This is Crown Hill, I've shared pictures of this neighborhood in the past because it's my favorite neighborhood in the city! Most of these houses were build around 1850 and many are on the National Register of Historic Places.

Vega Motel, Vega, TX Sign for the former Vega Motel, 1005 Vega Boulevard, Vega, Texas. Ervin Pancoast constructed the Vega Motel (originally Vega Court) on Route 66 in 1947. The motel had west and south wings, which contained 12 units. Aware of the importance of automobiles to travelers, Mr. Pancoast incorporated garages into his motel design, and pairs of garages alternated with pairs of motel units in each wing. At the same time, he also constructed a small house in the center courtyard that served as an office and personal living quarters. Mr. Pancoast married the following year, and the couple lived on the property, which became their life’s work. In 1953, the Pancoasts added an east wing containing eight units with built-in garages. All of the new units had bathrooms and some had kitchenettes. Like many motels of the mid-20th century, the Vega Motel was modernized in 1964 with a new exterior of Perma-Stone. After operating the motel for over 30 years, the Pancoasts sold the motel in 1976 to E. C. Betts. The Betts family operated the motel until 1988 when it was sold to Harold and Tresa Whaley. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The motel is no longer in business. by Robby Virus

Durango, CO (No. 3)
Main Avenue Historic District in Durango, Colorado is a 34-acre (14 ha) historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
According to its 1980 NRHP nomination, it was deemed significant "because it represents the essence and core of both the evolution and development of business and commerce in the most important town in southwestern Colorado.
In 1980 it included 104 buildings: 86 buildings deemed to contribute to the historic character of the area, 12 non-contributing but compatible modern buildings, and 6 negative intrusions. It was felt that "together these buildings still maintain the feelings, associations, and ambiance of a turn-of-the-century commercial district."
The nine buildings then deemed most important are: (on the odd side)
Gold Slipper (1900), 645 Main, originally built as an Adolph Coors bottling plant
Strater Hotel (1887), 699 Main, an architecturally eclectic Victorian four-story building
Main Mall, 835 Main, a modern building designed compatibly which holds about 35 businesses, which replaced several buildings destroyed in a 1975 fire.
Newman Block (1897), at 801-813 Main Ave., which was separately listed on the NRHP in 1979.
Gardenswartz Building (1901), 871 Main
Central Hotel (1899), 975 Main
Main Street Furnishings (1889), 1015 Main
and on the even side
Burns Bank (1892), 900 Main
Old Post Office Building (1928), 1090-8 Main
Others include:
Palmer House hotel
First National Bank (1892), 901 Main Ave.
Woolworths (1859)

county seat: corning population: 3704
you cannot tell me that the county seat of an iowan county is called fucking corning you're kidding me apparently the least populous county in iowa. the fact that it still has 3k people is surprising to me but ig iowa's population is fairly evenly spread out there are only 4 nrhp listings here, none of which are all too interesting. ig my favorite is the jail johnny carson was born in corning. crazy that there's someone that i've heard of from the <2k population town of corning, iowa there's a manmade lake called lake icaria that's apparently a decent-sized tourism spot overall a great county almost solely bc the county seat is called corning and it reminds me of corning my religion by sam onella

Bryant Building (Masthead Brewing)
1261 Superior Ave.
Cleveland, OH
The Bryant Building is a historic retail building located in Cleveland, Ohio.  The building, designed by the prominent local architectural firm of Christian, Schwarzenburg and Gaede as an automobile salesroom and service center, was constructed by Mall Motor Co. as their new salesroom and service center, and was completed in 1921.  The Mall Motor Co. was an automobile dealership located in Cleveland, Ohio. In the fall of 1920, Mall Motor Co. purchased a long on the north side of Superior Avenue between E. 12th and E. 13th Streets. Located at what is now 1261 Superior Avenue, the lot had a frontage of 120 feet on Superior Avenue, and extended 160 feet into the heart of the block. By December, Mall Motor Co. had hired the locally prominent architectural firm of Christian, Schwarzenburg and Gaede to design a $250,000 structure consisting of a basement and two above-ground stories. Construction would include a brick foundation, steel frame, reinforced concrete walls and floors, and brick interior walls. The structure would also have steam heat.
The $250,000 contract for the building was let in April 1921.  Local building firm Lundoff Bicknell and Co. was the general contractor, and provided brick, carpentry, and masonry work as well. The heating system was designed, manufactured, and installed by Warden and Lease; the plumbing system by Euclid Avenue Plumbing Co.; and the cooling system by Lee H. Gould.  At some point between December 1920 and July 1921, another lot about 140 feet deep and about 60 feet wide was purchased at the rear of the 1261 Superior. The building rose swiftly, and was completed by the end of April 1921.  The finished building extended from Superior Avenue to Rockwell Avenue.  It featured a 3,780-square-foot  salesroom with 16-foot high ceilings and six glass-paneled garage doors on the Superior Avenue side of the building. A mezzanine with offices overlooked the sales room. The sales area also featured restrooms specifically set aside for female patrons. Behind the salesroom was a 46,000-square-foot service area and garage. This area featured a lounge and showers for employee use.
Mall Motor Co. formally opened the structure on July 24, 1921, but then sold the building to the Bryant Motor Co., from which the building draws its name, in September 1922.  At some point in the 20th century, 17,700 square feet of garage at the rear of the building was demolished.  Cuyahoga County purchased the building some time before 1990, and used it as the headquarters of the county title agency.  The County began attempting to sell the 32,000-square-foot building to a private owner about 2012. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on December 11, 2014.  The structure finally sold for an undisclosed sum in 2016 to Masthead Brewing, a brew pub. The new owner significantly renovated 16,000 square feet of the front of the building into restaurant space, removing the dropped ceiling to expose the original ceiling height and adding seating for 250 customers. A sidewalk cafe was added to the Superior Avenue side of the building. The renovation retained the garage doors, which (when raised) allowed the interior to be open to the street during warm weather. Masthead Brewing opened in January 2017.

See the thing is that when you get more specialized in an area, you start forgetting what normal people know about the subject. This brings you to a moment where a customer at your job asks you what you are studying and what you're going to do with that field and then you start talking about fucking Section 106 and ARPA and the NRHP like normal people know what that is
