three ships: Not really a shipping person, but here goes: Scorpia/Perfuma from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, because I like them both very much. Streetkid-V and Goro Takemura from Cyberpunk2077. The bickering, the swapping of war stories, the potential drama depending on your choices later in the game; big missed opportunity (also Goro is very handsome). Marceline and PB from Adventure Time. Back when it wasn't canonized that they were a couple. Three actual ships: Nebulon-B Frigate, Hiigaran Destroyer, Starfleet Galaxy Class
last film: I havent been in a movie-watching mood this year, but I recently enjoyed DUNE.
currently watching: Something I dont have to focus on while I'm drawing. So either rewatching old cartoons, cooking/history/movie critic channels, or some Streamer/Vtuber.
currently reading: I'm doing a slow re-read of Gideon/Harrow the Ninth. Totally different experience if you know where the story is going.
currently consuming: Semi-Yearly replay of Warcraft3. Then either another round of Baldurs Gate 3 or CP2077 Phantom Liberty.
currently craving: The potato salad I only make once a year for christmas eve (it's almost time).
Now to throw darts at a list of people and we have @artcher-artwork, @norkoartstuff, @makkon and @ninamodaffari

BACKSTORY
Shara Bey was born some time prior to the Galactic Civil War, which began in 0 BBY, and grew up during the reign of the Galactic Empire. She and her husband, Kes Dameron, saw that the galaxy was suffering under Imperial rule and felt the call to serve. As a result, they joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic prior to the Battle of Hoth, which was fought in 3 ABY. Bey became a lieutenant in the Alliance Fleet and primarily flew an A-wing, while Dameron was a sergeant and a ground soldier. Bey also piloted an ARC-170 starfighter for the Rebellion at some point in her career. Together, they had a son, Poe Dameron, in 2 ABY, who lived with Bey's father while the war raged on, and neither Bey nor Dameron saw their son as much as they wanted to.
Bey became a distinguished Rebel pilot during the war, and her actions during the liberation of Gorma earned her the Bronze Nova for Conspicuous Gallantry. Less than one week later, she earned her triple ace while raiding an Imperial fuel depot at Beroq 4, during Operation: Mynock Bite. Bey fought in dozens more engagements during the war, and her fellow pilots, many of whom credited Bey with saving their lives, spoke highly of her.
At Echo Base, Bey and her husband worked on building tunnels using a A-wing's cannon. However, the cannon caused a cave in and were trapped. She refused to take Dameron's equipment even to keep herself alive. As they recorded a message for their son, Bey and Dameron were rescued by Commander Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca. Bey went with her husband and boarded a EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate for medical treatment for Dameron. After Bey recommended the use of A-wing ion cannons instead of the planned heating technology, this faster method was used with multiple ion cannons to melt new tunnels, though rebel Chase Wilsorr was unaware of what setting to use, resulting in a larger briefing room than planned.
Bey was later recruited to lead Starlight Squadron under the callsign Starlight Leader, as part of the Fourth Division's Operation Starlight. The squadron was tasked with finding the scattered divisions of the Rebel Alliance fleet following the Battle of Hoth, to warn them that the Galactic Empire had cracked Alliance communications and to deliver a new Trawak code that C-3PO and his team had developed. During their search, the squadron discovered wreckage of the Sixth Division near Felucia and encountered Imperial probe droids waiting nearby. The probe droids latched onto the astromechs of the X-wings and attempted to access their archives. Fearing the probe droids getting the other rendezvous points, Wedge Antilles suggested shooting them off, however Bey questioned their ability to actually pull it off. Instead, Bey ordered all pilots to set their astromech's self-destruct and eject them. However, doing this meant losing their nav data and getting back home. With no other choice, the droids ejected and detonated, saving their valuable data from the Empire. With no time to catch their breath, the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Tarkin's Will arrived and attacked the squadron.
In 4 ABY, the Alliance learned that the Empire was building a superweapon, a second Death Star, in orbit of the Forest Moon of Endor. The Alliance Fleet assembled and launched a massive attack against the battle station.[19] Bey flew with Green Squadron during the assault against the Death Star, while Dameron served on the ground as one of the Pathfinders, an Rebel Alliance Special Forces unit under the command of General Han Solo, to destroy the shield generator protecting the Death Star. After the Pathfinders destroyed the generator, Bey and her fellow Green Squadron pilots defended the Millennium Falcon, piloted by General Lando Calrissian, as it entered the Death Star's super structure for the final attack. Calrissian and his fellow pilots destroyed the Death Star's main reactor, setting off a fatal chain reaction inside the station. Imperial ships began to flee in order to escape certain death, including an Imperial shuttle. Bey followed the shuttle to destroy it, but she was soon contacted by its pilot, Rebel Commander and Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, who had been aboard the Death Star—and whose actions led to the deaths of Emperor Palpatine and his apprentice, Darth Vader. Bey allowed Skywalker to pass unharmed, and the Death Star exploded only moments later.
