Anger at Macron Prints and Merchandise Available on Redbud Link in bio NFT's Available on OpenSea Digital PopArt Collection https://opensea.io/olusioner Labor strikes upended France this week as French trade unions held their first mass demonstrations since President Emmanuel Macron inflamed public anger by forcing a higher retirement age through parliament without a vote. Big crowds have started marching in the major cities of Marseille, Lyon, and Nantes as more than 250 protests were organized across France. I fear we may need to do this here soon for social security. #nft #digitalart #redbubble #paris #france #travel #parisjetaime #parisfrance #europe #parisianstyle #parismetro #CityofLove #InstaParis #ParisianScenes #TravelFever #PicOfTheDay #MyTravelMemories #GlobalTraveler #BeautifulDestinations #currentevents #news #picoftheday #photooftheday #instadaily #aesthetic #artoftheday #mosaic #painting #protest #retirement (at Paris, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqNmsCpAj4n/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Manga the Week of 9/22/21
SEAN: Even the Delta variant cannot stop the flow of manga coming through.
ASH: Which is impressive, really.
SEAN: Airship, in print, gives us the third volume of Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs.
For early digital titles, we get Mushoku Tensei 13 and Reincarnated As a Sword 9.
Ghost Ship gives us Parallel Paradise 6.
J-Novel Club has some new print titles, the biggest one of interest being the print debut of Tearmoon Empire. The story of a spoiled princess who, after being executed, finds herself in her 12-year-old self, I highly recommend it to all light novel readers.
ASH: I’ve been looking forward to giving this one a try now that it’ll be available in print!
SEAN: Also debuting is the manga version of The Unwanted Undead Adventurer.
They’ve also got Ascendance of a Bookworm’s 7th manga, Infinite Dendrogram Omnibus 3, and Marginal Operation 7.
In digital, we get the manga debut of The Emperor’s Lady-in-Waiting Is Wanted as a Bride. Also out in manga form: Black Summoner 4, Cooking with Wild Game 5, and The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar 6.
Light novels out next week include The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar 17, Seirei Gensouki 16, and Slayers 10.
Kodansha’s print debut is When Will Ayumu Make His Move? (Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru), from the author of Teasing Master Takagi-san. This is a Weekly Shonen Magazine title about a girl who is trying to get a guy to confess to her, and a guy who only wants to confess after he’s beaten her in shogi. As you guessed, he’s terrible at shogi. This seems fun.
ASH: That does sound like it could be fun.
MELINDA: Sounds fun indeed!
SEAN: In print, Kodansha has Bakemonogatari 10, The Daily Lives of High School Boys 7, Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro 8, Drifting Dragons 9, Heaven’s Design Team 6, Living-Room Matsunaga-san 7, Peach Boy Riverside 2, Rent-a-Girlfriend 8, Sachi’s Monstrous Appetite 4, Star⇄Crossed!! 3, Sweat and Soap 9, and Those Not-So-Sweet Boys 4. Printer finally delivered the books, huh?
MICHELLE: Definitely looking to the shoujo offerings in that lot.
ASH: Ditto! I’m glad to see more Drifting Dragons in there, too.
SEAN: Digitally our debut is You’re My Cutie (Kawaii Nante Kiitenai!!), a new Betsufure series about a girl who loves manga about cute kohais falling for cool sempais. Then she meets her own kohai… and reality is not like the manga.
MICHELLE: Hm. Maybe.
MELINDA: What Michelle said.
SEAN: Also: Blue Lock 7, The Decagon House Murders 2, Dr. Ramune -Mysterious Disease Specialist- 5, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk 2, Living-Room Matsunaga-san 10, My Darling Next Door 3, Our Fake Marriage 7, Ran the Peerless Beauty 10 (the final volume), Will It Be the World or Her? 9 (also a final volume), and You Got Me, Sempai! 10 (also also a final volume).
MICHELLE: Must finish Ran the Peerless Beauty!
SEAN: Seven Seas debuts My Wife Has No Emotion (Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga nai), a Comic Flapper title about a salaryman and his robot, and their growing closeness. Um…? Robot?
ASH: I will admit to being intrigued.
SEAN: Seven Seas also has The Dangers in My Heart 2.
Square Enix has The Apothecary Diaries 3 and The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest 5.
Tokyopop has Would You Like to be a Family? (Kazoku ni Nattemimasen ka?), a BL title from Gush about a soft-spoken man drawn into his loud co-worker’s life… complete with loud co-worker’s child. This looks sweet.
MICHELLE: Ooh.
SEAN: Viz gives us BEASTARS 14, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction 10, Fist of the North Star 2, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku 10, Maison Ikkoku Collector’s Edition 5, and The Way of the Househusband 6.
ANNA: Always glad for more Househusband.
ASH: Same! And I’m still super excited we’re getting Fist of the North Star, too.
SEAN: Actually, come to think of it, this IS less than usual. Manga, are you OK?
ANNA: I am concerned!
ASH: Supply chain disruptions are real!

