Another of my 'Dragonflies' Series, this one with a delphinium flower. This was painted in watercolors with prismacolor pencil details.

I went with a soft blue delphinium bloom, contrasted with the bright green on the stems and leaves. The delphinium dragon works more like a cross between a hummingbird and a bee, collecting bits of pollen on parts of its scales which it then brings to other flowers as it collects nectar from them which it feeds on.

The sketchy versions of the chibi plantbeasts going on Torch's ref! Again these were a little wonky because his form is canonically variable and it is CONSTANTLY growing and shifting around. It is legitimately difficult for several characters to look at for any length of time. These two are the most common base forms but he can take others, for example, a deer. Sometimes he grows antlers, sometimes he gets legs or extra legs, sometimes he gets a proper tail, flowers and trees can grow on him, sometimes the snake base doesn't even have leaves ~ could get a lot of different features depending on how long he's been transformed. Given long enough his forms always seem to converge on 'dragon'.

Some other fun facts:

-He can speak but his voice just emanates from his body in the general vicinity of his head. The snake base's head is solid; he CAN open it but its a splintery mess

-The planteater form starts off roughly the size of a large horse. He is mostly hollow. This form is big enough to be used as a mount and other characters HAVE ridden him (with permission) ~ this form is the ideal mode of transportation for certain types of difficult terrain, such as a swamp. Once he gets bigger more people can hop on. He grows pretty fast but they can speed it up with certain types of magic buffs.

-Once he is fully transformed like this it's actually a bit of an ordeal to get his normal body back as it's not as simple as "just reverse the process". He has to try to balance if the situation is worth losing his regular body for a bit or if he can get away with partial transformations (like just an arm for example)

Since this was a forest dragon, I went with the boring version and just made it another one in my long series of wood dragons ;;;... but I was a bit more creative with the frost drake design. :)