When the battle came to a close, Imperial forces were left in chaos and, for the most part, retreated from Endor. Bey returned to Home One, the Rebel command ship, and reunited with those fellow pilots who survived. She received permission from Lieutenant L'ulo L'ampar, acting head of Green Squadron after Green Leader Arvel Crynyd was killed during the battle, to join her fellow Rebels on Endor, where they were celebrating their victory in the home of the native Ewoks who helped the Pathfinders destroy the shield generator. Upon her arrival, she searched the Ewok village for her husband, hoping to find that he had survived the attack. Bey encountered Generals Solo and Calrissian, and she asked Solo where she could find the Pathfinders and received a compliment on her flying from Calrissian. She soon found Dameron, alive and well, and the two went for a walk in the village to talk about their future. It was their hope that the war had come to a close and they would finally be able to resume their life together.
The next morning, Dameron was called away by General Solo, who told the Pathfinders that there were Imperial hold outs in an outpost on the far side of Endor. Unwilling to leave Imperials for the Ewoks to contend with alone, Solo and General Crix Madine agreed that the Pathfinders would launch an assault to destroy the outpost and drive the remaining Imperials off of the Forest Moon. Bey volunteered to pilot the Pathfinders to the outpost, and the group soon set off for the far side of the moon. Once they arrived, Bey brought the Pathfinders' shuttle in at a steep approach vector in order to hide their approach. The vessel opened fire on the outpost, quickly taking out many of its defenses. Dameron and the other Pathfinders entered the outpost while Bey remained behind, waiting for some time until they finally returned—bringing with them intelligence regarding the Empire's post-Endor plans. The war, it seemed, was not yet over.
With Endor behind them, Bey and Dameron once again went their separate ways. Bey continued to fly with Green Squadron, while Dameron went on more missions with the Pathfinders to press the decisive advantage the Alliance gained over the shattered Empire. As a result of Crynyd's death during the Battle of Endor, Bey became the default leader of Green Group initially. During the final stages of the skirmish on Madurs, Bey flew in amongst a dozen A-wings and one boarding craft to assist with the effort to capture Imperial Security Bureau Senior Commander Alecia Beck. Upon their arrival, Bey and the rest of Green Group managed to disable Beck's shuttle and board it, taking Beck and the rest of the shuttle's occupants into custody. Bey and the rest of the squadron then towed the shuttle and entered into a lightspeed jump, heading to a temporary headquarters where Beck was to face a tribunal.
One of the operations Bey undertook was the Beltire Liberation, where she flew assist for Rampant Squadron. Seventeen days after the Battle of Endor, Bey flew in a battle in Cawa City on the planet Sterdic IV. She and her fellow pilots destroyed a number of TIE fighters, as well as an All Terrain Armored Transport, in their successful effort to liberate Cawa City from the Empire. After the battle, she spoke with L'ulo about how much fighting had taken place since Endor and lamented the fact that the war was not yet over. Green Leader encouraged her to take a lighter assignment next, as she had been working non-stop since the Battle of Endor.
Three days later, Bey had returned to the Alliance Fleet and was assigned to be the personal pilot of Princess Leia Organa, one of the leaders of the Alliance, on a mission to the planet Naboo, where Organa hoped to rally support from the planet's government for the establishment of a New Republic. Together, they flew to Naboo without an escort; despite the princess' critical value to the Alliance, there were fears that a large group of ships headed to Naboo, the Emperor's homeworld, would attract Imperial attention. While en route, Bey talked to Organa as the latter wrote condolence letters to the families of Rebels who were killed during the Battle of Endor, including Private Able Nereno, a nurse aboard the medical frigate Redemption. The princess explained that she wrote each one personally, rather than relying on a protocol droid, as her parents—the late Viceroy Bail Organa and Queen Breha Organa of Alderaan—had taught her the value of a personal touch.
The duo soon arrived in Theed, the capital city of Naboo. Bey was surprised to see that Naboo was so peaceful, considering it was the homeworld of the Emperor. As the princess explained, terror was the greatest weapon that the Emperor possessed. For Naboo, their terror was the knowledge that he could have destroyed their world at any time, so they remained loyal to the Empire. Soon after the duo arrived, they were greeted by Governor Donta Gesset, who escorted them to the Theed Royal Palace to meet with Queen Sosha Soruna. Once there, Organa asked the Naboo to join with the Alliance in forming the New Republic and restoring the Galactic Senate. For the queen, it was an easy decision—Naboo would join the New Republic. Just as she agreed to join, the Empire began to lay siege to Naboo through the launch of Operation: Cinder, a posthumous contingency order from the Emperor to destroy the planet's environment and render it inhospitable in retaliation for his death. To carry out the order, the Empire launched satellites from an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer, the Torment, in orbit. These satellites, designed to disrupt the environment of the planet, caused major storms to erupt across Naboo.
In the midst of the fires, flooding, and widespread destruction across the planet, Bey deduced that there had to be satellites in orbit in order to carry out such an attack. As a result, that meant starfighters would need to be scrambled to destroy the satellites. Although the Emperor demilitarized Naboo, some N-1 starfighters left over from the Battle of Naboo many decades earlier remained hidden in a secret hangar, though there were no combat-ready pilots to fly them. The queen escorted the group to the old hangar, where Bey, Organa, and the queen herself all volunteered to fly the mission. Although Bey was in the presence of royals, she was placed in command, at Organa's suggestion, due to her combat experiences. With the question of command settled, the three starfighters took off into the storm and readied to engage Imperial forces in orbit.
