at them because otherwise it’s a rabbit hole of confusion). Also if you gave any thoughts on how/why zim seems mostly peaceful now I’d be interested in em!

By kids you mean Zim and Dib right? They are in their early 20s when the events of this AU are happening. So this is a tale of the world's weirdest parents in their twenties xD

I've always seen Zim and Dib maturing the same way and Irkens just counting years differently so this is how it is in all of my drawings and stories. I talked a bit more about this on my Twitter if anyone wants to look it up. -> HERE When it comes to Zim being calmer, it's because I imagine Dib and Zim maturing a lot over time, even going to therapy. He's still a narcissistic, screaming mess, and he forever will be xD but he got to a point when he doesn't deny he cares for Membrane's family, and that keeps him more at peace. (Note: He doesn't deny it to himself, not others. It would take an apocalypse for this lizard to admit it to the people he cares for xD)

😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?

She isn't able to produce tears, but she breaks down quite often when she has to go to sleep or is left alone. That's why Dib is there to put her to sleep and Gir stays with her when the "dads" can't.
