Yeah guys it's a tragedy. Yuta being chosen as Gojo's successor and then LITERALLY becoming him, taking his place, sacrificing his own identity to inhabit the mantel of the strongest. Gojo finally understanding why Geto made the choices he made, even if it went against his moral code, for the greater good. Both Gojo and Geto having their bodies used for their power, being used as tools, as weapons, even in death, and that this is why Gojo felt no one would ever understand him as Geto did. Both of them wanting better for the sorcerers who succeeded them, and their successors realizing this cycle won't be broken with them.
Yeah guys it's a tragedy. You're supposed to be angry and hurt and disgusted. These characters were never going to make the choices we wanted them to make. They were never going to get the endings they deserved. That's what makes it a tragedy.

OK let's talk about parallels between team 7 and team gai.
Lee and Sakura, who dreamed of being strong enough to stand on equal ground with the rest of their team. Book-smart Sakura and no-talent Lee, who were seen as liabilities to their teammates in their genin years. Lee and Sakura who wake up every morning to train to their limits and then further still, who train their taijutsu to the point that they can shatter rocks with their pinkies. Lee and Sakura who know hard work better than anyone in the world.
Tenten and Naruto, who dream of being somebody in the world. Tenten and Naruto striving to learn more and more and more just so that others see them as useful and worth something. Tenten and Naruto who desperately yearn to be appreciated by their peers. Naruto, who everyone hates, and Tenten, who nobody knows, admiring a Hokage and wanting to be legendary and loved like they are. Tenten and Naruto who work tirelessly for the hope that one day they will be acknowledged and respected.
Neji and Sasuke, who bear the weight of a clan name on their shoulders and a destiny forced on them because of their eyes. Neji and Sasuke who rage against a system that forces them down and keeps them trapped. Neji and Sasuke whose own family betrayed them at such a young age. Neji and Sasuke whose love for their sibling soured and turned to hatred for a time. Neji and Sasuke, who, despite it all, still take pride in the names Hyuuga and Uchiha.

sometimes you think about how you can feel your pulse through your hips. you know cognitively that your femoral artery runs through your thigh - but how often does one reach for the legs when reaching for the heart?
when you were younger you used to picture the worst of you being bottled behind a stone-and-iron door. almost like something from a tv show or a book. it would slip mist over any gap you left open, pushing you towards an opening like a grave. you would check, obsessively, none of it had escaped. come back at night to shore up the walls. know it was only a matter of time before you turned your head and that thing would come out instead.
how ugly to ooze through your life, a mucus trail of depression. your anxiety seeping, spraypaint through styrofoam, melting your relationships. whenever you try to scoop up the pieces of your life, you find they turn into gelatin.
it is easier to coax yourself into a tight container. stretch the canvas over a different frame. force your body into a sculpture by a different artist. like this, you are funny and lighthearted. like this, your anger can be defanged.
like this, the panic attacks only belong to the night. they belong to that same animal handler you raised so long ago - her tired feet pacing your horrible little menagerie of ever-growing danger zones. you don't look the mirror in the eyes anymore - you see that ghost you captured so long ago; and she is hungry.
oh, you're tender in the daylight. it's all hard-won.
one day you will run out of things to feed the beast. one day it will scratch itself free. and oh god, what you'll lose, once it finally starts to run.

frankly i think hashirama and madara should've reunited by kissing each other full on the mouth and then immediately going right into fighting to the death. i think that would've greatly improved the story