As Bey started destroying the satellites, the princess and the queen fought against approaching TIE fighters—seventy-two in total, a full complement from the Star Destroyer. Bey's fighter was damaged in the battle, enough to where she was believed she was about to die. She asked the princess not to write the condolence letter to her family, as Bey did not want to add to Organa's burdens. Before the Imperial fighter could kill her, though, the two other pilots managed to destroy the pursuing TIEs and save her life. The three of them remained outgunned as they took out the remaining satellites, but they were saved by the timely arrival of General Calrissian and the Alliance Fleet, which had learned about Operation: Cinder due to intelligence gathered by Dameron and the Pathfinders during a raid against an Imperial Security Bureau]black site.
The arriving Alliances forces destroyed the Torment, prompting Imperial forces to retreat to Theed—where standard protocol would be to attack the city. Organa ordered Bey and the rest of the Alliance to head to the surface, where the Alliance and the Naboo were able to defeat the Imperial forces. After the attack on Naboo came to an end, Bey and Organa returned to the Rebel fleet. Once there, Bey reunited with Dameron, who had arrived with Calrissian's forces.
One last mission"What makes these little trees so special that you two Rebels would try to bluff your way in here to steal them?" "These are all that remain of the tree that grew at the heart of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant." ―Commandant Hurron and Luke Skywalker.
Over the next two months, the Alliance fought against Operation: Cinder on numerous worlds. The months of continued fighting saw Bey growing dispirited about the prospect of the war ending anytime soon or being able to live a normal life with her family. Dameron put in his formal request to be relieved from duty within the Alliance, but Bey felt she had an obligation to continue fighting. Nonetheless, Captain L'ulo took it upon himself to submit the request on her behalf. She objected to the gesture, but he told her that it was not desertion. She had earned the right to live a life with her family, a life free of the war.
With the request expected to take a week to be processed, the war gave Bey one last mission to carry out. After speaking with L'ulo, she was approached by an astromech droid named R2-D2. The droid escorted her to Commander Skywalker, who was waiting in the hangar with an Imperial shuttle, the Antarra—one that he said flew better with a co-pilot. He sensed that Bey was familiar and she reminded him of their close call during the destruction of the Death Star, when she nearly shot him down as he was escaping, and Skywalker also knew about her through his sister, Organa. Skywalker asked Bey to join him on a mission to the planet Vetine in the Merrick sector, a mission that she said she was honored to undertake with the famed Jedi Knight. R2-D2 joined them on the mission as well.
While en route, Skywalker gave Bey an Imperial officer's uniform and explained that she would be posing as Alecia Beck, whose clearance codes the Pathfinders had stolen during the raid at the Wretch of Tayron. Skywalker also explained that the mission was intended to retrieve something that the Emperor had stolen, but the Jedi did not explain what he was hoping to find. The Antarra soon arrived and transmitted its clearance codes, allowing it to land safely outside the Imperial base. Bey posed as Commander Beck while Skywalker acted as her bodyguard, a ruse that saw them greeted by Commandant Hurron. Bey claimed that she, as Beck, was there to perform a surprise base inspection. Hurron, who in reality knew that they were Rebel infiltrators, feigned ignorance and allowed them entry into the base.
Inside the facility, Hurron explained that security at the research base was tighter in the wake of the Battle of Endor, with the base even more restricted than it once was. He further explained that one particular lab, the one that Skywalker was looking for, was accessible by only himself and the Emperor, revealing that he never understood the need for such a restriction—until Bey's arrival. He admitted that he knew she was not Commander Beck, as Beck was missing her left eye. Hurron brought them into the lab where they found two tree fragments. Hurron's stormtroopers took aim at the two Rebels, and he asked why they would want to break into the lab to steal 'twigs.' Skywalker explained were the last two remaining fragments of a Great Tree that had once dwelled in the heart of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, before the Emperor stole them. R2-D2, who had been secretly holding Skywalker's lightsaber, released the weapon, and a battle against the Imperial forces began. Skywalker held off the stormtroopers while Bey and R2-D2 retrieved the tree fragments; R2-D2 released the force field holding the trees in place, and Bey caught them before they fell to the ground.
The three Rebels fought their way out of the facility and into its halls, where they were confronted by stormtroopers firing a blaster cannon at them. Skywalker destroyed the weapon and took out the troopers, giving the Rebels a chance to escape back to the Antarra. Once on the landing pad, Hurron and his forces caught up with them and began firing at them, though Skywalker merely deflected the blaster shots with his blade. Realizing that blasters were ineffective, Hurron ordered his men to throw detonators at them. Skywalker used the Force to toss them back, engulfing the Imperial forces in a massive explosion and giving the Rebels a window to leave Vetine. As the Rebels began their return trip, Skywalker said that R2-D2 had overheard Bey talking to L'ulo and knew that Bey was thinking of leaving the Alliance. Bey said she was tired and she felt guilty for wanting to leave, but that she knew the war was only worth it if those who were part of it could live the lives they fought to protect. Skywalker admitted that the only reason he asked the question was because he did not expect there to be two trees, and he wanted the fragment he did not keep to find a good home—one with Bey and her family.