Gearing up for Confuzzled - 2 Panels!
Alright, after a series of random setbacks this week (including a migraine this morning...thanks, brain!), I'm making my final preparations for Confuzzled. My parents are seeing France for the first time in their lives thanks to a business trip, and they're taking the opportunity to come down to Nantes to visit my husband and I. It's all really unfortunate timing with con crunch, but thems the breaks and I'm doing as best as I can to get everything in. If you will be at Confuzzled, I'd love to see you! And I'm sure you'd love to see the effort I'm putting in to all my prep. You can visit me in table C13 in the Dealer's Den (when you walk in, take a right and head to the back while keeping an eye on the table corners on your left for my classic purple tablecloth). I'll have large motivational A3 prints along with my travel tags, tons of stickers and a brand spankin' new zine featuring a collection of my favorite postcard inks and travel photography. I am sold out of "Detailed" postcard inks as I have a bit of a backlog between Patreon and convention postcard inks I still owe. I will be taking about 2-3 "standard" postcard inks, though! So hurry to my table if you'll be interested. Besides my table, I'll be hosting TWO PANELS! Yes, because I love to stress myself out I overloaded my schedule. But if you're looking to learn, laugh, and kill an hour of your con time, stop by to see my presentations. I always keep things lively and amusing while still aiming for brutal honesty. On Sunday May 26 at 7pm I'll be hosting a panel about Digital Inking. I'll share 5(ish) methods on how to ink digitally, and then go through more specific tips and tricks. You can read more and add it to your schedule here: https://confuzzled2019.sched.com/event/O75W/digital-inking-tips-with-zelaphas Then on Monday May 27th at 3pm I'll have a panel about my Travels! I've hosted this before at Eurofurence and it was a huge success. This time, I'll share many of the things I did in that panel, with some big updates on what's gone on in my life since then and all the good and bad in-between. If you're considering a life of travel or living and working abroad for a year or more, this is the panel for you! More deets here, and you can add it to your sched: https://confuzzled2019.sched.com/event/O75W/digital-inking-tips-with-zelaphas We still have another week to go, but as I mentioned my parents are coming into town this Thursday, so this is my final prep. I'll probably send a few more reminders on my various channels, especially my Twitter (https://twitter.com/zelaphas) to keep you in the loop. So, will you be there, and if so which panel are you looking forward to the most? Reply and let me know!

AR Awards for Emerging Architecture 2020 Winners

2020 AR Emerging Architecture awards
AR Emerging Architecture awards shortlist announced
Friday 30th October 2020 – The 16 shortlisted architects include emerging practices working in China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, Paraguay, Mexico and Peru, and in Kenya and India, as well as in the UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Portugal and Switzerland
We are delighted to announce the 16-strong shortlist for the 2020 AR Emerging Architecture awards. The 2020 shortlist includes practices that collaborate with local people in Peru and Vietnam, create extraordinary homes in Ireland and Japan, and intervene in rural landscapes in Spain and Mexico.
Some practise across borders, in Dublin and Belfast, and in Geneva, Lisbon and Madrid. Public squares are carved out of the city of Olot and a disused apartment building given new life in Seoul. Buildings are made of earth in Paraguay and of bricks in London. In a remote bookshop in China, architecture and furniture blur and combine; in Kenya, as much care is given to a seat as to a building. Programmes include schools and community spaces in India, a medical centre in France, and a marketplace in Mexico.
While the coronavirus pandemic continues to keep us apart, we are delighted to be holding this year’s judging virtually, with each of the 16 shortlisted practices presenting their projects to our jury of previous Emerging Architecture finalists, including Manuel Aires Mateus, Dorte Mandrup and Sameep Padora. The judging will be held during WAFVirtual, a week-long digital architecture festival running 30 November to 4 December 2020, where we will also be bringing together and catching up with AR Emerging Architecture alumni in a series of revealing conversations.

AR Emerging Architecture awards
First launched in 1999, the AR Emerging Architecture awards grant early recognition to young designers and celebrate the architectural stars of tomorrow. Since 2018, the awards have recognised a body of work rather than a single building, and aspiring candidates share a small portfolio of three projects with us: a completed building, a work in progress, and an idea. Early winners include Shigeru Ban, Thomas Heatherwick and Sauerbruch Hutton; more recently, Carla Juaçaba, Avenier Cornejo and Frida Escobedo. While the AR can take no credit for their individual talents, the award contributed to the success of these designers by promoting them on a global stage.
Announced later in 2021, the winner will receive a £10,000 prize and a second practice will be awarded the Peter Davey Prize, now in its third year and selected by the AR editors in tribute to Peter Davey, former AR Editor and founder of Emerging Architecture. The winners will take home a specially commissioned trophy and all finalists will participate in a series of panel discussions and have their work exhibited.
