Some people legit think Nathan broke Samantha’s ribs because he tried to rape her and she fought back, and not because he’s touch repulsed due to the abuse he’s subject to at home and got scared and overreacted horribly when Samantha got physically close to him, because of bad associations to touch. Can you please shut people who think that Nathan tried to rape Sam down? Please? - I definitely think that your theory is more accurate than Nathan trying to rape Samantha. I feel like he has a soft respect for her.

To be honest, the part of episode three that made me most uncomfortable is the vast difference in the hospital dialogue in regards to Nathan and Samantha. Like I got the one with the two parents where it was implied Nathan beat Samantha to the point of breaking her ribs and that was terrifying and completely the opposite vibe of Jefferson influencing his violent side that the first games gave. But then I was told that if you stepped in with the fight between him and the jocks, he goes and gives Samantha icecream and you’re told that “him” breaking her ribs was really them both being unobservant and her getting hit by a cyclist. And as the person who told me pointed out, given the setting, Samantha would have no reason to lie about that, especially seeing as I’m pretty sure that leads to the “good” ending between them. 

So what the actual fuck?! There’s such a major difference in the implications between the two. Like had it not been for the third option of the psychiatrist and Sean Prescott dialogue, I would have assumed that they meant to go for the cyclist incident no matter what but just REALLY BADLY translated it in terms of Samantha’s mother feeling like Nathan’s negligence caused the accident as opposed to him doing it. But yeah, it just makes me feel really uncomfortable how different the extremes are from CHLOE not stepping in. Not from Samantha (not that that would ever give him the right to hurt her anyway) or more predominantly Nathan’s actions, but Chloe’s. 

Like I get that they were probably trying to show he had issues long before Jefferson, but how it was done just seemed really left wing and out of the ballpark for me personally and really just left me like confused and shocked in the worst of ways. So like yeah, from someone who, while understanding Nathan needed severe mental help as opposed to purely prison, didn’t like him in the either game, this was just super uncomfortable and left a horrible taste in my mouth.