The request submitted by Lieutenant L'ulo was processed, and Bey's service to the Rebel Alliance came to an end. As part of her compensation package for ending her service, Bey was given the RZ-1 A-wing interceptor that she flew for Green Squadron. She brought that and the tree fragment Skywalker gave her to Yavin 4, where she and Dameron made their home in a new colony located near the old Rebel base. Bey and Dameron planted the Force-sensitive tree outside of their house, giving it the good home that Skywalker had hoped for it.
In the years that followed, Bey continued to fly her A-wing as part of the civilian defense of the system. Sometimes, she took Poe in the cockpit with her and let him sit on her lap and hold the controls, as she kept her hands on his and helped guide him in his earliest piloting experiences. They would fly together across the moon and even into space, adventures that made Poe come to love piloting. Poe's earliest memory was when he was two or three years old and Bey brought him into space let him play with the controls of the A-wing for the first time. Curious and adventurous even at that age, Poe did a few barrel rolls around the gas giant Yavin. It was through these adventures with his mother that he knew that he wanted to be a pilot like her. Poe also grew up hearing stories about his parents' time in the war. While Kes was open with him about his war stories, Bey never liked to speak about her time in the Alliance. All she would tell him was that her own actions were not important, and what mattered is that they and other Rebels stood up to the Empire and answered the call to help free the galaxy.
When Poe followed in her and Kes's footsteps, she couldn't truly blame him, though she worried for him. She and Kes stayed behind, still trying to have that life they fought so hard for. But, there came a point when Shara couldn't just stand by any more. She galaxy was falling apart around her again, and she felt called to join the Resistance at long last, fighting beside Leia once more, and this time, her son.

Hi! I need some advice on how to write battle plans. Like in war and such. I’m also having to come up with terrain for this chapter I’m writing. This is a Star Wars story with two Jedi if that matters. Do you think you can help me?
I'm a bit under the weather right now, so this response is going to be fairly brief. We'll be back to our normal schedule as soon as possible.
The Star Wars part matters a lot. Most science fiction settings have specific considerations that heavily affect how combat encounters play out, and what needs to be considered for planning.
In particular, combat in Star Wars can be roughly broken down into three parts. Space, ground, and characters. The ground and characters being separate groups is somewhat artificial, but it does reflect how the films (and most Star Wars media, for that matter) is written.
Space combat has a lot of considerations and, generally, has a rock, paper, scissors relationship going on. Star Wars tends to split starships into three groups: Capital ships, starfighters, and bombers. This is less consistently illustrated on screen, and tends to be something that exists more in the support material. Basically, capital ships (usually) have heavy flak defenses against incoming fighters. Fighters have a significant maneuverability advantage over bombers, and bombers are (usually) equipped with long range ordinance to deal crippling damage to enemy capital ships. (Beyond that, there are a lot of ships that perform better in their role, or partially step outside of their role.) The resulting structure is that capital ships operate as the heavy firepower supported by starfighters who have the specific job of screening off any incoming bombers. (In the original Trilogy, the TIE Fighters, TIE Interceptors, and TIE Advanced are the Empire's fighters, with the TIE Bombers as their only bomber variety. The Rebels use X-Wings, A-Wings as their starfighters, with the Y-Wings and B-Wings serving as their bombers. If you ever wondered why the sent in Y-Wings on the first trench run, here's your answer.)
Star Destroyers (Imperial-Class, and the Executor SSD), Mon Calamari Star Cruisers (these are noted for not having a standard design pattern, so a lot of the weird globby capital ships in Return of the Jedi are all MonCal Star Cruisers), Corellian Corvettes, and Nebulon-B Frigates cover most of the capital ships you see in the original films.
If you want to expand beyond that, then the original Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn is a pretty good place to start. Thrawn is a very well written strategist, especiallyin his original outing, and Zahn introduced a lot of strategically interesting mechanics to Star Wars that hadn't been set up in the original films. This included the concept of interdictors which could create an artificial gravity well to force ships out of Hyperspace.
Moving on to ground combat, Star Wars is a setting that's usually pretty good about paying attention to combined arms. Most starfighters and bombers (including all of the ones I mentioned above), are able to provide close air support, and capital ships can provide targeted orbital bombardment (in the case of some larger capital ships, they can obliterate entire cities, and fleets effectively wipe out entire planetary civilizations. Usually the reason not to do this is because the faction in question is unwilling to do so, or the planet has some direct strategic value.) This is on top of a lot of atmospheric only speeders and walkers that exist. Also technology like energy shields which can (in some cases) provide full protection against orbital bombardment, and a heavily fortified planet may have surface-to-space ion cannons and/or turbolaser batteries, which could make life very interesting for an invading fleet attempting to clear the planet.
A lot of the time, ground combat in Star Wars will either focus on the vehicle combat directly or mix between vehicles and infantry combat. Actually drafting up battle plans in situations like this is going to depend primarily on strategic considerations for where they're fighting. If repulsorlifts don't work on the planet, then T-47 speeders aren't an option, and everyone's restricted to walkers and treadded vehicles. If it's an exceptionally dense urban environment that needs to be taken (mostly) intact, then you're probably looking at normal infantry for a long drawn out campaign, where they're unlikely to use anything heavier than a concussion rifle. If the goal is to simply turn a facility into a crater, you can do that with a few proton bombs fired from a flight of Y-Wings.
It really depends on what you need done.
After that, the films have very strong focus on duels between major characters. Characters (especially Jedi) tend to quickly carve through, or easily evade, any ground units sent after them. If you're a named character in Star Wars, the real danger is another named character, not some random troopers (even if they should pose more of a threat.)
It might be worth digging up a copy of Empire at War. It's an older Star Wars RTS, but a very well made one, which embraces some of the setting's strategic depth, and has enough interesting concepts to get you thinking.

“The Eternal Watchman:
The model is of the S.D.F Karybdis, the original flagship of the Severian Defense Fleet. Having served in defense of the Principate between 10 BBY and 07 ABY, the Nebulon B Frigate was captained by Lucian Niatinus himself during his early years of rulership. Originally labelled the Tyrant’s Hand, it was renamed after a fast moving channel on Sirmium to reflect the Principate’s secession from the Galactic Empire.
The ship fought in multiple engagements both prior to and following the Principate’s formation, typically against rival powers and pirate groups. Supporting the Defense Fleet as a light carrier, the vessel earned a multitude of battle honours for actions beginning with the Battle of the Orphan Gulf, which saw the total destruction of a slaver guild which had plagued the Principate’s worlds for fifteen years. Later conflicts would include the Osalner Landings, in which the Karybdis engaged and destroyed five corvette class raiders as it served as the sole orbital support for the 422nd Evocati in an attack on a pro-Imperial holdout.
Accumulated battle damage saw the Karybdis finally retired in 08 ABY and sent to a deconstruction yard, but a turbulent exit from hyperspace led to it being torn free from the tug escorting it. The Karybdis fell into orbit over the moon of Einboldt, in an act its former crew have claimed was a final bid for freedom. This action led to public attention and, after its orbit was stabilised, the vessel was converted into a museum ship.”

This was one of several pieces produced for a recent Dark Jedi Brotherhood competition, offering up a gift to the Principate. The reasoning behind this, and the creation process will be uploaded in a second document, breaking down how this was all put together. This is just the end result of all that.
To make this clear: This was far from my best work. I was working with an unfamiliar material, forced to move my workspace more than eight times during construction, without the tools I would typically use, the paint brushes I would need for fine work, and against a crowded deadline. In that regard, while it isn't something I would typically bring up as an example of what I can do on my best day, I can look on it as what I am capable of when every single thing is going wrong around me. It's not fantastic, but it's still reasonably decent for its intended role.
I also have a building journal on making this one that I'll link in here once I move it over to somewhere suitable.
You can find out more at Clan Odan-Urr in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

Wreckage confirms the destruction of a small garrison of Rebels, consiting of 4 Nebulon-B class crusiers and 3 CR-90 Corvettes -Gunnery Sergeant F. Da'ask, Fourth Fleet (Thrawn space Sun Tzu confirmed!?!!?!?!)
Well, that took long enough. It's nice to have an ounce of good news for a change. It isn't quite the kind of success I'd deem "victory", but it's a start.
I have taken the liberty of distributing some strategic pointers to accelerate the downfall of the Rebellion. I have written them on the refresher mirrors of your Star Destroyer in dripping red paint. I understand this is not the usual protocol by living standards, but it's the most straightforward method for deceased spirits.
-Admiral Piett
(OOC: Yes, Thrawn is Space Sun Tzu, and no one can tell me differently. :))

Hosnian System
Recon Flight
1min out from Distress Signal
0735 hrs
Four X-wings zipped and zoom narrowly missing Asteroids. No one said anything partly because they were too stund to react but mostly they were too busy concentrating on not crashing. But once they cleared most of the thicker section Joker broke the silence.
“Admiral, this is Recon Leader, this asteroid field is too dense. I have no clear coordinates for your Micro-jump but I’m still working on it.” Joker said into his comm unit
“Understood Recon Leader, Haako, alert the bridge to set a course to that distress signal, and reach it as soon as we can!” Joker heard Thadmin say over the comm
“Recon Flight lock S-foils in attack position we don’t know what we're going to be up against, Brawl and I are going to make a close pass by the station to see if we can raise them on close comms. 11, Book secure a perimeter around the station.” Joker ordered
“Roger that Joker” 11 said
“Recon Flight Leader, this is the Admiral. It will take us 30 minutes to reach the station,” Thadmin said.
Raysho Station was a large station several Kilometers, wide and several Kilometers wide. Protruding out from the station like branches on a tree was docking bays for larger ships several Nebulon-B and C Frigates were docking receiving minor repairs, the wreckage of smaller Corellian Cruisers that were being resupplied floated nearby. Currently under construction was a Star Hawk Class Heavy Cruiser, which took heavy damage during the, whatever disaster wiped out the Hosnian System.Currently it appeared dead in Space, no lights and no presevable power usage emanate from the Station. Making a close pass of the station Joker spoke into his comm.
“Raysho Space Station 04-86, This is Recon Flight Leader Callsign Joker, please respond.” Joker said broadcasting on all New Republic Frequency. After a few moments of a static comm Joker said
“Raysho Station Please Respond”
“Joker! Deck 4 fourth window in, the lights are flashing” Brawl said.
“Raysho Station this is Joker if you can hear me flick the lights on and off three times” Joker said hoping they could hear and their transmitter was shot. He smiled as the lights blinked on, then off, then on then off and finally on and off. The smile wore off as they began to blink randomly. First four times then a break, then eight times, then a break, then six times then another break, and finally the window flashed on and off.
“Raysho Station, this is Joker, what? I don’t understand” Joker said confused
No further information was revealed as the lights went on and off four times then eight times, then six times, then once.
“Joker, 4861 I think it could be a communications frequency.” Brawl said
“Raysho Station, is 4861 a communication frequency, once for no twice for yes' ' Joker asked, he whooped in triumph as the lights went on and off twice. Tuning into that frequency he said into his comm, “Great thinking Brawl.”
“Raysho Space Station 04-86, This is Recon Flight Leader Callsign Joker I am from NRS Ranger, please respond.” Joker repeated
“Joker?” came a garbled voice. “All our systems have been overloaded, we are in the process of repairing them.”
“Raysho Station, what happened here?” Joker asked
“We don’t fully know we are still piecing it together from our sensor long, but some sort of super laser destroyed the entire Hosnian System almost simultaneously.” The voice said
Their conversation was interrupted as Book said into the comm “Joker we got incoming, six fighters and four landing craft.”
“Raysho Station be advised we have incoming fighters and landing craft, are any of your defensive opprable?” Joker said into the comm
“Negative Joker, shields are off line, all turrets are damaged, and all ships in the yard are either destroyed, disabled or unfinished.” The man in the comm said.
“Roger Raysho Station the odds are not favorable but we will make short work of them.” Joker said, mustering his courage and optimism. Joker then spoke into his comm “Firebird, did you hear all that?”
“Roger Joker, A-Wings have been scrambled E.T.A five minutes our Maires have also been scrambled to aid in the defence of the station, L.t Risa is trying to find clear coordinates for a micro jump but as of yet, no luck.” Alek briefed.
“So it looks like we have to take out these one on our own” Joker said
“Yes Joker” Alek said
“Outnumbered 6-to-2 we got this well in hand” Joker boasted
“Joker your only outumber 6-to-4” Alek said
“Mmmm no 6-to-2 and 2 rookies” Joker teased
“Just remember to save them some kills” Alek said “they need the practice”
Just then Book came over the comm “Attention Unknown aircraft stand down or be fired upon, repeat stand down”
“Book, 11 if he’s in range, open fire!” Alek said
“Sorry Sir, New Republic Standard Operation Procedure 21-57 Do not fire until fired upon” Book said
“Remember that little chat we had yesterday evening, take it to heart Book” Alek said
“Unknown AirCraft We will not fire until apon, turn from your course” Book ordered through his comm
“Joker Brawl, go rescue their butts” Alek said
“We’re going full throttle but we won't reach them in time, Firebird” Brawl said.
“Book for once in your life break protocol and open fire!” Alek said
It was too late, the two lead TIE Fighters opened fire, concentrating fire on 11’s X-Wing, it exploded into dust, the fireball extended, eating up all the oxygen in the cockpit before disappearing entirely. The last thing resounding in Dormans ear was Yarn shouting his name as if to ask for help.
“Dang Ferrik Book you should have fired when you could,” Alek said, his voice dripping with disappointment.
Book instead of taking the fighter head on, he peeled left firing as he went with a couple of bolts striking the TIE Fighters but they were absorbed by their shields.
“They got shields!” Book shouted
“Noted” Joker said as he and Brawl were in range and began to open fire, combining they were able to knock out one. Two TIE Fighters peeled off and followed Book as the other three confronted Joker and Brawl.
“Brawl cover Book I got these three!” Joker said
“On it” Brawk seethed having to go rescue someone who got his wingman killed
Brawl peeled off to go save Book who at this point was jinking and juking hanging on my the seat of his fightsuit. Brawl screamed into the kill zone of the TIE FIghters
“They don't know I’m behind them yet so we only got one chance Book on my mark peel right” Brawl said lining up his shot
“...O.K, I’m ready” Book said shakely
“Now!” Brawl said
Book slammed to the right as Brawl opened fire on the leftmost TIE fighter blasting him into oblivion, there was no fireball in this explosion it was merely a shockwave of dust. The other TIE Fighter turned left trying to get behind Brawl.
“Book he's trying to get behind me intercept him and don’t hesitate” Brawl said
Book continued his turn until he made a 270 degree turn just as the Tie Fighter was finishing his 270 degree turn. Book open fired with all four laser cannons, making its destiny WAP WAP WAP WAP sound. The TIE Pilot open fired a moment after. All bolts hit their marks, the X-wings bolts scored hits to the left wing cockpit connector separating it entirely causing it to spiral out of control then exploding in the fireless explosion. The TIE fighters bolts hit the first three knocked out Books Shields, the last one hit the X-Wing’s nose throwing Book around but ultimately he regained control.
“I’m Going to help Joker, Book knock out those transports' ' Brawl said, turning his X-Wing to where Joker was circling a large chunk of planetary remains being persuaded by the Three TIE Fighter Joker was leaving the three fighters in the dust.
“These things aren't too fast” Joker remarked as he kept circling the chunk of rock.
When the TIE’s were behind the Asteroid Brawl flew right up to the asteroid and counter to Joker’s path. Three seconds later Joker zoomed by him then the three TIEs were in sight and Brawl let loose with all blaster cannons. He disenterraged the center TIE, the one on the left tried to roll out of the way but crashed into the asteroid, the right TIE seeing he was now outnumbered broke his circular course and headed toward the station.
“I got him,” Joker said confidently, breaking his path and chasing down the lone TIE then with three shots the TIE exploded.
“How are you coming with those transports, Book” Joker asked, throwing the throttle all the way forward.
“I destroyed one, but I can’t get the other three, they're too far away!” Book frustrated into the comm.
Joker saw the three transports 50 meters from the docking bay of the station, he held down the trigger firing aimlessly and out of range. The blaster bolts that came close to the transports were absorbed by the shields.
“Raysho Station! We couldn't get to those transports prepared to be boarded” Joker said on the specific frequency.
“Roger Joker, about how many borders should we be expecting?”
“Three Drop ships I’m estimating 50-60 men.” Joker said
“Roger Joker, our marine team is only made up of 20 lightly armed troopers” the voice said “can you provide any more assistance”
“Joker this is Noodles, The Blue Birds A-Wing Aces are here” Noodles said over the comm
“Raysho station is being boarded. Can you help with that?” Joker said over the comm
“Oh good thing we brought along several transports full of angry Wookies” Noodles said nonchalantly.
“Release the beast!!” Joker shouted over the comm
“Raysho station, stand by for assistance Ranger has lovingly given us 24 of the toughest meanest and most elite wookies Kashyyk can provide.” Joker said

A New Visitor (Closed W/Warp-Hath-No-Fury)
@warp-hath-no-fury
The Victory Class Star Destroyer, Imperator Justicia moved through space almost silently. It, and the two Nebulon-B Frigates had been prowling through the space lanes, watching for any signs of pirates. Already, two groups had attempted to flee and another foolishly dared to attack the Imperial ships. Unsurprisingly, they were all dispatched without difficulty, with the wreckages being combed over for any further intelligence.
Captain Elena Tarunt stood on the Bridge of the Justicia, watching through the Bridge’s viewports as the recovery teams returned. It would be a few short hours before they would fully analyse what they found, but it would likely be useful.
“Captain, we’re picking up some strange energy signatures coming . . . Port side.” One of the Bridge Crew called up from the pit of computers, catching Elena’s attention.
“Define ‘Strange’, Ensign.” She responded, striding to the edge of the gap.
“I’m not sure, Ma’am. It’s . . Some sort of . . . Opening?” The crewman looked at the readings once more before looking back up. “I’m sorry, Captain, I . . I have no idea what it is.” But just as he said that, the console he was at beeped frantically as something began to appear. “Wait. Unidentified object is . . Emerging! Captain, a ship is coming out of it, Port side, bearing 684 carom 039!”
It didn’t take any more encouragement for the Bridge crew to kick into action, eyes on and focusing even more on their consoles as they got ready.
“Shields up, weapons at ready. Alert the Strike Craft, I want Combat Air Patrol up now. Swing us to facing and alert the escorts to move on our flanks.” Elena had learnt very quickly to always prepare for the worse, and if that was a warship with hostile intent, she was going to make sure she was ready for it.

From the cockpits of X-Wing, Y-Wing and A-Wing starfighters, players fight for the Rebel Alliance in their struggle against the evil Galactic Empire. Unlike earlier titles in the genre like Wing Commander, X-Wing employs a polygonal 3D engine: flat-shaded polygons are combined with bitmaps only for explosion effects. The game features a comprehensive training element. Before starting on real missions, players should navigate the pilot proving grounds, also known as 'Maze', by flying through a course of doorways set atop platforms in space, preferably without missing any, all while keeping an eye on the tight time limit. Higher levels add additional challenges like hostile laser turrets. Next to the 'Maze', there are simulated historical missions (six for each of the three fighters) that prepare for the complex missions in the rest of the game. The main part of the game consists of three separate campaigns, called Tours of Duty. The Tours can be played in any order, even though they build on each other story-wise: Tour I, 'A New Ally', tells of the Rebellion's search for political allies in their fight against the Empire, while the Emperor launches Operation Strike Fear, a major offensive against the Rebels. Tour II, 'The Great Search' chronicles the Rebels' search for the plans to the Empire's new superweapon, the Death Star. Tour III, 'The Gathering Storm', tells of their efforts to find and destroy the battle station. Animated cutscenes are featured after certain missions to continue the story. Each Tour consists of around a dozen missions, which include a wide variety of objectives. There are standard strike, escort and defense assignments, but also reconnaissance flights - just scanning ships without attacking them - or capture operations - disabling enemy ships, then protecting the transport carrying the strike team during the takeover. The game of course culminates in the famous attack on the Death Star. The three flyable fighters all handle differently and are thus more or less suitable for the different types of missions. The X-Wing is heavily armed and armored, and is usually used on strike missions. The Y-Wing is slower and less well protected, but is the only ship equipped with ion cannons, necessary for disabling ships. With its high speed and maneuverability, the A-Wing is ideal for recon and intercept missions. Next to lasers and ion cannons, the fighters are armed with limited amounts of warheads: proton torpedoes are slow and highly destructive, while concussion missiles are faster, but yield less damage. A unique feature of the game is energy management: Energy must be divided between engines, weapons and shields. At the standard settings, weapons and shields don't recharge - energy must be diverted from the engines for that, slowing the ship. On the other hand, putting more power into the engines adds speed, but drains shields and guns. Energy can also be transferred between the systems, boosting weapons power at the expense of shields or vice versa. Space is populated by many ships besides the player's, most of which are well-known from the movies. The Empire will usually launch waves of TIE Fighters, Interceptors and Bombers from Star Destroyers. The Rebels employ large Mon Calamari cruisers and Corellian Corvettes. In use by both sides are Nebulon-B escort frigates and Lambda-class shuttles. Some ships not seen in the movies include the Imperial assault gunboat, the stormtrooper transport and bulk freighters. Friendly fighters will sometimes accompany the player, and can be given specific orders. #Xwing #XWing1998 #Retrogaming what is this video about? retro gaming Star Wars X Wing gog.com dosbox balance of power lets play sci fi sound blaster by Ricardo

STAR WARS FIGHT ANALYSIS #2 SECTOR FORCES/REBEL CELLS, ALLIANCE MILITARY CASE STUDY: PHOENIX REBEL CELL (Spoilers) Star Wars Rebels serves as the definitive canon guide on the early years of the Rebel Alliance. As such, the journey of Phoenix Squadron and the Ghost give us a glimpse into how individual rebel cells, later Sector Forces, grew to combat the Empire. The Phoenix Rebel Cell was the largest rebel cell in the early days of the Rebellion, and until the Battle of Atollon (spoilers), operated autonomously of Rebel High Command, which did not exist at the time of their formation in 4 BBY. It operated in the Outer Rim Territories as part of a network of rebel cells, with the goal of fighting the Empire as best they could. Under the command of Cmdr Jun Sato, Phoenix Squadron was populated by A-wing fighters, CR-90 Blockade runners, GR-75 transports, and a Pelta-class frigate that served as the first Phoenix Home. They operated primarily in the Outer Rim, and were strengthened by the addition of the 2 Jedi, Mandalorian, Lasat Honor Guard, and Twi’lek pilot of the Lothal Cell: The Ghost Crew. Despite its fighting ability, Phoenix Squadron suffered heavy losses several times before The Battle of Yavin, with the first Phoenix Home being destroyed by Darth Vader himself. This led them to flee, and caused them to settle on Garel, where their base was also ambushed. Despite this, the Cell kept growing, and fighting. Later engagements saw the Rebels, desparate for bases and allies, recruit Captain Rex on Seelos, and come to an agreement with the Protectors of Concord Dawn for safe passage through their system. A mission to Ryloth also allowed them to find a new Phoenix Home, an Imperial Quasar-class fighter carrier, and an additional raid led to the capture of decommissioned Y-Wing bombers. One of their major successes was finding a new base of operations, Chopper Base, on Atollon. Major engagements of the Squadron include: The Blockade of Ibaar, Battle of Garel, Mission to Ryloth, and the Skirmish in the Archeon Nebula, not to mention countless smaller skirmishes by the Ghost Crew. The major turning point for Phoenix Squadron came in 2 BBY, when the Ghost was tasked with escorting Sen. Mon Mothma, Alliance Chancellor, to Dantooine, where she gave her Declaration of Rebellion speech, officially solidifying the Alliance Military and assembling the Alliance Fleet. Their luck would not last however, as Grand Admiral Thrawn, who had studied Phoenix Squadron and anticipated their movements, sabotaged their attack on the TIE Defender factory on Lothal, attacking Chopper Base with 5 Imperial-class Destroyers and 2 Interdictor Cruisers. This battle would prove catastrophic for Phoenix Squadron, as almost all of the Phoenix’s ships, and all of the Massassi Group’s Nebulon B Frigates were lost. This battle saw the complete dissolution of Phoenix Squadron and would have seen no survivors had House Wren and the Bendu not intervened. All was not lost however, as The Battle of Scarif saw several of Phoenix Squadron’s ships as part of the Rebel Fleet, with the Ghost also launching from Yavin IV, and one of the 3 Hammerhead Corvettes gifted to the Squadron by Princess Leia, the Lightbringer, being used to bring 2 Imperial Destroyers into the shield gate, allowing the Rogue One crew to transmit the Death Star plans to the Profundity, allowing the Rebels to destroy the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin. Phoenix Squadron always, always faced overwhelming odds, and thus took the Rebels’ hit and run tactics to heart. Their priorities during battles were never to face the Empire head-on, but to sabotage the Imperials and escape with what forces they could. They suffered hundreds of casualties and lost tens of ships due to the Empire’s superior navy, but they never stopped fighting, never lost hope, serving pivotal roles as part of the Alliance Fleet in the Rebellion’s first victory on Scarif. We still have to wait until Rebels season 4 to see what becomes of the remnants of Phoenix Squadron, but we their sacrifice would not have been in vain, and their bravery at the start of the rebellion still serves as the basic template for all Sector Forces.
